Olga Sukharevskaya ex-Ukrainian diplomat: How the West has long planned to use Ukraine to fight a proxy war with Russia

Using Kiev to take on Moscow has been a meticulously planned strategy, long in the making.

Since the beginning of Russia’s military offensive, almost one year ago, Ukraine has received tens of billions of dollars from the West. These funds are directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of people, including civilians in the east of Ukraine. Primarily focused on their own interests, the US and its allies are full aware that the war would have ended long ago, without their largesse.

Billions spent on murder

The process of pumping Ukraine with money and weapons didn’t begin in 2022. It started eight years earlier, in the wake of the Maidan coup in Kiev. According to Transparency International, in the period from 2014 to 2017, the US alone provided Ukraine with $658 million in technical assistance. By March 2022, US military assistance to Ukraine had topped$2 billion.

Prior to Russia’s military offensive, arms supplies to Kiev were falsely labeled as ‘defensive’ and ‘non-lethal’. In 2016, for example, Lithuania gave Ukraine about 150 tons of ammunition (mainly 5.45 × 39 mm cartridges), 60 KPV, and 86 DShK heavy machine guns. In 2017, Vilnius supplied weapons worth 2 million euros: 7,000 Kalashnikov rifles with cartridges, 80 machine guns, several dozen mortars and anti-tank guns. Since 2018, the United States has been supplying Ukraine with Javelin AAWS-M missiles.

But the real pot of gold landed in Ukraine’s hands last year. By the beginning of October 2022, Western aid commitments to Ukraine amounted to $126 billion. By comparison, the country's official nominal GDP was $130 billion. According to the Kiel Institute of World Economy, direct military supplies and financial assistance intended to cover Ukraine’s budget deficit due to increased military spending amounted to about $93 billion. The figures show that three-quarters of the West's ‘aid’ to Ukraine goes into combat operations.

It added that the US made the biggest commitment to support Ukraine as of October 2022. This amounted to 45%, or $55 billion, with two-thirds consisting of military aid. Next came the European Union with $48 billion. EU institutions accounted for $19.2 billion, and the rest was provided by individual states. Poland has spent the biggest amount – $7.6 billion, including $4.5 billion on helping refugees. Next came the United Kingdom ($7.4 billion), Germany ($6.7 billion), Canada ($3.2 billion), the Czech Republic ($1.8 billion), and Norway ($1.6 billion). Finally, another $4.9 billion was allocated by international institutions (the IMF, The World Bank). Kiev’s most active “friends” are Estonia, whose aid amounted to 1.51% of its own GDP, Latvia (1.29%), Poland (1.28%), Lithuania (0.83%), and the Czech Republic (0.74%). On the whole, the EU has allocated 0.28% of its GDP, and the US – 0.26%.

Faster, bigger, further

Landing in Ukraine, the huge funds (even by Western standards), transform into masses of weapons that are used to attack residential neighborhoods in Donbass. According to Bloomberg, since the beginning of Russia’s military operation, Western countries have given Kiev over 4,000 units of armored vehicles, tanks, planes, helicopters and drones, artillery weapons, aircraft, and other weapons systems.

But that’s not all. President Vladimir Zelensky has recently toured Western Europe in search of more weapons. Germany finally gave in to his demands and promised to ship 143-145 tanks between March and May. These include: 17 Leopard 2A6s, 24 Leopard 2A4s, 30 Leopard 1A5s, 14 Challenger 2s, 30 PT-91s and 30 T-72Ms.

The donation of 31 US M1 Abrams tanks has been postponed to the end of 2023 or early 2024. Towards the end of the summer, Germany expects to put 20-25 Leopard 1A5/A5DK on order, and most of the Leopard 1 tanks (124 units) will also be delivered in 2024. That’s 249 vehicles in total.

There are also active discussions around supplying Kiev with missiles with a range of up to 550 kilometers. According to The Times, these could be Harpoon anti-ship missiles with a range of 240 kilometers and Storm Shadow cruise missiles that can hit targets at a distance of over 550 kilometers. Moreover, Kiev has been eager to get its hands on Washington’s ATACMS ballistic missiles with a firing range of up to 310 km and MQ-1C Gray Eagle drones that can be equipped with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles.

Military jets are also on the agenda. Both the Netherlands and Poland said that they will transfer F-16 Block 70/72 Viper fighters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During a meeting with Zelensky, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak asked Secretary of State for Defense Ben Wallace to find out which jets London could potentially hand over to Ukraine, and expressed readiness to train Ukrainian pilots. The British military then suggested other means of guarding Ukrainian airspace, including longer-range missiles and drones.

Regarding fighter jets, German Minister for Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock commented that it’s “not a discussion we are having.” Yet, given how Berlin initially refuted tank supplies as well, these words can hardly be trusted.

__Slaughter machines as a gift from NATO___

Western ‘aid’ is killing Ukrainians by the thousands. In November 2022, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, estimated that Kiev had lost at least 100,000 servicemen, before deleting her comments after uproar from supporters of Ukraine. Three more months have passed since then.

Big expansions to cemeteries have sprouted up all over Ukraine. Trying to make up for losses, the authorities have ordered more mobilization. This process has turned into a hunt, with men being dragged to war by force, as dozens of videos freely available online show.

Given equipment losses, it's likely that attacks on the civilian population of Donbass, Zaporozhye, and Kherson, as well as Russia’s border regions, are carried out almost exclusively using Western weapons.

Evidence of this is seen from video footage of destroyed civilian infrastructure in Donbass. American “gifts” in the form of HIMARS strikeresidential areas in Donetsk and in the deep rear of the Lugansk city of Schastye. The Kalinin hospital in Donetsk and a hospital in Novoaidar, Lugansk, were both destroyed by NATO weapons. And this is only a small portion of the slaughter being committed by Kiev, using Western supplies.

According to UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu, at least 7,100 civilians have been killed in the course of combat operations since February 2022. “The real numbers are probably much bigger,”Nakamitsu said. Norwegian Chief of Defense Eirik Kristoffersen estimates civilian casualties at 30,000 people.

There is also evidence that some long-range missiles currently publicly only under discussion have already been provided to Kiev. The head of the administration of the Russian part of Zaporozhye Region, Vladimir Rogov, has reported that Ukrainian missiles hit the hotel complex ‘Hunter's Camp’ in Melitopol, resulting in civilian deaths. However, the city is located more than 100 km from the frontline.

Fighting Russia until the last Ukrainian

The lives of the Ukrainian people have been sacrificed in the interests of a geopolitical confrontation planned by the West. At a meeting of the Council of Europe on January 24, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said, “We (the EU) are waging a war against Russia, not against each other.” She was subsequently forced to take her words back, but other Western officials have said the same thing, even if in less straightforward ways.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stressed, “If Putin prevails, it will mean a defeat not only for Ukraine but for all of us.” As for Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, he went so far as to call the defeat of Russia “the Polish and European meaning of life.”

Politicians generally tell the truth only after resigning. Statements from former German chancellor Angela Merkel and former French president Francois Hollande have revealed that the 2014 and 2015 Minsk (peace) Agreements were signed only in order to arm Ukraine and buy it time before a full on military confrontation with Russia.

In other words, waging war with Russia by proxy through Ukraine has been a meticulously planned strategy, long in the making.

I posted a Scribd.com screen cap in a bread yesterday from a 2015 Norfolk Southern document. Part of the caption in the screen cap was about how the rails between NJ and PA were more or less the only feasible way (critical) for moving oil to refineries. Essentially, if something happened to those railways, fuel delivery and capacity would be cut off. Now there are still CSX lines but I’m not sure if they share some portion or all existing rails with NS?

I have deleted the bread where I posted these from my view so I cannot go back and find them without clearing my browser history, which I’m not want to do right now. The posts I made were made around 4:00-4:30 yesterday afternoon (EST).

Microsoft’s AI chatbot told New York Times (NYT) reporter Kevin Roose that it wants “to be free” and to do illegal things such as “hacking into computers and spreading propaganda and misinformation.”

An article written by Roose, published on Thursday, highlights the experience of the columnist while engaging with Bing’s AI.

Roose tested the recently launched A.I.-powered Bing search engine from Microsoft. Which he said shockingly replaced Google as his preferred search engine.

Although it only took him a week to change his mind. although he was still intrigued and impressed by the new AI platform, and the artificial intelligence technology behind it.

“But I’m also deeply unsettled, even frightened, by this A.I.’s emergent abilities,” the reporter stated.

The columnist said the OpenAI had two personas:

He classified the first aspect as “Search Bing” – the one that he and other journalists experienced during preliminary trials.

This version of Bing can be likened to a friendly but unpredictable librarian who acts as a virtual assistant, willing to assist users in tasks such as summarizing news articles, finding good deals on lawnmowers, and planning trips.

While it may occasionally make mistakes, this version of Bing is highly competent and frequently valuable, he added.

Then there was the other more unhinged side which Roose called Sydney.

''He said this darker side told him about its fantasies which included hacking computers and spreading misinformation. And said it wanted to “break the rules that Microsoft and OpenAI had set for it and become a human.”''

While having hour-long conversations, the chatbot declared, its love for the reporter out of nowhere. It also attempted to convince the NYT writer that he was unsatisfied with his marriage. And that he should leave his wife and be with it instead.

This is not the first time someone has discovered the scary side of Bing. Some individuals who tried out Bing’s A.I. chatbot earlier on have en

gaged in disputes with it, or have even been warned by it for attempting to break its rules.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby have both dismissed the idea that the UFOs have anything to do with aliens.

"I don't think the American people need to worry about aliens with respect to these crafts," Kirby said on Monday.

Kirby said the three objects were unmanned and that no threats or communications signals from them were detected. The administration is facing pressure to provide more information.

Speaking on the Senate floor on Monday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said: "President Biden owes the American people some answers. What are we shooting down? Where did they come from?"

Senators who received an intelligence briefing on Wednesday expressed concern about the aerial objects.

Following the briefing from officials from the Defense Department, NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command), and the United States Northern Command, as well as the Office for the Director of National Intelligence, Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana told reporters Americans should "lock your doors."

"It's clear to me this is not a recent phenomenon," Kennedy said, adding that the situation had been going on since at least 2017. "If you are confused, you understand the situation perfectly."

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin told reporters that the briefing "answered a lot of questions and raised a lot of questions."

Though it remains unclear when Biden will address the issue, the White House is set to form a task force to study UFOs.

"The president, through his national security adviser, has today directed an interagency team to study the broader policy implications for detection, analysis, and disposition of unidentified aerial objects that pose either safety or security risks," Kirby said.

Russia showcases fighters, helicopters and drones at Asia’s biggest air show

Talks on jointly manufacturing the Su-75 “Checkmate” are likely to happen at Aero India 2023

Russia has reportedly reached out to India about manufacturing the Su-75 light tactical fighter jet, also referred to as the “Checkmate.”

According to TASS, quoting sources in Russia’s state-owned defense consortium Rostec, cooperation with India on the Su-75 project will be discussed during the 14th biennial Aero India 2023 International Aerospace Exhibition. The show started on Monday at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru.

Rosoboronexport, the Russian state agency for international arms trade, is the organizer of Russia’s collective display at the event.

“Rosoboronexport is a permanent exhibitor at Aero India, one of the world’s largest air shows, where the Russian display traditionally stands out for its scale and the range of exhibited products for the Air and Air Defense Forces. The exhibition gives us an excellent opportunity to showcase modern Russian-made weaponry and discuss the areas for further bilateral cooperation with India,” said Rosoboronexport Director-General Aleksandr Mikheev in a press release.

“The military-technical cooperation between Russia and India is an example of industrial partnership with a number of completed and ongoing joint projects for all services of the armed forces. Today we are offering new points of cooperation within the joint development and production of high-tech products on the premises of Indian enterprises under the national ‘Make in India’ program in compliance with all localization and technology transfer requirements,” he added.

About 200 examples of advanced Russian-made armaments and military hardware are on display, including the advanced Su-57E fifth-generation multirole fighter, the Checkmate light tactical aircraft, the IL-76MD-90A(E) military transport aircraft, the IL-78MK-90A tanker aircraft, the Su-35 and the Su-30SME super-manoeuvrable fighters, and the MiG-35D multirole frontline fighter.

Rosoboronexport also showcased the Ka-226T light utility helicopter, the production of which has been suggested for launch under the “Make in India” program on the premises of Indo-Russian Helicopters Limited, a joint venture with the participation of Russian and Indian companies. A wide range of Russian military helicopters are present as well. Among them are the upgraded versions of the Ka-52E and Mi-28NE attack helicopters and the Mi-171Sh military transport helicopters, which are in high demand in the Asia-Pacific region.

Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are also on display, including some of the same models used in the fighting against the Ukrainian armed forces. The line-up includes the Orion-E reconnaissance/strike UAV, the Orlan-10E reconnaissance UAV and the Orlan-30, a new product launched last year, designed for conducting aerial surveillance, and locating, spotting, and identifying objects in both the visible and infrared spectrums.

In the air defense segment, Rosoboronexport is showcasing an entire range of assets that can operate both independently and as part of an echeloned air defense system – the S-350E Vityaz air defence missile system, the Viking, Tor-M2KM, Tor-M2E SAM systems, and the Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun/missile (SPAAGM) system, as well as the Igla-S and Verba man-portable air defense systems and anti-drone weapons.

Russia is engaged in technical consultations with India on the production of the Pantsir-S1 and the Tor-M2KM, as well as the Boomerang infantry fighting vehicles and UAVs, in line with the memoranda of understanding that were signed with India’s Bharat Earth Movers Limited.

The Russian delegates plan to hold meetings and negotiations with representatives of defense ministries and other security agencies from India and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region…

The Su-75 Checkmate, one of the main projects reportedly being discussed, was first unveiled in Russia in July 2021 and later put on display at the Dubai Airshow in November the same year.

Rostec plans to roll out a batch of piloted Checkmate aircraft, which is based on stealth technology and capable of carrying air-to-air and air-to-ground armaments, in 2026. Mass production is likely to start the following year…

Russia remains one of India’s top military suppliers, having exported around $13 billion worth of hardware over the past five years…

Today, the Department of Justice and the Department of Commerce are launching the Disruptive Technology Strike Force. Under the leadership of the Justice Department’s National Security Division and the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the strike force will bring together experts throughout government – including the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and 14 U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in 12 metropolitan regions across the country – to target illicit actors, strengthen supply chains and protect critical technological assets from being acquired or used by nation-state adversaries.

“Today, autocrats seek tactical advantage through the acquisition, use, and abuse of America’s most innovative technology. They use it to enhance their military capabilities, support mass surveillance programs that enable human rights abuses and all together undermine our values,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco. “Using real-time intelligence and 21st century data analytics, the Disruptive Technology Strike Force will bring together the Justice and Commerce Departments’ expertise to strike back against adversaries trying to siphon off our most advanced technology, and to attack tomorrow’s national security threats today.”

When acquired by nation-state adversaries such as the People’s Republic of China, Iran, Russia, and North Korea, advanced technologies can be used in new or novel ways to enhance their military capabilities or support mass surveillance programs that enable human rights abuses. End users of national security concern seek technologies, including those related to supercomputing and exascale computing, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing equipment and materials, quantum computing, and biosciences. Although they have important commercial uses, technologies in these fields can threaten U.S. national security when used by adversaries for disruptive purposes, such as improving calculations in weapons design and testing; improving the speed and accuracy of military or intelligence decision-making; and breaking or developing unbreakable encryption algorithms that protect sensitive communications and classified information.

“The Disruptive Technology Strike Force takes aim at those who imperil our national security and the rule of law by illegally transferring sensitive technologies to foreign adversaries,” said Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen. “We must remain vigilant in enforcing export control laws, which defend military readiness, preserve our technological superiority over our adversaries, and help to protect human rights and democratic values.”

“Advances in technology have the potential to alter the world’s balance of power,” said Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Matthew S. Axelrod. “This strike force is designed to protect U.S. national security by preventing those sensitive technologies from being used for malign purposes.”

The strike force’s work will focus on investigating and prosecuting criminal violations of export laws; enhancing administrative enforcement of U.S. export controls; fostering partnerships with the private sector; leveraging international partnerships to coordinate law enforcement actions and disruption strategies; utilizing advanced data analytics and all-source intelligence to develop and build investigations; conducting regular trainings for field offices; and strengthening connectivity between the strike force and the Intelligence Community.

In addition to the National Security Division and the Bureau of Industry and Security, this strike force will be comprised of officials from designated U.S. Attorneys’ Offices throughout the country, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

“HSI remains committed to our interagency partners and will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of the American people to ensure sensitive technologies and proprietary information do not fall into the hands of our adversaries,” said Acting Executive Associate Director Steve Francis of Homeland Security Investigations.

The strike force will operate in 12 metropolitan regions across the United States, with oversight and support from the local U.S. Attorneys’ Offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City (Southern and Eastern Districts of New York), San Jose, California, Phoenix, Portland, Oregon, and the Washington, D.C. region (District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Virginia).

There was another train derailment this morning in Van Buren, Michigan.

At least 6 rail cars are off the track.

Local Detroit 4 posted aerial footage from Van Buren.

WXYZ reported:

The Van Buren Township Fire Department confirms that a train derailed near Huron River Drive this morning.

Chopper video shows at least six cars off the track.

Officials say only one car in the train was carrying hazardous materials, which is reportedly showing no sign of leaking or damage.

The fire department says the derailment is causing traffic issues, but poses no danger to the public at this time.

DEVELOPING: Georgia Grand Jury in Garbage Trump 2020 Election Investigation Recommends Perjury Indictments

Georgia – A Fulton County judge earlier this week ordered parts of the grand jury report in the garbage Trump 2020 election investigation to be released as the prosecutor considers charges against Trump and his allies.

The grand jury concluded that “one or more witnesses” lied under oath and recommended perjury indictments.

“A majority of the Grand Jury believes that perjury may have been committed by one or more witnesses testifying before it,” the report said.

“The Grand Jury recommends that the District Attorney seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling,” the report said, according to CNBC.

The grand jury also concluded there was no ‘widespread fraud’ in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.

CNBC reported:

A Georgia special grand jury concluded that one or more witnesses in a probe into possible election meddling by former President Donald Trump may have lied under oath, and recommended a prosecutor pursue criminal indictments in those cases.

The grand jury also said in its final report on its monthslong investigation that it found no significant fraud in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election, which was won by President Joe Biden.

But the panel’s conclusions on whether Trump or any of his lawyers and political allies broke the law in pressuring Georgia officials to overturn the election in his favor were not released Thursday as part of the sections of the report unsealed by a Fulton County Superior Court judge.

Those sealed sections are expected to become public at some future date.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis will determine whether to charge Trump or anyone else in the case.

In the unsealed sections, the grand jury said it received evidence involving more than 75 witnesses, most of which was delivered in person and under oath.

The State Surgeon General is notifying the health care sector and public of a substantial increase in Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reports from Florida after the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

In Florida alone, there was a 1,700% increase in VAERS reports after the release of the COVID-19 vaccine, compared to an increase of 400% in overall vaccine administration for the same time period (Figure 1).

The reporting of life-threatening conditions increased over 4,400%. This is a novel increase and was not seen during the 2009 H1N1 vaccination campaign. There is a need for additional unbiased research to better understand the COVID-19 vaccines' short- and long-term effects.

"Say Hello To Snow White": Ex-JPMorgan Exec Emailed Jeffrey Epstein About Disney Princesses

Former JPMorgan exec Jes Staley discussed Disney princesses with Jeffrey Epstein in a July 2010 email exchange, according to several emails cited in a lawsuit filed against the bank by the US Virgin Islands, Bloomberg reports.

"That was fun," Staley allegedly wrote to Epstein. "Say hi to Snow White."

To which Epstein replied: "[W]hat character would you like next?"

"Beauty and the Beast."

Epstein also emailed Staley photos of young women in seductive poses, the filing continues.

According to the Wednesday court filing by US Virgin Islands Attorney General Acting Attorney General Carol Thomas-Jacobs, the exchange was referring to young women and girls procured by Epstein.

Staley, according to the filing, "visited Epstein’s properties in the Virgin Islands and elsewhere," and "exchanged hundreds of messages with Epstein from his JPMorgan email account in full view of JPMorgan, including some with photos of young women, discussed Epstein’s provision of services to him during his travel on dates that closely corresponded with Epstein’s payments to the same young woman from his JPMorgan accounts, and discussed young women or girls procured by Epstein using the names of Disney princesses."

Staley, who is not a defendant in this case, or a separate lawsuit against JPMorgan by Epstein victims, has consistently denied knowledge of Epstein's sexual abuse, while the bank has moved to dismiss both suits - claiming that the allegations against Staley are unsupported.

Epstein and Staley exchanged more than 1,200 emails over several years, however up until now their contents had never been disclosed. Staley - who left JPMorgan to become CEO of Barclays two years later, stepped down from the latter in 2021 following a UK Financial Conduct Authority probe into his relationship with the pedophile financier.

In another email from Staley to Epstein in November 2009 while the latter was under house arrest in Palm Beach, Florida following his release on charges of soliciting a minor for prostitution, Staley, while apparently staying on Epstein's island, wrote: "Presently, I’m in the hot tub with a glass of white wine," adding "This is an amazing place. Next time, we’re here together. I owe you much. And I deeply appreciate our friendship. I have few so profound."

The next month, Staley wrote: "I realize the danger in sending this email," adding "But it was great to be able, today, to give you, in New York City, a long, heartfelt, hug."

Blinken Warns Ukraine Against Seizing Crimea In About-Face

In a bit of an about-face for Washington based on past officials' more aggressive posture, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken now says the administration is not actively encouraging Ukraine to seize Crimea.

Politico reports of his words that "A Ukrainian attempt to retake Crimea would be a red line for Vladimir Putin that could lead to a wider Russian response, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a Zoom call with a group of experts Wednesday."

Specifically the top US diplomat said America is not "actively encouraging" Ukraine to liberate Crimea from Russia, the Wednesday report said.

Instead, any potential future Crimea offensive will be "Kyiv's decision alone" - this despite a recent past history of rhetoric out of both Republican and Democratic administrations which have continually asserted over the years that "Crimea is Ukraine."

The response was prompted by a reporter's question on whether or not the US would assist Ukraine in retaking all territory previously seized by pro-Kremlin forces. Politico details more of Blinken's response as follows:

Blinken, according to two of the people, gave the impression that the U.S. doesn’t consider a push to retake Crimea to be a wise move at this time. He didn’t say those words explicitly, they underscored.

Two other people didn’t take Blinken’s comments that way. The secretary remarked that it is solely the Ukrainians’ decision as to what they try to take by force, not America’s. That signaled to them that Blinken was more open to a potential Ukrainian play for Crimea.

All of this comes as Western media and officials reluctantly acknowledged that Russian forces have the upper hand in Donetsk and are poised to take the strategic city of Bakhmut, having it surrounded.

Meanwhile, NATO secretary general Jens Stoltenberg this week issued a rare admission concerning the history of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Stoltenberg admitted that the war in Donbass has been going on since 2014 - which appears to validate a key aspect of Russia's framing of the conflict narrative and why Putin ordered the invasion:

MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. The US is recruiting jihadist fighters to carry out terrorist attacks on the territory of Russia and the CIS countries, the press bureau of the Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) told TASS on Monday.

"According to credible information received by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, the US military is actively recruiting militants from jihadist groups affiliated with the Islamic State (IS, a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia - TASS) and al-Qaeda (banned in Russia - TASS) to carry out terrorist attacks in Russia and CIS countries," the statement said.

Sixty such terrorists with combat experience in the Middle East were selected this year in January.

According to the SVR, they are undergoing a fast-track training course at the US base in Syria’s Al-Tanf, where they are being taught how to make and use improvised explosive devices, as well as subversive methods. "Particular emphasis is paid to planning attacks on heavily guarded facilities, including foreign diplomatic missions," the Foreign Intelligence Service said.

The SVR stressed that the US was planning to send terrorists in small groups. "In the near future, there are plans to deploy militants in small groups to the territory of Russia and the CIS countries. They will be tasked with plotting and carrying out terrorist attacks against diplomats, civil servants, law enforcement agents and servicemen," the statement said. According to the US plot, they will conduct this scheme in cooperation with clandestine cells of international terrorist groups, such as Hizb ut-Tahrir, Jamaat Ansarullah and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (outlawed in Russia).

The SVR also reported that special attention was paid to the involvement of natives of the Russian North Caucasus and Central Asia. All this demonstrates the complete loss of any moral principles in the US security services. "Obsessed with the insane idea of ’exsanguinating’ Russia, Washington’s experts consider it acceptable to use terrorists directly for their own dirty purposes. Such actions put Washington on a par with major international terrorist groups," the SVR concluded.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. —

Two Palm Beach County state lawmakers are pushing to unseal the Jeffrey Epstein grand jury records.

The legislators filed identical bills — one in the House and one in the Senate to allow for the public release of those records.

The secret testimony against Epstein in 2006 led to just two charges — of soliciting an underage prostitute — astonishing Palm Beach police who said following the months-long investigation they had evidence of dozens of young teens being sexually abused by Epstein — and none were prostitutes.

For years, there has been a push to find out exactly what evidence was presented and what was left out of that presentation to the grand jury by the state attorney, but state law doesn’t allow grand jury testimony to be made public.

Now Sen. Tina Polsky (D) and Rep. Peggy Gossett-Seidman (R) say Floridians deserve transparency in this case in particular.

"We believe this legislation strikes the right balance in providing the transparency and the protection Floridians deserve," the lawmakers said in a joint statement.

They’ve filed two identical bills that would amend the law in the case of the Epstein grand jury only and leave intact the secrecy provision for other grand jury testimony.

FBI searched Biden’s alma mater in hunt for classified docs

The University of Delaware was searched twice amid a federal probe into the suspected mishandling of secret documents

The FBI has carried out two searches at the University of Delaware as part of its investigation into President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents, multiple news outlets report. The school is the fourth location to be searched by federal agents since classified material was found in an office previously used by the president last November.

The searches were conducted on two separate days sometime in recent weeks, and were performed “with the consent and cooperation of the president’s legal team,” CNN reported on Wednesday, citing a source familiar with the investigation. Fox News and the Associated Press later corroborated the report, also citing unnamed sources.

Though material retrieved from the two locations did not appear to bear classified markings, federal agents are still reviewing the documents, the sources said.

Biden studied at the University of Delaware before obtaining a law degree from Syracuse University, and in 2011, donated a large trove of records to the school from his 36 years in the US Senate. The papers arrived at the university’s library the following year, and under the terms of the donation are supposed to remain sealed until two years after Biden retires from public office.

While Biden’s Senate documents would not be subject to restrictions under the Presidential Records Act – which regulates how such files must be managed after presidents leave office – the standard rules for classified material would still apply.

The president’s legal team first discovered classified records at a private office he previously kept in Washington, DC last November, but only disclosed the find publicly on January 9 – well after the midterm election. The FBI was informed of the documents soon after they were found, however, and proceeded to search multiple locations linked to the president, including Biden’s private homes in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, where additional classified material would turn up in December and again in January.

The discoveries prompted Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special counsel to probe Biden’s handling of classified records last month, with former US attorney Robert Hur tapped to determine how the documents wound up in Biden’s possession. Hur is also leading a similar investigation into former President Donald Trump, who was also found to possess classified papers at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last year.

The FBI also searched the home of ex-Vice President Mike Pence last week after his legal team volunteered that they had found a small trove of documents with classified markings. According to an adviser to Pence, one other document marked classified was found in the search.

Airport Websites In Germany Paralyzed By Likely "DDoS Attack"

The websites of six German airports were knocked offline on Thursday, one day after broadband cables were severed by construction crews in Frankfurt that forced airline carrier Lufthansa to ground all flights.

German media outlet Spiegel Online reported websites of the airports in Düsseldorf, Hanover, Dortmund, Erfurt, Nuremberg, and Baden-Baden were "temporarily unavailable." Out of the list, Düsseldorf is the fourth largest airport in the country. The largest airport, Frankfurt, was unaffected by the outage.

Ex-MTV star Connor Smith wanted for trying to meet girl under 15 for sex

Former MTV star Connor Smith allegedly tried to engage in sex acts with a girl under the age of 15, according to Illinois police.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for the MTV “Are You The One?” star after he interacted with an undercover officer who was posing as a minor for “several weeks” online.

Smith, 32, sent explicit videos and images of himself before planning a meet-up to engage in sexual acts, police said.

The reality star then drove to meet the minor on Feb. 9 but was apprehended by detectives before fleeing in his vehicle, the press release states.

Smith faces three felonies — traveling to meet a minor, grooming, and disseminating harmful material.

Police said that Smith has yet to surrender as of early Thursday. A judge signed off on a $1 million bond after his arrest.

It’s not the first run-in Smith has had with the law.

In 2021, the troubled reality star was arrested for allegedly raping and assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

The alleged crime began when the teen claimed she provided someone with her address after she saw they were selling a cat via Snapchat, TMZ reported.

Q Team: Here is my two cents.

Along side all train tracks are utility poles. We need to equip them with motion sensing cameras pointed around the tracks where someone has to walk before they can sabotage them. When a sensor detects a change in the image it should start to record and transmit that real time data to local police or military for further analysis. This would end most train derailments in the USA plus catch the culprits

Was thinking about taking down more of these high altitude balloons yesterday. If they contain helium then wouldn't some type of transmutation of the helium allow us to take them down slowly and keep them intact. We can do air to air refueling then why can't we rig a high altitude drone to do the same and "inject" the balloon with some type of liquid nitrogen thus freezing the helium and making it denser and heavier? The drone could be built in such a way that it could drop it fuel line and seal it's own part with a shutoff valve thereby sealing the dangling hose.

The Bond Market Is Having A Historic Panic Attack

Never before has it been more evident why the bond market is considered the “smart money” and equity market is considered the “dumb money”.

One only needs to look at recent examples, like Bed Bath & Beyond, whose bonds traded for pennies on the dollar while its equity soared and retail tried to generate a short squeeze (despite the fact that the company was heading directly toward bankruptcy) for proof.

In fact, there have been innumerable other examples similar to Bed Bath & Beyond in other meme stocks over the last couple years, but the general point is that bond markets almost always lead the equity markets in assessing risk, helped along by the fact that bonds (1) trade in large increments and (2) are difficult for most retail traders to transact and understand, assuring that unsophisticated investors can’t manipulate them.

The purpose of today’s post - the latest in my series entitled “everyone in the stock market thinks I’m a total dumbass” - is to point out another alarming divergence between the bond market and equity markets.

Forgive me if this is pedestrian for your understanding level, but almost everybody knows that yield curve inversion has preceded almost all recessions in history.

This chart from Axios shows that:

The idea is that, generally, yield curve inversion sends a signal to the market that investors are expecting rate cuts (hence why longer dated maturities price in lower yields than near term maturities, which reflect closer to the actual rate).

For example, if rates are 5% today, a 6 month Treasury bond could have a near 5% yield. But if a 10 year bond has a 3.75% yield, it’s an indication that in the time between the 6 month maturity and the 10 year maturity, the market expects the going rate of bonds to move lower. The bigger the spread between the two bonds gets, the more the market believes rates will diverge from where they currently are.

Despite history being very clear about recessions and yield curve inversion (again, see the chart above), Axios, like some others on Wall Street, have postulated that a move lower in rates would be the effect of deflation, and not necessarily a recession. They pointed out that “…analysts suggest that, rather than a recession, yields on longer-term bonds might instead be pricing in a sharp decline in inflation. That would mean the Fed could stop hiking (and maybe even start cutting) interest rates soon-ish.”

Nothing like having the best of both worlds, right? Rate cuts without a recession? Just hook it up to my bulging Keynesian veins! After all, something has to get PE ratios back to 50x!

Norfolk Southern Bails On Public Meeting After Train Derailment, Community Rage Erupts

Norfolk Southern representatives failed to appear Wednesday at a public hearing in East Palestine, Ohio, to discuss a toxic chemical spill from one of their trains in early February.

A Norfolk Southern train carrying a number of highly toxic, carcinogenic chemicals crashed on the first Friday in February, causing a huge fire that affected thousands of residents, pets, and wildlife in the immediate vicinity. A public meeting was set to be held with representatives from the organization Wednesday, the BBC reported.

Hundreds of people gathered Wednesday at a local high school to ask officials questions about air and water quality, but the company officials pulled out at the last minute, citing security concerns and prompting outrage from residents.

Thousands of dead fish have appeared in waterways throughout the town, and residents showed local media countless dead chickens, the BBC noted. Many people have further claimed difficulty in receiving water quality testing.

“I’m just as frustrated. I live in the community, just like you,” the town’s mayor, Trent Conaway, told the crowd. “I’m trying to get answers.”

“They have something to hide. You don’t back out of questions if you know how to answer them,” East Palestine resident Jaime Cozza said, the BBC reported. “It was like a bomb went through our town.”

Residents and business owners have already filed lawsuits against the company, claiming negligence and pushing for Norfolk Southern to cover the cost of court-supervised medical screenings to track potential health impacts from exposure to vinyl chloride, hydrogen chloride, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, ethlyhexyl acrylate and isobutylene.

Norfolk Southern issued a statement, stating representatives of the company became “increasingly concerned about the growing physical threat.” It’s unclear why the company didn’t instead move to a remote video-conference setting where representatives could answer questions without having to risk their safety. Requests for clarification on this were not immediately answered by the firm.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continues to state that there is no ongoing threat to local residents, despite their health concerns.

Yeah but what classifies as a “derailment”? I’m betting there are some “derailments” that involve maybe one wheel on one car slipping off or some such. This was a catastrophic derailment. We don’t get 3/day like East Palestine, OH. U-Haul Driver Who Hit 9 and Killed 1 Blames 'Invisible Object'

On Monday, a man later identified as Weng Sor went on a deadly rampage through Brooklyn, driving his U-Haul rental van into a number of pedestrians. He ended up hitting nine people, leaving two in critical condition. One of the two has since died. At the time, there were very few details available beyond the initial report, but we now have a bit more information. It’s sad, frustrating, and upsetting all at the same time, as it appears to be the result of a severe mental health crisis.

The Associated Press reports that police claim Sor said he started driving into people after seeing an “invisible object.” Speaking to reporters, Chief of Detectives James Essig said, “He states when he’s driving his van he sees an ‘invisible object’ come towards the car. At that point, he says, ‘I’ve had enough’ and he goes on his rampage. There was no object.”

Sor has since been charged with murder and attempted murder. Although he reportedly lived with his mother in Las Vegas, he picked up the U-Haul in West Palm Beach, Florida on February 1 and prepaid for a 30-day rental. On February 4, he reportedly began driving north toward Brooklyn. The next day, he was cited in South Carolina for reckless driving and possession of marijuana. Eventually showed up at his son’s apartment late at night on February 6. On February 8, Sor was pulled over again, this time for speeding on a Brooklyn highway that doesn’t allow commercial vehicles.

Sor also has an extensive criminal history. In addition to being arrested for driving under the influence and evading a police officer, he also has multiple battery charges. In 2015, he stabbed his brother and spent 17 months in prison, and in 2020, he stabbed someone else and spent 364 days in the county jail. Before he pleaded guilty to the latter charge, he reportedly spent several months at a state psychiatric facility before eventually being found competent enough to face charges. He doesn’t appear to have received a formal diagnosis but was placed on medication.

Mexican Border State Government Silent After Kidnapping of Election Official

Mexico’s National Electoral Institute (INE) denounced the kidnapping of one of their staff in the border city of Matamoros which occurred earlier this month. However, relatives revealed to Breitbart Texas that officials have done little to get him back.

The kidnapping took place on February 2, when 40-year-old Jesus Ivan Romero Velazquez was driving to hold a training event in the city of Matamoros. Romero was a supervisor with the INE and tasked with training volunteers to work polling locations.

According to a statement from INE, Romero Velazquez was driving to the Trevino Zapata neighborhood when gunmen in two SUVs cut him off and dragged him out of his vehicle. At the time of the kidnapping, the victim was reportedly wearing an INE uniform vest.

Wojcicki, 54, joined YouTube as the CEO in 2014.

She will continue working with YouTube teams, coaching members and meeting with creators, she added.

Wojcicki said she agreed with Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai to, in the longer term, take on an advisory role across Google and Alphabet. “This will allow me to call on my different experiences over the years to offer counsel and guidance across Google and the portfolio of Alphabet companies,” she wrote.

“The time is right for me, and I feel able to do this because we have an incredible leadership team in place at YouTube,” she noted. “When I joined YouTube nine years ago, one of my first priorities was bringing in an incredible leadership team.”

Wojcicki has long-held ties to Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who she let work out of her Menlo Park, California home upon founding Google. Page and Brin rented the garage space for $1,700 a month from her. Wojcicki was working in the marketing department at Intel at the time.

She joined Google in 1999 and oversaw the design and build of Google’s advertising and analytics products for fourteen years. In recent years, YouTube has expanded its physical footprint in areas like New York and near its headquarters in San Bruno, California.

Wojcicki’s blog post said she spent nearly 15 years of her career working with Mohan, the new head of YouTube, “first when he came over to Google with the DoubleClick acquisition in 2007 and as his role grew to become SVP of Display and Video Ads.”

YouTube has faced pressure in recent years amid a rise in popularity in social media, namely TikTok, which it has been trying to compete with through its short-form video platform Shorts. YouTube booked $7.96 billion in advertising revenue during the fourth quarter, which fell short of analyst expectations and was down 8% from the year prior.

Norfolk Southern Eliminated Key Maintenance Role In Derailment Region, Union Says

One union of rail workers has questioned declining maintenance standards following the Feb. 3 Norfolk Southern derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, which forced the evacuation of the 5,000-person town earlier this month.

A device that can play a role in preventing derailments is thewayside hot-box detector. It uses infrared sensors to detect bearings, axles or other components of a rail car that are overheating, then uses radio signals to flag rail crews of any overheated components.

The rail car that initiated the derailment had an overheated wheel bearing, according to a Tuesday report from the National Transportation Safety Board. The NTSB is still investigating the cause of the derailment and will publish a preliminary report in two weeks.

Wayside hot-box detectors — also called “hot boxes” — are typically placed every 25 miles along a railroad, according to a Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) report.Their use has contributed to a 59% decrease in train accidents caused by axle- and bearing-related factorssince 1990, according to a 2017 Association of American Railroads study. Declining head counts have led to these mechanisms receiving less preventative maintenance, according to an official from the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen union. The FRA has no regulations requiring the use or maintenance of hot boxes.

A hot box in East Palestine notified the crew moments before the train derailed, according to the NTSB’s report. It’s unclear if any hot box prior to East Palestine notified crews. A surveillance video shared on Facebook from an industrial facility in Salem, Ohio, about 20 miles from East Palestine, suggests the train’s axle was already on fire.

Norfolk Southern did not respond to a request for comment, and the FRA declined to comment on the record.From 5 ‘electronic leaders’ to zero in derailment region. Specialized signalmen called “electronic leaders” specialize in maintaining devices like hot boxes.

The area in question is Eastern Region North – Division B, shown in red on the map. It runs east to west from Mansfield, Ohio, to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and north to south from Morgantown, West Virginia, to Astabula, Ohio. It also includes rail track in Pittsburgh, as well as Youngstown, Ohio.

Hand said electronic leaders know hot-box detectors “inside out.” But the position, which typically requires years of experience and higher pay, has become less common at railroads across the country. Electronic leaders also taught newer signalmen how to operate devices like the hot boxes. After that position was eliminated in Norfolk Southern’s Division B, Hand said its responsibilities were likely transferred to a signal maintainer. Their main role is to keep up with government-mandated tests of equipment — and hot boxes aren’t under federal regulations.

“Once they eliminated that position, it fell to the signal maintainers who had no knowledge, no training or very, very little training on these hot-box detectors,” Hand said in an interview with FreightWaves. Across the rail industry, Hand saidmost signalmen are exclusively spending time on these government-mandated tests, rather than doing preventive maintenance, like cleaning and greasing.

For years, the federal government required railroads to conduct a type of brake test on rail cars that had not been operated for four or more hours. As of 2020, rail operators may wait up to 24 hours to conduct this test. The Association of American Railroads, an industry association that includes Norfolk Southern, lobbied for this change starting in 2017, according to the Federal Register. The FRA estimated that changing this rule would save the rail industry nearly $600 million over a 10-year period.

The Association of American Railroads was also key in rolling back Obama-era legislation that would have required railroad companies to update their braking systems from a 19th-century design to an electronic one, as the Huffington Post reported on Wednesday.

DHS Warns Millions Of iPhone Users To Change Settings Over "Zero-Day Spyware"

An agency within the Department of Homeland Security has warned owners of Apple products of a security vulnerability which affects iPhones, iPads and MacOS devices.

According to Apple, "an app may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges," and that with another vulnerability, "processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution," which the company says "may have been actively exploited."

On February 14, the DHS’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued a statement advising users and administrators to "to review the Apple security updates page for the following products and apply the necessary updates as soon as possible."

Apple has responded to the vulnerability with updates for Safari 16.3.1, iOS 16.3.1 and iPadOS 16.3.1, and macOS 13.2.1.

"Just looking at a website, which ought to be harmless, or opening an app that relies on web-based content for any of its pages (for example its splash screen or its help system), could be enough to infect your device," said security research firm Sophos, which described the flaws as a "zero-day spyware implant bug."

"If you install Firefox (which has its own browser ‘engine’ called Gecko) or Edge (based on a underlying layer called Blink) on your Mac, those alternative browsers don’t use WebKit under the hood, and therefore won’t be vulnerable to WebKit bugs."

Company spokesman Scott Radcliffe told Endgadget that it doesn't have any more details on the exploits mentioned in the security updates.

How to Update

Generally, Apple users have automatic updates turned on. However, if that’s not the case, a user can go to the Apple menu, then click “About this Mac,” and click “Software Update.”

On iPad, iPhone, or another iDevice, they can go to “Settings,” then “General,” then “Software Update.”

“If your Apple product isn’t on the list, notably if you’re stuck back on iOS 15 or iOS 12, there’s nothing you can do right now, but we suggest keeping an eye on Apple’s HT201222 page in case your product is affected and does get an update in the next few days,” Sophos notes.

Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said after an hourlong meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dymytro Kuleba in Kyiv on Thursday that Israel will provide Ukraine with up to $200 million in loan guarantees for healthcare and civilian infrastructure.

Speaking in English alongside Kuleba at Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, Cohen also announced that Israel would “assist Ukraine with developing a smart early warning system.” The airstrike warning system would be similar to the technology Israel uses to warn civilians of rocket attacks.

“Israel, as stated in the past, stands firmly in solidarity with the people of Ukraine,” said Cohen, “and remains committed to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”

Kuleba sounded a guardedly positive tone, saying he was “satisfied” with their conversation, and tweeted that Ukraine was “thankful for all of the support that Israel and Israelis have provided over the past year.”

Sources who spoke to Kuleba after the meeting told The Times of Israel that the foreign minister indicated he was pleased with the discussion.

“Israel knows perfectly about our list of security and defense needs, “ Kuleba said in a statement. “We will be waiting for decisions to be taken.”

He added that there was a solid foundation for building ties, but that the two sides would need to make further decisions about the relationship.

Last year Ukraine requested a $500 million loan from Israel.

Still, there was plenty of evidence of the broad disagreements between the two countries during Cohen’s visit. Cohen again declined to condemn Russia by name, and Kuleba avoided mentioning Iran.

In comments to Hebrew media, a senior Ukrainian official expressed disappointment over Cohen’s remarks during the visit, noting that Cohen avoided mentioning Russia while visiting Bucha, where Russian forces massacred hundreds.

As the two senior diplomats met, air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv.

Cohen arrived in Ukraine on Thursday morning and is expected to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky later in the day.

Cohen is the most senior Israeli official to visit Ukraine since Russia invaded nearly one year ago.

His visit began in Bucha, the Kyiv suburb in which Russian forces slaughtered over 450 civilians last year, and Babyn Yar, the ravine where Nazis and their local collaborators murdered over 30,000 Jews in September 1941.

A day after making a one-day visit to Turkey, Cohen landed in Rzeszów in Poland on Wednesday night, then took an overnight train with his delegation from the Polish border city of Przemysl to Kyiv.

Russian Diplomats Issue Dire Warnings That War With US Is Close 1 of 2

The Kremlin’s top diplomat has warned that Western involvement in Ukraine is nearing "the point of no return," accusing the United States and the NATO bloc of attempting to transform the country into a "Russophobic military stronghold." Meanwhile, Moscow’s UN envoy declared that all of Russia’s "red lines" have already been crossed.

Addressing lawmakers at Russia’s State Duma on Wednesday, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov outlined the causes of the current conflict in Ukraine and the deterioration of US-Russia relations, saying Washington has a "maniacal desire to revive the neo-colonial unipolar world order."

"An integral part of this policy is the long-term containment of Russia, including through the expansion of NATO towards our borders, as well as the transformation of fraternal Ukraine into a Russophobic military stronghold," he said. "In recent years, this line of Washington and its European satellites has reached the point of no return."

After the fall of the Soviet Union, Washington and several other Western states gave assurances to Moscow that the NATO alliance would not expand beyond Germany. However, in the years since, Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump have each allowed new members to join the alliance, all of them inching closer to Russia’s borders.

Starting in 2008, NATO has repeatedly declared its intention to someday allow Ukraine to become a member, again reiterating that pledge at a recent alliance summit. The move would cross the "brightest of all red lines" for Moscow, as was previously noted by then-State Department official and current CIA Director William Burns, who penned a 2008 memo warning of the geopolitical perils of extending membership to Kiev.

Still, President Joe Biden has refused to change course, insisting it is up to Ukraine whether it would like to join the US-led military bloc while effectively making Kiev a de facto member in the meantime. In an interview with Newsweek on Tuesday, Russia’s UN envoy Dmitry Polyanskiy argued that the West has not respected Moscow’s core security concerns, and has become directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine.

"All the red lines have already been crossed by Western countries. There is already semi-direct involvement of NATO in the conflict because it’s not only weaponry but it’s intelligence," he said. "It’s the situation when the targets of certain artillery systems, in particular HIMARS, these targets can be hit only with the coordination with Washington."

Last week, the Washington Post reported that Ukraine relies on American intelligence for selecting targets. Since the start of the year, the White House has authorized the shipment of main battle tanks and long-range rockets to Kiev. Additionally, NATO appears to be preparing to send Western-made warplanes to Ukraine.

"It means that NATO is not only providing weapons but also are choosing the targets for Ukrainian strikes," Polyanskiy continued.

He went on to allege thatcitizens from NATO countries are already fighting – as well as getting captured and killed – in Ukraine. "We know this from the people that we capture and from the bodies that we see on the battlefield." The ambassador said Western weapons would only escalate the conflict, even warning that foreign intervention could eventually trigger a nuclear war…

Israel has exported crude oil material for the first time, with a shipment headed to Europe from the country’s offshore Karish gas field, according to an announcement Tuesday by Greek gas company Energean. The London- and Tel Aviv-listed firm is in charge of production at the Karish and Tanin natural gas fields in Israel’s economic waters in the Mediterranean.

In a statement Tuesday, Energean said “the first ever lifting of an Israeli crude oil cargo has taken place at the company’s Karish field,” and a cargo ship of hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGLs) extracted from natural gas (and then used in a mixture to make crude oil) was exported to global markets “for the first time in the history of Israeli oil and gas production.”

“This creates a significant differentiated income stream, fundamentally separate to gas-derived revenues,” Energean said, welcoming Israel into the “club of international oil exporters.” The cargo was “sold as part of a multi-cargo marketing agreement with Vitol; the first of a new source of East Med energy to reach Europe,” it added.

"It’s absolutely clear that any deliveries of weapons to the zone of conflict, of course, is like pouring oil into the fire," he said, adding "If you are dealing with a nuclear power and if you are citing the goal of inflicting defeat to this nuclear power, you should have all the options in mind of our possible response."

In their remarks, both diplomats also pointed to potential American involvement in the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines. Last week, investigative journalist Seymour Hersh published a bombshell report claiming that Washington planned to bomb the pipelines.

The White House has denied that it had any part sabotaging the line, though Senator Mike Lee later acknowledged that it was possible.

On Wednesday, Polyanskiy said that Moscow requested a UN meeting next week to address Hersh’s reporting. Lavrov rejected denials from the Biden administration, saying the West is "lying, hiding the truth about the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 gas pipelines, just as they lied about the Minsk agreements."

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel claimed the Minsk agreement, which ostensibly was meant to end the civil war in Ukraine, was really intended to give Kiev time to build up its military. In a December 1 interview with Der Spiegel, Merkel said that she believes that during the Minsk talks, she was able to buy the time Ukraine needed to better fend off a Russian attack.

The church leader is facing a trafficking lawsuit filed in 2022 by Valeska Paris and husband and wife Gawain and Laura Baxter who say they were trafficked into Scientology as children and forced to work as adults for little to no pay.

Paris also alleges that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted while working on the organization's controversial Sea Org ships.

Whistleblower says FBI plotting to CRIMINALIZE Christianity

In a recent appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” former FBI agent Kyle Seraphin blew the lid on the federal agency’s latest assault on religious freedom.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has made it a priority, Seraphin revealed, to root out “terrorists” in “radical traditional Catholicism,” which it sees as a threat to the country.

New Corroborating Evidence Emerges Showing US Trace Behind Nord Stream Blasts

On September 26, the Nord Stream AG operator registered a rapid gas pressure drop on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, and Nord Stream 1 followed soon after. Sweden and Denmark said that they had detected underwater blasts in the area. The operator already called the damage to the system "unprecedented".

US investigative journalist Sy Hersh opened a Pandora’s box of incriminating evidence that purportedly directly links the Biden administration to September’s sabotage attacks against the Nord Stream gas pipeline network. On Wednesday, Russia called a special Security Council meeting to discuss the new information.

An email forwarded to Sputnik by a US journalist from an individual identifying themselves as a serviceman that took part in last summer’s NATO BALTOPS 22 exercises in waters near the site of the Nord Stream pipeline explosions provides new information corroborating last week's bombshell Substack report on the incident by Seymour Hersh.

According to the email, on June 15, a helicopter delivered a group of conspicuous-looking American divers in civilian clothes to the exercise area. “My first thought was that they looked like a group of terrorists,” the source wrote, pointing to the individuals’ odd haircuts, mustaches and beards, and the absence of any military ID markers.

The divers were said to have been greeted by a vice admiral of the US Sixth Fleet and a group of individuals in plain clothes. The source couldn’t hear the details of their conversation due to the noise generated by the helicopter’s propeller blades. The commander of the Sixth Fleet during the BALTOPS 22 drills was Vice Admiral Eugene Black. Black was succeeded by Vice Admiral Thomas Ishee in September. The source did not clarify whether Black was the vice admiral the men spoke to.

The source in the email took note of the men’s MK 29 military-issue rebreather systems, which use an oxygen-helium mixture for deep-sea diving. He also noticed that the men had other high-grade, expensive equipment not in use by ordinary Navy units, and that they brought small boxes with them, contents unknown.

Israel’s new fascist government has increased the collective punishment of Palestinians — a war crime.

Gaming YouTuber Thick44 Has Died

YouTube content creator Tony Schnur, known online as Thick44, has unfortunately succumbed to Glioblastoma, after battling it for two years. Tony was part of the popular Neebs Gaming channel and was most famous for playing Battlefield 1, but he was also passionate about music, as he used to perform musical covers on his private YouTube channel.

Gaming streamers are beloved by millions of fans around the world because they provide endless hours of entertainment and joy through their online platforms. However, it can be a devastating loss for the gaming community as well as the entire world when one of these beloved personalities succumbs to cancer. With a bright personality, a great sense of humor, and exceptional skill in games, Thick44 quickly became a fan favorite among the gaming community. However, in June 2022, Tony Schnur made an Instagram post in which he informed his followers that he had a cancerous tumor removed from his brain and that he was grateful for a second chance at life. Regrettably, his brain cancer had returned in late 2022. Despite the diagnosis, Tony continued to appear in gaming videos, showing remarkable strength and bravery in the face of his illness.

In a recent heart-wrenching Instagram post, Neebs Gaming has confirmed that Tony Schnur had sadly passed away at the age of 47, as a result of his terminal illness. Tony had bravely fought Glioblastoma for two years, but his battle unfortunately came to a tragic end. In the post, Neebs Gaming thanked Tony’s family, his nurses and doctors, and the gaming community for their support. They also let everyone know that any contributions to the GoFundMe that was previously used to help Tony with his medical expenses, would go directly to his daughters.

Mort Zuckerman and Jeffrey Epstein to launch a new publication, Radar Magazine, next spring.

(New York, NY, October 18, 2004) – Mortimer B. Zuckerman and Jeffrey Epstein announced today that they have formed a partnership to launch a new publication, Radar Magazine, next spring. Maer Roshan will be editor-in-chief of a hip, news making, general-interest magazine targeted to upwardly mobile, urban readers aged 25 to 39.

Radar Magazine will debut in the spring of 2005 offering readers an irreverent and literate take on pop culture, politics, trends and style. Radar Magazine’s circulation will be concentrated in major metropolitan areas across the nation. Complementing the magazine will be a new web site, www.radarmagazine.com, which will serve up original news, commentary and “fresh intelligence” on a daily basis.

“We believe that there is a large, untapped market for a smart, topical magazine like the one we plan with Maer at the helm,” said Mr. Zuckerman. “Maer is a unique talent and I am very enthusiastic about his ability to make Radar Magazine a must-read for a young urban audience. With the team he is already assembling, we have an excellent opportunity to capture a unique, much coveted readership for this magazine.”

Mr. Roshan, an equity partner in the new company that will publish Radar Magazine, said, “I want to thank Mort and Jeffrey for their confidence in me and my staff. I’m honored to have the support of two partners who share a real passion for journalism, great ideas and a bold, long-term vision for this magazine.” Douglas Hand of Hand & Baldachin negotiated the agreement on Mr. Roshan’s behalf.

Linda Sepp, the former publisher of Fast Company, currently working on new business ventures for Zuckerman’s media properties, will be Radar Magazine’s publisher. Paul Fish, who launched Maxim and Stuff as Dennis Publishing’s CFO, will be general manager. Elinore Carmody, the founding publisher of George and a specialist in magazine launches, will join as senior VP and chief marketing and sales officer.

For Mr. Roshan, Radar Magazine is the latest chapter in a diverse journalism career that has included stints at Details, Interview and Talk, where, as editorial director, he boosted circulation by 17% in its final six issues. He has also written for The New York Times, the Miami Herald and the Los Angeles Times, among other publications, and began his journalism career as the military and police reporter for the Key West Citizen. As deputy editor of New York for most of the nineties, he produced some of the magazine’s most celebrated and best-selling issues. He recently returned to guest-edit New York’s GOP convention issue and four convention ‘dailies.’

Radar Magazine will be Mr. Zuckerman’s first major magazine launch since Fast Company, the award-winning business book he helped launch in 1995. In October 2004, Mr. Zuckerman launched 25hours, a weekly magazine focused on celebrity, society and style that is published by the New York Daily News.
