Just one more way of cutting out the MIDDLEMEN!

Because that is what big government is. When you collect taxes, and give it to the Dept of Education, who gives it out to schools, who pay it to teachers, who decide what to teach, you are DISEMPOWERING students and their families. So give the money to students, like a welfare stamp for education, and they can spend it at any education provider that they believe meets their needs. All the government needs to do is set standards, and inspect the education providers. Students and families can be the whistleblowers and the OIG will police the system.

Hey anons only here for a brief time but wanted to spread some good will. So my new job requires that I travel amongst fellow Americans talking with them and asking questions. I had to go to a location predominantly black (I am middle aged and white, young men and old women. I said hello and greeted them with respect, they greeted me back with respect (the young black men) I went over to the older black ladies, same greeting same pleasantries. On my way out said goodbye to the young group of black men same pleasant greetings….met with many people today of all races age groups and genders. All were willing to help without reward. Many were lighthearted and joked about our present situation with all of the protocols put in place. Such a wonderful working around average Americans. We are a special bunch in this beautiful country. What we see on the news and the television is one big lie…Don't believe it. People are inherently good and want to engage with one another. That was what i learned today and generally they want to help.

Prominent Democratic donor George Soros said he is confident President Trump will be a “transitory phenomenon” in an interview with an Italian newspaper published Tuesday.

 

Soros, a Hungarian American, told Italy’s La Repubblica his prediction for the upcoming election and the country in a wide-ranging interview for his 90th birthday, according to a translation by Market Watch.

 

“Even in the United States, a confidence trickster like Trump can be elected president and undermine democracy from within,” he said. “But in the U.S. you have a great tradition of checks and balances and established rules. And above all you have the Constitution. So I am confident that Trump will turn out to be a transitory phenomenon, hopefully ending in November.”

 

But the billionaire Democratic donor warned that Trump “remains very dangerous” because “he’s fighting for his life and he will do anything to stay in power.” Soros added the president will be held responsible for violating the Constitution if he does not win reelection, according to Market Watch.

 

Soros also acknowledged the coronavirus pandemic in his interview, calling it “the worst crisis in my lifetime since the Second World War.”

 

“I would describe it as a revolutionary moment when the range of possibilities is much greater than in normal times,” he said, according to Market Watch. “What is inconceivable in normal times becomes not only possible but actually happens. People are disoriented and scared. They do things that are bad for them and for the world.”

Netanyahu also criticized the center-left lawmakers for failing to address obscene sexual comments launched at her during protests and online.

"I haven't heard [Defense Minister Benny] Gantz or [Foreign Minister Gabi] Ashkenazi condemn the sexual violence against me," said Netanyahu. "I would expect the most from [Labor MK Merav] Michaeli, I did not hear her condemn it. I have not heard from [Meretz MK] Tamar Zandberg, who only knows how to shout and shout."

Flashback: Harris Said America ‘should have that conversation’ About Felons In Prison Getting Right To Vote. She’s No Centrist

 

Former California Attorney General Sen. Kamala Harris may have been too tough on petty crime criminals but don’t be fooled. She’s not a centrist and many of her views appear to align with the radical left. ‘

 

In fact, some go hand in hand with socialist Democrat Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

 

Here’s one example that’s been resurfaced since presumptive Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden selected Harris for his running mate: her appearance last year on CNN’s Town Hall. In one exchange with CNN’s Don Lemon in April, 2019, Harris is asked if felons, including the Boston Marathon bomber, should be given the right to vote from prison.

 

The felons comprised those that committed sexual, as well as aggravated assault, and even prisoners from death row, stated Lemon.

 

Harris responded that yes, America “should have that conversation.”

 

What? Does anyone with common sense even for one minute think that a felon should be given the right to vote from prison?

 

Harris also explained her role as an advocate that fights for voting rights for those who have already served their sentences saying, “I agree that the right to vote is one of the very important components of citizenship and it is something that people should not be stripped of needlessly is why I have been a long advocate of making sure that formerly incarcerated are not denied a right to vote.”

 

She went onto say that in some states former felons are permanently deprived the right to vote and it is an issue that she wishes to change.

 

“These are policies that go back to Jim Crowe, these are policies that go back to the policies of disenfranchisement,” she said.

 

It’s strange that these are her positions on the issue when she was highly criticized before for her stringent prosecution of minor crimes and her failure in California to investigate police officer related shootings. She was highly criticized for her lack of action.

Indeed, an examination of that record shows how Ms. Harris was far more reticent in another time of ferment a half-decade ago.

 

Since becoming California’s attorney general in 2011, she had largely avoided intervening in cases involving killings by the police. Protesters in Oakland distributed fliers saying: “Tell California Attorney General Kamala Harris to prosecute killer cops! It’s her job!”

The president's new medical adviser Dr. Scott Atlas weighed the risks of schoolchildren spreading the virus against those of keeping schools shut.

 

"The risk of the disease is extremely low for children, even less than that of seasonal flu," said Atlas, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and a member of the think tank's working group on health care policy. "We know that the harms of locking out the children from school are enormous. And we also know, as we all would agree, that educating America's children is right at the top of the list for our nation's priorities."

 

There have been more than 5.1 million coronavirus cases in the U.S. and more than 165,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

 

A Just the News poll with Scott Rasmussen found that by a margin of 45% to 29% registered voters think that in the event a school does not offer in-person education, parents should "be able to use public school funding to have their children attend a different school that offers in-person teaching."

Israel takes Greece’s side in maritime standoff with Turkey

 

Jerusalem kept mostly silent on the crisis building up in recent months.

 

Israel voiced its support for Greece in their dispute with Turkey over economic zones in the eastern Mediterranean.

The Foreign Ministry released a rare declarative statement that “Israel follows closely as tension arises in the Eastern Mediterranean.

“Israel expresses its full support and solidarity with Greece in its maritime zones and its right to delimit its EEZ [exclusive economic zone],” the ministry stated.

Soon after the statement was released, Israel’s Ambassador to Greece Yossi Amrani met with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, who later announced he would come to Israel on Wednesday and meet with Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.

The situation in the eastern Mediterranean will be at the top of the agenda.

The message came as Turkey sent naval ships into the eastern Mediterranean this week, saying they are meant to protect a research mission, surveying the continental shelf. The ships are in Greece’s EEZ.

Turkey claimed control of the area under the terms of an agreement it signed with Libya in November 2019, dividing large swaths of the eastern Mediterranean Sea between them, creating friction between Ankara and Athens. Last week, Greece and Egypt signed their own agreement, delineating their EEZs in the eastern Mediterranean, to Turkey’s consternation.

Greece and Israel have become close allies in recent years, working together on energy projects such as the EastMed pipeline, planned to be the longest in the world, which would go from Israel to the Greek mainland via Cyprus.

France will increase its military presence in the eastern Mediterranean, President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday, calling on Turkey to halt oil and gas exploration in disputed waters that has heightened tensions with Greece.

The French leader voiced concern over "unilateral" exploration by Turkey in a call with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Macron's office said in a statement. It added that prospecting should "cease in order to allow a peaceful dialogue" between the neighbouring NATO members.

The standoff deepened this week with the arrival of Turkish seismic research vessel Oruc Reis in a disputed area of the Mediterranean, accompanied by warships.

France will "temporarily reinforce" its military presence, Macron's statement said, to "monitor the situation in the region and mark its determination to uphold international law."

Turkey and Greece are at loggerheads over competing claims to natural gas reserves, brought into sharp focus by the attempts of EU member Cyprus to explore for gas in the eastern Mediterranean over Turkey's strong objections.

Macron called last month for EU sanctions against Turkey for what he described as "violations" of Greek and Cypriot sovereignty over their territorial waters. Relations between Paris and Ankara have also frayed over the conflict in Libya.

A Senior Republican Senate source has confirmed to Gateway Pundit that Senator Mitt Romney is leading an effort to block Senator Ron Johnson from subpoenaing James Comey and John Brennan.

“Romney was for impeachment. He has been against Trump every step of the way. Now he is obstructing going after the leakers and liars who went after Trump,” the senior senate source said.

 

The obstruction claims come despite the fact that the committee gave him the unilateral power to subpoena people earlier this year.

Here is my take on this. (I am not a practicing toxicologist, but I have a MS in forensic toxicology) and I think that they overcharged this cop with murder because there is almost no way that charge holds if any "decent" lawyer gets in there with this tox report.

Report: 75% of Americans Allowed to Vote by Mail in 2020 Election

 

More than 75 percent of Americans will be allowed to vote by mail in the 2020 presidential election scheduled for November, according to a report from the New York Times on Tuesday.

 

The Times‘ analysis stated that if turnout increases as predicted, an estimated 80 million mail ballots would be delivered to election offices later this year, more than double the number of ballots that were returned four years ago.

 

Every state has some sort of mail voting, but this year 24 states, along with the District of Columbia have welcomed mail ballots.

 

In nine states, along with Washington D.C., registered voters will be mailed a ballot before the election. Voters in 33 states will be allowed to cast an absentee ballot with no excuse needed. In eight states, voters will be mailed an application to request an absentee ballot. In 25 states, voters are required to obtain an application for an absentee ballot themselves. In another eight states, voters will be required to have an excuse, other than coronavirus, to vote absentee.

 

According to the Times, states that allow residents to vote by mail saw a higher turnout during the caucuses and primaries.

 

Over the last year, the conversation regarding vote by mail has shifted into one of partisanship. Republicans, for the most part, oppose the process, while Democrats are in full support of it.

 

Democrats have noted that a vote by mail process would be suitable in November as the coronavirus continues to spread. President Trump disagrees.

 

President Donald Trump has questioned the safety and security of the process, saying it could lead to such problems as election fraud. Trump also accused Democrats of “meddling” and said voting by mail makes it easier for foreign actors to interfere with our election process.

 

In a July statement to Fox News, the United States Postal Service ensured that no mail-in ballots would be compromised.

 

“The Postal Service is committed to delivering election mail in a timely manner … the Postal Service’s financial condition is not going to impact our ability to process and deliver election and political mail,” the USPS stated.

Florida Woman Admits To Downloading Child Porn, Deputies Say

 

CLEARWATER, Florida — Crimes Against Children Detectives have arrested a Clearwater woman for Possession of Child Pornography.

 

According to detectives, their investigation began on August 6, 2020, after receiving information from Largo Police Department reference an electronic child pornography investigation.

 

Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 31-year-old Courtney Rummery.

 

Detectives obtained a search warrant from the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Rummery’s residence, located at 2023 Lake Citrus Drive in unincorporated Clearwater. Detectives located a laptop inside the residence which contained multiple images of child pornography.

 

In an interview with detectives on August 12, 2020, Rummery admitted to downloading and viewing child pornography.

 

Detectives arrested Rummery and charged her with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.

 

Rummery was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident.

 

The investigation continues.

California Man Obtained $860K In COVID-19 Aid Then Fled The Country: Court Docs

 

LOS ANGELES – A San Fernando Valley man now believed to have fled the United States today faces federal criminal charges today for allegedly obtaining more than $860,000 in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans for a shell company and then transferring the bulk of his illicit gains to his personal bank accounts.

 

Arman Manukyan, 49, of Panorama City, was charged with one count of bank fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft in a criminal complaint filed Monday in United States District Court.

 

According to an affidavit in support of the complaint, Manukyan in June submitted two applications for PPP loans to Bank of America for $1.7 million on behalf of two shell companies registered in his name – Argo Global, Inc., and Express Wiring.

 

Manukyan allegedly claimed Argo Global was a sewing business with 73 employees and submitted to Bank of America, and later the Small Business Administration, false tax documents purporting to show wages and taxes for the company. The underwriting packet also did not include a list of employees or associates for Argo Global, which listed a virtual office address in Beverly Hills as its place of business, according to the affidavit. Ultimately, an $867,187 loan was approved for Argo Global, Inc.

 

Shortly after receiving the funds in Argo Global’s name, Manukyan allegedly transferred most of the balance to two of his personal bank accounts. When a bank investigator contacted Manukyan after one of his accounts had been frozen because of suspicious activity, he allegedly told the bank he was going to use the PPP loan to start a limousine business, contradicting what he wrote on his loan application, the affidavit states.

 

In June, Manukyan also allegedly submitted to Bank of America a loan application of $884,748 for Express Wiring, a shell company with a Glendale address. The Small Business Administration rejected the application, indicating it either had been submitted after the June 22 deadline for PPP loans or the allocated PPP funds had run out, according to the affidavit.

 

In July, a seizure warrant was executed on Manukyan’s bank accounts, recovering $866,019.

 

A search warrant executed at Manukyan’s home on July 22 revealed multiple debit cards used for unemployment benefits from the California Employment Development Department (EDD) that were in the names of different people, the affidavit states. Manukyan allegedly told law enforcement that he found two of the EDD cards on the street and decided to keep them, but insisted that he never used them. Investigators recovered another $118,474 from debit cards linked to Manukyan.

 

On August 9, law enforcement received information that Manukyan had boarded a flight from Mexico City inbound to Paris with a final destination of Minsk, Belarus, the affidavit states.

August 11, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) – A coronavirus vaccine should be mandatory, and tax penalties, higher insurance premiums, and denial of many government and private services ought to be considered for those refusing the shot, three doctors argued in USA Today on Thursday.

“[W]hile the measures that will be necessary to defeat the coronavirus will seem draconian, even anti-American to some, we believe that there is no alternative. Simply put, getting vaccinated is going to be our patriotic duty,” wrote Drs. Michael Lederman, Maxwell J. Mehlman, and Stuart Youngner.

The USA Today article, published August 6, is titled “Defeat COVID-19 by requiring vaccination for all. It's not un-American, it's patriotic.” Its original subhead (see screenshot below) read, “Make vaccines free, don't allow religious or personal objections, and punish those who won't be vaccinated. They are threatening the lives of others.” It has since been changed to “Make vaccines free, don't allow religious or personal objections, and create disincentives for those who refuse vaccines shown to be safe and effective.”

“When a vaccine is ready,” the doctors wrote, it must be free and exemptions must only be made for people with “medical contraindications to immunization.”

 

But “medical conditions that prohibit all COVID-19 vaccines will be rare,” they claimed. No religious or personal objections to receiving the shot or shots should be honored, they wrote, and harsh penalties should be adopted by important sectors of society to pressure the populace to comply.

 

The physicians proposed, “Private businesses could refuse to employ or serve unvaccinated individuals. Schools could refuse to allow unimmunized children to attend classes. Public and commercial transit companies — airlines, trains and buses — could exclude refusers. Public and private auditoriums could require evidence of immunization for entry.”

 

They then outlined how a “registry of immunization will be needed with names entered after immunization is completed.” People who receive the vaccine should be issued “certification cards” with expiration dates (“the durability of protection by different vaccines may vary and may require periodic booster immunizations”).

 

The concept of “immunization cards” or digital vaccine records was floated shortly before the coronavirus outbreak and since the virus has spread.

If I'm married and I make 150k, then I will pay

 

10% on the income from $0 to $19,750

12% on the income from $19,751 to $80,250

22% on the income from $80,251 to $150,000

 

If I am making $80k and get a raise to $81k, then I will only pay 22% on $750. It doesn't somehow push me into the 22% bracket for my entire income.

Likewise, if they excuse payroll tax up to say $100K and I make $150k, then I would pay $0 tax on $100k of my income and the remaining $50k would be taxed.

BOSTON – A California man was arrested and charged in an indictment unsealed today in federal court in Boston with illegally exporting cesium atomic clocks to Hong Kong.

 

Alex Yun Cheong Yue, 67, of South El Monte, Calif., was indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit export violations, two counts of unlawful exports and attempted exports of U.S. goods to Hong Kong, and one count of smuggling. Yue will appear this afternoon in federal court in Los Angeles. Wai Kay Victor Zee, 56, of Hong Kong, along with his company, Premium Tech Systems, Limited were also charged. The two defendants remain at large in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.

 

According to the charging document, beginning in December 2015, Yue, Zee, and Premium Tech conspired to procure U.S.-origin cesium atomic clocks and export them to Hong Kong without obtaining the required export licenses. Cesium atomic clocks are used in global positioning system solutions, network timing protocols, encryption programs, and national defense and space applications. They are controlled for export by the U.S. Department of Commerce for national security and anti-terrorism reasons.

 

To obtain the atomic clocks, Yue allegedly used a fictitious company, “Ecycle Tech International Ltd.,” to purchase them by falsely representing to the U.S. seller that the atomic clocks would be used solely in the United States for cordless phone research and development. Based on Yue’s false representations, the U.S. seller sold the cesium atomic clocks to Ecycle. On Feb. 19, 2016, the atomic clocks shipped from the manufacturing facility in Beverly, Mass., to Yue in California. Three days later, on Feb. 22, 2016, Yue reshipped the controlled cesium atomic clocks to Zee at Premium Tech in Hong Kong. Neither Yue, Zee, nor Premium Tech ever applied for or obtained the required export licenses from the U.S. Department of Commerce. On Feb. 24, 2016, Zee confirmed receipt of the cesium atomic clocks in Hong Kong.

 

In December 2017, Yue allegedly attempted to purchase an additional cesium atomic clock. Prior to the sale, however, the U.S. seller required Yue to provide an end-user statement detailing where and for what the clocks would be used. In April 2018, Yue sent an end-user certificate on Ecycle letterhead stating that the atomic clocks would be used in a calibration lab in California. It is alleged that in response to further inquiries from the U.S. seller, Yue falsely declared that he was not intending to export the cesium atomic clocks. When the U.S. seller insisted on a site visit to the California location where the atomic clocks would be utilized, Yue abruptly canceled the order. On July 13, 2018, Yue received a refund payment from the U.S. seller. Three days later, on July 16, 2018, Yue sent a wire transfer to Premium Tech’s bank account in Hong Kong with the refunded money.

 

The charge of conspiring to commit export violations and unlawfully exporting and attempting to export U.S. goods provides for a sentence of no greater than 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of $1 million. The charge of smuggling goods from the United States provides for a sentence of no greater than 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

 

United States Attorney Andrew Lelling; William Higgins, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Department of Commerce, Office of Export Enforcement, Boston Field Office; and Peter C. Fitzhugh, Special Agent in Charge of the Homeland Security Investigations in Boston, made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney George P. Varghese of Lelling’s National Security Unit is prosecuting the case.

 

The details contained in the charging documents are allegations. The defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Marc Elias, general counsel for Kamala Harris’s failed 2020 presidential campaign, encouraged Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign to take money from foreign entities according to an unearthed email thread. The 2015 email exchange is especially concerning in light of a recent National Counterintelligence and Security Center report identifying foreign entities such as the Chinese Communist Party aiming to secure a Joe Biden presidency. Elias, a lawyer for dozens of high-profile Democratic candidates including Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential bid, had been on Harris’s presidential campaign as its top lawyer since its inception. The trusted Harris adviser, however, was identified by Clinton’s 2016 campaign director as “convincing” the campaign they should take money from registered foreign agents – Americans who lobby on behalf of foreign countries, individuals, and businesses. Elias opposed a “bright-line rule” against universally opposing this source of cash, perhaps foreign.

 

In the email thread between high-level staffers of the Clinton campaign, participants attempted to make a decision on “allowing those lobbying on behalf of foreign governments to raise $ for the campaign,” as outlined by National Finance Director Dennis Cheng. Seemingly blind to the national security implications, Cheng fretted the campaign was “leaving a good amount of money on the table.” Failing to shun foreign lobbyists’ money entirely, Elias initially responded 19 minutes after Cheng’s April 13th email proposing the campaign vet prospective donors “case by case”: “This is really a straight up political call. One middle option is to take case by case. If, for example, they are FARA registered for Canada, we may not case. If for N. Korea we would. But really comm’s call.” Deputy National Press Secretary and Senior Spokesperson Jesse Ferguson inquired: “Is there anyway to ballpark what percent of our donor base this would apply to (aka how much money we’re throwing away) Cost benefits are easier to analyze with the costs. :)” The following document showed a host of potential donors to the Clinton campaign, with individuals lobbying on behalf of Iraq, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Per the table’s creator, this was “only 23 names of the first 350 prospective bundlers we looked at pre-launch. I anticipate more coming down the pipeline.” Some of the firms listed such as Squire Patton Boggs, have been hired to represent the Chinese Communist Party and its American embassy.

 

A day later, a phone call between Campaign Manager Robby Mook, Campaign Chairman John Podesta, Research Director Tony Carrk, and Campaign Vice-Chair Huma Abedin led to the decision the campaign would “not allow any currently registered foreign agents (those who register with FARA) to contribute or raise for the campaign. If someone terminates their registration, they would be allowed to contribute or raise for the campaign.” In that same email, the staffer inquires: “Marc, we’d especially like your perspective on adopting this policy.” Elias responded the following day, emphasizing he “lean[ed] away from a bright-line rule.” Continuing on, he made the case for allowing registered foreign agents to be able to raise money for the campaign, despite their conflicts of interest: “It seems odd to say that someone who represents Alberta, Canada can’t give, but a lobbyist for Phillip Morris can. Just as we vet lobbyists case by case, I would do the same with FARA. While this may lead to a large number of FARA registrants being denied, it would not be a flat our ban. A total ban feels arbitrary and will engender the same eye-rolling and ill will that it did for Obama.” After Mook inquired where the campaign would “draw the line,” Elias responded.

The founder and former CEO of an investment firm that specializes in debt instruments was arrested Tuesday on federal charges alleging he falsified financial records to fraudulently inflate the value of the funds he managed, allowing him to charge investors millions of dollars in unauthorized fees.

 

Brendan Ross, 47, of La Canada Flintridge, who founded Direct Lending Investments in 2012, was taken into custody by special agents of the FBI, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

 

In conjunction with the unsealing of the criminal case, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filed a civil complaint against Ross, alleging he defrauded investors.

 

The arrest stems from a grand jury indictment handed down July 30 that charges Ross with 10 counts of wire fraud based on a scheme he allegedly executed between late 2013 and early 2019 to defraud investors in funds managed by DLI, a firm he still owns. Each of the 10 wire fraud counts carries a sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison.

 

Ross resigned as CEO in March 2019, and soon after the SEC filed a civil complaint against DLI, which resulted in the appointment of a court-ordered receiver in early April 2019, prosecutors said.

 

By the summer of 2017, only five years after Ross founded DLI, the firm had over $1 billion in assets under management, according to court papers, which state that Ross directed DLI to invest the funds’ assets in, among other things, a company that loaned money to small businesses and retailers.

 

The DLI funds made money when the loans performed, meaning that the borrowers made timely payments. The indictment alleges that, rather than disclose some of the loans were not performing, Ross falsified monthly reports to make it appear borrowers were making payments.
