What do Jeff Bezos, Michael Bloomberg, Bill Gates and the great-nephew of Walt Disney have in common? A pursuit to live longer, according to their recent spending pattern.

 

A number of the world’s best known billionaires have been putting their personal wealth into biotech startups that work to discover the elixir of life, noticed Family Capital, a British publication that tracks the movement of family businesses globally.

 

And they are all over the age of 50.

 

Ultra-rich individuals often employ a team of professional money managers to take care of their personal wealth through what’s called a family office. Over time, the function of family offices has evolved a long way from handling basic taxes to buying financial products to investing directly in startups, an area that’s increasingly appealing to billionaires in recent years.

 

However, in the world of startups where structured information is constantly lacking, determining which industries and companies are worth betting on can be a very arbitrary process. To the ultra-wealthy, many of whom are entrepreneurs themselves, the decision often comes down to what they know and personally care about.

 

Biotech comes as a natural fit to many.

 

According to Family Capital’s estimate, about 20 percent of startup investing done by family offices goes into either biotech or related industries.

 

“That realization that things are beginning to increasingly move in the direction of old age often leads individuals to try to at least slow down the aging process,” Family Capital wrote. “If you’re very rich, apart from staying fit and eating a healthy diet, a way of trying to prolong one’s age is to invest in new medications that might just increase one’s life—and also make a lot of money in the process.”

 

To be sure, biotech has proven to be a highly promising industry and a favorite of not just the likes of Bezos and Gates but venture capitalists at large. According to PitchBook data, the amount of VC funding into biotech companies has risen every single year since 2010. The total funding in 2017 tripled that of 2010.

 

Here is a list of six well-known billionaires who have invested in biotech in the last two years:

 

Last month, Michael Bloomberg, 76, invested in a company called Finch Therapeutics Group through his family office, Willett Advisors. The company develops microbial therapies to serve patients with serious and unmet medical needs.

 

Richard Branson, 67, founder of Virgin Group and chairman of Virgin Hyperloop One, participated in a funding round this month for Doctor On Demand, an app aiming to connect patients with the best healthcare experts.

 

Last year, Bill Gates, 62, participated in a $275 million funding round through his family office, Cascade Investment, for Gikgo Bioworks, a company that designs custom microbes that could someday be used to build living things out of nothing.

 

Tim Disney, the great-nephew of Walt Disney, and Andrew Russell, 56, the Duke of Bedford and one of the richest British aristocrats, partnered in an $8 million deal this year to back a company called Skyhawk Therapeutics. The company is in search of cures for cancer and neurological disease.

 

In 2016, Jeff Bezos, 54, among his many ventures, invested over $100 million in a company called Unity Biotechnology through his personal investment firm, Bezos Expeditions. Unity Biotechnology specifically tackles the problem of aging by “developing medicines that potentially halt, slow or reverse age-associated diseases, while restoring human health,” according to its website.

 

Peter Thiel, the youngest of the bunch (he just turned 50), last year co-led a $10 million investment round into ChemomAb, an Israel-based biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of the cure for immune system disorders.

UNITAID has several financial backers including: WHO, UNAIDS, Global Fund, and the Roll Back Malaria Partnership. In addition, UNITAID has corporate sponsorship from pharmaceuticals with the “Medicines Patent Pool”

One billionaire investor behind UNITAID is George Soros himself (29). But why stop there? Furthermore Gilead, a main supporter of UNITAID (39), has also announced that it is partnering with the Chinese Health Authorities on the clinical trials of Remdesivir as a treatment for coronavirus (5). And once approved, Gilead will retain the global rights to market the antiviral medication (3).

 

UNITAID is the UN and this is bio-warfare, where they control the drugs. China did not steal Gilead’s patent; Gilead was a willing participant, they are even working with the Chinese government on clinical trials. The question remains, how will this impact western nations that are excluded from the acquisition of lower-priced treatment drugs? Will our economies be held hostage to Chinese imperialism? And has the coronavirus outbreak been the vehicle for George Soros, Bill Gates, and the United Nations to implement the New World Order? It sure look’s like it! Checkmate!

Each year, staff monitor local water quality, conduct watershed improvement projects, facilitate workshops and events, and partner with cities and the township to achieve water quality goals.

 

In 1993, she helped VLAWMO and partners complete a North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) award-winning effort to build control structures along Lambert Creek, located at the Rice Lake and Grass Lake wetland complexes. While Burr’s committee reportedly received daily updates on the coronavirus threat, it is unclear when those closed-door briefings began. Burr’s office declined to say whether the first briefing was held before, on, or after Feb. 13, citing committee policy that committee members do not comment on closed-door briefings.

 

On Feb. 7, Burr had encouraged Americans that the U.S. is "better prepared than ever before to face emerging public health threats, like the coronavirus," in a Fox News op-ed with GOP Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. "Senator Burr filed a financial disclosure form for personal transactions made several weeks before the U.S. and financial markets showed signs of volatility due to the growing coronavirus outbreak," a spokesperson for Burr told the Washington Examiner in a statement. "As the situation continues to evolve daily, he has been deeply concerned by the steep and sudden toll this pandemic is taking on our economy. Burr issued a more dire warning about the coronavirus on Feb. 27 when speaking at a luncheon hosted by the North Carolina State Society. "There's one thing that I can tell you about this: It is much more aggressive in its transmission than anything that we have seen in recent history," Burr said, according to a recording obtained by NPR. "It is probably more akin to the 1918 pandemic."

 

Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro, a former 2020 presidential candidate, called for Burr to "suspend his chairmanship" and be investigated for possible insider trading related to his Feb. 13 stock selloff. "As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I know that our committee receives sensitive information, including assessments and projections, before others in Congress and the general public (if ever)," Castro tweeted on Thursday after the news of Burr’s stock transaction dropped.

I started coughing Mar 7, I did the usual things for a cough but it became worse and worse. I decided I needed to treat it as COVID.

 

As my research developed, I ordered everything and anything that could help me as I know I can not depend on the system.

 

This is what I have used and I am 70 percent better. Tired. Cough a little. Slightly sore chest. Keep in mind I am throwing 100 bullets at it because I want to live. I think I will be fine but it is not as easy path and I hope to God it doesn't reactivate.

 

  1. Naproxen 375mg BID (antiviral.. I am not sure about the advil rumors but I have pericarditis and this virus is making my heart sore).

  2. Valtrex 500mg BID (has anti HIV qualities)

  5. Colloidal silver BID ( I just think it helps keep viral loads down.. or also kills coinfections)

The compilation of reports also asserted that, in the summer of 2016, Page held “secret meetings” with Rosneft chairman Igor Sechin and Putin’s deputy chief Igor Divyekin during which Sechin mentioned “lifting Western sanctions against Russia” and Divyekin discussed releasing a “Russian dossier of kompromat” on Hillary Clinton. I watched John Carter last night and the ending really struck me as how similar it was to what both men described, to a point.

To any financial anon: I will relate my question using my life as an example. Not out of selfishness, but, my life must resonate with a fair percentage of american's lives. I am 100% with the Q plan and i'm still wondering if there will be any way for people who are not invested, still productive with respect to work, but not just starting out (25-40) to recover from the numerous events that have forced personal financial resets (ie - starting over). There is a age range that is bearing the brunt of all the financial disasters. We were too young in the 70's and 80's, made too much and lost it in the early 2000's and were not a bank or too big to fail entity. Currently, the talk of student debt moratoriums, federal loan and small business interest breaks etc… My age group is never the demographic that is fashionable to "unbury". Recently I just found out that the salary cutoff will be around 75k and what do you know, I made 85k last year. I was happy about the trump tax cuts, but I ended up paying more taxes.

 

I think I have illustrated my situation. My question is, what do anons think will happen with the economic transition and will it benefit all people? There is a large section of americans, myself included, that would literally have at least a few million dollars for their retirement. Is it possible we will finally have an opportunity to recoup some of the blatant theft that has caused so much pain for our country?
