AOC Tests Positive For COVID

 

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has tested positive for Covid-19, less than one week after she was spotted partying maskless at a crowded bar in Miami.

 

"Representative Ocasio-Cortez has received a positive test result for COVID-19. She is experiencing symptoms and recovering at home. The Congresswoman received her booster shot this Fall, and encourages everyone to get their booster and follow all CDC guidance," reads a statement from her office.

Multiple sources connected to the iconic comedian and actor most famous for his starring role as Danny Tanner in 'Full House' tell us he passed away Sunday at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando.

 

The Sheriff's Department and the fire department responded to the hotel around 4 PM ET … after hotel security had found Bob in his room. We're told he was pronounced dead on the scene, but the circumstances of his death are still unclear.

 

Bob's been touring the country lately, hitting a lot of destinations throughout the state of Florida, including in Orlando, which got started in September and was supposed to take him through May.

 

On Saturday night, he was in Jacksonville doing a show at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall … where he actually shouted out the crowd early Sunday morning.

 

Saget wrote, "Loved tonight’s show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight. I’m happily addicted again to this shit. Check http://BobSaget.com for my dates in 2022."

 

Saget played the patriarch on the hit ABC sitcom for almost 10 years, landing the lead star role in 1987 and finishing out its first iteration in '95 – opposite stars John Stamos, Dave Coulier, of course … not to mention his TV daughters, Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin as well as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who swapped the duties of portraying Michelle.

 

While his turn as the quintessential family man is what a lot of people will remember him for – truth is, Saget was a pretty raunchy guy … especially in his stand-up comedy. BS's comedy contributions were put on full display in his memorable Comedy Central roast … where a ton of his longtime comic buddies tore him a new one, kiddingly and with love.

 

He proved to be a good sport … taking shots from the likes of Gilbert Gottfried, Norm Macdonald, Greg Giraldo, Jon Lovitz, Jeff Ross, Brian Posehn and others. He even had some jokes of his own to fire off … making for perhaps one of the most memorable roasts in the Comedy Central vault – speaking to Saget's influence on the craft.

 

In addition to his stand-up and 'Full House' fame … Saget will also be remembered as a fan fave host of "America's Funniest Home Videos," of which he served as host from '89 to '97, running concurrently with his time/tone on 'FH.' Speaking of Mr. Tanner … he reprised his role for Netflix's reboot of the franchise, "Fuller House," which ran for 4 years and ended in 2020.

 

Bob's other notable acting credits include … a recurring role on 'Entourage,' in which he played a zany version of himself, the narrator's voice of 'How I Met Your Mother,' another sitcom he starred in called 'Raising Dad,' one of the penguins in "Farce of the Penguins," the lead in "Surviving Suburbia," and standout cameo in 'Half Baked' as a recovering crack head … among many, many other appearances on film and television over the years.

 

Lately, he's been getting back to his roots with a podcast series called "Bob Saget's Here for You," and was even featured as one of the celebrity guests on the "Masked Singer" not too long ago.

 

The last time we got him out was in late 2019, when he was laughing it up with fans and paps outside of Craig's in West Hollywood … while also taking photos and signing autographs.

 

He wished Jeff Ross a happy 41st birthday, and seemed to be in really good spirits.

 

Bob is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and 3 children.

Bob Saget Death Hoax Dismissed Since Actor Is ‘Alive And Well’

 

On Sunday (January 09) the actor's reps officially confirmed that Bob Saget is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.

 

Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved actor. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.

There were also 18 deaths were recorded in the 24 hours to Sunday — the highest number in a single day since the pandemic began — including a three-year-old boy.

 

There are 159 people in intensive care, up from 151 the previous day. Of those, 47 are on a ventilator.

 

Over 84,333 COVID-19 tests were taken, making today's positivity rate about 24 per cent.

 

NSW chief health officer, Dr Chant said cases were likely much higher than they appeared.

 

"That clearly is an underestimate as people are moving and transitioning to rapid antigen testing," she said.

 

"But just to let you know that's certainly hopefully freeing up quite a lot of our capacity for PCR testing for those that need it."

 

The NSW government said it would later this week allow for rapid antigen test (RAT) results to be registered through the Service NSW app.

 

The results will count towards the state's daily COVID-19 case tallies, with the change made to alleviate pressure on testing centres across the state.

 

Household contacts will no longer be required to confirm their positive RAT with a PCR test when the system goes live.

 

Dr Chant was worried some COVID-positive people were "falling through the cracks" by not getting tested and therefore not being linked to potentially critical health care.

Judge Anthony Kelly told the Federal Court he was 'agitated' after learning all the steps the world No.1 took to assure he'd be welcome in Australia.

 

'A professor and qualified physician have provided the applicant a medical exemption, the basis of which was given by a further independent expert specialist panel established by the Victorian state government… that document was in the hands of the delegate,' he said.

 

'The point I'm somewhat agitated about is, what more could this man have done?'

 

Djokovic's barrister Nick Wood said he'd been asking himself the same question, and said the Serbian star was adamant he did everything that was asked of him.

 

Djokovic's court case descended into a farce from the outset of the hearing, with an old link to broadcast the hearing over Microsoft Teams was hijacked with pornographic pictures and techno music on Monday morning.

 

Meanwhile, an alternative livestream set up by Federal Court staff crashed when the world's media tried to log in.

 

The tennis champion has been detained in a Melbourne hotel used to house refugees since his unsuccessful bid to enter Australia last Wednesday, where he was denied entry on the basis he was unvaccinated and did not have a valid exemption.

 

The hearing, before Judge Anthony Kelly, began without the press or interested parties watching on, due to the IT difficulties, but was up and running for the public by 10.45am.

 

Djokovic did not tune in for the hearing and remains in the Park Hotel where he's spent the last five days.

‘Full House’ Star Bob Saget Dead At 65

 

TMZ is reporting that comedian and actor Bob Saget, a television fixture on sitcom Full House and in the early seasons as host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, was found dead in his room in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida on January 9. He was 65.

 

According to TMZ, the sheriff's department and the fire department responded to the hotel around 4 p.m. after hotel security had found Saget unresponsive in his room. The circumstances of his death are unclear.

 

Born May 17, 1956 in Philadelphia, Saget was cast as family head Danny Tanner on ABC’s kids-themed Full House after a short stint on CBS' The Morning Program in 1987. The series, which was rebooted by Netflix as Fuller House in 2016 (with Saget appearing on an occasional basis), aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995 and was the precursor to the network’s “T.G.I.F.” comedy brand.

Given widespread public dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the current coronavirus outbreak, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett appealed for patience Sunday evening, saying he was aware of the frustration over the frequently changing testing and quarantine rules, and lack of compensation to businesses.

 

The government is reportedly weighing reversing the new controversial policy to limit PCR tests to risk groups while having the general public take less-accurate antigen tests.

 

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman dismissed complaints from business owners who reported a steep decrease in income, claiming that “all businesses are in excellent shape” and that the government would not be handing “gifts” in the form of payouts, which he deemed “election bribes.”

“I have heard, and I don’t know if this is true, and I’d be honored if it is true, that our president and Michelle’s children are ‘Full House’ fans. I have heard that,” the comedian, who played the sitcom’s irreproachable dad Danny Tanner, cautiously told ITK.

 

Asked if he would have any message for Sasha and Malia Obama if they are indeed regular “Full House” watchers, Saget cracked, “They should know that that’s exactly what I’m like off-screen. I’m no different than that.”

 

Well, that might not be entirely accurate.

 

In his first book hitting store shelves this week, Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian, Saget chronicles his life, and the road he took from working as an R-rated stand-up comic to becoming a classic TV dad.

 

While he likens his “potty mouth” to “9-year-old speak,” the book isn’t all dirty jokes and raunchy tales.

 

Saget, 57, writes of visiting Walter Reed Army Medical Center each time he visits Washington. Promotion of his book will soon bring him to the nation’s capital. He’ll be discussing Dirty Daddy at a book signing on Thursday night at Sidecar at P.J. Clarke’s in downtown Washington.

 

He says he’s working on making a return trip to Capitol Hill sometime later this year to push for funding for scleroderma research. Saget, whose sister died of the autoimmune disease at 47, is a board member of the Scleroderma Research Foundation.

 

He met with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton once on the issue, calling the ex-first lady “very kind.”

 

“There are other lawmakers that I would enjoy spending time with,” he says before adding with a chuckle, “I’m sure many people don’t say that.”

 

But any talk of politics quickly turns to laughs for the first-time author. In a 2008 interview, Saget jested that his friend and fellow “Full House” star John Stamos should be chosen as Barack Obama’s running mate.

 

When pressed on whether he stands by Stamos stepping in the political ring, a laughing Saget states, “I don’t know if Stamos should jump into anything but a bathtub.”
