Friedman tested negative for the coronavirus, a State Department spokeswoman said. But he experienced 'mild upper respiratory symptoms' and was therefore asked by medical staff to avoid proximity to Pompeo.

President Trump says he 'totally' disagrees with Dr. Fauci on his comments about the lockdown

President Donald Trump voiced his disagreement with his own coronavirus task force director over his recommendations on further lockdown policies to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

 

The president was speaking to the media about lifting the lockdown restrictions when he addressed Dr. Fauci's concerns about opening up too quickly.

 

"I was surprised by his answer actually because, it's just to me it's not an acceptable answer, especially when it comes to schools," Trump said.

 

"The only thing that would be an acceptable answer, as I said, was professors, teachers, et cetera, over a certain age. I think they oughtta to take it easy for another few weeks, five weeks, four weeks, who knows, whatever it may be," he concluded.

 

The president had earlier explained his disagreement in an interview with Maria Bartiromo of Fox News.

 

"So Anthony is a good person, a very good person – I've disagreed with him," Trump said in the interview.

 

"We have to get the schools open, we have to get our country open, we have to open our country. Now we want to do it safely, but we also want to do it as quickly as possible, we can't keep going on like this," he explained.

 

"You're having bedlam already in the streets, you can't do this," he added. "We have to get it open. I totally disagree with him on schools."

 

The coronavirus task force released guidelines for slowly and methodically opening up parts of the country with some restrictions in order to prevent a second spike of the pandemic. Fauci voiced his concerns that if the economy opened too quickly that certain regions could experience needless and preventable deaths.

 

The president had previously blasted the mainstream media for attempting to drive a wedge between him and Dr. Fauci.

So I went inside and met a masked gal - I did not ask if she sold cannabis, but she sent a prudy gal over to answer my questions. Now, I offered my hand, but she denied, said it was policy…I touch my dick everyday so I am not gonna judge her. She was helpful, answered my questions and I left with my answers.

Once outside, I saw a store that said donuts and the open light was on, so, long story short, I traded money for donuts and coffee and was told by the nice unmasked lady that I had to eat it outside the store. I ate dat shit and walked backed to the dealership, got the ride and left. I drove to a toy store and a masked dude was standing behind a table blocking the entrance. I asked if could come inside and he said, No. I said, I will buy one of your biggest LEGO sets if I can come in and pick it out…he said, No. I said, good luck, and left. On my way home, I thought, it would just take a few businesses with courageous leaders to open completely and challenge their governors illegal orders. I don’t know. It’s a good question. When Ferguson was in the news a few months ago, why wasn’t there more discussion of his atrocious track record? Or was his track record not so bad? A google search turned up this op-ed by Bob Ward referring to Ferguson’s conclusions as β€œevidence that Britain’s political-media complex finds too difficult to accept.” Regarding the foot-and-mouth-disease thing, Ward writes, β€œFerguson received an OBE in recognition for his important role in the crisis, or that he was afterwards elected a fellow of the prestigious Academy of Medical Sciences.” Those sorts of awards don’t cut much ice with meβ€”they remind me too much of the U.S. National Academy of Sciencesβ€”but maybe there’s more of the story I haven’t heard.

 

I guess I’d have to see the exact quotes that are being referred to in the paragraphs excerpted above. For example, what did Ferguson exactly say when he β€œpredicted that up to 150,000 people could die” of foot-and-mouth disease. Did he say, β€œI expect it will be under 200 deaths if we cull the herds, but otherwise it could be up to 2000 or more, and worst case it could even be as high as 150,000?” Or did he flat out say, β€œ150,000, baby! Buy your gravestone now while supplies last.”? I wanna see the quotes.

 

But, if Ferguson really did have a series of previous errors, then, yeah, Why did anyone ever listen to this guy?

Code Review of Ferguson’s Model

 

Imperial finally released a derivative of Ferguson’s code. I figured I’d do a review of it and send you some of the things I noticed. I don’t know your background so apologies if some of this is pitched at the wrong level.

 

My background. I have been writing software for 30 years. I worked at Google between 2006 and 2014, where I was a senior software engineer working on Maps, Gmail and account security. I spent the last five years at a US/UK firm where I designed the company’s database product, amongst other jobs and projects. I was also an independent consultant for a couple of years. Obviously I’m giving only my own professional opinion and not speaking for my current employer.

 

The code. It isn’t the code Ferguson ran to produce his famous Report 9. What’s been released on GitHub is a heavily modified derivative of it, after having been upgraded for over a month by a team from Microsoft and others. This revised codebase is split into multiple files for legibility and written in C++, whereas the original program was β€œa single 15,000 line file that had been worked on for a decade” (this is considered extremely poor practice). A request for the original code was made 8 days ago but ignored, and it will probably take some kind of legal compulsion to make them release it. Clearly, Imperial are too embarrassed by the state of it ever to release it of their own free will, which is unacceptable given that it was paid for by the taxpayer and belongs to them.

 

The model. What it’s doing is best described as β€œSimCity without the graphics”. It attempts to simulate households, schools, offices, people and their movements, etc. I won’t go further into the underlying assumptions, since that’s well explored elsewhere.

FDA orders Bill Gates-funded program to HALT at-home Covid-19 self-testing

 

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ordered a Seattle-based Covid-19 testing project funded by Bill Gates to stop screening for the virus, putting the program on ice as it provided hundreds of at-home test kits each day.

 

The billionaire Microsoft icon announced the initiative in a blog post this week – dubbed the Seattle Coronavirus Assessment Network, or SCAN – which he said was already distributing some 300 test kits on a daily basis. AC-130J Ghostrider Gunships Have Flown Their Very First Combat Missions

The AC-130J's arrival in Afghanistan marks a historic changing of the guard as older AC-130Us have now finished their last scheduled deployment.

The last Ghostrider deliveries are scheduled to occur in 2021 and the Air Force plans to eventually have a fleet of 37 of the aircraft in total, which will replace all of the remaining AC-130Us and AC-130W Stinger II gunships. As of March 2019, AFSOC had already retired seven of the 10 remaining U models and three of the 12 W variants, according to Pentagon budget documents. The service already retired the last of the AC-130H Spectre gunships in 2016.

 

The deployment of the AC-130Js and the end of scheduled combat operations for the AC-130Us very much marks a shift in AFSOC's gunship operations, as well. The Spooky IIs, which entered service in 1995, are the last of the Air Force's old school AC-130 gunships with a five-barrel 25mm GAU-12/U Gatling cannon, a single-barrel 40mm Bofors cannon, and a 105mm howitzer as their only armament.

 

The AC-130J is a very different beast, though it does have the same 105mm howitzer as the AC-130U, as well as a smaller 30mm GAU-23/A Bushmaster cannon. But the Ghostrider, from the very beginning, was designed to also employ precision-guided munitions, including the AGM-114 Hellfire missile, the GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), the GBU-44/B Viper Strike glide bomb, and the AGM-176 Griffin, which can function as a powered missile or as an unpowered glide bomb. The AC-130Ws, which are conversions of older C-130H cargo aircraft, have a virtually identical armament package.

 

The Air Force had not even originally planned to install the 105mm howitzer on the AC-130J, or the AC-130W, but eventually changed course. AFSOC took delivery of the first Block 20 AC-130J with the howitzer in 2016. There had also been concerns about the functionality of the Ghostrider's 30mm GAU-23/A, but these issues have all since been resolved.

 

The precision-guided munitions capability has really added a new dimension to the gunship's capabilities, giving it more stand-off reach and the ability to engage targets in multiple distinct areas simultaneously, something you can read about in more detail here. The addition of new weapons in the future, including the GBU-53/B Stormbreaker, previously known as the Small Diameter Bomb II, and the GBU-69/B Small Glide Munition, both of which have multi-mode guidance systems, will only increase the AC-130J's flexibility. With its 30mm and 105mm weapons, the Ghostriders can also still provide the same kind of extremely precise direct fire support as their predecessors.

 

The AC-130Js are also packed with a variety of updated sensors, data links, communications systems, and more, and the Air Force is already in the process of further updating those systems. The latest Block 30 Ghostriders, which the 4th Special Operations Squadron began receiving in March, feature a number of improvements over the Block 20 aircraft that the 73rd Special Operations Squadron is flying in Afghanistan now. This includes upgraded sensor turrets with higher fidelity electro-optical and infrared full-motion video cameras and a new, large broadband satellite communications "hump" on top of the forward fuselage.

Five serious White House hopefuls, Sens. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., Barack Obama, D-Ill., Chris Dodd, D- Conn., Joe Biden, D-Del, and Sam Brownback, R-Kansas, all voiced their discontent Wednesday with the course of events in Iraq.

Republican Sen. John McCain has already set forth his determination to support President Bush’s 21,500 troop surge to Iraq.

"We do have vital national security interests in Iraq," declared Democrat frontrunner Clinton. "Al Anbar province is the staging ground for attacks by the Sunni insurgency and al Qaida in Iraq. Both are directed at us. We have vital national security interests with respect to what Iran is doing in crossing the border."

She also said, "I'm not going to support a specific deadline" for getting U.S. forces out of Iraq, but she does support phased withdrawal at some point in the future.

"I do not support cutting funding for American troops," she said.

But Clinton asserted she would support cutting funding for Iraqi troops if the Baghdad government did not rid the Iraqi army of "sectarian and militia influence."

Obama issued a statement Wednesday that said Congress had to find some way, which he hasn't yet explained, "to support our troops in the field while still preventing the president from multiplying his previous mistakes."

He, like Clinton and Dodd, came out for capping the number of U.S. troops in Iraq, and he called for phased redeployment.

Biden has joined forces Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., and Carl Levin, D- Mich. to offer a nonbinding resolution stating congressional opposition to a troop increase.

The Biden measure would not affect funding for the war – but he seemed to infer at his press briefing that was inclined to go further and cut funding if Bush didn't see the light.

"We're prepared to do whatever it takes to send two messages," Biden said. His messages are don't send more troops and seek a negotiated settlement in Iraq among the factions.

He called the nonbinding resolution "a very important first step."

"Is this a stepping stone to doing something about the funding?" a reporter asked Biden. "This stands on its own, period," he replied, but then he quickly added that if Bush ignored the resolution "there's going to be all kinds of proposals" – implying perhaps a funding cut-off.

Dodd brushed aside Biden's idea of a "sense of the Senate" resolution as being relatively meaningless.

His bill would not curb or cut off funds for the Iraq operation; it would be a statement of policy – and almost certainly would be vetoed by Bush

"I don't want this debate to be about whether or not the troops that are there are going to be denied any of the resources they need to do their job," Dodd said. "This merely sets a cap on the number of troops in Iraq as of Jan. 15."

All the presidential contenders who dealt with the Iraq issue Wednesday are senators that voted for the 2002 Congressional resolution authorizing President Bush to use military force in Iraq. The exception is Obama, who didn't become a senator until 2005. All have voted for continued funding of military operations there.

On the GOP side, Brownback, just back from a tour of Iraq and Ethiopia said it seemed like "the United States cares more about a peaceful Iraq than the Iraqis do. If that is the case, it is difficult to understand why more U.S. troops would make a difference."

Brownback opposes Bush's proposed surge and suggested "we ought to be negotiating with the Democrats on 'what will you support?' Because we need to be in Iraq for some period of time to get this to stabilize, part around Baghdad."

He added it would be a "catastrophic strategy" to "pull out of Iraq and leave behind a security vacuum or a safe haven for terrorists."

What McCain has been offering voters on Iraq is a view of events that is unrelentingly grim.

"I want to emphasize again the catastrophic consequences of failure," McCain said in a speech two weeks ago, after returning from a trip to Iraq. "I believe the war is still winnable, but to prevail we'll have to do everything right and the Iraqis will have to do their part."

What Jihadist leaders seek, he said, is the day when "radical Islamic extremism dominates the entire world. Do I believe that if we leave Iraq, that that's the end of Western civilization as we know it? No, but I do believe that we will be sending young Americans into conflicts again somewhere else – it's not the end; it would be the beginning of the end in some respects."

Perhaps sensing that sounded too gloomy, he added, "We have faced other crises in American history and we will prevail in this one."

Almost three months after arriving in Guam, a pair of MQ-4C Triton autonomous, unmanned aircraft have integrated into fleet operations and training flights and stretched the Navy’s maritime domain awareness across the Indo-Pacific, according to the Navy.

 

The Navy is counting on the Triton, which can operate at greater than 50,000-foot altitudes and at the 2,000-mile-plus range, to provide an unmanned platform for persistent, maritime intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities and work alongside its manned fleet of reconnaissance and surveillance patrol aircraft. The Tritons with Unmanned Patrol Squadron 19 – the Navy’s first unmanned aircraft squadron – arrived in Guam in late January to support CTF-72, which oversees the patrol, reconnaissance and surveillance force in the U.S. 7th Fleet region.

 

β€œBringing Triton forward creates a complex problem set for our adversaries,” Cmdr. Michael Minervini, VUP-19’s commanding officer, said in a statement.

β€œOur ability to provide persistent ISR to fleet and combatant commanders is unmatched in naval aviation.”

 

Along with supporting current operations for several Indo-Pacific-based task forces, one Triton drone recently joined in a β€œclose formation” taxiing along with more than a dozen manned aircraft prior to takeoff at Anderson Air Force Base, Commander Task Force 72 officials said.

 

The radar and sensors-packed Triton drones have been operating from Anderson AFB to provide, according to the Navy, an β€œearly operational capability (EOC) to further develop the concept of operations and fleet learning associated with operating a high-altitude, long-endurance system in the maritime domain.” Tritons’ onboard sensors and radar can track ships at sea, match tracks with automated identification systems and relay that information to shore-side bases or nearby aircraft, for example.

 

While the Tritons fly from Guam, the β€œBig Red” squadron of 300 personnel isn’t based in Guam. A group of VUP-19 aircrew and maintainers are forward-deployed to Guam, but squadron officials and mission operators are based at VUP-19’s home at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla., and a permanent detachment including maintenance personnel reside at NAS Point Mugu, Calif.

 

CTF-72 has been working with the squadron β€œto provide Indo-Pacific focused expertise to each crew prior to executing their missions,” the Navy said.

 

β€œIt’s been a long road to get to 7th Fleet, but it’s an exciting time to show off what our sophisticated sensor suite can do,” Naval Aircrewman (Operator) 1st Class Ryan Gray, VUP-19’s operations lead petty officer, said in the CTF-72 story. β€œOur operators have been training rigorously to hone their expertise and they are the best at what they do. We are chomping at the bit to support the combatant commanders and maintain an overwatch posture to provide persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.”

 

The Guam deployment, originally planned for late 2018, was delayed after a Triton crashed during operational testing in California in September 2018. The Navy received the first delivery of the MQ-4C in 2017.

 

The Triton can fly for more than 24-hours at a time, at altitudes higher than 10 miles, with an operational range of 8,200 nautical miles, according to manufacturer North Grumman. The Navy’s program of record would field 68 aircraft.

Welcome to the New Era of Chinese Government Disinformation

 

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has long sought to influence the media and information space in other countries, and the effort has intensified over the past decade. Much of the activity is overt β€” diplomats publishing op-eds or state-run news outlets generating propaganda. While some covert tactics were also documented, for many years there was no significant evidence that Chinese actors were engaging in aggressive disinformation campaigns like the one pursued by Russia on global social media platforms ahead of the 2016 U.S. elections. That has now changed.

 

Over the past month alone, a series of exposΓ©s demonstrated that pro-Beijing actors are carrying out a whole range of covert activities in multiple countries and languages. The campaigns aim to spread proven falsehoods, sow societal discord and panic, manipulate perceptions of public opinion, or undermine the democratic process.

 

Evidence revealed last year indicated that some Chinese-language campaigns had begun on platforms like Twitter as early as April 2017, but the latest round of incidents and investigations points to a more definitive shift in Chinese influence operations. It remains to be seen how foreign governments, technology companies, global internet users, and even the CCP’s own propaganda apparatus will adapt to the challenges presented by this change. Whatever their response, it is clear that a new era of disinformation has dawned.

 

Since March, coordinated and covert attempts by China-linked actors to manipulate information β€” particularly regarding COVID-19 β€” have been detected in countries including the United States, Argentina, Serbia, Italy, and Taiwan, with the relevant content often delivered in local languages.

Moreover, in a departure from Beijing’s more traditional censorship and propaganda campaigns, the narratives being promoted are not necessarily focused on advancing positive views and suppressing negative views of China.

 

For example, in an analysis of China-related Twitter posts disseminated in Serbia between March 9 and April 9 by automated β€œbot” accounts, the Digital Forensics Center found that the messages praised China for supplying aid during the coronavirus pandemic (much like a similar effort in Italy). But the posts also amplified criticism of the European Union for supposedly failing to do the same, despite the fact that the bloc actually provided millions of euros in assistance.

 

Elsewhere, disinformation attempts have tried to sow discord within other countries. In Argentina, a Chinese agent hired a local intermediary to approach editors from at least three news outlets in early April, according to the Falun Dafa Information Center. The broker allegedly offered to pay approximately $300 if they published a prewritten article in Spanish that smeared the Falun Gong spiritual group, which is persecuted in China, including by suggesting local citizens who practice Falun Gong could pose a threat to public health in Argentina. All of the approached outlets reportedly rejected the offer.

 

In other cases, the manipulated content shared had no connection to China at all. In a campaign in the United States reported by the New York Times, text and social media messages amplified by China-linked accounts in mid-March carried false warnings about a nationwide lockdown and troop deployments to prevent looting and rioting. The campaign was an apparent attempt to incite public panic and increase distrust in the U.S. government.

 

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute documented another recent example in which coordinated campaigns by nationalistic Chinese netizens β€” whose precise links to the Chinese state remain uncertain β€” attempted to harm Taiwan’s international reputation and its relationship with the United States. A network of 65 Twitter accounts that had previously posted in mainland-style Simplified Chinese abruptly switched to Traditional Chinese characters, thereby impersonating Taiwanese citizens. They then posted messages expressing apologies to the Ethiopian-born director general of the World Health Organization, lending false credence to allegations he voiced that racist slurs were directed against him from Taiwan. In April, some of the accounts also jumped on an existing Iranian-linked Twitter campaign calling for California’s secession from the United States, trying to give the impression that Taiwanese users supported California’s independence. (This effort was likely undermined by their referring to the island as β€œTaiwan (CHN).”)

Rep. Adam Schiff blasted Attorney General William Barr, accusing him of politicizing the Justice Department for President Donald Trump's benefit following Paul Manafort's release from prison. "This system stinks," Schiff said Wednesday on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports. "People have lost confidence in [the Justice Department's] neutrality that justice is blind. Instead, they think justice bends to Donald Trump’s will. And that’s just a tremendous disservice and risk to the rule of law." Hours earlier, Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was released from the FCI Loretto prison, where there have been no reported COVID-19 cases, to home confinement over fears of contracting the coronavirus.

 

Manafort had been imprisoned since 2018 when he was accused of witness tampering while on bail awaiting trial on bank and tax fraud charges. He later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States and obstruct justice related to his foreign lobbying work associated with Russian-linked clients in Ukraine. He retroactively registered himself under the Foreign Agents Registration Act in 2017. The 71-year-old will now serve the rest of his nearly seven-year sentence at his home in Alexandria, Virginia.

 

Manafort's lawyers argued their client's age and preexisting health conditions put him at a heightened risk for the coronavirus. But Schiff, who heads the House Intelligence Committee, wasn't buying that argument and said he believes Manafort's ties to Trump played a role in his release, citing two prisons in his Southern California district where several inmates have contracted the coronavirus. "I can bet you the families of those incarcerated in those two institutions are looking at the release of Paul Manafort today and saying, 'How come my family member is not being released to home custody?'," he said. "It must be because their names are not Paul Manafort, they’re not a friend of Donald Trump." Schiff blamed Barr's overseeing of the Justice Department, accusing him of being a friend to Trump's allies β€” especially after the department's recent motion to dismiss the case of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to federal law enforcement about conversations he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

 

The California Democrat discredited Barr over a series of other decisions, including having the department step in to reduce the sentencing recommendation of GOP operative and Trump ally Roger Stone, who was found guilty of witness tampering and lying to members of Congress. "We can’t have confidence in this system when there are such naked acts of politicization, like Bill Barr intervening to dismiss the Flynn case, like Bill Barr intervening to reduce the sentence for Roger Stone, like Bill Barr intervening to mislead the country about the contents of the Mueller report before it came out and withholding that report for weeks so that he could create a false narrative," Schiff said. He remains on poor terms with Trump and is writing a tell-all book about their time together. "[Cohen's lawyer] also made a request to be released from custody," Schiff said. "He has not been released. And of course, that breeds just further skepticism. Why is Manafort, someone the president has praised, getting released when he had a far longer sentence to serve and Michael Cohen not being released when the president calls him a rat? On Tuesday, Facebook announced it has created a dataset of more than 10,000 "hateful memes" that will be made available to select researchers working to tackle hate speech online. The database was announced alongside the company's latest community enforcement report β€” a report detailing the volume of harmful content that the social networking giant detects and takes down from its platform, from hate speech to illegal material.

 

Modern content moderation is heavily reliant on advanced machine learning and artificial intelligence β€” but such technologies typically need to be trained by being shown numerous examples of a particular kind of content before they can learn to recognise it reliably. The "hateful memes" dataset created by Facebook is intended to provide a readily available corpus of data for researchers who can then analyse it so as to build technology that can better detect it in future. Facebook also rebuilt the memes using licensed imagery from Getty to avoid copyright issues.

 

The dataset includes material that is racist, sexist, and incites violence, Facebook said in a blog post: "Our examples also cover a wide variety of protected categories (such as religion, gender, and sexual orientation) and types of attacks (such as inciting violence or portraying types of people as criminals or terrorists). The distribution in the data set reflects the real-world distribution found in the original examples."

 

The memes are specifically examples of what is called "multimodal content" β€” content that derives its full meaning from taking different elements (e.g. text, imagery) into account at the same time. A meme might have a non-offensive caption and a generic photo, but once combined in a certain way they become insulting or hateful.

 

In one very mild example Facebook shared, a photo of an empty desert is captioned "look how many people love you." Either element taken in isolation would be innocuous β€” but once combined, they become insulting.

 

Facebook says given the sensitivity of the dataset, it will only be made available to researchers who agree to terms of use on how they use, share, and store it. It will not be available to the general public to download.

 

Facebook is also launching a contest for researchers β€” the Hateful Memes Challenge β€” with a $100,000 prize pool to encourage them to develop AI models using the dataset.

Jose Rodrigo Arechiga Gamboa known as β€œEl Chino Antrax” has violated the terms of his federal probation. (U.S. Department of Treasury)

 

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) β€” Regarded as Joaquin β€œEl Chapo” Guzman’s top enforcer with the Sinaloa cartel, Jose Rodrigo Arechiga, has escaped from custody in San Diego.

 

Arechiga, better known as β€œEl Chino Antrax,” was arrested seven years ago in Amsterdam, and two years later he pleaded guilty in the United States to conspiracy to import cocaine and marijuana.

 

But it wasn’t until years later, in December of 2019, that he was sentenced to seven years in prison. By then, he had already served most of his sentence.

 

He was released from custody on March 3 and placed on probation.

 

When officers went to check on him last week, he had disappeared along with his belongings. All he left behind was his cellphone.

 

Officially, Arechiga has β€œapparently absconded” according to an affidavit filed in district court. The report states that if he is found, probation authorities are seeking nine months in prison for him.

 

Arechiga was the founder of a group called β€œLos Antrax,” named after the anthrax bacterial disease. They became an armed squadron of enforcers for the Sinaloa cartel. Lore has it that they often threatened their victims and adversaries with chemical spores of anthrax, although it was never proven.

 

He was also infamous for posting pictures of himself while traveling the world flaunting his wealth and lavish lifestyle. There are images of him all over the internet posing and in front of expensive cars and yachts with celebrities like Paris Hilton.

 

Arechiga will turn 40 next month. Authorities believe he is back in Sinaloa where he grew up and began working for Chapo Guzman and some of his associates.

21st Space Wing Commander Found Dead In His Home

 

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – The commander of the 21st Space Wing, headquartered at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, has died. Colonel Thomas G. Falzarano was found at his home on Tuesday.

 

Col. Falzarano appears to have died of natural causes, though a thorough investigation is happening. There are no indications that there was a positive COVID-19 case.

United States Supreme Court just had a UNANIMOUS 9-0 vote … 5 DAYS AGO … on the EXACT MOVE that corrupt "Judge" Sullivan is making

 

A lot of anons misunderstood the ruling of SCOTUS on Thursday, May 7th, in United States v. Sineneng-Smith.

SCOTUS, in a 9-0 decision, overruled what the 9th Circuit did.

Many anons thought the decision had to do with the legal issue of the case (regarding illegal aliens). It did not. The decision had to do with THIRD PARTY AMICUS BRIEFS (exactly what Sullivan is now trying to do in the Flynn case).

The 9th Circuit used OUTSIDE PARTIES' OPINIONS in amicus briefs to MAKE THE COURT'S DECISION, rather than rely on the PARTIES TO THE CASE.

 

Justice Ginsberg (of all people) wrote the decision and said:

Instead of adjudicating the case presented by the parties, the appeals court named three amici and invited them to brief and argue issues framed by the panel [of circuit court judges], including a question Sineneng-Smith herself never raised …

Lawyers for the parties to the appeal were assigned a secondary role, Ginsburg said. The three amici appointed to brief and argue were the circuit’s Federal Defender Organizations (as a group), the Immigrant Defense Project, and the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild. The panel identified three issues for the briefing and gave amici 20 minutes to argue and 10 minutes to Sineneng-Smith’s counsel.

The party presentation principle is supple, not ironclad,” Ginsburg wrote. β€œThere are no doubt circumstances in which a modest initiating role for a court is appropriate. But this case scarcely fits that bill.”

Although a court is not β€œhide-bound” by a party’s counsel’s precise arguments, Ginsburg said β€œthe Ninth Circuit’s radical transformation of this case goes well beyond the pale.”

 

Sullivan is trying to do the EXACT SAME THING. He is inviting outsiders who are NOT PARTIES TO THE CASE to come in and give their opinion, so Sullivan can MAKE A DECISION BASED ON THEIR VIEWPOINTS, and not the parties themselves (both of whom want the case dismissed).

Sullivan called Flynn a traitor. No, Mr. Sullivan (you are now acting outside of your judicial authority, so you are not a "judge" anymore) … YOU are the traitor to your country.

Let's see if Sydney Powell is on top of her game. She should appeal what Sullivan is doing. If she does, she will win. SCOTUS just ruled unanimously on this very issue less than a week ago!

If there is a silver lining here, maybe it is being done to establish, once and for all, that this type of shit that DS courts have been doing for years will NOT be tolerated in the upcoming prosecutions.
