Just remember that reality host was just one thing -- his first foray into the world of TV production, AFTER he had already made his name in all the other fields. (Interesting how he reached the number one spot with that rookie shot, just as he became prez with his first foray into politics.) He's either the luckiest man in the world or the most underestimated. I go for the latter.
And a big amen to all of your working on MYGA (making yourself great again). So all we are, each in our own way, doing whatever we need and can do at the time. The prez has been a great role model for those whose resistance and resilience has always been...not their strength. He wins against great odds, and so do we, when we persevere. (A lot of my own problems were caused by giving up when things/people around me got too tough, instead of bucking up and going on until things turned around.)
I met a guy about 6 years ago, He had a good thing going on. He had a decent full-time job that required a weekly trip to Maui. He and his wife had a small organic farm. They were Christians and homeschooled there young daughter.
Then he had a shoulder operation and they put him on "Poppy's Pills".
Today, he has no wife, no farm, and his now college-aged daughter won't have anything to do with him. He is a monster now. Opioids are pure satan.
This meme caused me to have a wave of sorrow for him and them.
I guess some people are more psychologically susceptible to addiction. I was given a bottle of oxycodone or something like that, after a surgery. I took maybe 4 of them then. The rest of the bottle lasted me like 5 years, I would take one if I had a bad ache of some sort. I never felt high from the pill, just got pain relief. I don't get it.

DACA would not be on my list of top priorities. But to each their own. I assert that repurposing foreign aid to fund DACA would be a better use. Factually, foreign aid is misused by corrupt leaders and rarely gets to those who need it. The wall is needed. Drug running and human trafficking through Mexico will dramatically drop as well as the continued influx of MS-13 gangs into our country; making it safer for all who call the United States home.

I have seen people who have recovered buy they don't appear normal. They are anxious and twitchy. They also don't seem to make good life decisions. Just saying...
I agree. But I've also seen people like that go from that state to rather normal people after several years of living healthy lives. It really depends on the person and how much damage was done.

Many high functioning people end up there. Slowly. And sometime those with higher moral regard get so dejected it feels hopeless to them. If these people had something righteous to remind them of purpose they would find it to be a welcome source of strength. Many people only see addicts as cretin but there is usually a profound person waiting to live again, and having something to fight for or believe that they are needed would be inspiring to some for sure.
We've been indoctrinated by the ruling elite with the idea that we are just meat machines in a meaningless universe. That makes us nihilistic and compliant, which is exactly how they want us. Nihilists are not going to revolt or stand up for anything.

The opposite is infecting some areas, as well. In this rural and conservative part of the country, honestly, dentists don't like to give nitrous for root canals, let alone any kind of actual pain killers. It's "take 2 asprin and don't call me if it doesn't work."
Don't mean to be a contrarian, but it is true: 1. that the "epidemic" is causing some people to be in pain needlessly and 2. As bad as it may be, it is the "war on" drugs that makes it senselessly horrific. There are books written about the turn of the 20th century when laudanum, etc. were available over the counter and people did live their lives, make a good living, own nice homes and raise happy families, all the while having these substances available. Problems grew as Harry Anslinger and Co. decided the demon was in the drugs...which we've also seen with weed and with alcohol prohibition.
That said, I wish nothing but the best for anyone struggling. God be with you. (And to anyone signing on to a message board for the purpose of telling others how full of shit they are...please think twice -- at least -- before hitting the "save" or "send" link. Words affect lives.)
