Businesses surrounding Zanesville's Masonic Temple ordered to close following major fire

ZANESVILLE โ€” A number of Zanesville's downtown businesses must remain closed following a late-night fire that destroyed the historic Masonic Temple.

 

According to Muskingum County EMA Director Jeff Jadwin, business on Fourth Street located between Market Street and Main Street are included in that order.

 

That includes several law offices, the county courthouse, law administration building and North Valley Bank.

Roads in downtown Zanesville remain closed due to fire

 

Many downtown roads remain closed Friday morning, including Fourth, Fifth, portions of Main and Market Streets, as well as Fountain Alley and the alley between Main and Market Streets.

 

The fire caused severe damage to the Masonic Temple which will eventually result in its demolition.

 

Zanesville Fire Chief Jeff Bell said the next step is to figure out how to safely bring a seven story building to the ground.

Americaโ€™s Frontline Doctors File Brief in the Supreme Court Case to be Heard Today on Bidenโ€™s COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate for Health Care Workers at Facilities Receiving Federal Funding

 

Americaโ€™s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) filed a brief for a case going before the Supreme Court today. The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments on the Biden administrationโ€™s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers at facilities that receive federal funding.

As you are likely aware, the medical consensus on the COVID-19 โ€œvaccineโ€ effectiveness is that they do not prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2. As you also may know, AFLDS recently filed a brief with the Supreme Court noting that these injections are merely a personal treatment choice, and not a public health measure at all. With over 50 other citations, AFLDSโ€™ brief breaks new legal ground.

 

We want to remind you that the SCOTUS has scheduled one hour of oral argument on the OSHA mandate tomorrow, Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. EST. A second hour of oral argument on the CMS mandate for healthcare workers will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. EST.

 

The following is in their brief:

 

It is the consensus of the medical community that the currently available Covid-19 vaccine injections do not prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2. Relevant federal agencies have repeatedly acknowledged this consensus. Therefore, there is no scientific or legal justification for OSHA to segregate injected and un-injected people. Indeed, since the Covid-19 injections do not confer immunity upon the recipients, but are claimed to merely reduce the symptoms of the disease, they do not fall within the long-established definition of a vaccine at all. They are instead treatments and must be analyzed as such under the law.

 

Even if OSHA possessed the statutory and constitutional authority to issue the ETS now challenged before the Court, which it does not, the substantive due process clause of the Fifth Amendment would require the federal government to establish that the OSHA ETS is narrowly tailored to meet a compelling state interest. This is a standard it cannot meet.

President Trumpโ€™s Former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham Says Ex-Trump Officials to Meet to Decide How to Stop Him

 

Former White House Press Secretary for President Trump, Stephanie Grisham, says that a group of former Trump officials are getting together to decide how to stop him.

 

Stephanie Grisham was on with CNN:

 

Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Thursday that more than a dozen of her former Trump administration colleagues plan to meet next week to try and stop former President Donald Trump as he continues to โ€œmanipulate people and divide our country.โ€

 

โ€œNext week, a group of former Trump staff are going to come together, administration officials are going to come together and weโ€™re going to talk about how we can formally do some things to try and stop him and also, the extremism, that that kind of violence, rhetoric that has been talked about and continues to divide our country,โ€ Grisham told CNNโ€™s John Berman and Brianna Keilar in an interview on โ€œNew Day.โ€

 

Grisham, who was also chief of staff to former first lady Melania Trump, declined to reveal who will be joining her in the efforts, but said there would be โ€œabout 15โ€ of her former colleagues, including some who worked inside the White House. Some of the officials, she said, were junior to her, while others were senior. A few of the officials had โ€œinformal chats,โ€ did outreach to others, and conducted โ€œsome Zooms, some conference calls,โ€ culminating in the partially in-person formal meeting next week, according to Grisham.

Several people involved in the effort who spoke to CNN said the group currently includes between 15 to 20 individuals who served in the Trump administration, but have since soured on the former President, and who believe his indisputable control of the Republican Party is negatively impacting the country.

 

Itโ€™s no surprise that Grisham would meet with Bolton and Krebs. Bolton was a disaster and President Trump let the whole world know it after Bolton fell off the rails and pushed for policies, like more military actions, which President Trump was not behind.

 

Krebs oversaw cybersecurity for the election and shared before the election, along with crooked FBI Director Chris Wray that the 2020 Election would be the most secure election ever.

 

The 2020 Election was stolen and Wray did nothing but look the other way, which is something that could never happen in the private sector.

President Trump has been under attack since he first announced he was running for office. These people hate him for calling them out. Itโ€™s no surprise that they would meet to complain and attempt to derail President Trump some more.

Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan Responds to Misleading Mainstream Media Reports on His Companyโ€™s Shutdown

 

Cyber Ninjas is closing shop. The Florida company was hired to run the Arizona Senate audit of the 2020 election in Maricopa County, Arizonaโ€™s largest county. Maricopa voted Democrat for the first time since Harry Truman after World War II. It must have been Joe Bidenโ€™s charisma? Or maybe it was fraud?

 

The media attacked the Florida firm mercilessly for running the investigation on the questionable results in Maricopa County.

 

The audit found evidence of alleged illegal activity and over 700,000 suspect ballots issues.

 

This morning we spoke with Doug Logan, CEO of Cyber Ninjas.

 

Doug told us the media reports were misleading. The companyโ€™s decision to shut down had nothing to do with the court ruling this week in Arizona. An Arizona judge fined Cyber Ninjas $50,000 a day for noncompliance with an August order to turn over audit-related records to the far left Arizona Republic.

 

Doug said the company paid off many of its creditors but was still in debt. In fact, Cyber Ninjas laid off workers in January and made the decision to shut down last year.

 

Logan mentioned that he believes the Arizona Senate should have paid more per their contract. He did say his employees were all paid before they were let go.

Cyber Ninjas, the Florida firm hired by Arizona Senate Republicans to conduct a partisan review of Maricopa Countyโ€™s 2020 ballots, said Thursday evening that it is not longer in business. โ€œCyber Ninjas is shutting down,โ€ company representative Rod Thompson told NBC News. โ€œAll employees have been let go,โ€ including CEO Doug Logan.

State Senate President Karen Fann (R) hired Cyber Ninjas to conduct what she called a โ€œforensic auditโ€ of Maricopaโ€™s ballots, part of a broader effort by allies of former President Donald Trump to find evidence for his claim the election was stolen. Cyber Ninja, which had no election review experience, eventually found that Trump lost the county, and Arizona, to President Biden by more votes than originally counted.

A towed sonar array of the Royal Navyโ€™s HMS Northumberland was hit by a Russian submarine 13 months ago, the UK Ministry of Defence has claimed, after British media reported the incident was captured by a documentary film crew.

 

โ€œIn late 2020, a Russian submarine being tracked by HMS Northumberland came into contact with her towed array sonar,โ€ a Ministry of Defence spokesman alleged, in a rare comment on UK Navy operations. The collision reportedly damaged the sonar โ€“ a large tube filled with sensitive equipment that the ship was towing underwater hundreds of meters behind it.

 

HMS Northumberland was scouting for the โ€œhunter-killerโ€ submarine in the Arctic Circle, some 200 miles north of Scotland, when it disappeared from the shipโ€™s radar. The British MoD did not provide any details to prove it was indeed a Russian undersea vessel, and Russian authorities have not commented on the incident.

 

A Channel 5 crew was aboard at the time of the incident, filming a documentary series titled โ€˜Warship: Life at Seaโ€™. The crew supposedly captured the incident on camera, and it was included in the documentary.

 

The video in question does not show anything resembling a submarine. The footage shows sailors on board HMS Northumberland as they run around and swear, all against the background noise of an alarm signal.

Listening to the Supreme Court oral argument on the vaccine mandate, it is becoming crystal clear WHY the "agency record" built by King (you are NOT allowed to question "science" and ""I AM science") Fauci was so important for them (including complicit media) to create and defend so bizarrely. They threatened to pull licenses from doctors and pharmacists who questioned any of it, addressed natural immunity or, God forbid, offered early treatment.

 

It was so bizarre.

 

But we are now about to get a Supreme Court decision on mandated vaccines based on a "record" that is so skewed to "vaccine is the only option" in the first instance and, secondarily, no discussion allowed on the adverse events from the vaccine, other ways of acquiring immunity, or effective early treatment.

 

Now all of the censorship makes sense. It is hideous and repulsive and unconstitutional. But one more reason (in addition to the depopulation - or whatever the hell the "real" reason is for the vaccine - for the illogical and heavy handied only-one-message-allowed imposition.

 

Whoever couldn't be scared into it by the ever-present fear messaging will be forced (they think) by mandate into it (if they want to work to feed and house their families).

Poland admits buying Israeli Pegasus spyware

 

The leader of the ruling Law and Justice party says it's a good thing that his country obtained the high-tech surveillance software

 

Polandโ€™s most powerful lawmaker has admitted that his country purchased spyware from the controversial Israeli NSO Group. He denied it was being used to target politicians, however, claiming it was used by the secret services.

 

Speaking to the weekly right-wing magazine Sieci, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the leader of Polandโ€™s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, said that it was a positive thing that Polish security services were using powerful snooping software.

 

โ€œIt would be bad if the Polish services did not have this type of tool,โ€ Kaczynski stated, referring to the Israeli NSO software. The full interview is due to be published in Mondayโ€™s edition of Sieci, but excerpts were published on Friday by news portal wPolityce.pl.

 

Kaczynski said that the Pegasus software represented a great technological advancement over existing surveillance systems, noting that security services had previously been unable to read encrypted messages.

 

While admitting that Poland had bought the software from the now-embattled NSO Group, he claimed it had not been used to target politicians, Associated Press reported.

 

The admission follows a number of allegations leveled against the Polish government concerning the use of Pegasus software to snoop on political opponents.

 

In a scandal dubbed โ€˜Polish Watergateโ€™ by local media, it is alleged that the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki had spied on Krzysztof Brejza, a member of the Civic Platform party who coordinated its 2019 election campaign, and on Roman Giertych, a lawyer involved in cases against the PiS party.

 

It is also alleged that Ewa Wrzosek, a prosecutor and opposition figure, has been snooped-on. The allegations were made by Citizen Lab, a cyber-watchdog group at the University of Toronto.

 

โ€œThere is nothing here, no fact, except the hysteria of the opposition. There is no Pegasus case, no surveillance,โ€ Kaczynski said in the interview.

 

โ€œNo Pegasus, no services, no secretly obtained information played any role in the 2019 election campaign. They lost because they lost. They shouldnโ€™t look for such excuses today,โ€ he added.

 

Kaczynskiโ€™s allies have previously denied any dealings with the Israeli spyware-maker. Morawiecki said the Citizen Lab and AP findings were โ€œfake newsโ€ and claimed foreign agents could have been using the spyware.

 

The NSO software grants the user the ability to access the smartphone of their targets, to read messages, look through photos, track locations, and even to switch on the camera, all without the knowledge of the deviceโ€™s user.

White House Blasts "Crazy" Russia-China Statements Accusing US Of 'Color Revolution' In Kazakhstan

 

Unlike most instances where there's crisis or conflicts near Russia's borders, the White House has been slow to respond to fast-moving events in Kazakhstan, only saying that it questions the "legitimacy" of the Kremlin sending troops to the country to help restore order under the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

 

"We are closely monitoring reports that the Collective Security Treaty Organization have dispatched its collective peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan," press secretary Jen Psaki said. "We have questions about the nature of this request and whether it has โ€” it was a legitimate invitation or not. We donโ€™t know at this point."

 

The day prior she had denounced as "crazy" reports out of Russian media that the US and its allies could be stoking the uprising, unrest and destruction - which has seen a presidential residence and multiple government buildings torched, and widespread looting, after dozens of deaths on both the police and protest side. More recently Beijing has also floated that it believes the likelihood that the US is covertly involved.

 

It was during her Wednesday press briefing that Psaki called out the "Russian disinformation playbook" while addressing the Kazakhstan situation:

 

"Weโ€™re monitoring reports of protests in Kazakhstan. We support calls for calm, for protesters to express themselves peacefully and for authorities to exercise restraint," Psaki told reporters during her regular briefing.

 

"There are some crazy Russian claims about the US being behind this. Let me just use this opportunity to convey that as absolutely false, and clearly a part of the standard Russian disinformation playbook."

 

Meanwhile China appears to be backing President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's crackdown on the protests and riots, as well as the deployment of Russian and other foreign peacekeeping troops there. NPR has in its latest cited the presence of at least 3,000 Russian troops on the ground in Kazakhstan at this point.

 

"China supports all efforts that help the Kazakh authorities end the chaos as soon as possible and firmly opposes external forcesโ€™ acts to deliberately create social unrest and incite violence," Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a Friday press conference. He offered help to Kazakh authorities, calling China ready to act as a "a brotherly neighbor".

Ten Dead Bodies Crammed Into Car Left Outside Mexican Governor's Office

 

In the latest sign of Mexico's out-of-control cartel violence, ten bodies were abandoned outside the governor's office, in a public square lit up with Christmas decorations, in the north-central Mexican state of Zacatecas on Thursday.

 

According to CBS News, the state governor, David Monreal, said the bodies of eight men and two women were crammed into a Mazda SUV outside his office; all of the deceased had signs of beating and bruising.

 

"They came to leave them here โ€ฆ bodies, apparently beaten, with wounds," Monreal said.

 

Francisco Murillo, the state's chief prosecutor, said seven of the ten bodies died of "asphyxiation by strangulation." He said five bodies had been identified so far. Three of them have a past criminal record.

 

Murillo said several suspects had been arrested in possible connections to the body dump.

 

The federal public safety department said a man drove the Mazda SUV to the governor's office, then exited the vehicle early Thursday and walked down the street into an alley.

 

Zacatecas has been transformed into a warzone in recent years as Sinaloa and Jalisco cartels, and other drug cartels are fighting to control highways in the state used to transport drugs to the US border.

 

Drug cartels use grisly tactics, such as killing their enemies and displaying them for the public to see as a way to intimidate rival gangs and or even local officials.

 

In November, ten bodies were found hanging from a highway bridge in northwest Zacatecas.

 

"What we received was a cursed inheritance" from previous administrations, Monreal said, referring to the high violent crime in the state.

 

So far, President Andrรฉs Manuel Lรณpez Obrador has had little success in decreasing homicides across the country. There were 31,615 killings in the first 11 months of 2021, a decline of 3.6% from 32,814 in 2020.

 

Meanwhile, Mexico is suing US gunmakers for arming drug cartels. The country is one of the most dangerous in the world.

Taliban weed about to attract millions in foreign investment

 

A German investor plans to produce medical cannabis in Afghanistan

 

CPharm International (ECI), a German research and development firm, has said it is planning a multi-million-dollar investment in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, with the aim of producing weed for medical purposes.

 

Following an unfortunate case of mistaken identity in late 2021, Vice media agency tracked down a German company, CPharm International (ECI), which has struck a deal with the Taliban.

 

Last year, a tweet from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior claimed that a firm called โ€œCpharmโ€ had met with Taliban officials and would invest $450 million in Afghanistan to set up a โ€œhashish-processingโ€ operation. The media wrongly identified a small Australian medical consulting firm of the same name; they vehemently denied the link with the Taliban.

 

Werner Zimmermann, 56, ECIโ€™s owner and managing director, told Vice on Friday he was not happy that news of the deal had gone public, and claimed the scale of the agreement had been misconstrued.

 

His company operates in Lesotho, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, North Macedonia, and Cyprus, with Kazakhstan and Afghanistan soon to be added to the list.

 

Zimmermannโ€™s firm builds cannabis-processing plants and consults on legal issues, such as the feasibility of exporting medical weed to other countries. The Afghan project is due to follow the building of a โ‚ฌ500,000 ($565,818) plant in Kazakhstan.

 

ECI plans to produce medical cannabis in Afghanistan for both local and international markets, but if countries like Germany legalize the drug, they may start growing the plant for recreational use, the businessman told Vice.

Ex-Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield accused of sexually assaulting teen for years

 

LANSING, Mich. โ€” State police in northern Michigan were investigating Thursday after a woman accused former state House Speaker Lee Chatfield of sexually assaulting her multiple times,beginning when she was 14 or 15 years old.

 

The accuser, now 26, filed a criminal complaint with the Lansing Police Department, which referred it to state police earlier this week. Her lawyer, Jamie White, confirmed the nature of the allegations first reported by Lansing City Pulse, including that Chatfield began molesting her more than a decade ago and the sexual contact continued until last year.

 

State police spokesperson Shanon Banner declined to provide additional information.

 

The alleged assaults began when the then-14- or 15-year-old girl attended Northern Michigan Baptist Bible Church and Northern Michigan Christian Academy near Burt Lake, about 60 miles northeast of Traverse City, White said.

 

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they choose to come forward publicly.

 

Chatfield taught and coached at the school and was the athletic director between 2010 and 2014, according to his LinkedIn profile. His father is pastor of the church, the school superintendent and a teacher.

 

Phone and text messages seeking comment were left by the AP Thursday night for Chatfield, 33, who left the House in 2020 due to term limits.

 

โ€œShe did what sheโ€™s supposed to do. She went to the immediate jurisdiction that she thought was appropriate,โ€ White said. โ€œHer and her family, theyโ€™re working through it. Philip Banks, unindicted co-conspirator in bribery scandal, named deputy mayor

 

Mayor Eric Adams has named former NYPD chief Philip Banks โ€” an unindicted co-conspirator in a sweeping federal police corruption case โ€” the deputy mayor of public safety, City Hall sources confirmed Friday.

 

Banks, whoโ€™s long been rumored to be appointed to the reinstituted post by Adams, will return to public office nearly eight years after abruptly resigning from the top uniformed spot in the department amid the federal probe into the NYPD.

 

The post, last held by Milton Mollen in 1992, is tasked with overseeing the NYPD and other public safety matters. Banksโ€™ day-to-day duties, however, were not immediately clear.

 

At the time, Banks had said his rift with then-Police Commissioner Bill Bratton over his promotion to first deputy commissioner, the second in command, spurred his resignation.

 

It was later revealed the rising starโ€™s surprise move came as the feds probed โ€œhundreds of thousandsโ€ of dollars in Banksโ€™ account as part of the investigation into Jona Rechnitz and Jeremy Reichberg, who bribed cops with hookers and jewelry.

 

Banks was never charged in the case but later named by the feds as an unindicted co-conspirator.

 

Rechnitz and Reichberg were both convicted of bribery and corruption and sentenced to 48 months in prison.

 

Banks, as well as Adams, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and pointed to the fact that the feds never brought criminal charges as proof of his innocence.

There is no shortage of heresies these days. If you want to adopt some blasphemous, perverted, fun house mirror reflection of Christianity, you will find a veritable buffet of options. You can sift through all the variants and build your own little pet version of the Faith. Itโ€™s Ice Cream Social Christianity: make your own sundae! (Or Sunday, as it were.) And, of all the heretical choices, probably the most common โ€“ and possibly the most damaging โ€“ is what Iโ€™ve come to call the Nice Doctrine.

 

The propagators of the Nice Doctrine can be seen and heard from anytime any Christian takes any bold stance on any cultural issue, or uses harsh language of any kind, or condemns any sinful act, or fights against evil with any force or conviction at all. As soon as he or she stands and says โ€˜This is wrong, and I will not compromise,โ€™ the heretics swoop in with their trusty mantras. They insist that Jesus was a nice man, and that he never would have done anything to upset people. They say that He came down from Heaven to preach tolerance and acceptance, and He wouldnโ€™t have used words that might lead to hurt feelings. They confidently sermonize about a meek and mild Messiah who was born into this Earthly realm on a mission to spark a constructive dialogue. The believers in Nice Jesus are usually ignorant of Scripture, but they do know that he was โ€˜friends with prostitutes,โ€™ and once said something about how, like, we shouldnโ€™t get too ticked off about stuff, or whatever. In their minds, heโ€™s essentially a supernatural Cheech Marin.

 

Read the comments under my previous post about gay rights militants, and youโ€™ll see this heresy illustrated. That post prompted an especially noteworthy email from someone concerned that Iโ€™m not being โ€˜Christlike,โ€™ because I โ€˜call people names.โ€™ He said, in part: โ€œYou arenโ€™t spreading Christianity when you talk like that. The whole message of Jesus was that we should be nice to people because we want them to be nice to us. Thatโ€™s how we can all be happy. Period. Itโ€™s that simple.โ€ Be nice to me, Iโ€™ll be nice to you, and weโ€™ll all be happy. This is the โ€˜whole messageโ€™ of Christianity? Really? Jesus Christ preached a Truth no deeper or more complex than a slogan on a poster in a Kindergarten classroom? Really?

 

A provocative claim, to say the least. I decided to investigate the matter, and sure enough, I found this excerpt from the Sermon on the Mount: โ€œWeโ€™re best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug, and a kiss from me to you, wonโ€™t you say you love me too?โ€ Actually, wait, sorry, thatโ€™s from the original Barney theme song. God help us. Weโ€™ve turned the Son of God into a purple dinosaur puppet. Thereโ€™s no way to be certain, but most theologians believe that, despite popular perception, Christ looked nothing like this. I donโ€™t recognize this Jesus. This moderate. This pacifist. This nice guy.

 

Heโ€™s not the Jesus I read about in the Bible. I read of a strong, manly, stern and bold Savior. Compassionate, yes. Forgiving, of course. Loving, always loving. But not particularly nice.

 

He condemned. He denounced. He caused trouble. He disrupted the established order.

 

On one occasion โ€“ or at least one recorded occasion โ€“ He used violence. This Jesus saw the money changers in the temple and how did He respond? He wasnโ€™t polite about it. Iโ€™d even say He was downright intolerant. he fashioned a whip (this is what the lawyers would call โ€˜premeditationโ€™) and physically drove the merchants away. He turned over the tables and shouted. He caused a scene. [John 2:15]

 

Assault with a deadly weapon. Vandalism. Disturbing the peace. Worse still, intolerance.

 

In two words: not nice. Not nice at all. Can you imagine how some moderate, pious, โ€˜niceโ€™ Christians of today would react to that spectacle in the Temple? Can you envision the proponents of the Nice Doctrine, with their wagging fingers and their passive aggressive sighs? Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™d send Jesus a patronizing email, perhaps leave a disapproving comment under the news article about the incident, reminding Jesus that Jesus would never do what Jesus just did.

 

Personally, Iโ€™ve studied the New Testament and found not a single instance of Christ calling for a โ€˜dialogueโ€™ with evil or seeking the middle ground on an issue. I see an absolutist, unafraid of confrontation. I see a man who did not waver or give credence to the other side. I see someone who never once avoided a dispute by saying that Heโ€™ll just โ€˜agree to disagree.โ€™

 

I see a Christ who calls the Scribes and Pharisees snakes and vipers. He labels them murderers and blind guides, and ridicules them publicly [Matthew 23:33]. He undermines their authority. He insults them. He castigates them. Heโ€™s not very nice to them. Jesus rebukes and condemns. In Matthew 18, He utilizes morbid and violent imagery, saying that it would be better to drown in the sea with a stone around your neck than to harm a child. Had our modern politicians been around two thousand years ago, Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™d go on the cable news shows and shake their heads and insist thereโ€™s โ€˜no place for that kind of language.โ€™ No place for the language of God.

 

Jesus deliberately did and said things that He knew would upset people. he stirred up division and controversy. He provoked. He didnโ€™t have to break from established customs, but He did. He didnโ€™t have to heal that manโ€™s hand on the Sabbath, knowing how it would disturb others and cause them immense irritation, but He did, and He did so with โ€˜angerโ€™ [Mark 3:5]. He could have gone with the flow a little bit. He could have chilled out and let bygones be bygones, but He didnโ€™t. he would have been diplomatic, but He wasnโ€™t.

 

He could have told everyone to relax, but instead He made them uncomfortable. He could have put them at ease, but He chose to put them on edge.

 

He convinced the mob not to stone the adulterer [John 8], and youโ€™ll notice that He then turned to her and told her to stop sinning. Indeed, never once did He encounter sin and corruption and say: โ€œHey, do your thang, homies. Just have fun. YOLO!โ€ The followers of the Nice Jesus love to quote the โ€˜throw the first stoneโ€™ verse โ€“ and for good reason, itโ€™s a beautiful and compelling story โ€“ but you rarely hear mention of the exchange that occurs just a few sentences later, in that very same chapter. In John 8:44, Jesus rebukes unbelieving Jews and calls them โ€˜sons of the Devil.โ€™

 

Wow. That wasnโ€™t nice, Jesus.

 

Didnโ€™t anyone ever tell you that you can catch more flies with honey, Jesus? Of course, youโ€™d catch even more flies with a mound of garbage, so maybe โ€˜catching fliesโ€™ isnโ€™t the point. While weโ€™re often reminded that Jesus said, โ€˜live by the sword, die by the sword,โ€™ we seem to ignore his other sword references. Like when he told his disciples to sell their cloaks and buy a sword [Luke 22], or when He said that He โ€˜didnโ€™t come to bring peace, but a swordโ€™ [Matthew 10]. Now, itโ€™s true that He is God and we are not. Jesus can say whatever He wants to say. But we are called to be like Christ, which begs the question: what is Christ like? Well, He is, among other things, uncompromising. He is intolerant of evil. He is disruptive. He is sometimes harsh. He is sometimes impolite. He is sometimes angry. He is always loving. Christ was not and is not a cosmic guidance counselor, and He is not mankindโ€™s best friends, nor did He call us to be. He made dogs for that role โ€“ our destiny is more substantial, and our path to it is far more challenging and dangerous. And nice?

 

Wheredoes nice factor into this? Nice: affable, peachy, swell.

 

Nice has nothing to do with Christianity. Iโ€™ve got nothing against nice โ€“ nice is nice โ€“ but even serial killers can be nice to people. They generally are exceptionally affable, except when theyโ€™re murdering. That means theyโ€™re nice to, like, 97 or 98 percent of everyone they meet. I guess theyโ€™re following Christ almost all of the time, right? And tolerance? Tolerance is easy. Any coward can learn to tolerate something. Tolerance is inaction; intolerance is action. We are called to refuse to tolerate evil. We are called to get angry at it and actively work to destroy it. Whoโ€™d have guess it โ€“ anger is far more godly than tolerance ever could be.

 

Obviously Iโ€™m not suggesting that anger is automatically, or even usually, justified. Christ exhibited righteous anger; righteous anger is the sort of anger that naturally fills our souls when we confront the depths of depravity and sin. It is wrong to seethe with rage because someone cut us off in traffic or gossips about us behind our back. but it is also wrong to feel no anger when babies are murdered and the institution of the family is undermined and attacked. Anger is good when it is directed at things that offend not us, but God. Just as Christโ€™s intolerance, like the intolerance weโ€™re commanded to have, stems from a desire to save souls and defend Truth.

 

Even when we have righteous anger, we do not have carte blanche to act on it in anyway we please. But, according to the Bible, there are times to use strong language, there are times to cause a scene, there are times to hurt peopleโ€™s feelings, and there are times when we might need to use physical force. Jesus told us to turn the other cheek when we are personally attacked; He never told us to turn our backs entirely and let lies spread and evil grow.

 

So, enough with the niceties.

 

Christians in this country sound too similar to the Golden Girls song, and not enough like the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Thereโ€™s too much โ€˜thank you for being a friend,โ€™ and not enough โ€˜lightening from His terrible swift sword.โ€™ Weโ€™re all hugging and singing Kumbaya, when we should be marching and shouting Hallelujah. Weโ€™re nice Christians with our nice Jesus, and we are trampled on without protest.

 

Enough, already.

 

I think itโ€™s time that Christianity regain its fighting spirit; the spirit of Christ. I think itโ€™s time we ask that question: โ€˜What would Jesus do?โ€™ And I think itโ€™s time we answer it truthfully: Jesus would flip tables and yell. Maybe we ought to follow suit.

Award-winning teacher at Manhattan charter school is accused of grooming and sexually abusing a student for years starting when she was in fourth grade

 

A celebrated teacher at a Manhattan charter school has been arrested for allegedly grooming and sexually assaulting a fourth grade student for several years.

 

Cesar Sanchez, a 39-year-old science and basketball teacher at KIPP Washington Heights, began making sexually suggestive comments when the girl was in fourth grade.

 

The girl, now aged 14, said he then progressed to groping her in middle school.

 

A second girl also accused Sanchez of behaving inappropriately, and blurring student-teacher lines like asking to be friends on Instagram.

 

In 2018, he was awarded the 'Blackboard Award' by the New York Family newsletter, and in his acceptance speech thanked parents for trusting him with their children.

 

He paid tribute to 'the amazing families who trust me with their kids every single day.'

 

A criminal complaint was filed in Manhattan Criminal Court against Sanchez, a father of two whose wife is a principal at another KIPP school.

 

The alleged abuse stopped temporarily when classes went remote in March 2020, but in February 2021 Sanchez touched the girl's breast and pushed his crotch against her, according to the complaint.

 

Sanchez was arraigned on December 23 and a judge set bail at $7,500.

 

He was charged with sexual conduct against a child and endangering child welfare and is due back in court next month.

 

Parents were informed on Thursday that Sanchez had been fired, as well as the principal Danny Swersky, for his handling of the case.

 

Swersky was terminated soon after Sanchez's arrest for failing 'to follow KIPP NYC's procedures or meet KIPP NYC's expectations in how he handled this matter,' said superintendent Jim Manly in an email sent to parents on Thursday morning, obtained by The New York Daily News.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) โ€” Democrats in the California Legislature have revived a plan for what could be the nation's first universal health care system.

 

Democratic state Assemblyman Ash Kalra introduced a universal health care bill last year.

 

But the bill stalled because there was no plan to pay for it. Kalra on Thursday unveiled a second bill that would raise taxes on some businesses and individuals to pay for it.

 

Democratic leaders then scheduled a hearing on Kalra's first bill for next week.

 

A coalition of doctors and hospitals oppose the bill because they say it would cost too much and restrict choice. Kalra says health care is already too expensive.

Following Free Beacon Story, DHS Reveals Report on Illegal Immigrant Population - Biden admin failed to produce report on visa overstays in 2021

 

President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security quietly released a long-awaited report on Tuesday evening detailing large segments of the illegal immigrant population that it had been keeping from the public, but backdated the report to make it look as if the agency had posted it online when it was expected last year.

 

The agency posted its 2020 Entry/Exit Overstay Report, which provides an exact accounting of foreign travelers with expired visas who are no longer legally allowed to be in the United States. The release comes two months after the Washington Free Beacon reported in November on the administration's failure to post the report, which the executive branch is legally required to produce annually to Congress and has in the past been promptly shared with the public. While the administration had released the report to select members of Congress, it had yet to be released to the publicโ€”a major departure from prior transparency standards.

 

Though the report wasn't released until Jan. 4, 2022, the DHS website backdated the release date on its website to show it was posted on Sept. 30, 2021, the date the report was submitted to Congress. In previous years, the release date on DHS's website reflects when the report was posted publicly and not when the report was first given to Congress.

 

DHS did not respond to a request for comment on the decision to backdate the report.

 

The failure to publicly release the report elicited anger from Republicans on Capitol Hill, who voiced concerns that the administration was withholding the report during negotiations over the White House spending proposals to hide the number of migrants who could receive amnesty under the president's Build Back Better plan. Sens. Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) and James Lankford (R., Okla.) in December sent a letter to DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas demanding its public release.

 

"We are concerned that DHS did not publish the FY 2020 Entry/Exit Overstay Report on a public website out of concerns that this report would complicate the conversation around the โ€˜Plan C' amnesty proposals in the Democratsโ€™ partisan reconciliation package," Hawley and Lankford wrote. "Plan C" amnesty refers to the third attempt by Democratic lawmakers to get the Senate parliamentarian to allow the inclusion of immigration reform in their budget reconciliation bill.

 

The now-public 2020 report documents the "highest โ€˜suspected in country overstay rate' of all the public reports out there," one immigration expert who viewed the report told the Free Beacon. According to the data provided by DHS, 584,885 foreign nationals overstayed their visa, compared with 497,272 in 2019.

 

That record-breaking overstay rate is due to "the COVID-19 outbreak," Mayorkas says in the report, calling it "an anomaly when compared with the prevailing trend" of declining overstays over the years. He wrote that DHS "will continue to publicly release this report, at a minimum, on an annual basis," ignoring the fact that no report was published publicly last year.

 

Those identified as potential visa overstays in the report are not necessarily targeted for removal by immigration authorities. Congress mandated that the report be released annually to the public due to the belief that "the large number of annual in-country alien overstays threatens national security and the integrity of legal immigration."

 

Trump targeted visa overstay rates in an April 2019 executive order that directed DHS to "engage with the governments of countries with [high] total overstay [rates]."

 

The 2021 fiscal year saw more recorded illegal border crossings than at any time in U.S. history. November saw an increase in border crossings after a three-month downward trend.

 

Biden's handling of the visa overstay report is part of a broader culture of secrecy from the White House on the topic of immigration. The Free Beacon reported on Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement has yet to release its annual report detailing the number of illegal immigrants removed from the United States in 2021.

she was in incare for rehab from surgery. They admitted a covid positive patient to the rehab and locked the facility down for ten days hours later.

According to Ennadha, it would not be an arrest but a real kidnapping, carried out by security agents in civilian clothes. According to what emerged, during the kidnapping, Bhiriโ€™s wife, lawyer Saida al Akrimi, was allegedly attacked while opposing her husbandโ€™s kidnapping. White House officials are reportedly preparing to ask Congress for tens of billions of dollars in additional COVID-19 aid.

 

The funding plan hasnโ€™t been finalized but is likely to focus on COVID therapeutics โ€” such as an antiviral pill โ€” and ramping up vaccine distribution, sources told the Washington Post on Friday.

 

Money to help with the global vaccine effort is also expected to be included in the plan, the sources added.

 

Officials in the White Houseโ€™s Office of Management and Budget and the Department of Health and Human Services are working on the longer-term spending package. The formal request is expected to be made in the coming weeks.

Deputies arrest Florida man who allegedly broke into home, sexually assaulted a teen girl in her bedroom

 

MARION COUNTY, Fla. โ€“ Deputies with the Marion County Sheriffโ€™s Office arrested a 19-year-old man who allegedly kicked in the door of a home and assaulted a girl on Wednesday.

 

The Sheriffโ€™s Office reported: On January 5, 2022, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Marion County Sheriffโ€™s Office (MCSO) received a report of a suspicious incident at a home near Belleview. Deputy Michael Lowder responded to the home and, upon his arrival, he came into contact with the victim and also observed Tylor Moreno running away from the home toward the woods. The victim told Deputy Lowder that Moreno, with whom she was acquainted, forced his way into her home and then into her bedroom where he sexually battered her against her will. The victim also told investigators that during the attack, Moreno took her cellphone away so that she could not call for help.

 

MCSO Deputies, with the assistance of the Sheriffโ€™s Aviation Unit and K-9 unit, conducted a search of the area. Moreno was located by members of the Aviation Unit who relayed his position to deputies on the ground who took Moreno into custody.

 

Moreno was transported to Central Operations for an interview with Inspector Dice. During the interview, Moreno admitted to going to the victimโ€™s residence and kicking in the doors to gain entry. He admitted to taking the victimโ€™s phone away to prevent her from contacting law enforcement. Moreno also admitted that he committed sexual battery upon the victim against her will.

 

Moreno was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he is held without bond. He is charged with: Sexual Battery on a Victim 12 Years of Age or Older but Less than 18 Years of Age, Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, and Tampering with a Victim

Propaganda is most impactful when people donโ€™t think itโ€™s propaganda, and most decisive when itโ€™s censorship you never knew happened. When we imagine that the U.S. military only occasionally and slightly influences US movies, we are extremely badly deceived. The actual impact is on thousands of movies made, and thousands of others never made. And television shows of every variety. The military guests and celebrations of the US military on game shows and cooking shows are no more spontaneous or civilian in origin than the ceremonies glorifying members of the US military at professional sports games โ€” ceremonies that have been paid for and choreographed by US tax dollars and the US military. The โ€œentertainmentโ€ content carefully shaped by the โ€œentertainmentโ€ offices of the Pentagon and the CIA doesnโ€™t just insidiously prepare people to react differently to news about war and peace in the world. To a huge extent it substitutes a different reality for people who learn very little actual news about the world at all.

 

The US military knows that few people watch boring and non-credible news programs, much less read boring and non-credible newspapers, but that great masses will eagerly watch long movies and TV shows without too much worrying about whether anything makes sense. We know that the Pentagon knows this, and what military officials scheme and plot as a result of knowing this, because of the work of relentless researchers making use of the Freedom of Information Act. These researchers have obtained many thousands of pages of memos, notes, and script re-writes. I donโ€™t know whether theyโ€™ve put all of these documents online โ€” I certainly hope they do and that they make the link widely available. I wish such a link were in giant font at the end of a fantastic new film. The film is called Theaters of War: How the Pentagon and CIA Took Hollywood. The Director, Editor, and Narrator is Roger Stahl. The Co-Producers are Matthew Alford, Tom Secker, Sebastian Kaempf. Theyโ€™ve provided an important public service.

 

In the film we see copies of and hear quotations from and analysis of much of what has been uncovered, and learn that thousands of pages exist that nobody has yet seen because the military has refused to produce them. Film producers sign contracts with the US military or CIA. They agree to โ€œweave in key talking points.โ€ While unknown quantities of this sort of thing remain unknown, we do know that nearly 3,000 films and many thousands of TV episodes have been given the Pentagon treatment, and many others have been handled by the CIA. In many film productions, the military effectively becomes a co-producer with veto power, in exchange for allowing the use of military bases, weapons, experts, and troops. The alternative is the denial of those things.

 

But the military is not as passive as this might suggest. It actively pitches new story ideas to movie and TV producers. It seeks out new ideas and new collaborators who might bring them to a theater or laptop near you. Act of Valor actually began life as a recruitment advertisement.
