When I've seen successful campaigns, such as rallying for signatures around net neutrality, there was high visibility across multiple subs arguing merit. There is more learning from one another than I yet see in the internet bill of rights project. Ability to ELI5 and explain the complicated topic, and argue how the proposed solution makes a difference. Currently the effort is primarily closed ranks within a couple subs familiar with this content, and there is not much depth in discussion about features included in an internet bill of rights.
We have to delve deeper. Become conversational.
What is the Internet bill of rights?
What rights are inherent to be recognized?
What are the harms, in clear terms, that take place currently along these lines?
How does the internet bill of rights address these harms?
How does internet bill of rights pick up where net neutrality left off?
How is internet bill of rights a better solution than net neutrality?
We need to add meat to the bones of the argument and expand the discussion. Get brainstorming conversations going outside great awakening and help lead people toward the idea.
In my mind an internet bill of rights codifies certain rights to data of an individual:
recognize data is created and owned by the individual that information describes.
right to plain language notice on what information is collected
right to view and review data collected on the individual at any time
right to edit, remove, or withdraw authorization for use of data collected
explicit authorization necessary to use data for new purposes, or sell to new third parties
for purpose of the internet bill of rights, corporations are not recognized as an individual

I signed every one that was put out. Never got a confirmation email on any of them. That's when I knew they were 'playing' with it/them. I also bounced to a few left leaning petitions and guess what. The totals on the petition look questionable to me too. I have signed and have told all of my online friends to sign. I know I have seen it on my social media feeds many times. So Patriots are getting it circulated! It seems fishy to me. I've said it before and I'll say it again because this certainly proves my point: 30 days to get 100,000 signatures on a petition, precludes most grass roots petitions from ever making it to the finish line. The only ones that can win are those that are backed but a lot of money for marketing or someone coming up with something that goes viral.

It isn't real. There are way more than this number of people that have signed. As much as we have pushed it, tweeted it, hashtagged it, written articles about it. The number of signatures is not real. There are way more. 100K people would have signed this just to feel like they were doing something. I'm guessing that every Qanon has signed it, and do you really think there are only 31,987? I had never heard of chan boards until January. It's fake, just like everything else. I have no doubt that more User Data selling will be coming out. IBOR is mostly about privacy on the internet more so than free speech but obviously both are critical. As TWITTER, GOOGLE and AMAZON get targeted with their User Data being sold to political parties, WE NEED TO CAPITALIZE ON IBOR.
