On Friday, the House of Representatives signed the massive $1.7 trillion government omnibus bill, rife with pork for environmentalist causes, and sent it to Joe Biden to sign just as he hopped on a plane to fly down to the Caribbean Island of St. Croix, causing the US government to fly the bill down to the president via another carbon-emitting private plane, so that Biden can sign the document before the December 30th deadline.

 

Fox News White House Correspondent Edward Lawrence reported, "A White House Official tells me the Omnibus Bill is in possession of the White House. It has to be signed by Dec 30th. Oh, did I mention that prairie dogs often carry and transmit the bubonic plague, too?

 

That means landowners with prairie dog infestations are often more than happy to let varmint hunters assist in controlling populations. And I’m here to tell you: prairie dog hunting might be the most fun I’ve ever had shooting. A big prairie dog can reach the size of a football, and with the right varmint bullet, you can get some real fireworks popping these little buggers. In a β€œvirgin” prairie dog town full of uneducated pests, you can shoot for hours and burn up lots of ammunition.

 

In my experience, there are basically two methods to hunt prairie dogs . . .

 

Technique 1: Set up a couple of shooting tables, pull out your favorite long-range varmint rifle, sit in one spot for a couple hours and see who can make the longest distance kill…

At the right, some 400 light-years distant is the open star cluster cataloged as Messier 45, also known as the Pleiades or Seven Sisters. In Greek myth, the Pleiades were daughters of the astronomical titan Atlas and sea-nymph Pleione.

Andrew Tate detained in Romania over rape and human trafficking case

Controversial online influencer Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation.

 

Mr Tate - who was detained alongside his brother Tristan - had his house raided in the capital, Bucharest.

 

A police spokesperson confirmed the arrests to the BBC.

 

The former kickboxer rose to fame in 2016 when he was removed from British TV show Big Brother over a video which appeared to show him attacking a woman.

 

He went on to gain notoriety online, with Twitter banning him for saying women should "bear responsibility" for being sexually assaulted. He has since been reinstated.

 

Despite social media bans he gained popularity, particularly among young men, by promoting an ultra-masculine, ultra-luxurious lifestyle, appearing in videos with his fleet of expensive sports cars, private jets and on expensive holidays.

Speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) said prosecutors had applied to hold the influencer at a "detention centre" for an additional 30 days. A judge will rule on the application on Friday afternoon, they added.

 

"The four suspects… appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost," DIICOT said in a statement.

 

The brothers have been under investigation since April alongside two Romanian nationals.

 

A spokesperson for Mr Tate told the Daily Mirror that he could not provide details relating to the arrest. "However, Andrew and Tristan Tate have the utmost respect for the Romanian authorities and will always assist and help in any way they can," he added.

Video circulated widely on social media appears to show Mr Tate and his brother being led away from a luxury villa.

Romania's Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) issued a statement, but did not name the Tate brothers, stating that two British citizens and two Romanian citizens were suspected of being part of a criminal group focused on human trafficking.

 

The statement said officers had identified six people who were "sexually exploited" by what it called an "organised criminal group". Police said the victims were "recruited" by the British citizens, who they said had misrepresented their intention to enter into a relationship with the victims - which it called "the loverboy method".

 

They were later forced to perform in pornographic content under threat of violence, the statement said.

 

It also released a video of the raid, showing guns, knives, and money on display in one room.

 

Mr Tate moved to Romania five years ago.

 

Rumours had swirled online that police had been tipped off to Mr Tate's presence in the country after he posted a video taking aim at the environmental activist Greta Thunberg. However, this is not believed to be the case.

 

In the footage he posted, he was handed a pizza box from a local restaurant, which some users suggested had inadvertently revealed his location to officers.

 

The row with Ms Thunberg began earlier this week when Mr Tate, 36, tagged the 19-year-old activist in a post boasting about the "enormous emissions" produced by his fleet of cars.

 

Following the arrest, Ms Thunberg tweeted "this is what happens when you don't recycle your pizza boxes," referring to the online rumour.

 

Prior to gaining worldwide notoriety, Mr Tate - a British citizen who was born in the US - fought professionally as a kickboxer and won world titles.

 

In 2016, he entered the Big Brother house but was soon removed after a video was circulated, which appeared to show him hitting a woman with a belt.

 

At the time of his expulsion from the show, Mr Tate said the video had been edited, calling it "a total lie trying to make me look bad".

Amish Celebrate Old Christmas Today

This post on Old Christmas was originally published in 2011. If you missed it the first time, here’s another look at the story behind this tradition, observed today in Amish communities.

 

Today, January 6th, is the Epiphany. It is also known as β€œOld Christmas”. From the Pinecraft Pauper:

 

January 6th is still widely observed as a holiday by many plain folks, who commemorate the Epiphany with rest and fasting. The Epiphany, traditionally, is the day in which the wise men brought gifts to Jesus. However, January 6th is called β€œOld Christmas” because in 1582 Pope Gregory XIII deleted ten days, eleven minutes, and fifteen seconds from the calendar, to realign it with the seasons of the year, thus technically moving Christmas from Dec. 25th to Jan. 6th.

 

The Scotch-Irish Mountain folks up in Tennessee still call the 6th β€œOld Christmas”. Their tradition has it that one ought never lend anything to anybody on that day, for the lender will never get it back.

January 6th is β€œOld Christmas,” a tradition the Amish brought with them from 18th-century Europe. The Millers keep it as a family day, with visiting and feasting much like that on Christmas Day, but no gifts are exchanged. Amish businesses are closed on this day.

 

β€œWe just enjoy a day at home,” Mary says.

 

Making the switch to the Gregorian calendar must have been interesting. You would go to sleep one day and wake up β€œten days later”.

 

Calendar reform was implemented at different times in different countries in the centuries following the Pope’s decree. Four countries implemented the change on the intended date. In Spain, Italy, Portugal, and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, October 4, 1582 was followed by October 15, 1582.

 

As the years went on, time due to the miscalculation in the previous Julian calendar accumulated. This meant countries who adopted it later had to make a change of more days. When Britain (and the American colonies) adopted the calendar in 1752, it was necessary to add 11 days. In Russia, the change was not implemented until 1918. At that point, a shift of 13 days was required to correct the discrepancy.

 

Others implemented the new calendar in odd ways. Sweden gradually shifted into the new calendar over a period of 50 years, which included adding an unusual February 30th in the year 1712. Greece was the final Eastern Orthodox European country to get with the program, with February 15, 1923 followed by March 1, 1923.

Prosecutors trying to serve David Miscavige with a federal child trafficking lawsuit say that the mysterious leader of Scientology is 'nowhere to be found.'

 

Authorities have attempted to serve papers to Miscavige, 62, on 27 different occasions over the course of four months in the Clearwater-area in Florida and in Los Angeles, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

 

When lawyers appeared at Scientology properties and asked security guards about Miscavige's whereabouts, the guards said that they were clueless. The plaintiffs in the lawsuit have even hired a private investigator in an attempt to track him down.

 

At one point, lawyers even took the direct route and sent an Instagram message to the church's official account to ask about Miscavige.

 

The lawsuit being filed by former church members, husband and wife, Gawain and Laura Baxter and Valeska Paris. The trio say that they were forced into labor on Scientology boats as children after signing a one billion-year contract in exchange for little or no money.

 

Paris left the church in 2009 and Gawain and Laura Baxter left in 2012.

 

The reclusive Scientology chief's last known address was at the controversial church's International building in Los Angeles. Similar to other members of Scientology's extremist wing, the Sea Org, Miscavige does not have a recorded address.

 

In court filings related to the recent lawsuit, two former members of the church said that Miscavige lives in a Scientology property in a gated community known as the Hacienda Gardens in Clearwater, Florida.

 

The Hacienda Gardens is a sprawling 120-unit apartment complex that hosts Scientology staff. It was purchased by the organization in 2001.

 

While in a motion this month, one of the plaintiff's attorneys, Neil Glazer, said, 'Miscavige cannot be permitted to continue his gamesmanship.' Miscavige is due in court on January 20 but it remains pending unless he can be served.

 

Glazer also said Miscavige is taking part in an 'intentional concealment of his location and evasion of service.'

 

In addition to the trafficking allegations, Paris alleges that she was the victim of repeated sexual assaults in her youth and that when her mother left Scientology, Paris, then 17, was locked in an engine room for 48 hours as punishment.

According to the Tampa Bay Times report, lawyers tried to track Miscavige through two traffic tickets he received in the 1990s. Both of those list his Scientology's Los Angeles' center as his home.

 

For their part, Miscavige's lawyers say that he's merely the target of a legal strategy due to his status within Scientology. They say that he does not live in Florida, hence why lawyers can't serve him.

 

US Magistrate Judge Julie Sneed served a summons to Miscavige on behalf of the plaintiffs. Ten copies of the summons were sent to various Scientology properties in Florida and California, all were sent back as undelivered as nobody would sign for them.

 

Outspoken anti-Scientology member Mike Rinder, who once reported directly to Miscavige, has said that the church's leader is shielded in numerous ways by Scientology against summonses and subpoenas.

 

In the lawsuit, Gawain Baxter said his parents put him in a Sea Org nursery when he was two months old.

 

At the age of six, he was forced to sign the one billion year contract, and went to live in a Cadet Org dormitory with around 100 other children.

 

'Children over six years old are considered to be and are frequently told that they are adults and that they should act and expect to be treated as adults.

 

'They are now even called children; rather they must be referred to as "Cadets"' the lawsuit says.

 

They claimed that the church organizers and Sea Org supervisors only allowed them to see their parents once a week, but that visits could be canceled at a moment's notice if they deemed the child to be in trouble.

 

'From the ages of six to fourteen, Gawain was not permitted to attend any accredited public or private school. Instead, schoolwork consisted of two to three hours per day of basic reading, writing, and math in a classroom of thirty other children, under the supervision of Linda Hilton, Cadet Coordinator’s spouse.

 

'Beginning when Gawain was ten years old, he was required to spend one to two hours daily in Scientology indoctrination courses as well.

 

'The cost of each course was recorded as a debt that Gawain was told he would owe if he ever left Cadet Org or Sea Org,' the lawsuit alleges.

 

On top of his 'schooling', he says he was required to perform 'five to ten hours a day' of unpaid labor.

 

When he was 14, he says he was moved into a different phase of the program where he was forced to perform up to 12 hours a day of unpaid labor, renovating properties and cleaning them.

 

'Gawain was sleep-deprived, given inadequate time to eat, and verbally abused by his adult supervisors,' the trio's attorney said.

 

A spokesman for the church denied the allegations, saying, 'The allegations are both scurrilous and ridiculous and the lawsuit is both a sham and a scam. Valeska Paris already wasted the time of law enforcement when she made these fraudulent claims years ago.

 

'It is public record they closed her file stating β€œThere are no corroborating witnesses or evidence provided to support the allegations.”'

This presentation focuses on the myriad ways in which the powers-that-be in the United States have been systematically dumbing down Americans as a society for a very long time – all by meticulously calculated design. Originally the term dumbing down was used as a slang expression in 1933 by film screenwriters to mean β€œrevising [the script] so as to appeal to those of lower education or intelligence.”

 

The most obvious example of how Americans have been dumbed down is through this nation’s failed public education system. At one time not that long ago America reigned supreme as a leading model for the rest of the world providing the best quality free public K-12 education system on the planet. But over the last many decades while much of the rest of the world has been passing us by, it seems an insidious federal agenda has been implemented to condition and brainwash a population of mindless, robotic citizenry that simply does what it’s told, and of course the brainwashing commences early in America’s schools.

 

But prior to delving into the many ways we’ve been duped and dumbed down through the years, a cold hard look at the devastating result seems very much in order here. With doom and gloom warnings of impending collapse, the US economy is floundering still mired in recession, emaciated and cut off from life support, as a consequence of waging too many wars around the world (be they the longest running costly defeats in US history or the fast rising dirty little Special Ops wars secretly raging on every corner of the globe or Obama’s personal favorite, state sponsored terrorism from drone-filled skies). As a pawn to the military industrial complex, the US government has chosen permanent war over its own people. This treasonous decision has decimated the middle class and created a college educated indentured class struggling in heavy debt to find any means to stay afloat. With an outsourced, now vanished manufacturing base, upward mobility and the American dream have become tragic casualties of modern life, now a sad, nostalgic bygone reminder of the once greatness of America.

 

With the US the biggest debtor nation on earth, Americans are drowning in debt as hopelessly trapped collateral damage from a rapidly sinking, overextended Empire desperate to remain the sole global superpower even if it means death to the whole human race. At home the hapless American population has become increasingly the victim of its own government’s tyranny and oppression under the constant roving eyeball of criminal surveillance and a brutal militarized security state, leaving its citizens defenseless without any security, liberty, freedom or place to hide. After centuries of carefully orchestrated design, oligarchs of the banking cabal have finally gotten what they’ve been plotting and scheming, globally enforced austerity and impoverishment reducing life in America and around the world to near Third World status, and absolute control. The oligarchs are counting on a dumbed down population too busy addicted to their video games or watching sports or Kim Kardashian’s latest wardrobe malfunction to even notice that a longtime oligarch eugenics plan is already well underway.

 

But this dismal outcome has long been in the making on many fronts. Over numerous decades a grand experiment engaging in social engineering with America’s youth has been steadily working to homogenize a lowest common denominator product of sub par mediocrity, creating generations of young Americans who can neither read nor write, nor think for themselves in any critical manner. According to a study last year by the US Department of Education, 19% of US high school graduates cannot read, 21% of adults read below 5th grade level and that these alarming rates have not changed in the last ten years. …

A college student has been arrested for the murders of four University of Idaho students almost six weeks ago.

 

Four police sources have confirmed to NBC that a 25-year-old man has been arrested in Pennsylvania in connection with the deaths on November 13.

 

The man was taken into custody by local police in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and the FBI, according to Fox News.

 

Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, and XaIt is understood that the suspect is a college student but does not attend the University of Idaho, according to police sources.

 

He appeared in court this morning, with Moscow Police confirming that they will be holding a press conference at 4pm EST.

 

A spokeswoman for the department declined to comment on the arrest when contacted by DailyMail.com.

 

Authorities have been left baffled by the brutal killings and have repeatedly appealed for the public for help with the case.

 

Reports from both coroner and police confirm that each of the students had been stabbed multiple times in the torso – and were ambushed in their sleep.
