Senate GOP coronavirus bill includes $29.4B for Pentagon

The Pentagon would get nearly $30 billion under the Senate Republicans’ coronavirus relief plan, including $8 billion for weapons systems.

The $29.4 billion for the Pentagon is included in the $1 trillion coronavirus aid package Senate Republicans released Monday night.

Democrats have already declared the bill a non-starter, but it lays out Republicans and the White House’s priorities heading into negotiations.

Republicans are defending the funding for acquisition programs as supporting the defense industrial base at a time of economic hardship and job losses, but Democrats are blasting it as a giveaway to defense contractors.

"The pandemic continues to threaten the defense industrial base and thousands of vulnerable suppliers across the country who support it," Alyssa Pettus, press secretary for Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), said in a statement. "That puts thousands and thousands of jobs in jeopardy. The chairman believes Congress must act, not turn a blind eye."

Of the military hardware included in the bill, $686 million would go toward the Air Force’s Lockheed Martin-made F-35A fighter jet. The Air Force would also get $720 million for Lockheed C-130J transport planes and $650 million for A-10 wing replacements, which Boeing is contracted to do.

The bill would also allocate about $1.1 billion for the Navy’s Boeing-made P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol planes, as well as $1.45 billion for four expeditionary medical ships, $260 million for one expeditionary fast transport ship, $250 million for amphibious shipbuilding and $250 million for the surface combatant supplier base program.

Several of the weapons programs that would get funding previously lost money when the Trump administration took Pentagon funding to use on the southern border wall earlier this year. In February, the Pentagon announced it was redirecting $3.8 billion from programs including the F-35A, the P-8A, the expeditionary fast transport ship, the C-130J and unspecified National Guard and reserves equipment.

The GOP Senate coronavirus bill would appropriate $800 million toward the National Guard and reserves’ equipment account.

Ron Paul: Big Holes in the Covid 'Spike' Narrative

Motorcycle accidents ruled Covid deaths? In the rush to paint Florida as the epicenter of the “second wave” of the coronavirus outbreak, government officials and their allies in the mainstream media have stooped to ridiculous depths to maximize the death count. A television station this weekend looked into two highly unusual Covid deaths among victims in their 20s, and when they asked about co-morbidities they were told one victim had none, because his Covid death came in the form of a fatal motorcycle accident.

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. In fact the “spike” that has dominated the mainstream for the last couple of weeks is full of examples of such trickery.

Washington state last week revised its Covid death numbers downward when it was revealed that anyone who passed away for any reason whatsoever who also had coronavirus was listed as a “Covid-19 death” even if the cause of death had nothing to do with Covid-19.

In South Carolina, the state health agency admitted that the “spike” in Covid deaths was only the result of delayed reporting of suspected Covid deaths.

An analysis of reported daily Covid deaths last week compared to actual day-of-death in Houston revealed that the recent “spike” consisted largely of deaths that occurred in April through June. Why delay reporting until now?

We do know that based on this “spike” the Democrat mayor of Houston cancelled the convention of the Texas Republican Party. Mission accomplished?

Doesn’t it seem suspicious that so many states have experienced “delayed” reporting of deaths until Fauci and his gang of “experts” announced that we are in a new nightmare scenario?

Last week in Florida – which is perhaps not coincidentally the location of the Republican Party’s national convention – another scandal emerged when hundreds of Covid test centers reported 100 percent positive results. Afghanistan can enjoy the important Eid al-Adha holiday this weekend with a 3-day ceasefire between the government and the Taliban, announced Tuesday. The ceasefire was said to be part of negotiating progress between the two factions.

As Washington intensifies its focus on the influence of social media platforms on American life and the democratic process, the heated rhetoric and myriad policy proposals lack one crucial element: data.

For all the concern over “community guidelines,” content moderation, fact-checking and advertising policies, we have few of the actual data points necessary to evaluate how well the companies are doing. Could it be that they get it right most of the time and it is just a few high-profile mistakes that are driving our concern? Conversely, are the companies getting it wrong much more than we or even they realize? What are the datasets that Congress should require from social companies in order to help the public better understand the role those platforms play in society today?

On paper, the platforms’ content moderation practices and fact-checking partnerships seem like reasonable solutions to the difficult task of keeping bad actors from disrupting their digital communities. Yet how closely do the companies adhere to these rules in practice? To what degree do the unconscious biases of the companies’ engineers manifest themselves in their algorithms? Would the American public be as supportive of content moderation if they understood the disproportionate ways it can impact certain voices or the unevenness in how the platforms apply their rules. In order to compare rhetoric to reality, we need data that captures the daily functioning of our modern public squares.

Here are 10 datasets that Congress could demand from social media companies that would begin to provide the critical insights needed to understand their roles in our modern democracy and highlight areas that may require further legislative action.

A Database of Violating Tweets. Moscow sees 90-percent plunge in new COVID-19 cases, says mayor

According to the mayor, the situation has remained practically unchanged for about a month

MOSCOW, July 29. /TASS/. The number of new coronavirus infections in the Russian capital has taken a 90-percent dive since the peak of the pandemic, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Wednesday.

"If we take the period from the peak of the incidence, the number of newly-diagnosed COVID-19 cases in Moscow has seen a ten-fold decline. You remember, we had 6,500 [cases]. Today, we have about 650 cases, plus or minus 50," he said at a meeting on the nationwide sanitary and epidemiological situation chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the mayor, the situation has remained practically unchanged for about a month. "There are also other factors, such as hospital admissions. Our bed capacity today is less than the number of discharged patients. The situation has remained more or less the same for a considerable period of time. The number of patients in intensive care units, on ventilators, is also decreasing all the time," Sobyanin highlighted.

"We have created a reserve fund of 7,000 beds in mobile hospitals, but they are no different from stationary hospitals. Plus, 6,000 beds are being used to the fullest extent. These are specialized hospitals, which work with COVID-19 patients," the mayor said.

The coronavirus situation in Moscow, previously the hardest hit area in Russia, according to statistics, has improved substantially. A total of 239,986 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the city, including 671 cases recorded in the past 24 hours. To date, 176,437 patients have recovered, and 4,434 people have died. A campaign for mass voluntary testing among the public for COVID-19 antibodies is underway in the capital.

What Durham is currently doing is a bit harder to describe. From all appearances, he is engaged in a sweeping global probe of the circumstances surrounding the investigation of the Trump Campaign’s connections with Russia, an undertaking which apparently embraces the activities of both the FBI, in its Crossfire Hurricane counterintelligence investigation, and of the continuation of that probe by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Reports indicate that Durham’s investigative portfolio has repeatedly expanded and now also extends to leaks viewed as harmful to the start-up of the Trump administration, to the unmasking of Michael Flynn, to activities in Ukraine that almost certainly include alleged activities of Hunter Biden, and, more broadly, to the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC)’s assessment that Russia affirmatively sought to help Trump win the presidency in 2016.

The exact contours of Durham’s mandate are a matter of interpolation since, but for one notable occasion, Durham, himself, has been consistently tight-lipped about his activities. But Durham’s boss, Barr, and Barr’s boss, Trump, have been less reticent. The first inkling that an undertaking like the one Durham is now pursuing was on Barr’s “to-do” list was voiced by Barr, himself, during his confirmation hearing for attorney general on January 15, 2019. Barr promised the Senate Judiciary Committee that he would examine the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation against the Trump Campaign saying that “the best policy is to allow light to shine in.” Thus, the Mueller investigation, then still a few months short of concluding, was on notice that the second-guessing was about to begin.

The Special Counsel closed his investigation and submitted his final report to the Attorney General on March 22, 2019, roughly one month after Barr was sworn into office. Two days later, eschewing any notion of abstaining from comment while the Justice Department reviewed the report internally, Barr sent his own controversial summary of the report to Congress. Three days after Barr’s summary, Mueller wrote to Barr saying that

the summary letter that the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office’s work and conclusions.

Since March of 2019, the jousting over the Mueller Report, as well as the prosecutions spawned by the Special Counsel’s investigation, has continued relatively unabated.

On March 25, 2019, between the release of Barr’s tendentious summary of the Mueller Report and Mueller’s letter questioning that summary, Justice Department records show that Barr and his close advisers met with Durham, along with three members from DOJ’s logistics and staffing division. While the records offer no indication of what Barr and Durham discussed that day, it seems highly likely that the conversation broached the topic of the investigation that Durham would soon lead. Other DOJ records reflect that, after that March day, Barr and Durham had at least 18 subsequent scheduled meetings and three scheduled phone calls in 2019. Whether additional unscheduled contacts occurred is not publicly known but, by any measure, Durham enjoyed considerable face time with Barr in 2019.

Yesterday, the price of gold reached an all time high finishing the day at $1,951. This is a steep increase from the $1,530 price gold finished just over four months ago on 03/13/2020, and looking at yesterdays closing price on the graph from way back on 11/11/2015 which was $1,088, you will notice a 55% increase in value over the last four years and eight months. The dollar index, on the other hand, seems to be in a free fall taking a sharp downturn from its high this year which was 99.092 on 01/03/2020 to yesterday’s close at 93.647. Both of these numbers are a much better value than the five year low of 88.954 on 01/01/2018. However, the economic climate at this time is an anomaly compared to anything we’ve seen over the last 30 years, and if gold continues its ascension which seems to be on a historic track up smashing through the glass ceiling.

The factors setting the stage for this are many, and one, COVID-19, is a global pandemic and a unique Carona Virus which has caused the entire world population to dramatically shift their daily routines by social distancing, working from home, wearing masks in public. It has even cause millions of people to lose their jobs due to mandatory government shutdowns of businesses or lack of opportunity for work at open businesses due to overstock of manufacturing items during the pause in commerce caused be the pandemic. The layoffs, shut downs, and closure of businesses has caused the United States Congress to pass $6 trillion dollars in stimulus packages over the year funding things such as payroll protection programs for employers who keep their employees during this crisis and direct payments to individuals who make under $75,000 in the amount of $1,200 each or $2,400 per married couple with $300 included for each child. This has kept the market afloat thus far, but the introduction of $6 trillion new dollars into the market seems to have had the devaluation effect on the dollar one would expect. Naturally, precious metals will benefit during uncertain times, but this is unprecedented as the last pandemic of this scale was the 1918 Spanish Flu.

If this trend continues at the rate it is currently flowing for an extended period of time, that could be an excellent opportunity for the United States Government to reexamine the idea proceeding with the fiat currency provided by the Federal Reserve. The US Dollar used to be backed by gold and silver; It was called The Gold Standard, and the value of the Dollar would dramatically benefit from reestablishing The Gold Standard during times such as these due to its valuation being directly influenced by the price of gold and/or silver.

You may ask yourself, “How did we ever get away from the idea of securing our currency with something of actual, measurable and tangible value while deciding to substitute a promissory note which is fiat in nature?” To that, I would say, “Excellent question, and I commend you for your amazing critical thinking skills.” You see, way back in 1913 The United States House and Senate under Woodrow Wilson passed legislation called The Federal Reserve Act. America’s economic woes started back in 1907 when the stock market crashed causing a run on the banking system. The banks could not cover their ledger, causing a nationwide failure of the banking system. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 privatized the banking industry which was championed by JP Morgan among others, and established a centralized way of accounting for our currency in banks across the nation. It was only took 30 years for our great nation to realize the first Federal Reserve Act was a complete failure, so naturally, what does the government decide to do? Almost the exact same thing again with broader reach starting with presidential authority to regulate personal ownership of precious metals, and giving the Federal Reserve the flexibility to issue emergency currency called Federal Reserve Bank Notes backed by any asset of a commercial bank. They called that jewel The Emergency Banking Act of 1933. This act enabled Franklin D. Roosevelt to end the relationship gold and the dollar enjoyed together, which he did almost completely. A small percentage of money was still backed by gold until 1971 which was the official end of the Gold Standard in the United States. Since then our currency has been completely fiat which means it is not backed by anything of real measurable value. Luckily, we have tied our dollar into the value of oil; we call that the petrodollar, and it benefits the US because we are the standard, by which, every other nation’s currency is measured, at least, every nation participating in the centralized system provided by by the FED across the entire globe. At this point, it is almost every country. There are only nine tiny nations globally who do not have a central bank, and their combined populations weigh in at approximately 533,505 people.

Here is the real issue with what President Woodrow Wilson, and the rest of the government did to us in 1913 and then President Roosevelt and company expanded in 1933. They do not have explicit permission under The United States Constitution to privatize the nations banking systems, and according to The Tenth Amendment of the Constitution: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people. Ergo, the Act could easily be repealed by an intelligent House and Senate. For that matter, since it was done to us illegally, an Executive Order could potentially have the desired effect as well if Congress is too busy.

President Donald Trump has had his fair share of issues from the private banking system. Just as our economy was getting hot, the FED decided to start raising interest rates which would be reasonable if they had equivocally issued those rates during similar times during the last administration. Even though the rates were not congruent to previous similar economic time frames, President Trump still continued growing our economy at record rates for every class and race of citizens male and female alike. Record employment growth was enjoyed for over three consecutive years, and the unemployment rate was steadfast at around 4% or less. (bring jobs back from overseas) You’d need a magic wand for something like that. The manufacturing jobs… they’re not coming back, folks.”

The economy has been devastated now due to the global pandemic setting us back, but if we swap from our doomed, yet again, fiat money system back to the correct system we deserve, The Gold Standard, we could have a prayer of pulling ourselves up by the boot straps of The Constitution which is the most sound instrument ever pinned to be a compass rose to guide the government through all her storms without a scratch, so long as it is properly governed. The whole idea was to limit government reach and power. Police Arrest Democrat Volunteer for “Fire Bombing” Democrat HQ in Phoenix

In Maricopa County, Arizona the Democratic party’s Phoenix headquarters was attacked with a fire bomb. The building was severely damaged after the bomb was thrown onto the building on the night of July 24th. Today, local police announce they have arrested a former volunteer for the party and charged him with arson. The man’s name is Matthew Egler, age 29.

Video shows Egler parking near the county’s side of the building and exiting his vehicle. He tosses the fire bomb onto the structure and leaves the scene. Video evidence was combined with social media posts to confirm Egler was likely the culprit. Egler had been banned from volunteering at the location.

Fire crews responded to calls of smoke and fire around 1AM. There were no injuries reported at the scene. Former Presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke tweeted saying the attack was right near where his desk had been in the building. The ATF collected evidence and was quickly able to identify the suspect as one of the party’s own volunteers.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu participated in a conference call with world leaders on Wednesday to discuss their responses to the novel coronavirus.

The call was hosted by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and included the participation of Australian Prime minister Scott Morrison, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

One More Senior Iraqi Army Officer Killed By ISIS Terrorists

Late on July 28, ISIS terrorists ambushed and killed Brig. Gen. Ahmed Abdel Wahid Mohamed al-Lami, commander of the 29th Brigade’s 7th Infantry Division of the Iraqi military.

The Iraqi Security Media Cell said Brig. Gen. al-Lami was ambushed while tracking terrorist cells in the district of Hit in the western province of al-Anbar. A first lieutenant was killed and two soldiers were also injured during the attack.

ISIS confirmed its responsibility for the attack in a statement released by its news agency Amaq on July 29. The group claimed that seven Iraqi officers and soldiers were killed.

Brig. Gen. al-Lami is the second senior officer of the Iraqi military assassinated by ISIS cells this month. On July 17, the terrorist group killed Brig. Gen. Ali Hamid Ghaidan al-Khazraji, commander of the 59th Brigade, in a well-planned ambush north of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Iraqi authorities are now investigating the assassination of Brig. Gen. al-Khazraji. A similar investigation will probably be launched in connexion with the attack that claimed the life of Brig. Gen. al-Lami.

These recent assassinations indicate that ISIS cells are now tracking senior Iraqi officers. Iraqi security forces should take measures to address this new threat and protect army officers.

The motion describes the email listed as “Exhibit A.”
