A Second Female Lawyer Who Worked at JPMorgan Chase Says Fraud Is Condoned at the Bank

 

The previous time a female lawyer who worked at JPMorgan Chase blew the whistle on frauds occurring inside the bank, the U.S. Department of Justice, along with other federal and state regulators, ended up charging the bank with selling toxic mortgage securities to investors and making JPMorgan Chase pay $13 billion to settle the charges.

 

That female lawyer was Alayne Fleischmann, as Matt Taibbi detailed in a report for Rolling Stone in 2014. Taibbi summarizes the matter as follows:

 

โ€œBack in 2006, as a deal manager at the gigantic bank, Fleischmann first witnessed, then tried to stop, what she describes as โ€˜massive criminal securities fraudโ€™ in the bankโ€™s mortgage operations.โ€

 

According to Fleischmann, who worked as a Transaction Manager at JPMorgan, her department was assigned with assuring that only good mortgage loans were securitized but, instead, under pressure from bosses, it waived in improperly underwritten mortgages that were likely to default. After failing to stop the fraudulent process with verbal warnings, Fleishmann memorialized the details in a long letter to a superior. She found herself dismissed in a round of layoffs.

 

On Thursday, a female attorney, Shaquala Williams, who had worked in compliance at JPMorgan Chase, came forward. Williams has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York with allegations that are so alarming that they should send the Justice Department, the bankโ€™s outside auditing firm and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors into a frenzy. According to the lawsuit, Williams has โ€œapproximately 12 years of experience in financial crimes compliance primarily for financial institutions.โ€ She joined JPMorgan Chase in June 2018 and was working in its Global Anti-Corruption Compliance group. After reporting serious misconduct by the bank, she alleges that the bank retaliated against her by firing her in October 2019.

 

Williams makes numerous, stunning allegations that the bank was falsely reporting to the Justice Department that it was in compliance with the non-prosecution agreement it had reached in 2016 when, in fact, it was simply reporting what the Justice Department wanted to hear while gaming the terms of the agreement.

While cleaning out a freezer in a Pennsylvania vaccine research facility, a lab worker discoveredseveral frozen vials labeled "smallpox," launching an FBI and CDC investigation, according to recent news reports.

 

Only two labs in the world โ€” a CDC lab in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Cold War-era bioweapons lab in Russia โ€” can legally hold samples of the deadly virus, Live Science previously reported. In the recent incident, a total of 15 vials โ€” five labeled "smallpox" and 10 labeled "vaccinia" (the virus used in smallpox vaccines) โ€” were discovered in the Merck facility, according to an "official use only" alert sent out to the Department of Homeland Security leadership on Tuesday (Nov. 16), and obtained by Yahoo News.

 

"There is no indication that anyone has been exposed to the small number of frozen vials," the CDC said in a statement to Yahoo News. "The laboratory worker who discovered the vials was wearing gloves and a face mask." The CDC, its administration partners and law enforcement are now investigating the matter, according to the statement. "We will provide further details as they are available," the CDC said.

LAPD used secretive AI surveillance software to spy on general public's social media accounts

 

The Los Angeles Police Department trialed an artificial intelligence program designed to pinpoint users likely to commit crimes using their friends lists, location data and analyses of their social media posts.

 

A trove of internal LAPD documents obtained by the Brennan Center for Justice reveal that the department tried out Voyager Labs' software in 2019, and considered a long-term contract before the four-month trial ended in November of that year.

 

The software was used to surveil 500 social media accounts and sift through thousands of messages during that period, according to The Guardian.

 

Police said that data was used to get 'real-time tactical intelligence,' 'protective intelligence' for members of local government and the police department and to investigate cases related to gangs and hate groups.

 

A sales pitch sent to the LAPD by the firm lays bare the capabilities of the software, which can rapidly amass a suspect's social media posts into a searchable interface, use AI to gauge whether those posts show indicators of extremism or criminal activity and surveil thousands of associated accounts.

 

Voyager Labs claims that their software can go further than scanning text for keywords. Using AI, their programs can gauge a user's conviction to their ideologies using what they call 'sentiment analysis' and determine whether an individual with extremist views has the 'passion needed to act on their beliefs.'

UK Govt Returns Just FIVE out of More than 23,000 Illegal Boat Migrants to EU

 

British authorities have returned just five illegal boat migrants to the European Union out of more than 23,500 that have landed this year.

 

Immigration Minister Tom Pursglove made the admission during a House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee on Wednesday, saying there had been โ€œdifficulties around securing returnsโ€.

 

Committee chairman Yvette Cooper had asked how many migrants arriving by boat since January of this year had been returned to the last safe EU country they had travelled through, to which Mr Pursglove replied, according to the Evening Standard: โ€œOn returns related to small boat arrivalsโ€ฆ the answer in this year is five.โ€

 

With current figures at around 23,500 arrivals, that is a returns rate of approximately 0.02 per cent.

 

Mr Pursglove attempted to blame the situation on a lack of a โ€œreturns agreementโ€ with the EU post-Brexit, โ€œnot least as a consequence of Covidโ€.

 

But even while the UK was still abiding by Brussels rules during the transition period โ€” which ended on December 31st, 2020 โ€” under the blocโ€™s Dublin regulations, just 105 of 8,502 illegals were returned last year, according to reports from March.

 

Pursglove also acknowledged that the British government needed to โ€œsever the perception that getting in a small boat and coming to the UK will mean you stay in the UKโ€.

 

Brexit leader Nigel Farage suggested on Wednesday that another problem is the generosity of the British welfare state compared to countries like France from which the vast majority of illegals from the Third World depart, noting: โ€œThe French do not offer 4 star hotels, free health care, mobile phones and spending money.โ€

 

The comments follow similar remarks from Mr Farage earlier this week, when he condemned the governmentโ€™s use of British taxpayer money to sustain vast numbers of illegals arriving by boat, which act as a pull for mass migration.

Al Swealmeen had arrived in the UK in 2014 and twice lost his bid to obtain refugee status, yet was allowed to remain in the country for six years.

 

Sources in the Home Office claimed that they believed the suicide bomber had tried to โ€œgame the systemโ€ by pretending to convert from Islam to Christianity, with the knowledge it could increase the likelihood of him being allowed to stay as he could face prosecution if returned to the Middle East as an apostate.

Philippines Tells China to โ€˜Back Offโ€™ in South China Sea

 

The Philippines has told China to โ€œback offโ€ from its territorial zone, reporting that three ships from the Chinese coastguard had blocked and used water cannons on two Filipino supply boats en route to a Philippine-occupied shoal in the disputed South China Sea.

 

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin said on Nov. 18 that the Filipino boats were transporting food supplies to military personnel stationed in Ayungin Shoal (Second Thomas Shoal) on Nov. 16 when they were forced to abort the mission.

 

Second Thomas Shoal lies off western Palawan province in the Philippinesโ€™ internationally recognised exclusive economic zone. The Philippines has occupied the shoal since 1999 after intentionally grounding a navy ship on the reef.

 

โ€œAyungin Shoal is part of the Kalayaan Island Group (KIG), which is an integral part of the Philippines, as well as the Philippinesโ€™ exclusive economic zone and continental shelf, and over which the Philippines has sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction,โ€ Locsin wrote in a statement shared on social media by the foreign ministry.

 

The Philippine government also condemned the three Chinese coastguard vesselsโ€™ illegal actions, directing them to โ€œtake the heed and back off,โ€ reminding China that a public vessel is covered under the Philippines-United States Mutual Defence Treaty.

Japan Tells China Peace, Stability in Taiwan Strait Are Important

 

TOKYOโ€”Japanese foreign minister Yoshimasa Hayashi on Thursday emphasised to his Chinese counterpart that peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait are important, while also expressing โ€œdeep concernโ€ about the situations in Hong Kong and Xinjiang.

The Western countriesโ€™ actions that aggravate the situation can be seen not only in the Black Sea but also in other regions close to the Russian borders, Putin said.

Judicial Watch Warns 14 Counties in Five States to Clean Voter Registration Lists or Face Federal Lawsuits

 

Judicial Watch announced today that it sent letters to election officials in 14 counties and five statesโ€”Arkansas, California, Illinois, New York, and Oregonโ€”notifying them of evident violations of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993. The letters detail how these statesโ€™ own reported data show that their counties removed an โ€œabsurdly lowโ€ or โ€œimpossibleโ€ number of inactive voter registrations under key provisions of the NVRA. The letters threaten federal lawsuits unless the violations are corrected in a timely fashion.

 

The NVRA requires states to โ€œconduct a general program that makes a reasonable effort to removeโ€ from the official voter rolls โ€œthe names of ineligible votersโ€ who have died or changed residence. Among other things, the NVRA requires registrations to be cancelled when voters fail to respond to address confirmation notices and then fail to vote in the next two general federal elections. In 2018, the Supreme Court confirmed that such removals are mandatory (Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Inst., 138 S. Ct. 1833, 1841-42 (2018)).

 

States are required by federal law to report data concerning their removal programs to the federal Election Assistance Commission (EAC). Every few years the EAC publishes this data as part of a report it provides to Congress. The most recent report and accompanying datasets were released in August of this year.

 

The data show that many U.S. counties reported mere handfuls of removalsโ€”and often no removalsโ€”of registrants who failed to respond to an address confirmation and failed to vote for two consecutive elections. To identify counties that are chronically behind in removing outdated registrations, Judicial Watch looked at the last four years of reported data, from November 2016 through November 2020. It found that some of the largest counties in the country reported absurdly low removal numbers under the NVRAโ€™s statutory removal procedure for change of address during that period. Lawmakers concerned taxpayers funding industry 'powered by Uyghur slave labor'

 

A U.S. agency formed to counter China's economic expansionism is facing pressure from the Biden administration to ramp up investments in solar energy projects, including ones that source materials from China, prompting concerns from Republican lawmakers that taxpayers may be funding an industry that is deeply embedded with slave labor.

 

The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), which was established under the Trump administration to provide a "robust alternative" for countries that might otherwise seek funding from China and other autocratic governments, is currently invested in 18 solar energy projects deriving materials from Chinese companies, according to Sen. Jim Risch (R., Idaho), who has been leading inquiries into the DFC's China-related financing. That number accounts for 85 percent of the DFC's active solar projects.

 

"The entire U.S. governmentโ€”including the DFCโ€”has to make sure that U.S. assistance and development finance do not touch forced labor in any way, shape, or form," Risch, the ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told the Washington Free Beacon. "President Biden's climate agenda should not be powered by Uyghur slave labor."

 

Questions about the DFC's projects come as the agency has faced behind-the-scenes pressure from the White House to increase its financing of foreign solar projects, congressional sources told the Free Beacon. The funding also highlights a growing problem for the Biden administration, whose ambitious climate agendaโ€”and prioritization of a solar industry dominated by Chinaโ€”has complicated U.S. efforts to crack down on human rights abuses by Beijing. Republicans claim that climate envoy John Kerry, who last week dismissed human rights abuses in China's solar industry as "not my lane," has been privately lobbying Congress against a bill that would ban goods made with Uyghur forced labor, the Free Beacon reported last week.

 

The Biden administration "let us know that there is a desire to use DFC to finance solar panel projects," one Republican congressional aide told the Free Beacon. "But that it's possible there's not safeguards in place to ensure solar panels aren't tied to forced labor."

 

China produces more than 80 percent of the world's polysilicon, the primary material in solar panels. Most of that supply is produced by manufacturers that use or benefit from forced labor of Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang region, according to a report released this year by Sheffield Hallam University's Helena Kennedy Center for Justice.

 

The report, which linked more than 100 companies to labor abuses using public records, concluded that "the vast majority of the [People's Republic of China's] solar supply chain is at very high risk of being tainted by forced labour in the Uyghur region."

Pelosi on $550 billion climate spending: 'For me, it's a religious thing'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that the Democrats' effort to dedicate over $550 billion of taxpayer funding toward climate change initiatives in President Biden's Build Back Better Act has a religious meaning.

 

"For me, it's a religious thing. I believe this is God's creation and we have moral obligation to be good stewards. But if you don't share that view, you must share the view that we have an obligation to future generations," Pelosi, who was raised Catholic, said at a news conference. "So we're very excited about what is in there and it is paid for."

 

Biden's bill also continues the Democrats' expansion of the Child Tax Credit that passed in the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act, a coronavirus stimulus bill. For the first time, parents not earning income can claim the Child Tax Credit on their tax returns up to $3,600 per child, depending on their age.

 

"It's about health care for our children, clean air, clean water, it's about jobs, jobs, jobs; good paying union jobs, to keep us preeminent in green technologies throughout the world," Pelosi said.

 

The California Democrat also touted the universal pre-K provisions of the bill.

 

"This legislation is so historic. It is so transformative," she said. "Free, universal pre-K. Childcare, we're lowering the costs."

 

Moderate Democrats have called for the Congressional Budget Office to "score" the cost of the bill before a final vote occurs. Democratic leaders are using the budget reconciliation process for the bill to avoid the legislative filibuster in the 50-50 Senate. Pelosi said she expects the score to be released on Thursday and a final vote to occur in the evening or on Friday.

Moderna, Pfizer and BioNTech โ€” the makers of the two most successful coronavirus vaccines โ€” are raking in a combined $65,000 in profits every minute as they refuse to share their manufacturing recipes with developing countries, where billions of people still lack access to lifesaving shots.

 

According to a new Peopleโ€™s Vaccine Alliance analysis of recent earnings reports, Peopleโ€™s Vaccine Alliance, โ€œIt is obscene that just a few companies are making millions of dollars in profit every single hour while just two percent of people in low-income countries have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus,โ€ said Maaza Seyoum of the Peopleโ€™s Vaccine Alliance Africa.

 

โ€œPfizer, BioNTech, and Moderna have used their monopolies to prioritize the most profitable contracts with the richest governments, leaving low-income countries out in the cold.โ€

 

Moderna โ€” a Massachusetts-based company that developed its vaccine with the help of government research and around $10 billion in taxpayer funding โ€” has delivered just 0.2 percent of its total vaccine supply to low-income countries, the Peopleโ€™s Vaccine Alliance estimates. The coronavirus vaccine is Modernaโ€™s only product on the market.

 

Pfizer and its Germany-based partner BioNTech โ€” whose vaccine was also helped along by taxpayer money โ€” havenโ€™t done much better than their competitor, sending less than 1 percent of their supply to poor nations while profiting hugely from sales to rich countries.

 

โ€œPredominantly, right now, we have already signed orders, and those are with high-income countries,โ€ Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla recently said of coronavirus vaccine sales for next year, blaming poor countries for not ordering shots quickly enough.

 

โ€œWe are negotiating right now with few middle-income countries, and with even fewer low-income countries,โ€ Bourla said.

 

But public health campaigners argue that bilateral deals and vaccine donations are not sufficient to bring production and distribution into line with global needs. Instead, they say, pharmaceutical giants must relinquish their vaccine recipes and allow qualified manufacturers around the world to produce low-cost generic versions for their populations.

Taiwan: Post-Vaccination Deaths in 3 Days Exceed Covid Deaths Over 14 Months

 

At the end of October, we wrote that there had been 830 Covid deaths after the launch of Taiwanโ€™s Covid injection campaign. Additionally, 982 people died after receiving a Covid injection. According to Worldometer there has been one Covid death since our previous article, making the total Covid deaths since the launch of the injection campaign 831. But deaths post-Covid injection continue to rise.

 

Taiwan confirmed its first coronavirus case on 21 January 2020 and from then up to the day Taiwanโ€™s Covid injection campaign began, 22 March 2021, there had been 17 Covid deaths.

 

As of 16 November, according to Taiwanโ€™s VAERS, 1,090 people had died post-Covid injection โ€“ an increase of 108 in the 18 days since our last article. An average of 6 per day. In just three days as many had died due to a โ€œsuspected serious eventโ€ post-injection (18) as had died with Covid during the 14 months Jan 2020 โ€“ March 2021 (17).

In the same 18-day period an additional 3,7 million doses of Covid injections had been administered. Below are some observations. They are merely observations and in no way intended to be taken as proof of causation but it would be worth checking in the future to see if these observations continue and so become trends.

 

Despite relatively similar additional number of doses of AstraZeneca and BioNTech, there are more than double the additional post-injection deaths relating to AstraZeneca. There were a high number of additional AstraZeneca second doses administered which could imply the second dose is more deadly than the first, assuming all โ€œvaccinesโ€ are equal.

 

Moderna, like AstraZeneca, has a proportionally high number of second doses recently administered. It has almost the same number of post-injection deaths as AstraZeneca although only half of the number of additional doses. Based on these numbers, and ignoring any underlying factors or variables, Moderna seems twice as deadly as AstraZeneca.

Israeli Defense Minister House Cleaner Accused Of Spying For Iran-Linked Hacking Group

 

An Israeli man who worked as a house cleaner for Defense Minister Benny Gantz was recently arrested for offering to spy on the minister on behalf of Iran, the Israeli Security Agency, Shin Bet, announced on November 18.

 

The Shin Bet said that the man, Omri Goren, was arrested shortly after he contacted the Iran-linked hacking group Black Shadow, and before he could do any damage.

 

Goren was accused of espionage, a crime that carries a sentence of 10 to 15 years in Israel. The The 37-year-old Lod resident had many run-ins with the law in the past. Between 2002 and 2013, he was found guilty of crimes five times, including two convictions for bank robbery and others for theft and breaking-and-entering.

 

Goren contacted a representative of the Black Shadow group, which recently hacked a popular Israeli LGBT dating site. He offered the group to transfer information from Gantzโ€™s house in exchange for money.

 

According to the Shin Bet, Goren discussed the possibility of installing malware on Gantzโ€™s computer. The malware would have given the Iranian-linked hacking group access to the ministerโ€™s device.

 

In order to prove his ability and sincerity, Goren took photographs of Gantzโ€™s desk, computer, phone and tablet, a closed safe and a shredder, pictures of Gantz and his family and a copy of the ministerโ€™s local property tax payments then sent them to the Black Shadow group.

 

โ€œIt should be stressed that in light of operational security protocols in the ministerโ€™s house, Omri was not exposed to classified materials and therefore no such documents were transferred to the figures with whom he was in contact,โ€ the Shin Bet said.

 

Gorenโ€™s case exposes some serious flaws in Israelโ€™s security. The Shin Beit has already launched an internal review of the way background checks are performed for workers in ministersโ€™ homes.

Ohio Attorney General Sues Facebook for Securities Fraud, Alleging the Company Misled Investors

 

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced on Monday that he has filed a lawsuit against Facebook, claiming the company misled and deceived investors in an effort to boost the price of its stock.

 

Yost, a Republican, filed the lawsuit on behalf of the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), which has invested millions in Facebook stock. Also named as defendants are Facebook executives Mark Zuckerberg, David M. Wehner, and Nick Clegg.

 

The multi-pronged lawsuit alleges that โ€œfrom April 29 through Oct. 21, 2021 Facebook and its senior executives violated federal securities laws by purposely misleading the public about the negative effects its products have on the health and well-being of children and the steps the company has taken to protect the public,โ€ and by inflating its user numbers, thus defrauding investors.

 

โ€œThis matter arises from an egregious breach of public trust by Facebook, which knowingly exploited its most vulnerable usersโ€”including children throughout the worldโ€”in order to drive corporate profits,โ€ the lawsuit contends. โ€œAt the same time, Defendants repeatedly misrepresented to investors and the public that use of Facebookโ€™s products does not harm children, that the Company takes aggressive and effective measures to stop the spread of harmful content, and that Facebook applies its standards of behavior equally to all users.โ€

Bank of America Initiates a Pilot Program Separating Vaccinated From Unvaccinated Employees

 

A source who works with Bank of America has disclosed a pilot program beginning Nov. 18 that plans to separate vaccinated from unvaccinated employees at an administration building in Jacksonville, Florida.

Then, fears over the Delta variant sent many back home and became the platform on which President Joe Biden announced his vaccine mandate policy in September when he had directed the Department of Labor to develop a rule requiring all employers with 100 or more employees to get vaccinated by Jan. 4, 2022.

Global Europol taskforce identifies 18 child victims of sexual abuse

 

A total of 18 children have been tentatively identified and two offenders apprehended as a result of the 10th edition of Europolโ€™s Victim Identification Taskforce (VIDTF). Nine of these young victims have already been rescued by the competent authorities, with investigations ongoing to safeguard the others.

 

The VIDTF is a Europol initiative which this year gathered specialists from 26 countries and partner agencies to identify victims and offenders depicted in child sexual abuse material.

 

Between 25 October and 5 November 2021, these experts combed through some 580 sets of images and video files depicting unknown victims of child sexual abuse, some as young as a few days old. They were supported by Europol specialists and intelligence analysts in the field of combating the sexual exploitation of children.

In addition to the 18 children identified, the likely country of production has been located in 211 instances and intelligence packages sent by Europol to the relevant countries for investigation.

 

Officers from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, the United States, Europol and INTERPOL took part in the 10th VIDTF.

Combining efforts to rescue children

 

Since 2014, Europol has been gathering victim identification specialists from across the world on a regular basis in order to focus on unsolved cases of child sexual abuse.

The VIDTF is the largest recurring operation of its kind in the world, and has inspired a number of similar initiatives at the national and regional levels, such as in Italy and Australia.

Now in its 10th iteration, the VIDTF has yielded the following results since it was first convened:

 

290 specialists from over 35 countries have taken part in this operational activity;

A likely country of production was identified in 1 726 instances;

Over 533 children have been safeguarded and 182 offenders arrested as a result of the VIDTF operations.

 

Europolโ€™s Executive Director Catherine de Bolle said: โ€œChanging global circumstances in recent decades have changed the way child abusers commit their crimes and hide their tracks. Results such as these from the VIDTF show that law enforcement has kept up with these changes and built a formidable united front against this type of crime. This is echoed by the publicโ€™s support through the Trace An Object initiative, and together we can hopefully rescue more children and infants from abuse and sexual exploitation.โ€

 

Public appeal for help

 

You can help us identify the origin of certain objects as part of Europolโ€™s Trace An Object initiative. Non-confrontational details of images extracted from child sexual abuse cold cases are regularly made public, in the hope that someone recognises a detail that will help narrow down the location of the victim.

 

27 000 tips have already been sent to Europol, which have led to the identification of 23 children and to the prosecution of 5 offenders.

 

Europol is releasing today a new set of images in the hope that these can be identified by the general public.

What Is Smallpox?

 

Smallpox is an extremely contagious and deadly virus for which there is no known cure. The last known case occurred in the United States in 1949 and due to worldwide vaccination programs, this disease has been completely eradicated. Smallpox is also known as variola.

 

Since the time of ancient Egypt, smallpox has proven to be one of the most devastating diseases to humankind. Widespread smallpox epidemics and huge death tolls fill the pages of our history books.

 

The first smallpox vaccine was created in 1758Trusted Source. However, the disease continued to infect and kill people on a widespread basis for another 200 years. The World Health Organization (WHO) implemented a strict vaccination standard in order to slow the infection rate. The last known natural case occurred in 1977Trusted Source in Somalia.

 

By 1980Trusted Source, the WHO declared that smallpox had been completely eradicated, although government and health agencies still have stashes of smallpox virus for research purposes.

 

People no longer receive routine smallpox vaccinations. The smallpox vaccine can have potentially fatal side effects, so only the people who are at high risk of exposure get the vaccine.

 

What Are the Symptoms of Smallpox?

Historical accounts show that when someone was infected with the smallpox virus, they had no symptoms for between seven and 17 days. However, once the incubation period (or virus development phase) was over, the following flu-like symptoms occurred:

 

high fever

chills

headache

severe back pain

abdominal pain

vomiting

These symptoms would go away within two to three days. Then the patient would feel better. However, just as the patient started to feel better, a rash would appear. The rash started on the face and then spread to the hands, forearms, and the main part of the body. The person would be highly contagious until the rash disappeared.

 

Within two days of appearance, the rash would develop into abscesses that filled with fluid and pus. The abscesses would break open and scab over. The scabs would eventually fall off, leaving pit mark scars. Until the scabs fell off, the person remained contagious.

 

Types of Smallpox

There were two common and two rare forms of smallpox. The two common forms were known as variola minor and variola major.

 

Variola minor was a less fatal type of smallpox. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that only 1 percent of those infected died. However, it was less common than variola major.

 

The CDC estimates that 90 percent of smallpox cases were variola major. Historically, this type of smallpox killed 30 percent of those infected.

 

The two rare forms of smallpox were known as hemorrhagic and malignant. Both of these rare forms of smallpox carried a very high fatality rate.

 

Hemorrhagic smallpox caused organs to leak blood into the mucous membranes and skin.

 

Malignant smallpox lesions did not develop into pustules or pus-filled bumps on the skin. Instead, they remained soft and flat throughout the entire illness.

 

How Do You Catch Smallpox?

One of the reasons smallpox was so dangerous and deadly is because itโ€™s an airborne disease. Airborne diseases tend to spread fast.

 

Coughing, sneezing, or direct contact with any bodily fluids could spread the smallpox virus. In addition, sharing contaminated clothing or bedding could lead to infection.

 

Treatment for Smallpox

There is no cure for the smallpox virus. As a result of worldwide, repeated vaccination programs, the variola virus (smallpox) has been completely eradicated. The only people considered to be at risk for smallpox are researchers who work with it in a laboratory setting.

 

In the unlikely event that an exposure to the smallpox virus occurs, vaccination within one to three days can keep the illness from being so severe. In addition, antibiotics can help to reduce the bacterial infections associated with the virus.

โ€œTissues obtained through ABR are retrieved from routinely performed surgical procedures including first and second-trimester induced abortions, and full term deliveries, either natural or caesarian section,โ€ the document states.

 

In 2017, the U.S. Department of Justice launched a federal investigation into ABR for allegedly illegally selling the body parts of unborn babies for profit after two Congressional committees submitted criminal referrals to the DOJ, CMP reported.

A career criminal and convicted felon with an open domestic violence charge has claimed to be the unidentified male at whom Kyle Rittenhouse shot twice at close range but missed, on the night of August 25, 2020.

Rittenhouse has been charged with First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety of the man known in trial only as 'jump-kick man,' for the flying kick he took at the teenager's head as Rittenhouse was attacked minutes after he shot Joseph Rosenbaum dead.

Now Maurice Freeland, 39, has admitted that he was the one who kicked Rittenhouse in the head and narrowly avoided being shot as a result, after the then 17-year-old stumbled to the ground as he attempted to flee.

Moments later Anthony Huber swung at Rittenhouse with his skateboard for a second time, grabbing for the AR-15 that was slung across his chest. Rittenhouse fired once, shooting Huber in the chest at point blank range.

Gaige Grosskreutz was next, advancing on Rittenhouse with a Glock 27 in his hand. He was shot in his right bicep for his efforts.

The state has painted all these actors as heroes attempting to take down an 'active shooter.'

DailyMail.com has already revealed that both Huber and Grosskreutz have lengthy and violent criminal histories, with the latter having a history of lying to police.

Now it has emerged that the same is true of 'jump-kick man' who was on bond that night for an alleged assault on his girlfriend that included kicking her in the ribcage having thrown her to the floor.

Freeland made his claim to being the 'unidentified complainant,' in the second of the five counts over which the jury is currently deliberating, to local news website Wisconsin Right Now.

WISN 1130 talk radio host Dan O'Donnell broke the story that prosecutors had identified the man Tuesday, but did not name him.

It is not known when the state learned Freeland's identity, but it has been confirmed that he had wanted immunity before he would testify, and that Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger would not grant it.

McDuffie told officers that she taken Freeland's car keys early that evening 'believing neither [she nor he] were in a state that was safe to drive in.' Freeland 'became angry,' and, after a friend had driven them home, he became violent.

According to the criminal complaint, 'Maurice began to yellโ€ฆand punched the drywall in multiple spots. The two began to 'tussle' and while this was occurring, Monalisa reported Maurice punched her three times in her chest, causing her pain.'

McDuffie told police that Freeland 'threw her to the ground and kicked her in her lower right ribcageโ€ฆthen began punching the television.'

She fled out of the back door, dropping her phone as she ran. She told police that as she did so Freeland 'yelled something to the effect of, 'you better run bitch, I'll kill you.'

Officers found 'fist-sized' holes in the drywall, blood on Freeland's knuckles and dried blood around the collar of McDuffie's shirt which 'appeared to be stretched out.'

It is just one of several open cases against Freeland whose record in Kenosha County spans 25 charges across more than 20 years in Kenosha County and includes acts of criminal violence, destruction of property, possession of controlled substances, traffic offenses, family court violations and escape from custody.

Most recent records date back three years and cover a multitude of charges. The most recent saw him incarcerated in May and released October 24.

The charges include battery, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and several traffic violations including driving a vehicle while on a suspended sentence.

What charges does Kyle Rittenhouse face?

Kyle Rittenhouse shot three men, killing two of them and wounding the third, during a protest against police brutality in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last year. Rittenhouse has argued that he fired in self-defense after the men attacked him.

Here's a look at the charges that prosecutors carried into court, as well as lesser charges that the judge could put before the jury in final instructions:

COUNT 1: FIRST-DEGREE RECKLESS HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

This felony charge is connected to the death of Joseph Rosenbaum, the first man Rittenhouse shot. Bystander video shows Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse through a parking lot and throwing a plastic bag at him. Rittenhouse flees behind a car and Rosenbaum follows. Video introduced at trial showed Rittenhouse wheeling around and firing as Rosenbaum chased him. Richie McGinniss, a reporter who was trailing Rittenhouse, testified that Rosenbaum lunged for Rittenhouse's gun.

Reckless homicide differs from intentional homicide in that prosecutors aren't alleging Rittenhouse intended to murder Rosenbaum. Instead, they're alleging Rittenhouse caused Rosenbaum's death in circumstances showing an utter disregard for human life.

Former Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher said prosecutors' decision to charge reckless instead of intentional homicide shows they don't know what happened between Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum and what might have been going through Rittenhouse's mind when he pulled the trigger.

The charge is punishable by up to 60 years in prison. The dangerous weapon modifier carries an additional five years.

Prosecutors asked Judge Bruce Schroeder to let the jury also consider a lesser charge, second-degree reckless homicide, that does not require a finding that Rittenhouse acted with utter disregard for human life. It's punishable by up to 25 years in prison. But after Rittenhouse's attorneys objected, Schroeder said he did not plan to give that instruction. He said he expected that a guilty verdict on that count would be overturned because the defense objected to adding it.

Daniel Andrews takes another swipe at protesters for 'ugly scenes' outside state parliament rallying over pandemic bill

 

The Premier told demonstrators they can "threaten me all they like" but the focus of his government is to keep the economy open as he stressed how important the coronavirus vaccine will be in helping Victoria avoid another lockdown.

 

Premier Daniel Andrews has sent a stern warning to thousands of protesters that his government will not be "intimated into cowering away from our duty".

 

Mr Andrews was announcing an easing of the majority of restrictions in Victoria when he was asked by a reporter for his opinion on the demonstrators on the steps of parliament rallying against the proposed pandemic bill that will be voted on in the upper house.

 

"To all those, you know, complaining about a lockdown โ€ฆ we're not in a lockdown because the Victorian community didnโ€™t listen to you. They went and got vaccinated instead," he said during Thursday's COVID-19 press conference.

 

"Itโ€™s (pandemic bill) about keeping us open for heavenโ€™s sake. Thatโ€™s what the rules are for."

 

He said ordinary Victorians were not "led down the path" by "extreme anti-vaxxers" causing "ugly scenes".

 

"Violence doesnโ€™t work against this, science does though," Mr Andrews said.

 

"Division doesnโ€™t work against this but a unified community does and thatโ€™s what Victorians should be absolutely proud of. Iโ€™m proud of them. And Iโ€™m deeply grateful to them."

 

The Premier, who has received death threats to himself and his family in recent weeks, said residents against the mandates and bill could "threaten me all they like" but he was determined each day to do "what is right and what is evidence-based" for Victorians.

 

He also double down on comments he made on Wednesday arguing the state would not be opened like it was now and hospitals would be "bursting" if a Premier was "beholden" by protesters.

 

โ€œPeople can threaten me all they like. They can threaten my wife and my kids all they like," he said.

 

"Itโ€™s the safety of every family that gets me up every morning and sees me to bed very late at every night working as hard as I can for our state."

Mr Andrews then called out ministers who were playing "political games" with the controversial pandemic bill.

 

"Iโ€™m so deeply grateful that some people (ministers) have stood at the backdoor professing to be constructive and work together while their colleagues are standing out the front alongside extremists," he said.

 

"Thatโ€™s not democracy. Thatโ€™s political games."

Video shows an unknown man leaping at Rittenhouse and trying to kick him seconds before Anthony Huber moves his skateboard toward him. Rittenhouse appears to fire two rounds at the man but apparently misses as the man runs away.

This charge is a felony punishable by 12 1/2 years in prison. The weapons modifier again would add up to five more years.

Schroeder said he would decline prosecutors' request that jurors be allowed to consider this charge in the second degree.

COUNT 4: FIRST-DEGREE INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

This charge is connected to Huber's death. Video shows Rittenhouse running down the street after shooting Rosenbaum when he falls to the street. Huber leaps at him and swings a skateboard at his head and neck and tries to grab Rittenhouse's gun before Rittenhouse fires. The criminal complaint alleges Rittenhouse aimed the weapon at Huber.

Intentional homicide means just that - a person killed someone and meant to do it. Bucher said that if Rittenhouse pointed the gun at Huber and pulled the trigger that would amount to intentional homicide. However, self-defense would trump the charge.

'Why I intended to kill this individual makes the difference,' Bucher said.

The count carries a mandatory life sentence. The weapons modifier would add up to five years.

Prosecutors asked Schroeder to give the jury the option of second-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide and second-degree reckless homicide in Huber's death. The defense objected only to the second-degree reckless homicide charge, and Schroeder said he 'embraced' that argument.

Second-degree intentional homicide is a fallback charge when a defendant believed he was in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm and that it was necessary to use force - but either belief was unreasonable. It's punishable by up to 60 years in prison.

The first-degree reckless homicide charge sought in Huber's death matches an original charge in Rosenbaum's death - it would require jurors to decide that Rittenhouse caused Huber's death with an utter disregard for human life - and is punishable by up to 60 years in prison.

COUNT 5: ATTEMPTED FIRST-DEGREE INTENTIONAL HOMICIDE, USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

This is the charge for Rittenhouse shooting Gaige Grosskreutz in the arm seconds after he shot Huber, and as Grosskreutz came toward him holding a pistol. Grosskreutz survived. Video shows Rittenhouse pointing his gun at Grosskreutz and firing a single round.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 60 years. The weapons modifier would add up to five more years.

Prosecutors asked that the jury be allowed to consider lesser counts in the Grosskreutz shooting: second-degree attempted intentional homicide, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree reckless endangerment. Defense attorneys didn't oppose the first, but did oppose adding the reckless endangerment counts. Schroeder didn't rule but said he was inclined to side with prosecutors.

The possible punishment for attempted second-degree intentional homicide is 30 years.

DISMISSED - COUNT 6: POSSESSION OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON BY A PERSON UNDER 18

Rittenhouse was armed with an AR-style semi-automatic rifle. He was 17 years old on the night of the shootings. Wisconsin law prohibits minors from possessing firearms except for hunting. It was not clear on Friday what Schroeder intends to tell jurors about that charge.

The charge is a misdemeanor punishable by up to nine months behind bars.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed restrictive measures on dozens of employees of the Russian special service, according to a decree published on Nov. 18 on the presidential website.

The truck was referred for a canine and non-intrusive imaging system inspection, resulting in the discovery of 400 packages containing 1,013.68 pounds of alleged marijuana within the shipment. The narcotics combined had an estimated street value of $53,299,099.

Meanwhile, Food & Wine magazine reports a 30-year-old Polish truck driver traveling into the U.K. from France was found to have 418 kilos of cocaine hidden amongst a load of frozen onion rings. Authorities estimate that the drugs would have had a street value of around $44 million.

Fox News obtained a Wisconsin Department of Justice criminal background on Omarova that revealed Omarova was arrested in Madison in 1995 and charged with a misdemeanor for "retail theft" after she was singlehandedly caught by a T.J. Maxx security guard for stealing $214 worth of merchandise (in today's money that's approximately $379).

 

The report said the security agent told police that Omarova stuffed items into a large purse while concealing the bag with clothing on top. She paid for several things at the jewelry counter but "made no attempt to pay for the items concealed in her purse," Fox News said. As she left the store, she was confronted by the security agent who arrested her.

 

Omarova "immediately requested the opportunity to pay for the items" and was "cooperative" as the security agent said he would "sign a complaint" about the items being taken "without his consent."

 

The police report said she "waived" her rights and "admitted to having stolen the items."

 

"It should be noted that I advised Omarova she was under arrest prior to having read her rights," the officer wrote in the police report.

 

The nonprofit American Accountability Foundation tweeted her case file and said, "Omarova has no respect for our laws, system of government, or our economy. But Biden wants to put her in charge of American banks."
