The Senate Ukraine Caucus is a bipartisan[1] caucus of the United States Senate that was inaugurated on February 9, 2015 in Washington, D.C. Its mission is "to strengthen the political, military, economic, and cultural relationship between the United States and Ukraine."

Democratic Party activists in Wisconsin have filed a suit in federal court arguing that a pro-Trump senator and two pro-Trump congressmen should be barred from office for speaking out on 2020 election irregularities and allegedly attempting to manipulate the congressional certification of the presidential election results.

 

The Wisconsin Republican lawmakers targeted by the suit are two-term Sen. Ron Johnson, two-term Rep. Tom Tiffany, and freshman Rep. Scott Fitzgerald. All are seeking reelection in November.

 

The suit claims the lawmakers cannot serve in Congress because the disqualification clause in Section 3 of the 14th Amendment forbids it. That rarely invoked constitutional provision was enacted in the wake of the Civil War to keep former Confederates out of Congress.

 

Johnson dismissed the lawsuit, telling The Epoch Times it is “total nonsense.”

 

“Democrats have ignored the Summer 2020 riots and relentlessly used January 6th [2021] as a political cudgel,” Johnson said in an emailed statement. “Now, they’ve used January 6th to file a frivolous lawsuit against me, similar to the one dismissed by a court last week.”

 

The lawsuit claims the lawmakers “used their public positions of authority to illegally foment an atmosphere meant to intimidate and pressure Vice President [Mike] Pence and Congress to take actions inconsistent with the facts and with their duties under the Electoral Count Act and the U.S. Constitution.”

 

The lawmakers used “their powers as public officials and their respective bully pulpits to undermine public trust in the outcome of the election and to enable a criminal scheme to institute fraudulent electors (in Wisconsin and elsewhere) to manufacture a constitutional crisis on January 6, 2021, over how to count the electoral ballots.”

 

The legal action claims the lawmakers illegally pressured Pence, in his role as presiding officer at the joint session of Congress certifying the 2020 electoral votes on Jan. 6, 2021, to “unilaterally reject the legitimate electoral votes of Wisconsin and six other states for the Biden–Harris ticket.”

 

On Jan. 6, 2021, there was a security breach at the U.S. Capitol in which supporters of then-President Donald Trump delayed the congressional certification of the 2020 presidential election results for several hours. Democrats and some Republicans characterize the disturbance, from which some elected officials took cover, as an insurrection or coup attempt aimed at overthrowing the U.S. government, a claim that has been adamantly denied by Trump and his supporters.

 

Democrats have attempted to use the disqualification clause to take two other sitting federal lawmakers off the 2022 ballot for their pro-Trump activities. While the challenges to Rep. PENNSYLVANIA — Gov. Tom Wolf has called on two more agencies within Pennsylvania government to divest from any investments connected to Russia, he said in an announcement Thursday, as the invasion of Ukraine and human rights atrocities there continue..

We must do what is within our power to bring an end to the suffering of the people of Ukraine."

These are the career fields that suffered personnel losses during lockdowns imposed due to the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus. Another Florida education program, STEM, guides children toward careers in “science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.”

 

DeSantis said “there’s a huge, huge demand” in nursing and anyone going into the field is going “to have a lot of opportunities as they get beyond school.”

 

According to DeSantis, the new $289 million education and career program includes $105 million for “after school, weekend and summer learning camps that will help struggling students catch up.” Another $47 million will be available to purchase curriculum that falls in line with Florida’s new standards in English, math, civics, and Holocaust education. DeSantis said another $50 million is earmarked for reading intervention and professional development for reading coaches, citing how “early literacy is the key.”

 

“If you have kids at third grade that are reading up to grade level, those kids are likely going to be fine” and “have a pathway to college, if that’s what they want to do,” DeSantis said. But if a child “is deficient by third grade,” their future opportunities diminish.

 

As The Epoch Times reported Jan. 2, America’s education system is failing as the goals for maintaining high academic standards are being replaced with a focus on social constructs like critical race theory and social-emotional learning. Recent government data shows the average fourth grader has only a 41 percent proficiency level in mathematics. By the eighth grade, that proficiency level drops to 34 percent. By the twelfth grade, the average American student has a proficiency level of only 24 percent in math.

 

STEM programs will receive $44 million, an additional $22.5 million will fund programs to help parents reinforce what’s being taught in classrooms at home, and another $5 million will help establish regional mental health resiliency teams to support districts with delivering services to students.

 

“This is an example of really meeting needs that exist in a really big way,” DeSantis said.

Volkswagen Recalls Over 246,000 SUVs Due to Unexpected Braking

 

DETROIT—Volkswagen is recalling more than 246,000 SUVs in the United States and Canada because faulty wiring harnesses can make them brake unexpectedly, sometimes while in traffic.

 

The recall comes three days after The Associated Press reported that 47 people had complained to U.S. safety regulators about the problem, some reporting nearly being rear-ended by other vehicles. Many reported that warning lights and alarms would go off, the driver’s side windows would roll down, and the SUVs would suddenly brake while in traffic.

 

Volkswagen says in documents posted Friday by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the recall covers certain Atlas SUVs from the 2019 through 2023 model years, as well as the 2020 through 2023 Atlas Cross Sport.

 

The documents say the electrical contacts on a wiring harness in either of the front doors can corrode, interrupting electrical connections. The problem can cause the side air bags to deploy late in a crash, and the parking brake can come on unexpectedly. Volkswagen says in documents that the SUVs can brake at speeds below 1.8 miles per hour.

 

But many of those who complained to NHTSA said the unwanted braking happened while they were driving on city streets, putting them in danger. A driver from Mansfield, Ohio, wrote in a complaint that the braking happened multiple times at speeds of 25 to 70 miles per hour.

 

Kendall Heiman, a Lawrence, Kansas, clinical social worker, said her 2021 Atlas Cross Sport tried to stop multiple times while she was driving on roads, often while it was decelerating. Heiman said she was nearly rear-ended by another SUV while heading into a roundabout. It also braked while she was exiting a highway, she said.

 

She and others complained that Volkswagen had no parts available to fix their vehicles, which sat at dealerships for more than two months. Heiman was given loaner cars, but some of those who complained to NHTSA said they were told by dealers that Volkswagen would not provide loaners.

IGF report advises ICE detainees be removed from New Mexico facility because of staff shortage

 

The facility is supposed to have 245 full-time staff, but at the time of inspection, there were only 133 full-time employees, leading to staff working overtime and unsanitary conditions.

 

The Department of Homeland Security Office of the Inspector General is advising that Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees be relocated from a New Mexico detention facility due to a staffing shortage and subsequent "unsanitary living conditions."

 

According to the report released Wednesday, the Torrance County Detention Facility in Estancia, New Mexico, housed 176 male ICE detainees at the time of the OIG's inspection early last month. The facility is supposed to have 245 full-time staff, but at the time of inspection, there were only 133 full-time employees. Most of the staffing vacancies – 94 out of 112 – are security positions.

 

The report also concluded the staffing shortage and other related issues "seriously impact" the federal government's ability to support the southwest U.S. border security mission.

 

In December 2020, ICE issued a Contract Discrepancy Report related to medical-staffing shortages and other issues with filling vacancies. However, over a year later, current staff must work at least six overtime shifts per month to help bridge the gap caused by understaffing.

 

Despite CoreCivic, the private prison company that owns and operates Torrance County Detention Facility, offering hiring incentives such as subsidized housing for staff, the facility is still unable to hire enough employees.

 

One staff member noted that the remote location of the facility, which is about an hour drive from Albuquerque, may be a reason, according to the report.

 

The result of the understaffing is unsanitary conditions, such as 83 of the 157 cells holding detainees having "plumbing issues, including toilets and sinks that were inoperable, clogged, or continuously cycling water."

 

The inspection also found "mold and water leaks throughout the facility."

 

"We recommend that the acting Director of ICE immediately relocate all detainees from Torrance County Detention Facility and place no detainees there unless and until the facility ensures adequate staffing and appropriate living conditions," the report reads.

 

ICE disagreed with the report's conclusion, telling the OIG that it "ignored facts presented to it in order to achieve preconceived conclusions."

 

According to a March 1, 2022, contract discrepancy report that ICE issued the facility: "The critically short staffing plans are directly responsible for the breakdown in the overall operational capabilities of the [facility.] CoreCivic has not been able to demonstrate the ability to provide a safe environment for staff and non-citizens, provide the necessary security for proper facility security and control measures, and care necessary to ensure proper facility maintenance, overall cleanliness, and personal hygiene needs …

 

"The Performance Requirements Summary areas of work-force integrity, safety, security and care are all at risk, have been on-going violations, and do not meet contractual requirements. These continued violations seriously impact the El Paso Field Office's ability to support the southwest border security mission."

The key to understanding this seemingly erratic set of zigs and zags is the recognition that Team Biden is following the template that former President Barack Obama created in Syria a decade ago. Let’s call it the “Syria playbook.”

To understand the Syria playbook, and its connection to Ukraine, we need to look back to Obama’s second term, and its all-consuming policy priority, the Iran deal—which remains no less urgent in 2022 than it was in 2013. Back then, Syria itself did not matter much to Obama, who mused about how one might weigh deaths in that country against deaths in the Congo—implying that if the latter was not a pressing U.S. national interest, neither was the former. Rather, Syria’s significance for Obama lay only in the risk that images of hundreds of thousands of people being tortured and murdered might interfere with his defining foreign policy initiative: reaching a deal that would realign the United States away from Israel and Saudi Arabia and toward Iran, his new choice for regional hegemon.

Meanwhile, Syria did matter greatly to Iran, Obama’s sought-after ally. Along with Ukraine, Syria also mattered very much to Russia, then as now a key partner in the nuclear negotiations with Iran. Syria mattered to Russia because it mattered to Iran; because the Russians saw the Assad family as a historical ally; and because Putin looked forward to restoring, enlarging, and entrenching the Soviet-era naval presence that would allow Russia to project power in the eastern Mediterranean.

It was in Syria that the Obama-Biden team honed the cynical duplicity we’re witnessing today. At the heart of Obama’s maneuvering in and around Syria was the practice of strategic messaging, which allowed Obama to hold both ends of the stick while speaking out of both sides of his mouth—or rather, letting cynical or clueless members of his administration strike seemingly contradictory poses, each of which allowed him to advance toward his goal. He could be simultaneously moralizing and a cold realist—whatever it took not to be distracted from his main objective of a deal with Iran. Achieving that goal in turn meant cooperation with Russia, a principal backer of the Assad regime.

The Obama administration alumni now in charge of the Biden administration currently pose as staunch defenders of NATO and the trans-Atlantic alliance against Russia’s barbaric aggression in Ukraine. But in 2012 and 2013, it was NATO’s other members who pressed Obama to join, and lead, the European and regional states opposed to Assad’s butchery in Syria. Instead, Obama fended them off by turning to Russia, and using its veto power-by-proxy at the United Nations and other international forums in which the administration claimed to place stock. Anyone who wants something in Syria, the Obama administration told U.S. allies, should go talk to Putin.

We MAY have caught a break in more closely dating the Q Winter Wonderland pics. We had the bright idea to look for burned out light bulbs and may have gotten lucky. Found a park-goer’s vid dated 15DEC2013 which APPEARS to have one MORE burned out bulb than the Q pic appears to show. Although we are still comparing vids and ‘posted’ dates to look for discrepancies, if true this could lead to the conclusion that the Q pic precedes the 15DEC2013 video.

Sauce for vid appears in screencap.

 

Until just days ago, the best we could say was that the Q WW pics habbened sometime between 22NOV2013 and 5JAN2014.

Drops lead to news which confirms what is said, roughly speaking. They also seem to range from specific to broadly covering a whole topic. I think the most general posts you can find delineate into the more specific ones, and there is an organizing structure somewhere beaneath all of this.

In Q pic, the string of bulbs across front of the stall, or stand, appeared to be interupted by gaps, possibly faulty bulbs. In close-up view the front eaves appears to show at least two gaps. If these are burned-out bulbs, this could provide a marker to tighten the time interval of the Q pic.
