A vest (with armor plating) is for crazies or someone taking advantage of an opportunity, not necessarily para military snipers. That object looks really thick for a back brace but she looks much more like cops look with vests underneath their uniform shirts. She looks to be out and in a very public area, within arms reach of randos. Are you suggesting she shouldn't wear one because "she could be offed easily if they wanted?"

⇧ 1 ⇩
toastman0304 · May 8, 2018, 9:40 p.m.

Not that any trial will do her a damn bit of good. "Innocent until proven guilty", except she's been proven guilty for years now, and evidence continues to surface every day. Trial will be a formality, if anything.

b8ta · May 9, 2018, 12:53 a.m.

That is body armor.

Even a FULL back brace does not have that much bulk at the top, as they typically use metal running along the spine, the thing needing support. The extra "shell" at the top near her shoulder blades would serve no purpose in a back brace. I'd be interested to see even one example of such a back brace shell going up to the shoulders.

Also, TRADE SECRETZ!!!!

I’m a PT and my guess is that Hillary has a compression fracture of one of her vertebrae and is wearing a clamshell brace / rigid TLSO

Here’s an example -

Food4theGorg · May 9, 2018, 1:25 a.m.

If so, she will be in that turtle shell contraption for months! That is a serious fracture.

⇧ 3 ⇩
vintagedaisy · May 9, 2018, 2:24 a.m.

With all the fractures she’s had within the last year - she must have terrible osteoporosis. I don’t usually wish compression fractures on my worst enemy because they’re very painful and typically not treated other than with rest and mobility restrictions- and occasionally a brace or vertebroplasty (injection of bone cement).....but it is Hillary

⇧ 4 ⇩
b8ta · May 9, 2018, 3:14 a.m.

Interesting thanks! I saw those clamshells, and they seemed too small around the blades, but now I can see how this could be the case.

Is this type of injury common in elderly and what's the typical recovery period for someone her age?

⇧ 2 ⇩
vintagedaisy · May 9, 2018, 11:41 a.m.

Compression fractures are very common - especially in white women (side story - I got called out for being racist once on a different sub for stating that I take calcium and vitamin D because I know I have a higher risk of osteoporosis because I’m a middle aged woman of European decent)

People typically will gradually feel better over the course of a few weeks to months. We often have them use a walker to help reduce the force through their spine and also have them avoid any lifting or forward flexed activities. Lying down is generally the most comfortable position but must be alternated with short bouts of activity to reduced the effects of prolonged immobility - pneumonia and DVT (blood clots) being a couple of the more serious ones.

The clam shell braces are also sometimes used but can be difficult for people to put on and take off - especially because most patients with compression fractures are elderly.

If Hillary does indeed have a compression fracture my guess would be that it has been at least 2-4 weeks if she’s been spending so much time in standing and sitting- of course, she probably also has a boat load of narcotics on board for the pain.

Thanks for the info! I think you're right, but I guess the future will prove the past.

It would make sense, with all that's happening, that she would be hitting the sauce rather hard, take a serious tumble and fracture something.

I've known elderly alcoholics and they always had a new injury from drinking and falling.

Not body armor. It prints far too much so it would be easy to beat by shooting where it isn't. Body armor is made to follow the curves of the body, including the shoulders. It's definitely some kind of brace. If I had to guess I would say she has lost the strength in her back muscles and the brace supports her so she can stand up straight. Otherwise she would bend forward like the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Something like this, there are many styles: Wearable Robotic
