Sorry, there's simply no reason to conceal the truth in riddles. I get backchannels between anons and patriots during the interim transition of power back to the people, but eventually, the truth should be freely disseminated to all people. SAN LUIS TEOLOCHOLCO, Mexico, Mar 5 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - A t a spacious, tree-lined high school at the foot of the Matlalcueyetl volcano in central Mexico, students gathered outside to play a game of snakes and ladders with a twist.

 

One boy stepped on a panel that read: 'Sexual relations should never be forced'. A female classmate took a ladder away from a square warning men against becoming human traffickers.

 

"Do women have the right to decide what to do with their bodies?" one student asked her peers during another exercise.

 

This was not an normal lesson but a unique workshop designed to prevent boys from becoming sex traffickers and stop girls from falling prey in Tlaxcala state, which has become synonymous with the crime after more than a decade of high-profile cases.

 

Some of the pupils' families are known to traffic women for a living, to other states and also the United States, and often encourage their children to one day join the family business.

 

"'I want to be a trafficker like my grandfather' … is what you'll usually hear at least from some of them," one of the teachers running the project, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation.

 

Mexico is an origin, transit and destination country for human trafficking. Victims range from men forced to kill for criminal groups to indigenous women in domestic work under slave-like conditions and girls coerced into the sex trade.

 

"It's important for them to see that it's not normal … that it's violence." If the workshops changed the attitudes of just a few students, they were worthwhile, the teacher added.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. government opposed Bernard Madoff's request to be freed from prison even if he is close to death from kidney failure, saying he has never accepted responsibility for his massive Ponzi scheme or shown compassion for victims.

 

In a Wednesday night court filing, prosecutors said denying the 81-year-old Madoff's request would uphold victims' and public faith in the justice system.

 

They said Madoff should continue serving his 150-year sentence, to ensure that "one of history's worst fraudsters" faces the consequences of his crimes.

 

"Madoff's crimes were extraordinarily evil," prosecutors said. "His sentence was appropriately long. It should not be reduced."

 

Prosecutors also said roughly 500 of the 520 victims who wrote to the Manhattan federal court about Madoff's request opposed it, including an 84-year-old who said: "Why should he be shown any compassion, when he had none for his many victims?"

 

The filing came one month after Madoff sought "compassionate release," saying he had fewer than 18 months to live and hoped to move in with a friend.

 

"Madoff, despite what the government might claim, is remorseful for his conduct," and "remains hopeful" his request will be granted, his lawyer Brandon Sample said in an email.

 

Madoff has spent roughly 10-3/4 years in prison.

 

His case is the biggest test of the First Step Act, a bipartisan law signed by President Donald Trump in December 2018 affording early freedom to some older prisoners, often for health reasons.

 

Among those released is Bernard Ebbers, who once led phone company WorldCom Inc. He died on Feb. 2 at age 78.

 

Prosecutors said Madoff used his firm Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC to swindle thousands of individuals, charities, pension funds and hedge funds, including many with ties to the Jewish community.

 

A court-appointed trustee estimated Madoff's customers lost $17.5 billion. Nearly $14 billion has been recovered.

 

Madoff was arrested in December 2008 after admitting his fraud to his sons, who have since died, and pleaded guilty three months later to 11 criminal counts.

 

His fate will be determined by Circuit Judge Denny Chin, who called Madoff's crimes "extraordinarily evil" when imposing the 150-year sentence in June 2009.

 

In seeking Madoff's release, Sample said his client is confined to a wheelchair and battling several illnesses, and would pose no danger to anyone if released.

 

But prosecutors said Madoff has improved since he resumed kidney dialysis treatment in November, and while ill he could live more than 18 months.

 

They also said his request last year that President Trump commute his sentence was mainly so he could care for his wife Ruth in her old age, "apparently confident" his health would allow it. Trump has not acted on that request.

Starting Friday "RED FLAG" exercises over Vegas

 

Throughout the next two weeks, residents in the northern Las Vegas Valley may notice increased noise from military aircraft during Air Force Red Flag exercises.

 

The Red Flag 20-2 exercises are scheduled to run from Friday through March 20. More than 80 aircraft are scheduled to leave Nellis Air Force Base twice a day and could stay airborne for up to five hours during the exercises, which may include night launches, according to a news release from the base.

 

The exercises are mostly conducted over the Nevada Test and Training Range, a 12,000-square mile area of airspace north of the valley, the release said.

 

β€œWith 1,900 possible targets, realistic threat systems and an opposing enemy force that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world, Nellis and the NTTR are the home of a β€˜peacetime battlefield,’” the release said.

 

The exercises also help train maintenance personnel, ground controllers, space operators and cyber operators, the release said. The 414th Combat Training Squadron is responsible for executing the exercises.

I think I FINALLY get why 5G is of such concern

 

'They’ could kill millions of humans at the flip of a switch. A vaccine could be taken for protection from X virus. You take the vaccine and never get X virus AND you maintain designer DNA floating around in your body for who knows how long. Someone with control of the 5G networks flips a switch to β€˜pulse’ tower number 5,384 and those people with designer DNA in the area of that tower are hit with an unseen, unfelt electrical β€œpulse” from that tower, their cell membranes open just long enough for the entry of the designer DNA ; the damage is done, …forever… and we never, ever know it has happened.

 

Designer DNA could be a threat to humans, in general, or very specific. General use, it could be used for population control indiscriminately. Specific targeted use, it could be used to target people with very specific genes such as blue eyed, or left handed, that are Caucasian or African, Norwegian or Irish.

WASHINGTON (WMTV) – The Environmental Protection Agency has released a list of disinfectants that should be effective against the coronavirus behind this year’s deadly outbreak.

 

β€œUsing the correct disinfectant is an important part of preventing and reducing the spread of illnesses along with other critical aspects such as hand washing,” EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said.

 

The full list runs several pages and includes products from common brands like Lysol, Clorox, and Purell. The EPA points out that coronaviruses are among the easiest types of viruses to kill with disinfectants. The agency simply reminds people to follow the directions on the packaging and to pay close attention to how long the product sits on a treated surface.

 

β€œEPA is providing this important information in a public and transparent manner on disinfectant products to help reduce the spread of COVID-19,” Wheeler continued.

 

The EPA explained it created the list through its Emerging Viral Pathogen program, in which disinfectant makers tell agency officials in advance of any outbreaks what their products are effective against and provide data to back up the claim.

Russia cancels SPIEF 2020 economic conference over coronavirus concerns

 

One of the biggest business events in Russia, the St Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF), won’t be convening this year due to the coronavirus outbreak, organizers have announced.

Idlib ceasefire announced after meeting between Russia, Turkey

China's top gas importer PetroChina declares force majeure on imports

 

China's top gas importer PetroChina has declared force majeure on natural gas imports, including on liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments and on gas imported via pipelines, following the coronavirus outbreak, four industry sources said.

 

The company issued the force majeure notice to suppliers of piped gas and also to at least one LNG supplier, though details of the force majeure notice could not immediately be confirmed.

 

PetroChina did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A spokesman for state firm KazTransGas which handles gas exports had no immediate comment.

 

PetroChina meets 40% of its total gas needs through imports and about 70% of imports are through pipeline gas from Central Asia, Myanmar and Russia while the rest are through LNG, one of the sources said.

"The supply cuts will fall on suppliers proportionately but LNG suppliers will have a lesser impact versus those on piped gas", said one of the sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

 

It was not immediately clear what volumes PetroChina had declared force majeure on or the time period the notice covers.

 

But one major LNG supplier to the Chinese company told Reuters that PetroChina had requested some cargoes be deferred to the third quarter instead.

 

For piped gas, PetroChina will be likely to ask for a cut in daily nominations, the first source said.

 

Last month, the country's top LNG importer China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) suspended contracts with at least three suppliers, which drove spot LNG prices to a record low.

 

"PetroChina has done its best over the past month mitigating the virus impact and tried not to issue such a notice, including diverting cargoes to India and Singapore," the source said.

 

"But unlike CNOOC (which sent the notice earlier) which may see demand slowing recovering, PetroChina is grappling with a sharp seasonal demand fall from mid-March (for piped gas) when the heating season ends."

328 Chinese nationals illegally crossing US border caught so far in 2020

 

Some 328 Chinese nationals have been apprehended while trying to illegally cross the border since January of this year β€” also the time period since the global coronavirus outbreak began.

And as this series of pictures show, the Russian president's face has changed dramatically over the years – amid persistent rumours he has undergone cosmetic surgery to give himself a more youthful look.

 

A black and white picture taken in 1991 when he was 37 years old shows him looking gaunt, and black bags under his eyes are clearly visible.

 

In December 2013, after around two years in office as President, he looked vastly different again, his face puffy but wrinkle-free.

 

And in March this year, the Kremlin was forced to deny rumours that he was unwell – or had undergone surgery – when the President disappeared for 10 days, cancelling a string of appointments and public appearances.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Young children from low-income homes whose mothers reported frequent use of toxic chemicals such as household cleaners were more likely to show delays in language development by age 2, a new study found.

 

In addition, the children scored lower on a test of cognitive development. These developmental delays were evident even when the researchers took into account factors such as the education and income of mothers, which are also linked to their children's language and cognitive skills.

 

The findings provide additional evidence of the need for pediatricians and other health care providers to counsel parents of young children to restrict their use of toxic household chemicals, said Hui Jiang, lead author of the study and senior research associate at The Ohio State University.

The event is part of the nonpartisan, nonprofit group that Obama co-chairs, When We All Vote, set to take place on March 27 at University of Detroit Mercy. According to the announcement, the event is free and will be open to the organization’s volunteers and partners, educators, as well as voting-age high school and college students, mlive.com reports.

 

Obama launched When We All Vote in 2018, which she co-chairs along with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw β€” and their goal is to promote voter participation in elections at all levels.

 

β€œIf we really want our voices to be heard, we need to vote in every election. Not just for president, but for every office: school board, statehouse, Senate β€” all of them,” Obama said at the time of the launch. β€œOur democracy and the country we love requires our attention, voice, and participation.”

 

As Obama encourages Americans to vote, Trump has fired shots amid his re-election campaign.

 

Not only has his administration rolled back her school lunch guidelines, he recently attacked Obama for being a fan of convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein. Her eldest daughter Malia also worked as an intern at his company in the summer of 2017.

Meanwhile, the voter participation rally in Detroit kicks off several months ahead of the presidential election in November. Trump was the surprising winner of Michigan in the 2016 election, taking the state from Hillary Clinton. Will he dominate once again come November?
