While I was digging around the 3 day shutdown timing, I was simultaneously listening to Los Angeles scanner chatter from FD first responders, CHP, Park Rangers and airport ATC. While there is nothing unusual or notable (directly connected to QR) to report at this time, there was one strange incident reported by the Park Rangers. They were sent out to investigate either one or two vehicles that were abandoned in a remote location of a local mountain region. From their conversations, they were surprised the vehicles would end up at a location not known for off road activity.

 

Hearing that, my first thought was it sounds like a panic flee. In the S.Cal region, which has the highest number of sealed indictments, who might attempt to flee? If and when a shutdown does begin, it will be a huge sign to both the patriots, as well as the DS/cabal, that the jig is up. D Day. The beginning of the end. No doubt there will be suicide attempts by many of the "willing" cabal members. Cyanide pills, razors, bullets, nooses, leaps from tall buildings… any and all will likely be very popular. As well, a significant number will probably attempt to flee, trying to reach their believed safe house/hideaway.

 

The wealthiest attempting to flee would no doubt have access to air travel, whether helicopter or plane. No doubt the White Hats have already considered that likelihood. So, leading up to the shutdown, would you not expect an official government directive be sent to all airports stating all air traffic will be grounded for an indefinite period beginning at a specific time? That would certainly tell all of us that it is about to officially HAPPEN!

 

With no air traffic permitted, panicky cabalists (as well as their useful idiots throughout Los Angeles) will then take to the road. Expect road closures, high speed chases, and vehicles seen and reported (via radio, assuming they can still broadcast) to be speeding across remote mountain and dessert regions here in S. Cal.

Someone texted me yesterday that her neighbor is a nurse and is distraught because 5-6 people a day are dying in hospital in Queens.

 

So, being curious by nature, I looked up morbidity stats in NYC. Here's what I found for the year 2016-2017.

 

Mortality

The citywide age-adjusted death rate decreased between 2016 and 2017, from 575.4 per 100,000 population to 545.7…

 

2017 NYC population: 8.623 million.

 

Let's do some math. 8,623,000 ÷ 100,000 = 86.23 x 545.7 = 47,056 deaths in total 2016-2017.

 

47,056 ÷ 365 = 129 deaths per day.

 

Of the over 200 hospitals in NYC, only 11 are "acute care." We've been hearing about only Queens. It's moar difficult to find mortality rate by hospital here, or to rank hospitals by size. (https://www.nychealthandhospitals.org/hospitals/)

 

On a related note, here are the Flu stats for May 2019. Perhaps someone can dig into these for perspective.

 

Of note, be aware that there are stats for unidentified strains of flu. Large groups of kids [pre teen and teens] playing pick up basketball and football in the street right in front of my house. 8-10 hours a day, everyday, for weeks since the 1st stay home order by Inslee.

Here's one more issue to add to the bonfire of tensions with China brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. The country is reportedly reopening its wet markets, the fresh produce stalls associated with Covid-19's early spread in Wuhan.

 

It's understandable that countries now in the grip of the first wave of infection might be outraged. Many blame wet markets for starting the outbreak in the first place. Opening them again, at a moment when thousands are dying overseas, seems emblematic of Beijing's increasingly chauvinistic approach to world affairs.

 

Animals in wet markets are penned and slaughtered or sold live right next to stalls selling fruit and vegetables. Conditions, as my colleague Adam Minter has written, are often less than hygienic.

 

Places where a range of common and exotic animals mix together while bodily fluids flow freely may seem a fertile breeding ground for the virulent novel diseases that cross the species barrier to humans and occasionally become pandemics.

 

At the same time, let’s put the outrage on pause. Wet markets are increasingly losing ground to supermarkets in China. If they're showing resilience as suppliers of fresh goods, it's precisely because consumers regard them as a healthier and more sustainable alternative.

Attorney General William Barr rolled out new drug interdiction efforts; Defense Secretary Mark Esper spoke about the military pitching in while retaining combat readiness; Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin touched on economic relief for businesses; senior adviser Jared Kushner outlined partnerships with the private sector; and top trade adviser Peter Navarro elaborated on the use of the Defense Production Act.

 

A White House spokesman rejected criticism that the effort has been disconnected. He identified Vice President Pence as the person in charge of coordinating the entire response, and listed dozens of actions taken by the administration that include travel restrictions, disaster declarations for states and funding for businesses and families impacted by the virus.

 

"As both the President and Vice President have said, this is a locally executed, state managed, federally supported response to a global pandemic," deputy press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement. "Every level of government needs to deliver solutions and that is what we are doing in partnership. The White House has shifted responsibilities as it scrambled to get its arms around the magnitude of the pandemic, which Trump downplayed for January and most of February.

LA Mayor Enlists Citizen 'Snitches' to Tattle on Neighbors Who Violate Stay-at-Home Order

 

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is encouraging citizens to turn in their neighbors who violate the city's "stay-at-home order. "Snitches get rewards," the mayor said this week.

 

Are kids expected to turn in their parents? Does anyone else think this is Hitlerian in concept, if not in execution?

“If any non-essential businesses continue to operate in violation of the stay at home order, we’re going to act to enforce the safer at home order and ensure their compliance,” Garcetti said, according to CBS Los Angeles.

 

The mayor’s office said that city officials, with officers from the Los Angeles Police Department, had visited more than 500 businesses that had not complied with his order. His office said four businesses have already been referred for misdemeanor filings.

 

“You know the old expression about snitches,” Garcetti said this week. “Well, in this case, snitches get rewards.”

 

He added: “We want to thank you for turning folks in and making sure we are all safe,” he said.

 

The suggestion will turn neighborhood busybodies into spies for the government. The city even has a website where you can report these lawbreakers, although there's no mention of a reward.

 

The city attorney has filed criminal charges against four businesses that are defying the closure order.

On Friday, Los Angeles prosecutors filed criminal charges against four stores that stayed open despite Mayor Eric Garcetti's executive "Safer at Home" order calling for the shutdown of all nonessential businesses. The charges mark the first known instance of a city prosecuting businesses that disregard orders to shutter amid the coronavirus epidemic.

 

The prosecuted businesses are Brother Shoes, Business Discount Electronics, the DTLA Smoke Shop and Hot Box Smoke Shop. In addition to these four shops, the city attorney's office says it's considering prosecuting 30 other businesses accused of operating against city orders.

 

An organization with the Orwellian-sounding name of "Business Ambassadors Program" is apparently going door-to-door making sure businesses are compliant. Otherwise, you can be charged criminally for threatening the safety of everybody – or something.

 

The program contacts and warns noncompliant businesses to cease operations under the penalty of possible legal charges. Noncompliant businesses face misdemeanor charges, other possible citations and utility shut-offs by the municipal Department of Water and Power.

 

"Nonessential businesses remaining open at this time jeopardize public health and safety," City Atty. Mike Feuer told the publication, "and my office is committed to vigorously enforcing the mayor's order."
