The National Rifle Association compiled a list of its enemies and it reads like a Jewish whoโ€™s who list. Gene-Edited Beef Cattle Resistant To Heat Stress Approved By FDA

 

Beef from cattle that's been gene-edited to better withstand heat stress could soon be making its way onto dinner plates in the US.

 

The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced it has made a โ€œlow-risk determinationโ€ for the marketing of food products made from the gene-tweaked beef cattle after their review found that the genomic alteration didnโ€™t cause any safety concerns. This means the FDA doesnโ€™t need the developer of the gene-edited cattle to earn further approval before bringing the beef to market, and it could be available to consumers in around two years.

 

In recent years, the FDA has given the thumbs up to five applications for five gene-edited animals: chicken, goats, salmon, rabbit, and pigs. However, this latest approval is a first for the FDA, because the genomic alteration can be passed onto offspring, allowing the trait to be shared through conventional breeding.

 

The modified cattle are products of the company Acceligen, a subsidiary of the US-based bio-engineering company Recombinetics. Their Angus cattle, called PRLR-SLICK, were genetically edited using CRISPR to grow short and slick hair, reducing their vulnerability to hot weather. This heritable gene for this extra-cool hair is the result of a naturally-occurring mutation that can occur in some conventionally bred cattle.

 

According to the FDA, studies have shown how the slick-hair coat helps cattle to fare better against temperature-related stress and may result in improved food production. Heat-stressed cattle is also a problem thatโ€™s expected to become even more prevalent as the climate crisis continues to deepen, with heatwaves set to become longer, more common, and more aggressive in many parts of the world.

 

More gene-tweaked meat could be on its way too โ€“ the FDA hopes this latest approval will encourage other biotech companies to develop gene-edited animals for their approval.

 

โ€œTodayโ€™s decision underscores our commitment to using a risk and science-based, data-driven process that focuses on safety to the animals containing intentional genomic alterations and safety to the people who eat the food produced by these animals,โ€ Steven M. Solomon, director of the FDAโ€™s Center for Veterinary Medicine, said in a statement.

 

โ€œWe expect that our decision will encourage other developers to bring animal biotechnology products forward for the FDAโ€™s risk determination in this rapidly developing field, paving the way for animals containing low-risk IGAs to more efficiently reach the marketplace,โ€ he added.

Didn't post this but watched it when it first came out. Basically he is saying the Lithuanian effort to blockade Kaliningrad is a bad idea. The Russian military has lots more experience than Polish or US army (NATO) and will loose in a real battle and likely result in a Nuke exchange. Says the Ukrainian military currently fighting Russia was/is trained by NATO and Russians are currently winning (despite all the fake news).

Since this was posted the Russians have expressed their anger about this. The Kaliningrad Mayor (?) said the goods will be shipped from elsewhere in Russia via sea Lithuania has basically said the EU are behind this but don't think they can back down as the Russians requested.

Biden Takes Aim at Americaโ€™s Largest Oil Field, Threatens to Stop Production, Sending Gas Prices Soaring

 

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is preparing to cite the United Statesโ€™ largest oil field for violating ozone pollution standards, a move that will threaten the end of oil and gas production in the region.

 

 

According to the Texas Governorโ€™s Office, the proposed regulations will directly affect the Permian Basin, the largest oil field in the United States, accounting for 95,000,000 gallons of gasoline per day or 40% of the oil produced domestically.

 

 

This would be just one more move from Bidenโ€™s administration to impact the lives of every American by reducing the fuel supply and causing gas prices to soar well beyond Bidenโ€™s record of $5 per gallon.

 

 

โ€œEven as Americans are struggling with $5 gas and record-breaking inflation, team Biden continues to double down on their political commitments to โ€˜end all fossil fuels,'โ€ former EPA Chief of Staff Mandy Gunasekara told reporters Wednesday.

 

 

According to a report by Bloomberg, regulators would have three years to propose solutions to the violations. However, ongoing regulatory uncertainty common to Bidenโ€™s ever-increasing climate change initiatives is likely to disincentivize new permits and drilling in the oil field.

 

 

Texas Governor Greg Abbott reacted strongly to the proposal and called the EPA to drop the proposal.

 

 

According to a letter he sent to the administration Monday, Abbott pointed out the direct impact on the lives of Americans. Abbott pledged that if he did not hear back from the administration by June 29, he would take action to โ€œprotect the production of oilโ€”and the gasoline that comes from it.โ€

 

 

Abbott called out the hypocrisy of the Biden White House, which has claimed empathy for Americans struggling to afford gas. He said that the EPAโ€™s move would only make things worse for the nation.

Late last week we warned that according to real-time indicators, such as soaring mortgage rates and collapsing demand, a housing market crash appeared inevitable. Today we got the clearest sign that the banks agree when out of the blue - or rather out of the "hurricane" - JPMorgan announced it was cutting over a thousand home-lending employees and reassigning hundreds more after soaring interest rates dried up mortgage demand.

 

Jamie Dimon pulled off his best Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg impression when the bank decided that more than 1,000 workers will be affected by the slowdown in housing, with roughly half fired and the other half moved to other (less paying) divisions within the bank, Bloomberg reports.

 

"Our staffing decision this week was a result of cyclical changes in the mortgage market," a JPM spokesperson said while probably eyeing the record move in the 30Y mortgage which has doubled from just over 3% at the start of the year to a stunning 6.13%, a move which has unleashed an affordability crisis.

A PolitiFact โ€œfact checkerโ€ who has attempting to discredit National Pulse reporting on mask mandates and recent medical journal papers has almost zero experience in real news reporting, medical reporting, COVID-19 reporting, or even national news, The National Pulse can reveal.

 

The information is the latest in a slew of โ€œfact checkerโ€ stories which reveal dubiously credentialed individuals working to remove anti-Big Pharma content from the internet at the behest of big tech companies and their sponsors in the pharmaceutical industry.

 

Floridian liberal Gabrielle Settles appears to have begun working for Politifact in March 2021, bylining at least 70 stories for the corporate-backed censor.

 

Settles, however, has no experience in dealing with any of this kind of information, having performed the majority of her โ€œfact checksโ€ simply by copying and pasting from the Centers for Disease Control website, and even veering off into โ€œfact checkingโ€ pictures of Christmas cards and photos of singer Rihanna.

 

Prior to Politifact, Settles worked at a small, St. Petersburg outfit called โ€œThe Weekly Challengerโ€, and prior to that, as an โ€œOffice Administratorโ€ at โ€œMoody Radioโ€ and a โ€œcontributing writerโ€ at a blog called โ€œThe Power Broker Magazine.โ€ The sites receive almost zero web traffic.

 

In fact, Settlesโ€™s journalistic contributions are extremely limited. But naturally, her contributions to partisan rhetoric are not.

 

The Politifact โ€œreporterโ€ โ€“ a job which includes no actual reporting โ€“ has a history of pro-Democrat and anti-Trump tweets. Naturally, she took umbrage with The National Pulseโ€™s story on masks and deaths, derived from two separate stories of May 16th and May 26th.

 

In the first, Natalie Winters reveals how Beny Spira, Associate Professor at the University of Sรฃo Paulo, published an April 19th 2022 study โ€œanalyz[ing] the correlation between mask usage against morbidity and mortality rates in the 2020-2021 winter in Europe.โ€

 

The data came from 35 European countries, and concluded:

 

โ€œThe findings presented in this short communication suggest that countries with high levels of mask compliance did not perform better than those with low mask usage in the six-month period that encompassed the second European wave of COVID-19โ€ฆโ€

 

The study also found:

 

โ€œMoreover, the moderate positive correlation between mask usage and deaths in Western Europe also suggests that the universal use of masks may have had harmful unintended consequencesโ€ฆโ€

 

But Settles found this particular science to be โ€œFalseโ€ and as a result, the National Pulse story is now being censored on social media. Settlesโ€™s source appears to be a singular professor from the corporate-backed Milken Institute for Public Health at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Her name is Emily Smith.

 

But Smith didnโ€™t even tell Settles that Spiraโ€™s study was incorrect. She is quoted as saying:

 

โ€œI think we can just use common sense to say that when cases are rising, people are more likely to do protective thingsโ€ฆ Youโ€™re more likely to wear a mask when you go out and your city or your country might also have made recommendations or requirements to do those things.โ€

 

In other words, Smith is claiming that the mask usage and deaths is an inverse correlation, though she offers no evidence, nor science, nor refutation of the science offered. Instead, Smith suggests using โ€œcommon senseโ€ โ€“ a phrase oft-derided when used by anti-authoritarian activists at the beginning of the pandemic.

 

Smith, for what it is worth, is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as revealed on her university biography.

In one email, we find that the Democracy Fundโ€”a hyper-funded progressive money sourceโ€”is organizing state officials and third parties to discuss election administration.

 

Participants in this Democracy Fund effort include:

 

  1. Commissioner Ben Hovland on the United States Election Assistance Commission

  2. United States Election Assistance Commission employee Tina Barton

  3. Ebony West, a Democracy Fund employee tasked with โ€œVoter-Centric Election Adminstration [sic], which focuses on equipping local election officials with the data, tools, and connections needed to ensure votersโ€™ voices are heard.โ€

  4. John Keller, a criminal prosecutor at the United States Department of Justice Public Integrity Section who has gone after Republicans like Maricopa County Sherriff Joe Arpaio

  5. Matt Masterson, a former staffer for John Boehner and now โ€œDirector of Information Integrityโ€ at Microsoft and leading their โ€œDemocracy Forwardโ€ team

  6. Katherine Reisner a militant progressive working for the vote-fraud denier organization States United Democracy Center.

  7. Craig Latimer, the Hillsborough Florida Supervisor of Elections who told us that his office refuses to make any election crimes referrals to county prosecutors

  8. Kammi Foote, sometime wilderness photographer and United States Election Assistance Commission employee

  9. Andrea Abbate of the ZuckBucks Mother Ship, the Center for Technology and Civic Life

  13. Liz Howard, from another vote-fraud denier outfit, the progressive Brennan Center.

 

No conservative or right-of-center groups are invited.

 

This progressive courting of election officials evidenced in this email isnโ€™t a one-off. Iโ€™ll have other products of our FOIA sweep that show a wide-ranging progressive push to establish working relationships between law enforcement, progressive philanthropy, election officials, corporations, progressive activists, and, ultimately, the people who run our elections.

 

Since Trumpโ€™s 2016 victory, this fluid consortium has built structures that match powerful fundingโ€”with fringe ideological activists, with government officesโ€”in an effort to create a narrative that nothing was ever wrong with American elections. These structures also reorient the administration of elections in ways that benefit progressives, such as wide use of automatic mail voting.

 

Extraordinary efforts were made in 2020 to claim mail voting was problem-free despite the evidence and despite elections in New Jersey being overturned because of mail ballot fraud.

The parents of the alleged victim claim Miller began grooming their daughter at age 12, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. However, the alleged victim declared that her "comrade Ezra Miller" has "only provided loving support and invaluable protection."

 

Attorney and activist Chase Iron Eyes and his pediatrician wife Sara Jumping Eagle filed court documents against Miller. They accused the 29-year-old Hollywood actor of "psychologically manipulating, physically intimidating, and endangering the safety and welfare" of their now-18-year-old daughter. In the documents filed in Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court, the parents also alleged Miller of being "physically and emotionally abusing" to their daughter โ€“ Tokata Iron Eyes.

 

The parents say that Miller met Tokata during the 2016 Standing Rock Reservation protests in North Dakota โ€“ where environmentalists railed against the Dakota Access Pipeline. At the time, she was 12 and Miller was 23.

 

"Miller came to the Standing Rock Reservation in 2016 and established contact with Tokata Iron Eyes under the pretense of assisting the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe during the NoDAPL movement," the court documents read, according to Entertainment Weekly.

 

"Ezra Miller took an immediate and apparently innocent liking to Tokata Iron Eyes and began to formulate relations with Tokata; Ezra flew Tokata Iron Eyes and other Standing Rock tribal members to London, United Kingdom (to tour the "Harry Potter - Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them" studio in which Ezra Miller played a significant character) in December 2017 where Miller attempted to sleep in the same bed as Tokata Iron Eyes who was 14 years old at that time," the documents allege.

 

The court filing claims Miller was "prevented from sleeping in the same bed with Tokata at that time by a chaperone."

 

The parents claimed that the "Flash" star exhibited a "pattern of corrupting a minor" by supplying Tokata alcohol and drugs like marijuana and LSD as a teen.

 

The legal filing claimed that the "Fantastic Beasts" actor offered to pay for Tokata to attend Bard College at Simon's Rock in Massachusetts at the age of 16. The parents claimed Miller "would later use this against Tokata to create a sense of indebtedness."

 

The parents alleged that Tokata dropped out of Bard College in December, then traveled to Miller's Vermont home in January.

 

The court docs stated that Tokata returned home and spent three weeks "detoxifying." Tokata then traveled with Miller to New York City, Los Angeles, and Hawaii.

 

The parents say that Tokata doesn't have a driver's license, bank cards, or keys โ€“ which they believe is preventing their daughter from acting on her own accord.

 

The complaint stated that Miller displays "cult-like and psychologically manipulative, controlling behavior," according to People magazine. The parents said Miller "uses violence, intimidation, threat of violence, fear, paranoia, delusions and drugs to hold sway over a young adolescent Tokata."

The Empire State officially has new laws on the books aimed at curbing access to weapons that have been used in recent mass killings in Buffalo and Texas.

The gunman made a violent threat at his former high school but was nonetheless allowed to buy a semi-automatic weapon after turning 18 despite the stateโ€™s red flag law, which was tweaked by newly signed legislation.

 

A threat of mass harm is now a crime punishable by up to a year in jail under another bill signed by Hochul on Monday.

 

Other new rules on the books are aimed at preventing gun crimes more associated with gang violence that have occurred at a faster clip in recent years within the five boroughs.

 

Microstamping technology enabled by a new law could make it easier for law enforcement to track future crimes through identifying marks that would match a firearm with an expended cartridge left at a crime scene.

 

State and local agencies will have to increase reporting on gun seizures to help battle the so-called Iron Pipeline bringing firearms into New York from states with looser gun laws like Georgia.

 

Other measures closed past loopholes on the possession of high-capacity ammunition magazines and guns that evade existing restrictions through the use of arm braces rather than standard rifle stocks.

 

Democrats have called on the federal government to take additional action on gun control, such as reviving a ban on assault weapons that expired nearly two decades ago.

Two new British mercenaries charged in DPR

 

Dylan Healy, 22, and Andrew Hill, 35, both UK nationals, were captured by DPR forces during fighting in April.

 

British broadcaster Sky News described Hill as a "military volunteer". Hill was charged today by DPR forces alongside Healy for acting as mercenaries for Ukraine's armed forces.

 

Russia's TASS news agency reported that both men have refused to cooperate and are currently imprisoned in the DPR.

 

"Criminal cases have been initiated and charges were presented for (mercenarism) against British citizens Dylan Healy and Andrew Hill, currently in detention in DPR. Investigation operations are under way as the investigators look for evidence of the crimes, committed by the British, because they do not want to testify and refuse to cooperate on their criminal cases," a DPR source informed TASS.

 

Britain's Foreign Office released a statement on Saturday condemning "the exploitation of prisoners of war and civilians for political purposes."

 

"We are in constant contact with the government of Ukraine on their cases and are fully supportive of Ukraine in its efforts to get them released," the statement added.

 

Earlier in June, the DPR sentenced to death three mercenaries (two British and one Moroccan) after they were caught fighting alongside Ukrainian militias.

 

British mercenaries Aiden Aslin, 28, and Shaun Pinner, 48, in addition to Moroccan Saadun Brahim, were convicted by a Donetsk court on charges of terrorism.

 

According to The Guardian, an official said that the men would have one month to appeal their sentence, and if the appeal is accepted, the defendants would receive a 25-year or life sentence instead of the death penalty.

Alaska governor wants constitutional amendment on abortion

 

Alaska voters will decide in November if they want to approve a constitutional convention.

 

Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy is planning to ask the state legislature to consider a constitutional amendment on abortion.

 

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade on Friday by a vote of 6-3. Alaska does not have a trigger law that makes abortion illegal.

 

โ€œI like many Alaskans, am pro life,โ€ Dunleavy said in a news release. โ€œI also recognize that many Alaskans are pro choice. I will therefore be introducing a resolution for a proposed constitutional amendment to the Legislature in the next session to answer the question whether abortion shall, or not be a constitutionally protected right.โ€

Appeals court reinstates civil rights lawsuits of dozens of bikers arrested in 2015 Twin Peaks shootout

 

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has reinstated the lawsuits โ€“ at least temporarily โ€“ of about 90 bikers arrested in the 2015 Twin Peaks shootout whose civil rights cases were thrown out last year by U.S. District Judge Alan Albright.

 

A three-judge panel of the federal appeals court reversed Albrightโ€™s previous ruling that a grand juryโ€™s indictment of the 90 bikers โ€œserved to break the chain of causationโ€ for their false arrest claims and sent the cases back to Albright for further consideration in light of the courtโ€™s ruling.

 

The panelโ€™s complex, 17-page opinion puts the civil rights cases of about 90 bikers back in play and instructs Albright to determine if each defendant has alleged adequate claims that they were falsely arrested after the melee that left nine dead and 20 injured.

 

By dismissing the suits of the indicted bikers, Albright did so through โ€œa legal erroneous applicationโ€ of the independent intermediary doctrine, the panel ruled. The doctrine, as interpreted by the 5th Circuit, states that even if an officer makes a false arrest and violates the detaineeโ€™s Fourth Amendment rights, the officer will not be liable if the facts supporting the arrest are put before an impartial intermediary, such as a magistrate or a grand jury, and the intermediary finds probable cause.

 

โ€œBecause the district court concluded that the independent intermediary doctrine applied, it did not discuss the merits of the plaintiffsโ€™ false arrest claims,โ€ the opinion states. โ€œBut the nature of the plaintiffsโ€™ false arrest claims is relevant to our inquiry here because they argue, in essence, that the independent intermediary doctrine should not apply to the grand juryโ€™s indictment because the grand jury was misled in the very same way as the magistrate who issued the arrest warrants.โ€

SAN ANTONIO (AP) โ€” Forty-eight people died after being abandoned in a tractor-trailer in the sweltering Texas heat, one of the worst tragedies to claim the lives of migrants smuggled across the border from Mexico to the U.S. Sixteen people were hospitalized, including four children.

 

A city worker heard a cry for help from the truck on a lonely San Antonio back road shortly before 6 p.m. Monday and discovered the gruesome scene, Police Chief William McManus said. Hours later, body bags lay spread on the ground near the trailer and bodies remained inside as authorities responded to the calamity.

 

Forty-six people were found dead near the scene, authorities said, and two more people later died at a hospital, said Patti Tanner, a spokesperson at Baptist Health System in San Antonio.

 

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said those who died had โ€œfamilies who were likely trying to find a better life.โ€

 

โ€œThis is nothing short of a horrific human tragedy,โ€ Nirenberg said.

 

Itโ€™s among the deadliest of the tragedies that have claimed thousands of lives in recent decades as people attempt to cross the U.S. border from Mexico. Ten migrants died in 2017 after being trapped inside a truck parked at a Walmart in San Antonio. In 2003, the bodies of 19 migrants were found in a sweltering truck southeast of San Antonio.

A better understanding of these โ€œmini recycling plantsโ€ may lead to upscaling of the enzyme process, potentially revolutionizing how plastic is recycled.

 

Plastic waste presents a growing problem due to its detrimental effects on the natural world and human health.

Researchers in Australia conducted an experiment with โ€œsuperwormsโ€ revealing certain enzymes can break down polystyrene, the main component of styrofoam.

 

Ongoing experiments aim to explore how this process might be upscaled, but the cheap costs of new plastic production pose a hurdle.

As more countries and corporations launch campaigns to tackle plastic waste in the natural environment, researchers remain in lockstep aiming to address the problem on both a macro and micro scale.

 

Now, after conducting experiments with so-called โ€œsuperworms,โ€ a team of investigators at the University of Queensland in Australia discovered the common Zophobas morio have a unique appetite for plastic, and may even transform recycling.

 

This is thanks to a bacterial enzyme in the wormsโ€™ gut capable of digesting polystyrene and styrene.

 

Based on the findings, researchers hope to one day engineer the enzyme for large-scale production and degrade waste in recycling plants.

 

Polystyrene, a form of plastic used to create everything from styrofoam to appliances, is one of the main contributors to microplastic waste, as it does not biodegrade and merely breaks into smaller pieces (microplastics) when discarded.

 

Microplastics are a main target for environmental and conservation groups because of their detrimental effects on the natural world and human health.

Researchers discovered the wormsโ€™ capabilities after feeding them different diets of polystyrene foam or bran over the course of 3 weeks. Other worms were put on a fasting diet.

 

Those put on a diet solely consisting of polystyrene had marginal weight gains compared with the fasting worms, suggesting โ€œthe worms can derive energy from the polystyrene, most likely with the help of their gut microbes,โ€ said Dr Chris Rinke of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences at the University of Queensland in a statement.

 

Likening the worms to โ€œmini recycling plants,โ€ Dr Rinke explained how the organisms shred the polystyrene with their mouths, then feed it to their gut bacteria.

 

โ€œThe breakdown products from this reaction can then be used by other microbes to create high-value compounds such as bioplastics,โ€ he added.

 

The team is working to grow the bacteria in a lab environment to identify which enzyme is most effective at degrading polystyrene and better understand how the process can be upscaled.

Past research has explored the role of fungi and bacteria in breaking down plastic waste but innovations like these may be difficult to implement on a wide scale due to the cheap production costs of new plastic, experts warned.

A woman and a man were charged today (Thursday, 23 June) with conspiring to arrange the travel of a child into the UK in order to harvest organs.

This week produced yet another example of the shameless collaboration between the U.S. Department of Justice, the Democratic Party, and the national news media to destroy Donald Trump and everyone around him. The ink was barely dry on the not guilty verdict for Michael Sussmann, just one of many figures who acted as a pass-through between Hillary Clintonโ€™s 2016 presidential campaign and the FBI to manufacture the Russia collusion hoax, before the same players were up to their old tricks.

Members of the January 6 select committee blanketed the Sunday news programs last weekend promising bombshell revelations would shake the nation during a primetime hearing Thursday night. Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) told CBS Newsโ€™ Robert Costa the committee would present findings to show an โ€œextremely broad . . . extremely well-organizedโ€ conspiracy to overthrow the government that day. What the committee uncovered related to the alleged conspiracy, Cheney warned, is โ€œreally chilling.โ€™

 

Roughly 24 hours after Cheneyโ€™s interview aired, Matthew Graves, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia handling the January 6 criminal prosecution, announced seditious conspiracy charges against five members of the Proud Boys, the so-called militia group involved in the Capitol protest. The new indictment, handed down by a D.C. grand jury 13 months after its initial indictments in the case, made instant headlines.

 

But the 32-page indictment contained no new information aside from a few irrelevant details; much of it rehashed previous filings in the case. Nonetheless, Graves claimed the men conspired to โ€œoppose the lawful transfer of presidential power by force, by opposing the authority of the Government of the United States and by preventing, hindering, or delaying by force the execution of the laws governing the transfer of powerful,โ€ referring to the 12th Amendment to the Constitution.

 

No American has ever been convicted of โ€œseditious conspiracy.โ€ The last time the government attempted to prosecute a seditious conspiracy case 10 years ago, the presiding judge tossed it out of court. Graves has so farcharged 17 Americanswith the rare offense comparable to treason and threatening life sentences for those who refuse to accept plea deals.

 

The purpose of the one-two punch by Cheney and Graves was revealed by the New York Times on Tuesday: committee members will present to the audience proof of an alleged โ€œconspiracyโ€ between Trump and the unarmed Proud Boys to execute a coup on January 6.

 

โ€œA significant portion of the first hearing on Thursday evening will focus on the Proud Boys, a far-right group whose members have been charged with seditious conspiracy in connection with the storming of the Capitol,โ€ reporters Annie Karni and Luke Broadwater wrote. โ€œIt is scheduled to include testimony from a documentary filmmaker, Nick Quested, who was embedded with the group during the storming of the building, and a Capitol Police officer, Caroline Edwards, who was injured in an assault said to be triggered by the Proud Boys.โ€

 

A follow-up story in the Wall Street Journal elaborated on the committeeโ€™s plans. โ€œThe committee is likely to feature previously unseen footage Mr. Questedโ€™s crew filmed of the Jan. 6 attack, according to Mr. Quested. The filmmaker was recording as a Proud Boy member pushed barricades on top of Capitol Police officers, he said,โ€ Scott Patterson wrote on June 8.

This is how the Democrats look at inflation and explain the problem. Their solution is for government to buy the food at the prices they claim people cannot afford, and then sell the food at prices they claim the people can afford. Notice in the interview when Buttigieg is challenged about the high cost of gasoline, he complains that oil companies are not drilling enough to generate the oil and refinery capacity that we need. Essentially, the oil companies are to blame for not creating more supply.

Cassidy Hutchinson, a former top aide to President Donald's Trump's White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified at a House January 6 committee hearing on Tuesday. The unexpected hearing was announced on Monday, with the committee saying it would present "recently obtained evidence" from an unnamed witness who was later revealed to be Cassidy Hutchinson. But who is she?

 

Hutchinson is the committee's first live witness who was in the West Wing on Jan. 6, 2021.

 

"It's important that the American people hear that information immediately," the committee chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, said at the start of the hearing, thanking people like Hutchinson for their courage.

 

Hutchinson previously worked for House Republican Whip Rep. Steve Scalise as well as Sen. Ted Cruz, Thompson said at the hearing.

 

She attended Christopher Newport University and spoke to the school about her White House internship in 2018. "I attended numerous events hosted by the president, such as signing ceremonies, celebrations and presidential announcements, and frequently watched Marine One depart the South Lawn from my office window," she said, according to a 2018 article on the school's website, which described her as a "first-generation college student."

 

"My small contribution to the quest to maintain American prosperity and excellence is a memory I will hold as one of the honors of my life," she said

 

Hutchinson was then in her senior year at the university in Newport News, Virginia. She said she planned to head back to Washington, D.C. after graduating โ€” which she did.

 

In 2019, she began a role at the to the White House's legislative affairs office, committee vice chair Rep. Liz Cheney said during Tuesday's hearing. Hutchinson was promoted to principal aide to Trump's chief of staff Mark Meadows in March 2020 and served until the end of the Trump administration.

 

Though still young, like many White House staffers, Cheney said Hutchinson "handled a vast number of sensitive issues" and worked in the West Wing, just steps down the hall from the Oval Office. During the hearing, Hutchinson said in her testimony that she spent a lot of time on Capitol Hill and helped fulfill presidential travel engagements.

 

"Ms. Hutchinson spoke daily with members of Congress, with high ranking officials in the administration, with senior White House staff, including Mr. Meadows, with White House counsel lawyers and with Mr. Tony Ornadt, who served as the deputy chief of [operations]," Cheney said. "She also worked on a daily basis with members of the Secret Service who were posted in the White House"

 

"In short, Ms. Hutchinson was in a position to know a great deal about the happenings in the White House," Cheney continued.

 

One of the first things Hutchinson described during Tuesday's testimony was a conversation between herself and Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani. She said during the conversation on January 2 โ€” days before the Capitol attack โ€” Giuliani "said something to the effect of how we should be excited for the 6th, it will be a great day."

 

She said didn't know exactly what he was talking about, and when she asked Meadows about it later, he "said something to the effect of, 'There's a lot going on. But I don't know, things might get real, real bad on January 6th.'"

 

Hutchinson recently switched lawyers for the hearing. She had been using a former Trump White House official, but is now with Jody Hunt, who worked for the Justice Department and served as chief of staff to former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, according to The Associated Press.

 

Hunt was a key witness for special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged ties between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign.

 

Hutchinson has testified for the Jan. 6 committee several times before the public hearing on Tuesday. She testified that Anthony Ornato, a senior Secret Service official who was detailed to the White House and served as deputy chief of operations, brought Meadows intelligence reports that "indicated that there could be violence on the 6th," but she was not sure what he did with the information internally.

 

In another interview, she testified about White House meetings with several Republican members of Congress, at which a plan to have alternate electors meet and cast votes for Trump in states he lost was discussed, and that the White House counsel's office said such a plan was not legally sound.

Suicidality Among Transgender Youth: Elucidating the Role of Interpersonal Risk Factors

 

Abstract

Data indicate that 82% of transgender individuals have considered killing themselves and 40% have attempted suicide, with suicidality highest among transgender youth.Using minority stress theory and the interpersonal theory of suicide, this study aims to better understand suicide risk among transgender youth. The present study examines the influence of intervenable risk factors: interpersonal and environmental microaggressions, internalized self-stigma, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and protective factors: school belonging, family support, and peer support on both lifetime suicide attempts and past 6-month suicidality in a sample of transgender youth (n = 372). SPSS 22 was utilized to examine the impact of the independent variables on both suicidality and lifetime suicide attempt through two separate logistic regressions. Fifty six percent of youth reported a previous suicide attempt and 86% reported suicidality. Logistic regressions indicated that models for both lifetime suicide attempts and suicidality were significant. Interpersonal microaggressions, made a unique, statistically significant contribution to lifetime suicide attempts and emotional neglect by family approached significance. School belonging, emotional neglect by family, and internalized self-stigma made a unique, statistically significant contribution to past 6-month suicidality. Results have significant practice and policy implications. Findings offer guidance for practitioners working with parents and caregivers of trans youth, as well as, for the creation of practices which foster interpersonal belonging for transgender youth.

Canadian gold miners have found the remains of a rare mummified baby woolly mammoth that froze over 30,000 years ago in the Klondike gold fields.

 

According to a news release from the Yukon government and Tr'ondek Hwech'in First Nation, miners were working on the Eureka Creek when they made the discovery.

 

The mammoth calf, which is the most complete mummified mammoth found in North America, has been named Nun cho ga by the Trสผondรซk Hwรซchสผin Elders.

 

Nun cho ga, which means "big baby animal" in the Hรคn language, likely roamed the Yukon with wild horses, cave lions, and giant steppe bison.

 

After the discovery, Minister of Tourism and Culture Ranj Pillai said The Yukon has always been an internationally renowned leader for ice age and Beringia research. We are thrilled about this significant discovery of a mummified woolly mammoth calf: Nun cho ga.

 

Without strong partnerships between placer miners, Trสผondรซk Hwรซchสผin, and the Yukon government, discoveries like this could not happen, Pillai added.

 

This is as a remarkable recovery for our First Nation, and we look forward to collaborating with the Yukon government on the next steps in the process for moving forward with these remains in a way that honours our traditions, culture, and laws, said Tr'ondรซk Hwรซch'in Chief Roberta Joseph.

The lack of election fraud also leaves unanswered the many other ways the 2020 election was rigged, from the corrupt mediaโ€™s burying of the evidence of the Biden familyโ€™s pay-to-play scandal discovered on Hunterโ€™s laptop, to the flooding of Democrat-heavy voting precincts with millions of get-out-the-vote ZuckBucks.

 

Silencing Complaints About Election Irregularities

 

A related goal of the Jan. 6 Committee is to silence conservative complaints about election irregularities. The committeeโ€™s strategy to achieve this objective focuses first on convincing the country that the violence that day was caused by false claims of fraud and, therefore, those who alleged fraud bore responsibility for the attack on the capitol. As the committee had already framed all attempts to legally challenge the election as pushing disproven accusations of fraud and cast the riot at the capitol as an insurrection, under the committeeโ€™s logic, any American criticizing the 2020 election is complicit in the supposed attack on our democracy.

 

Even before the House formed the sham Jan. 6 Committee, Americans who merely attended the rally found themselves fired from their jobs. Since then, the committee and the corrupt media have teamed to create a guilt-by-association mentality throughout the country, with both politicians and the John and Jane Q. Public protest attendees cast as co-conspirators in a violent insurrection.

 

But the committee seeks to spread the blame for the supposed insurrection far beyond the speakers and protestors, presenting state representatives and officials investigating election irregularities, attorneys advising Trump, and lawyers litigating election violations as equally culpable for fomenting an insurrection. Now, with the committee apparently angling to concoct some sort of criminal conspiracy, the message to conservatives is clear: stay silent or risk your livelihood and your liberty.

 

The zone of silence the committee and the complicit media push for is all-encompassing, from ordinary Americans to a U.S. Supreme Court justice. The show trial seeks to shame conservative voters from speaking out about election irregularities witnessed at the polls, commenting on social media about questionable election results, peacefully protesting, or even voting for candidates who challenge election results.

 

In short, the committee has made clear that โ€œanyone who complains about the disastrous American electoral system on display during the last presidential election [will be branded] a conspiracy theorist seeking the violent overthrow of the government.โ€ That promise provides a pretty good incentive for citizens to stay silent.

 

Relatedly, the committee hopes to keep conservative candidates from challenging elections, either their own or those of other Republicans, and to scare attorneys away from such clients. The targeting of Justice Clarence Thomas serves as a warning to other judges and justices not to take conservative complaints seriously, or else a family member may find herself under investigation.

 

Also targets of the Jan. 6 Committeeโ€™s campaign of shame are state legislatures, which are charged with establishing rules and regulations for elections. By framing all complaints about the November 2020 election as concerning non-existent voter fraud, the committee seeks to paint the state legislative bodiesโ€™ election integrity measures as racist. After all, since there was no fraud, as the committeeโ€™s theme goes, the state lawmakers must be seeking to disenfranchise minority voters.

 

Make no mistake about it: the shame and silencing will only go one wayโ€”to squelch conservatives. That Hillary Clinton could simultaneously brand โ€œDonald Trump, his allies, and supportersโ€ โ€œa clear and present danger to American democracyโ€ and question the legitimacy of Trumpโ€™s 2016 victory establishes that Democrats will retain the right to question elections, while a Republican challenge to an election represents treason.

 

The vitriol leveled at the originalist Supreme Court justices following the leak of the Dobbs opinion, when coupled with the protests outside of Justice Brett Kavanaughโ€™s home and the later arrest of a man who plotted to kill him, confirms the double-standard in play. Rhetoric on the right holds responsibility for prompting an armed revolt, but the equally charged condemnation of Supreme Court justices merely represents the expression of strongly held views, even when a member of the public responds by plotting the assassination of one of the justicesโ€ฆ.
