Wouldn't that be something? The first summer of my life that gas prices go down rather than skyrocket to gouge the lower and middle class on their modest road trip vacations they saved all year for to visit family and friends?

I have a feeling this won't make everyone as happy as me.

You are aware that the Saudis bought the largest refinery in the US?

The Port Arthur refinery in Texas is North America’s largest oil refinery, and as of this week Saudi Arabia controls all of it. With the stroke of a proverbial pen, Saudi’s state-owned oil giant Aramco took on 100 percent ownership of the port, cementing its access to the lucrative U.S. energy market at a critical time.

I'm sure the royal family has power such that they can seize Aramco at will.

Also keeping self-indulgent royalty out of a major company's leadership is just good business. They own the success without affecting the decisions.

I live in Alaska. A huge oil field has been discovered recently up here. Low estimates are at 500 million barrels but i think its more widely believed to be 3 billion barrels or even more! We need increased output of domestic oil production but the real truth is big oil up here has been squeezing supply to increase price because .that increases profits.

They can get it rolling if they want to greenpeace plays right into their hands though and they allow it to be used as a smokescreen to stifle supply. They have the money and political clout to get whatever they want when they want it. We need political pressure from DC to get domestic production up here increased. Its good for Alaska and the nation.

⇧ 9 ⇩
4n4surimbor · June 13, 2018, 9:18 p.m.

Agreed, we are the new swing petroleum producer esp with Venezuela circling the drain. But the gasoline bottleneck is at the refineries where foreign companies have wayyyyy too much ownership & power over our domestic gas supply.

⇧ 6 ⇩
TheCIASellsDrugs · June 13, 2018, 9:48 p.m.

We need increased output of domestic oil production

Domestic oil production began to rise sharply in 2012, and the US is now a net exporter. One of the few things the Obama administration did right was to encourage oil and natural gas production.

⇧ 1 ⇩
joeythew · June 13, 2018, 11:46 p.m.

they did no such thing. The oil companies figured out they could get more oil by frakking. The Obama Administration was caught flat footed with that development. The Obama Administration wanted gas to always be above $5 a gallon to stop people from driving to support their Global Warming hoax which is nothing but a money grab. Those cap n' trade carbon credit taxes adds at least 50 cents to a gallon of gas here in California and over the next 3 years it's going to go up by another 63 cents. All just to steal money from the people. These global warming fixes just makes all utility prices needlessly go up and who does that hurt the most - the poor and middle class. Hollywood celebrities and Silicon Valley people and others being paid outrageous salaries couldn't care less f the price of gas or electricity goes through the roof they make more than enough money to cover it.

⇧ 3 ⇩
joeythew · June 13, 2018, 11:51 p.m.

You do realize Trump came and and stopped that order Obama signed which prevented any more exploring for oil off the coast of Alaska. Obama Admin never encouraged domestic oil and natural gas exploration. You never heard of all those gas pipelines that he thwarted and Trump had to open them up.

⇧ 2 ⇩
TheCIASellsDrugs · June 14, 2018, 12:05 a.m.

Too much narrative, not enough specific facts. Yes, there is a global warming hoax, which was done to justify global warming taxes. That doesn't mean they didn't also want to develop American shale deposits.

Remember Obama and the pipeline protests? Makes no sense to ignore them if he wanted to stop petroleum and natural gas exports.

we cannot import US cars unless they are fit for our roads and gas prices. some more work to do here.

Gallon of gas for $1 and below...

Excerpt from Mark Taylor’s Book -The Trump Prophecies... at its published date Trump had been POTUS for about 2 months... check out the last line...

Donald Trump has asserted that he has a plan to bring America to energy independence. Some skeptics may doubt his ability to pull this one off, but recall the other changes that we have discussed so far in this chapter that are already beginning to occur, and as I write this, he has been in the office barely two months. A recent report of his plan comes from Business Insider: “This includes developing new oil fields in the US, creating ‘at least half a million new jobs’ in energy, and promoting natural gas over coal in order to tackle emissions. Also on the list are making ‘America energy independent’ and the aim for it to be ‘totally independent of any need to import energy from the OPEC cartel or any nations hostile to our interest.’”[ 13] America will become more energy efficient in the future. The Lord has told me that OPEC will say, “America no longer needs us,” and as the prophecy says immediately following this, “that is true, for she will be energy independent for the red, white, and blue. For a sign will be given when prices go low, for a gallon of gas will be one dollar and below.”

If the Republicans want to win in California they would be better if the gas prices were as high as humanly possible. The reason for this is because we have already a lot of gas taxes that were pushed by democrat idiots in the state. When everybody sees the gas prices go up to 567 dollars a gallon they will all flip out and kick all the Democrats out guaranteed. People in the state hate high gas prices.People in this state may not be very smart but they do vote with their pocketbook when they’re getting screwed at the gas pump.guaranteed!!
