Earlier this week, special counsel John Durham handed out the first indictment coming out of his investigation into the relationship between the Trump campaign and Russia, charging Perkins Coie lawyer Michael Sussman with lying to the FBI about his affiliation with the Clinton campaign.

 

Sussman allegedly provided evidence of ties between team Trump and the Russian-based Alfa Bank to FBI general counsel James Baker, telling Baker he was acting as a concerned private citizen in handing over sensitive information. In reality, he was billing the Clinton campaign for his work, according to the indictment.

 

Moreover, Sussman allegedly had come into the information by way of a tech executive set to receive a post in the thought-to-be-forthcoming Clinton administration. Grand Jury Indicts D.C. Attorney with Making False Statements to the FBI in 2016 Regarding Alleged Communications Between Trump Organization and Russian Bank

Special Counsel John Durham today announced that a federal grand jury returned an indictment in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia charging Michael A. Sussmann, 57, a Washington, D.C.-based attorney, with making a false statement to the FBI on Sept. 19, 2016. The charge in the indictment stems from a set of allegations brought by Sussmann to the FBI related to an alleged secret channel of communications between the Trump Organization and a Russian bank.

 

Sussmann is expected to make his initial appearance in the D.C. federal court as soon as tomorrow. The court will schedule the appearance.

 

As alleged in the indictment, on Sept. 19, 2016, Sussman, a lawyer at a large international law firm, met with the FBI General Counsel at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Sussmann had requested the meeting to provide the General Counsel with certain data files and “white papers” that allegedly demonstrated a covert communications channel between the Trump Organization and a Russia-based bank. Sussmann, who had previously represented the Democratic National Committee in connection with a cyber hack, falsely stated to the General Counsel that he was not bringing these allegations to the FBI on behalf of any client. This false representation led the General Counsel to understand that Sussmann was providing information as a good citizen rather than a paid advocate or political operative. In fact, Sussmann assembled and conveyed the allegations to the FBI on behalf of at least two clients, including a U.S. technology executive and the Clinton Presidential Campaign.

 

It is alleged that beginning in July 2016, Sussmann worked with the aforementioned U.S. technology executive, other cyber researchers, and a U.S.-based investigative firm to assemble the data and white papers that Sussmann ultimately provided to the FBI and the media. The technology executive, for his part, exploited his access to non-public data at multiple internet companies and enlisted the assistance of researchers at a U.S.-based university who were receiving and analyzing internet data in connection with a pending federal government cybersecurity research contract designed to identify the perpetrators of malicious cyber-attacks and protect U.S. national security. The indictment further alleges that researchers were tasked to mine this internet data to establish “an inference” and “narrative” that would tie then-presidential candidate Donald Trump to Russia, and which the executive believed would please certain “VIPs.” The indictment also alleges that Sussmann, his law firm, and the technology executive coordinated with representatives and agents of the Clinton Campaign in these efforts.

 

It is further alleged that Sussmann’s false statement misled FBI personnel and deprived the FBI of information that might have permitted it more fully to assess and uncover the origins of the relevant data and analysis, including the identities and motivations of Sussmann’s clients.

 

The FBI ultimately determined that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations of a secret communications channel between the Trump Organization and the Russia-based bank.

 

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant Special Counsel Andrew DeFilippis and Assistant Special Counsel Michael T. Keilty, with the support and assistance of other members of Special Counsel Durham’s team. The Special Counsel’s investigation is ongoing.

 

An indictment is merely an allegation and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

A dakhma (Persian: ), also known as the Tower of Silence, is a circular, raised structure built by Zoroastrians for excarnation–that is, the exposure of human dead bodies to the elements for decay in order to avert contamination of the soil with the corpses.[1][2][3] Carrion birds, usually vultures and other scavengers, would typically consume the flesh and the skeletal remains would have been left in the pit.[1][2]

 

Zoroastrian exposure of the dead is first attested in the mid-5th century BCE Histories of Herodotus, but the use of towers is first documented in the early 9th century CE.[1][2] The doctrinal rationale for exposure is to avoid contact with Earth, Water, or Fire, all three of which are considered sacred in the Zoroastrian religion.[2][3]

 

One of the earliest literary descriptions of such a building appears in the late 9th-century Epistles of Manushchihr, where the technical term is astodan, "ossuary". Another technical term that appears in the 9th/10th-century texts of Zoroastrian tradition (the so-called "Pahlavi books") is dakhmag, for any place for the dead.

Rationale

Zoroastrian tradition considers human cadavers and animal corpses (in addition to cut hair and nail parings) to be nasu, unclean, i.e. potential pollutants.[1][2][3] Specifically, the corpse demon (Avestan: nasu.daeva) was believed to rush into the body and contaminate everything it came into contact with,[3][4] hence the Vīdēvdād (an ecclesiastical code "given against the demons") has rules for disposing of the dead as safely as possible.[1] Moreover, the Vīdēvdād requires that graves, and raised tombs as well, must be destroyed.[1]

 

To preclude the pollution of the sacred elements: Earth, Water, and Fire (see Zam and Atar respectively), the bodies of the dead are placed at the top of towers and so exposed to the sun and to scavenging birds and wild dogs.[1][2][3] Thus, "putrefaction with all its concomitant evils… is most effectually prevented."[5]

Illegal vaccine link to Gulf war syndrome

 

The illness known as Gulf war syndrome looks likely to have been caused by an illegal vaccine "booster" given by the Ministry of Defence to protect soldiers against biological weapons, according to the results of a new series of tests.

 

Scientists in the United States found that symptoms of the illness were the same for service personnel who received the injections whether or not they served in the Gulf.

 

The common factor for the 275,000 British and US veterans who are ill appears to be a substance called squalene, allegedly used in injections to add to their potency. Such an action would have been illegal. Squalene is not licensed for use on either side of the Atlantic because of potential side effects.

Arizona Audit Report To Be Made Public Sept. 24

 

Arizona’s Maricopa County forensic audit results will be heard on Friday, Sept. 24, per a spokesperson for the Senate Republicans. The report will be a public presentation held on the Senate floor and open to the media. The audit has been dubbed by many to be “Americas Audit” because it is the first audit to ever examine an election with such attention to detail.

The forensic audit took a deep dive into the election equipment and examined approximately 2.1 million ballots. UncoverDC reported the Senate Republicans still do not have routers, hardware keys, and admin passwords from the county. Arizona’s Attorney General, Mark Brnovich, told the Maricopa Board of Supervisors (MCBOS) they have until the end of September to deliver them or face losing state-shared funds.

 

The MCBOS has convened on several occasions, including a special meeting on Sept. 15. They have called another special meeting for 4:45 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17. The link for virtual attendance at the meeting can be found here. There is a meeting on Sept. 20 addressing subpoenas.

 

While the audit report is fulsome, with four volumes of material, it is not yet complete. The team still has none of the subpoenaed materials referenced above. And the audit team has yet to do the canvass promised in the original contract. A group of citizens, led by Liz Harris, canvassed Maricopa county. UncoverDC reported on the findings on Sept. 8:

 

“The Maricopa County canvassing results are now published. Biden allegedly won by 10,457 votes in Arizona, yet, the report shows 173,104 “lost votes” and “96,389” ghost votes.”

 

Arizona Rep., Mark Finchem, spoke about the soon-to-be-revealed comprehensive report, saying “it is as complete as can be.” He urges his colleagues to perform a canvass in other parts of the state, including his own Pima County. He emphasizes his experiences listening to Arizonans. He says, “The people asked for this audit. Many people asked for this audit.”

 

Senator Wendy Rogers has been an avid supporter of the audit. She has circulated her petition requesting a decertification of the Arizona 2020 election. She has almost reached her initial goal of 1 million signatures.

UncoverDC reported the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) attended a scheduled conference in Des Moines, Iowa, in mid-August. There was allegedly very little support for forensic audits from attendees:

IG Blasts Biden’s Handling of Border Crisis as Surge Overwhelms Del Rio

 

The Democratic mayor of a Texas border town is pleading with the Biden administration to do more to stop the flood of migrants at the southern border at the same time the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General found that the federal government's failure to test migrants for COVID-19 puts the health of Americans at great risk.

 

Bruno Lozano, who serves as mayor of Del Rio, Texas, put out a video on Twitter Friday morning warning about the "real time threats" of COVID-19 and "other communicable diseases."

 

"This is something that really needs to be brought to light," the mayor said. "We need quick action from the administration. We need quick attention to this. We need a response in real-time."

 

Those health threats were underscored in a government watchdog report on the Biden administration's handling of the migrant crisis. The IG report called out Customs and Border Protection's failure to "conduct COVID-19 testing for migrants who enter…custody" and noted that the White House has not required it to do so. That policy, the IG wrote, puts federal employers' "support staff, communities, and migrants at greater risk of contracting the virus."

 

Lozano says nearly 11,000 migrants currently sit under the Del Rio International Bridge, with thousands more crossing in every few hours. At the current rate, the number of migrants waiting for processing at the Del Rio International Bridge could soon surpass the entire population of the city, which sits at just under 36,000.

 

Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) attacked the federal government's response to the unfolding humanitarian crisis in Del Rio, noting the lack of proper shelter, health care, and safety precautions for the thousands of migrants in the city.

 

"The Biden administration is in complete disarray and is handling the border crisis as badly as the evacuation from Afghanistan," Abbott said.

 

A COVID-19 outbreak among the migrants could prove disastrous for the town of Del Rio. The regional hospital in the area, Val Verde, only hosts seven ICU beds.

 

According to the IG, the Biden administration never "documented" a "formal policy" for COVID-19 testing of migrants. The sheer volume of migrants crossing the border makes "proper physical distancing in holding facilities" impossible. The crisis grew so dire in the Del Rio sector that the Department of Homeland Security deployed agents from its Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office from March until May.

 

Despite Lozano's appeals to the White House, DHS leadership told watchdogs the agency's chief medical officer will not finish its "active monitoring and impact analysis of mitigation efforts" against the spread of COVID-19 until Sept. 30, 2022.

This is an interesting post. I have only seen about one Twilight Zone episode, but it seems like I was "meant" to see it. There was this war between a reptile like species and humans. A second individual has now been indicted in Special Counsel John Durham’s long-running investigation into the origins of the Trump/Russia collusion hoax. First, it was Kevin Clinesmith. Now, just days before the statute of limitations was due to run out, Durham has indicted top Democrat lawyer Michael Sussmann for lying to the FBI. It sounds minor, but it’s important.

 

the indictment charge against Sussmann is not for his peddling false information to the FBI, but for his claim that he had no political connections, and therefore no political motive. In truth, Sussmann was working for the Hillary Clinton campaign’s law firm, Perkins Coie, for whom he was paid for specifically delivering the erroneous Alfa Bank/Trump claim.

 

Sussmann represents the lesser known second leg of Clinton’s Trump/Russia collusion hoax, as his allegation failed to gain traction within the FBI. The first leg was the bogus Christopher Steele dossier, which provided the third leg, the deep state within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department, the excuse needed to investigate and surveil the Trump campaign.

 

“Many more people,” indeed. This was an attempted coup by the biggest of big players. We think it’s pretty clear that Sussmann is a cutout acting on behalf of more powerful figures, from James Comey and John Brennan all the way up to Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. His indictment — for now, at least — allows the bigger conspirators off the hook, and he could end up being a scapegoat. The question is whether John Durham is pulling all the pieces of the plot together with more serious indictments coming in the future.

After years of Robert Durst grabbing headlines for misdeeds both proven and alleged, some may feel it’s about time the focus was placed back on the woman whose disappearance got the whole sordid saga rolling. Kathleen Durst’s body was never found, and there was not enough compelling evidence to bring charges against her husband. But friends and family who were privy to their troubled marriage came to believe early on that Durst was responsible for her disappearance. One friend who stood by him was Susan Berman, an author known for memoirs of her life as a mobster’s daughter. Some suspected that Berman knew more about what became of Kathie than she was telling, and in 2000 Durst may have suspected that she was finally starting to talk. Later that year, she was shot execution-style in her Los Angeles home.

The investigation foundered as Durst prospered in his father’s real estate business. Then, in the 1990s, he left the firm after a family dispute and himself disappeared from sight, only to resurface in Galveston, Texas as the main suspect in the murder/dismemberment of neighbor Morris Black. There was a manhunt, Durst was caught, and acquitted (though he did cop to cutting up his neighbor’s body.)

In the meanwhile, Susan Berman, a longtime female friend of Durst also turned up murdered execution-style in her Los Angeles home. On March 14, 2015, Durst was arrested by the FBI in connection with Berman's murder, and in March 2020, Durst's trial began only to be postponed due to COVID-19.

Here are some of the more bizarre details of his story:

Trouble attached itself early to Durst

When he was seven, his 32-year-old mother either jumped or fell to her death from the roof of the family home in Scarsdale, New York. Durst was a witness; years of counseling followed. As a child, his eccentricities included pretending to be in a school band and hiding his tuba in the woods.

Despite his wealth, Durst styled himself a member of the counterculture in the late 1960s and early 1970s

While enrolled at UCLA, he minored in marijuana intake, engaged in primal scream therapy alongside John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and became an acolyte of Beatles guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. In the early 70s, he met Kathleen, and the couple moved to New Hampshire to run a health food store.

Durst seemed less than concerned after his wife’s disappearance

Kathleen was on the verge of extricating herself from what friends described as a controlling, abusive Durst when she vanished in 1982. Durst did not report the disappearance for four days, and his accounts of the last time he saw his wife in their Westchester County home kept changing and did not hold up to scrutiny. The police were stumped, but after several of Kathleen’s friends undertook their own investigation, their homes were burglarized and relevant materials were stolen.

Durst was not a fan of his younger brother

Douglas Durst revealed that he and his brother’s long-standing enmity extended to keeping weapons — a plumber’s wrench for Durst, a piece of pipe for Douglas — close at hand in their Durst Organization offices during the 1990s. Berman grew up among Las Vegas mobsters

On Christmas Eve of 2000, Durst pal and supporter Susan Berman, who had written books about her girlhood amongst Las Vegas mobsters like Bugsy Siegel, was found dead in her California home. A single gunshot wound to the head made it look like a gang hit. But it then emerged that New York State Police had been in touch with Berman about the Kathleen cold case. Durst was arrested by the FBI on March 14, 2015, in connection with Berman's murder.

In 2000, the same year as Berman's murder, a cross-dressing Durst turned up in Galveston

Dressed in drag and posing as a mute woman called Dorothy Ciner (the name of an actual childhood acquaintance), Durst moved into a shabby apartment in the Texas coastal city. At times he also passed as a mute man, and sometimes as Ciner’s house guest, Durst.

Ciner was no more to be trusted than Durst

In September 2001, pieces of Ciner's neighbor, 71-year-old Black, started washing ashore around Galveston. No head was ever recovered. A trail of blood was found leading from Black’s apartment to Ciner’s. Her true identity was revealed, and Durst was arrested, but posted bail and escaped.

Durst was arrested while stealing from a supermarket

Still dressed in a woman’s wig, Durst was apprehended while stealing a sandwich, a newspaper, and a Band-Aid from a Pennsylvania supermarket. He pled innocent to the murder charge during the trial, claiming a struggle over a gun had led to Black’s death (while admitting to carving up the man’s body with a paring knife). Durst was acquitted of murder, although he served some time on lesser charges.

Durst's brother suggests he's a dog slayer

With interest revived in Kathleen's disappearance and presumed murder, Douglas revealed a theory in his Times interview. According to his account, Durst had a succession of seven Alaskan Malamutes (all named Igor) who mysteriously died over the months leading to Kathleen’s disappearance. C

Public urination has tripped Durst up on more than one occasion

In July 2014, Durst was arrested when he exposed himself and urinated on a candy rack at a Houston CVS. Douglas recalls that his older brother’s fate with the Durst Organization may have been sealed when he peed in an uncle’s wastebasket.

About 40 years ago on a camping trip in the badlands, I walked out on one of those narrow ridges to its end and sat down with canyons all around me and watched the sunrise. Still sticks with me. And I've met the sunrise in many, many beautiful places thousands of times…on purpose. You have excellent taste, the badlands canyons are an especially spiritual place in a land full of many.
