The ad-based revenue model that turned capitalist consumers into the product is the inversion in the world that turned us into slaves, albeit big pharma and cable news OR everything about social media. They get rich because they sell our data, but we don't actually have to fix anything. The problem isn't that they sell our data, it is that the data is valuable because they can manipulate us with it. If we just wake up, and stop believing the lies, buying based on the feelings conjured up in some fancy ad or trustworthy looking doctor with a voice of intellectual authority, the spell will be broken. The data will be worthless. They can't fight back with too much force or explicitly because the spell would break too. So we play this game of attrition, of time. There are so many ways to wake people up. Don't focus on your token issue. Focus on your target's issues. Every little bit helps, because there is advertizing and BS on every issue! Technologies are coming that will decentrazlize those public squares and revert the business model to direct to consumer and away from advertizing. We are still a ways off so keep shining the light.

Marilyn Manson's ex fiancé, actress Evan Rachel Wood, was accused Tuesday of helping to distribute a fake FBI letter that accused the rocker of being under investigation for sexually abusing women.

 

Manson is suing West World star Wood and her romantic partner, artist Illma Gore, for defamation over what he calls the 'malicious' and 'false' sexual abuse allegations they have made against him which, he claims, 'derailed his successful music, TV and film career.'

 

Tuesday at Los Angeles Superior Court, Manson's attorney, Jackson Trugman, said that Gore had used the allegedly forged FBI letter to recruit other women into accusing his client of abuse.

 

'We have evidence that Miss Wood and Miss Gore collaborated in this letter,' he told the court.

 

Wood denied the accusation, saying in a written declaration that she 'did not circulate the false FBI letter.'

 

But Trugman disputed her denial, telling LA Superior Court Judge Teresa Beaudet, 'It would be improper to conclude just from Miss Wood's declaration that she didn't not circulate this letter.'

Banks‘ huge profits as Aussies hit by rate hikes

 

As thousands struggle with the rising financial demands of their mortgages, Australia’s major banks are raking in billions in profits.

 

Commonwealth Bank (CBA), Westpac, NAB and ANZ are expected to post a combined annual cash profit of around $28.4bn this financial year as interest rate hikes boost their loan income.

 

CBA leads the pack in terms of profit after releasing its year-end report on June 30, with an 11 per cent boost to its cash flow bringing in $9.6bn in the past 12 months.

 

Part of the reason the banks are expected to report billions in profit amid rising costs is mortgage rates are increasing faster than the rates on savings and deposits, leading to a wider net interest margin.

 

“In a rising interest rate environment, deposit rates are going up at a slower rate than mortgage rates,” AMP economist Shane Oliver said.

 

Despite many Australians already struggling with the increasing costs of paying off their home loans, the banks are expected to continue to hike up interest rates in the coming months.

 

“I suspect that they may use some of their profitability for some customers who run into financial difficulty, but it’s hard to see them not raising interest rates in line with the RBA,” Mr Oliver said.

 

Though mortgage rates are on the rise, there is still hope for variable rate customers, according to RateCity‘s research director, Sally Tindall.

 

“Yes, rates are on the rise and yes, the banks are passing on the full rate hikes to variable customers, but the competition is still hot,” Ms Tindall said.

 

“But the competition is for customers who are proactive in looking for the best deal.”

 

For those looking to make the most of the competitive market, refinancing is the way to go, according to Ms Tindall.

 

“As a result of all this activity, it forces banks to be competitive but only for new customers, and this is something we expect to continue.”

 

There‘s also good news for Australians who don’t have a home loan but who want a high return on their savings.

 

Smaller banks tend to outperform the big four when it comes to saver rates, according to RateCity, with ANZ giving customers a maximum rate of 1.65 per cent compared to ING‘s rate of 3.60 per cent.

Threats made by call center scam syndicates snowballs into ‘body parts trafficking’ viral videos and allegations

 

It all started with videos posted by video clips circulated in vernacular blog sites and other sites alleging that those who failed to perform their tasks as ordered by scam syndicate supervisors or enforcers risked having their body cut open and their vital organs harvested for sale in the black market through the dark web.

 

It followed by claims of ‘thousands’ of alleged human rights trafficking cases, originating with foreign nationals being lured to work in Cambodia and at least two other South East Asian nations with promises of high paying jobs with salaries to be paid out in US dollars, an automatic lure given the poor performance of local currencies in these economies and Cambodia being a dollarised economy.

 

Police officials from several Asean countries told Khmer Times on conditions of anonymity that the allegations had caused great damage to Cambodia and to a smaller extent to two other nations though alleged human trafficking cases for work in illegal online gambling operations and other scam operations are taking place in at least half of the 10 ASEAN member nations.

 

“Human trafficking – the sale of workers by one syndicate to another after the workers had willingly arrived in Cambodia and other nations were highlighted by many nations and media. However, Cambodia has been singled out unfairly and sustained police action to nab scam operations members and operators which has to date, netted hundreds of suspects, drew scant response when compared to the allegations.

 

“Our investigations have revealed that the alleged human parts trafficking were merely threats used by the scam operators to keep workers in line and that no actual body parts were harvested and neither has anyone come forward to provide any evidence of this along with blood harvesting, a single allegation which has also been debunked,” a Cambodian police task force official said.

 

He added that the key was still back home in the countries where the allegedly trafficked victims were from as nabbing the recruiters would go a long way in helping to minimize and eliminate these scam syndicates which prey on the vulnerable.

 

“Malaysian Ambassador Datuk Eldeen Husaini’s recent remarks that a joint ASEAN task force may be the answer as information and intelligence sharing, coordinating and analysing can play a big part in smashing these syndicates,” he added.

 

In July, the United States dropped Cambodia to Tier 3, the lowest rank on its human trafficking index, after failing to deal with the issue effectively.

While the US, Russia and most European governments reserved judgment as to who might be behind Monday’s explosion that damaged both Nord Stream pipelines and cut off Germany from Russian gas, former Polish minister and member of the European Parliament Radoslaw Sikorski had no such qualms.

 

“Thank you USA,” Sikorski tweeted on Tuesday, alongside a photo of the massive gas leak in the waters of the Baltic Sea. Both pipelines were severely damaged off the coast of the Danish island of Bornholm, in what everyone is now calling a deliberate act.

 

Sikorski later tweeted, in Polish, that damage to Nord Stream means thatRussia will have to “talk to the countries controlling the Brotherhood and Yamal gas pipelines, Ukraine and Poland” if it wishes to continue delivering gas to Europe. “Good work,” he concluded.

 

Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 lost all pressure on Monday, after what the Swedish and Danish authorities later said were a series of undersea explosions. The first pipeline was operating at reduced capacity after what Russia said were technical difficulties, while the second was fully pressurized but not operational, due to German refusal to certify it.

 

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wondered if Sikorsky’s tweet amounted to an “official statement that this was a terrorist attack.” Meanwhile, Moscow’s deputy ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, thanked Sikorski for “making it crystal clear who stands behind this terrorist-style targeting of civilian infrastructure!”

 

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki didn’t go quite as far as Sikorski, but chose to describe the Nord Stream incident as “an act of sabotage, related to the next step of escalation of the situation in Ukraine.”

 

Not just any MEP, Sikorski is a former UK citizen and a fellow at numerous US and NATO think-tanks, as well as Poland’s former defense (2005-2007) and foreign minister (2007-2014). In October 2014, he was caught fabricating a claim about Russian President Vladimir Putin wanting to partition Ukraine with Warsaw, and was forced to recant.

 

Sikorski called Russia a “serial rapist” in January 2022 and in June told Ukraine’s Espreso TV that NATO had the right to give Kiev nuclear weapons. He is married to American pundit Anne Applebaum, who is also an outspoken foe of Russia.

 

While Sikorski thanked the US for the Nord Stream sabotage, Kiev blamed Russia. President Vladimir Zelensky’s adviser Mikhail Podoliak called it a “a terrorist attack planned by Russia and an act of aggression towards EU,” arguing the best response would be sending German tanks to the Ukrainian army.

Post Office IG report finds shortcomings in election mail processing

 

Half of the processing and distribution centers (P&DCs) reviewed did not properly comply with USPS policies.

 

An Inspector General report released Monday found that the United States Postal Service, while largely prepared to handle an increase in election mail, still was unable to fully process significant portions of election materials from the 2022 primary cycle.

 

"We found that generally, the Postal Service is ready for timely processing of Election Mail for the 2022 mid-term election," the report begins. "However, we did find examples where the Postal Service was not in compliance with Election Mail policies."

 

The IG first highlighted that the USPS processed roughly 10 million more pieces of election mail in the 3-month period of April through June of the 2022 primary cycle than it did for the same period during the 2020 primaries, with the on time delivery rate for the identifiable election mail actually increasing by 1%.

 

But the USPS was only able to measure service performance for 83.3% of identifiable ballots, the report noted. "The Postal Service can only measure service performance if ballots are sent full service and receive necessary processing scans to provide end-to-end visibility into the mailstream," the watchdog observed.

 

Moreover, the watchdog found that three of the six processing and distribution centers (P&DCs) it reviewed did not properly comply with USPS policies to stage Election Mail. The IG report examined P&DCs in Philadelphia, Greensboro, Atlanta, Cleveland, Los Angeles and Denver. Of those six, all three of the non-compliant centers were in critical swing states. The non-compliant P&DCs were Philadelphia, Cleveland and Denver, situated in the hotly contested states of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Colorado, respectively.

 

On a positive note, the USPS showed improvement on 2020, delivering 97.6% of election mail on time during the 2022 primaries, the IG noted.

22 Lawmakers Demand Merrick Garland Explain Alleged FBI SWAT Raid on Catholic Pro-Life Activist Mark Houck

 

As many as 22 lawmakers have called upon Attorney General Merrick Garland to provide an explanation as to why the FBI allegedly sent 25-30 fully-armed agents to arrest Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck as his “screaming” children watched in horror.

 

Released Tuesday, the open letter spearheaded by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) said that the FBI should have an “extraordinary reason” for arresting Houck the way they allegedly did. The letter said:

 

There is much to learn about the extent of the FBI’s operations in this case, apparently since state-level charges were apparently dismissed by local authorities in Philadelphia. Surely, the FBI must have an extraordinary reason for showing up at the home of an American family, allegedly with roughly 25 heavily armed federal agents, and arresting a father in front of his seven children.

 

“At the moment, it appears to be an extraordinary overreach for political ends,” the letter added.

 

The letter demanded that Merrick Garland respond by September 30.

 

Republican Congressman Chip Roy of Texas told Fox News that the raid against Houck is further indicative of how politicized the FBI and the Department of Justice have become under President Joe Biden.

 

Mark Houck, the founder and president of The King’s Men — a group dedicated to helping men become better husbands, fathers, and leaders — was arrested at his rural Pennsylvania home last Friday for allegedly violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act during his regular sidewalk counseling outside of an abortion clinic in 2021. Speaking with LifeSiteNews, Houck’s wife, Ryan-Marie, said that around 25 to 30 fully armored FBI agents stormed their property early Friday morning, aiming their rifles as the children screamed in horror.

 

The FBI denied sending a SWAT team to Houck’s residence while not denying that 25 to 30 fully-armed FBI agents were on site to apprehend Houck that morning. The FBI said:

 

There are inaccurate claims being made regarding the arrest of Mark Houck. No SWAT Team or SWAT operators were involved. FBI agents knocked on Mr. Houck’s front door, identified themselves as FBI agents and asked him to exit the residence. He did so and was taken into custody without incident pursuant to an indictment.

 

The FACE Act violation allegedly stems from an incident in which Houck shoved a 72-year-old abortion activist escorting women into a Planned Parenthood clinic. Houck’s family maintains that the man had been harassing his 12-year-old son.

Philadelphia’s Democrat Mayor Signs Gun Ban That Applies to Concealed Carry Permit Holders

 

Democrat Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney signed an executive order Tuesday banning the carry of guns — even by concealed permit holders — in city parks and recreational centers.

 

FOX News reported the signing of the executive order, quoting Kenney as saying, “This gives them some protection, some peace of mind, some ability to call the authorities when some knucklehead decides they want to bring a gun into a rec center, and they see it, that’s part of what this is about.”

 

The Philadelphia Inquirer noted, “The order bans guns and other deadly weapons at rec center buildings, athletic courts, fields, playgrounds, and pools. Signs about the prohibition will be displayed at the facilities, the order says, and District Attorney Larry Krasner said his office could charge those in violation with trespassing — even if they are otherwise legally permitted to carry the gun in the city.”

 

FOX New quoted Krasner commented on the order, saying, “Even if you have a permit to carry, and you go on those premises, then you’ve got a problem with me.”

 

Kenney’s executive order is expected to face swift legal challenges due to Philadelphia’s preemption statute, which bars cities and local municipalities from enacting any gun controls more strict than those that exist at the state level.

 

The Inquirer pointed out, “Courts have cited preemption while consistently striking down attempts by cities, including Philadelphia, to ban assault-style weapons, limit handgun purchases, and prohibit guns in parks and at recreation centers.”

 

The preemption statutes say, “No county, municipality, or township may in any manner regulate the lawful ownership, possession, transfer, or transportation of firearms, ammunition, or ammunition components when carried or transported for purposes not prohibited by the laws of this commonwealth.”

 

In July 2022, Breitbart News observed Mayor Jim Kenney’s (D) suggestion that only the police should have guns.

 

FOX News reported that Kenney spoke to reporters after two Philadelphia police officers were wounded by gunshots on July 4.

 

Kenney reflected on July 4, saying, “It was a chilled back day, beautiful weather. But we live in America where we have the Second Amendment and we have the Supreme Court of the United States telling everybody they can carry a gun wherever they want.”

House Republican Leadership Whips Against Stop-Gap Spending Bill

 

Scalise’s team just informed all House Republican offices, “Leadership recommends a NO vote.”

 

House Republican leadership announced the whip notice against a stop-gap spending bill, or a continuing resolution (CR), as the Senate just voted to advance the bill on Tuesday night.

 

The CR would fund the government through December 16.

 

Scalise’s team said that Democrats refused to negotiate with House Republicans on the CR, and that the stop-gap bill does not solve the many crises facing the nation.

 

The whip notice explained:

 

While spending the last several months ramming through legislation that increases taxes and spends billions – causing crippling inflation and a recession – Democrats in Washington have failed to address the most basic duty of funding the government. The Majority has refused to negotiate with Ranking Member Granger or any other House Republican leader on pressing issues relating to our government funding priorities, including runaway inflation, the supply chain crisis, the border crisis, or the opioid deaths associated with drugs like fentanyl coming across our open southern border, and have instead decided to kick the can to December, setting up another government funding showdown during the unaccountable lame duck period.

 

Scalise’s team also said that the CR contains funding that would enable more illegal immigration while the nation faces a historic number of migrants crossing the border:

 

Includes $1.8 billion for Refugee and Entrant money to fund more migrants illegally crossing the border, yet provides no additional money for border security or our Customs and Border Protection officers.

Just one month after passing the reckless “heat your home tax” that was signed into law in the Inflation Reduction Act, Democrats now want to subsidize their numerous energy policy failures by giving away another billion dollars to the very people they raised taxes on.

Funds the government only through December 16th, setting up yet another shutdown showdown.

 

Along with these provisions, the bill would provide:

 

$12.3 billion in economic and military aid to Ukraine

$1 billion for Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP)

$2.5 billion in funding for New Mexico to recover from the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon fire

$20 million for water infrastructure in Jackson, Mississippi

a five-year reauthorization of FDA user fees

$3 billion for the State Department to facilitate Afghan resettlement, and the FBI would receive $15 million to vet Afghan refugees

$35 million to prepare and respond to “potential and radiological incidents in Ukraine”

 

The Senate will continue will pass the bill later this week, after which the House will vote on the bill.

 

Congress needs to pass a government funding bill before Friday, or the government will shut down.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky firmly rejected the referendums staged in Moscow-held parts of Ukraine’s Zaporozhye and Kherson Regions, as well as in the Lugansk (LPR) and Donetsk (DPR) People’s Republics, on joining Russia.

 

Speaking during a UN Security Council meeting via a video link on Tuesday, he urged the countries of the world to reject the results. Zelensky also reiterated his threat to stop any contact with Russia should it recognize the results of the referendums.

 

“Russia’s recognition of these pseudo-referendums as normal, the implementation of the so-called ‘Crimean scenario’ now, another attempt to annex Ukrainian territory, will mean that we will have nothing to talk about with Russian President [Vladimir Putin],” Zelensky stated, urging “every country in the world” to send a strong message against Russia’s actions.

 

The referendums ran across the Russian-controlled territories of Ukraine’s southeast and the Donbass republics over the past five days. The idea of joining Russia has been overwhelmingly supported by the local population, according to official results announced late on Tuesday.

 

In Donetsk, some 99.23% of voters supported the idea of reunification with Russia, with Lugansk showing a slightly lower figure of 98.42%. Zaporozhye Region highly supported the idea of splitting from Ukraine and joining Russia, with some 93% of voters backing it. Some 87% have supported this idea in Kherson Region as well.

German and Polish politicians have pointed out cases of social benefits system abuse

 

German opposition leader Friedrich Merz found himself under fire on Tuesday for pointing out that some Ukrainians who sought shelter in his country keep going home and back while accepting welfare benefits. Though Merz has apologized, the mayor of Przemysl in Poland – who said much the same thing on Monday – has not.

 

“We are now experiencing welfare tourism from these refugees: to Germany, back to Ukraine, to Germany, back to Ukraine,”Christian Democratic Union (CDU) leader Merz told Bild TV on Monday.

 

His comments drew a flurry of condemnations from the ruling coalition, according to state broadcaster Deutsche Welle. Interior Minister Nancy Faeser of the Social Democratic Party accused Merz of using “Ukrainian women and children” to make a political point, while the parliamentary leader of the Free Democrats Christian Duerr said Merz’s words were “absolutely out of place.”

 

Faced with such an onslaught, Merz backed down. “I regret the use of the word ‘welfare tourism’. That was an inaccurate description of a problem observed in individual cases,” he tweeted on Tuesday. “Far be it from me to criticize refugees from Ukraine, who are facing a hard fate.”

 

While Germany has taken in almost a million refugees from Ukraine, Poland is dealing with more than four times that number. Wojciech Bakun is the mayor of Przemysl, a city of some 60,000 right on the Ukrainian border. On Monday, he wrote on Facebook that some Ukrainian refugees were engaged in an “organized system of extorting social benefits.”

 

“It is impossible not to notice the organized transports of women with children, who have cards with written instructions on the procedures they have to undergo in order to receive material and financial assistance,”Bakun said, describing how they line up outside the government offices every day to get benefits, “then, in an organized transport, they return to Ukraine.”

 

Many Ukrainian refugees also leave Poland for almost 30 days but then return before that deadline in order to keep their status, according to local outlet Kresy.

 

Poland has no instruments to prevent this behavior, Bakun complained, and wondered why Warsaw hasn’t yet noticed the problem of “draining the Polish social assistance system.”

Two U.S. government employees said they experienced retaliation after they sounded alarms about the conditions at Fort Bliss, which has been used for emergency housing since March 2021, according to the report issued by the U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) inspector general's office.

 

The alleged acts of retaliation, which included demotion and removal from assignments, may have caused a broader "whistleblower chilling," the inspector general's office said, "effectively scaring staff into withholding any complaints or reports of wrongdoing."

 

The whistleblowers cited in Tuesday's report included a staff member working with HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) leadership. ORR oversees the care and custody of unaccompanied minors.

Tulsa District Attorney Stabbed Multiple Times at His Home by Daughter

 

Tulsa District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler was stabbed multiple times at his home by his adult daughter on Tuesday.

 

According to reports, the elder Kunzweiler had an altercation with his daughter, Jennifer Kunzweiler before she stabbed him.

 

The daughter was reportedly suffering from mental problems and cut herself as well.

 

Both Steve Kunzweiler and his daughter were taken to a local hospital where both are expected to fully recover.

 

The Tulsa PD arrested Jennifer and said they will be pressing charges.

 

KTUL reported:

 

Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler was allegedly stabbed at his home on Tuesday, September 27.

 

The stabbing occurred in south Tulsa near East 121st Street and South Yale Avenue.

 

Tulsa police say they received a 911 call around 3 p.m. from Kunzweiler himself.

 

Kunzweiler said he had been in an altercation with his daughter when she stabbed him multiple times. He was immediately taken to the hospital.

 

The DA’s Office say Kunzweiler was awake and talking on the way to the hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

 

Kunzweiler released the following statement regarding the incident:

 

Unfortunately today, I found myself in a situation that I hoped would never happen. Fortunately, my injuries are such that I was able to go home. Thank you to everyone who expressed concern for me and my family. I am most appreciative of the response from the Tulsa Fire Department, EMSA, the Tulsa Police Department and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office. I am also very grateful for the professionalism and care of the staff and doctors at Saint Francis Hospital in treating me for my injuries.

 

The DA’s Office also say that the Kunzweiler family would appreciate prayers and privacy as they go through this struggle.
