Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld gave a speech on Sept. 10, 2001, at an event for the Department of Defense’s Acquisition and Logistics Excellence Week.

In the speech, Rumsfeld talked about how it was difficult to track financial transactions because of antiquated systems within the Department of Defense.

As an example, he said that “according to some estimates” the department was unable to track $2.3 trillion in transactions.

The issue was being unable to track how the money was spent, though, not money going missing entirely.

"We cannot share information from floor to floor in this building because it's stored on dozens of technological systems that are inaccessible or incompatible," Rumsfeld said.

The Hunter Biden Case

An example of America’s dueling realities.

 

Cashing in

When top Democrats are asked about Hunter Biden, they tend to dismiss his problems as a private issue. “Hunter Biden is a private citizen, and this was a personal matter,” Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, said last month when asked about federal tax and gun charges against him. “The president, the first lady, they love their son, and they support him as he continues to rebuild his life.”

This explanation is partially fair. Hunter Biden has struggled with drug addiction. His failure to pay taxes seems connected to the chaos of his life while he was using crack cocaine, and the gun charge stems from his claiming to be sober when he bought a handgun in 2018.

But it’s a stretch for anyone to suggest that Hunter Biden is merely a private citizen. When his father was vice president from 2009 to 2017, Hunter tried to create the impression that he could leverage his family connections to help his clients, as a former business partner has testified to Congress.

Some clients believed it. Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, put Hunter on its board, in an attempt to signal that it was pro-Western. A Chinese tycoon also signed a partnership with him. All told, Hunter made more than $800,000 in 2013 and more than $1.2 million in 2014.

My colleague Luke Broadwater, who covers Congress, told me that he initially found the public discussion of Hunter Biden to be uninteresting — typical partisan noise. But Luke came to believe the story was more important. “Many rich and famous people try to cash in on their family name, including relatives of the politicians,” Luke said. “It’s certainly worth newspaper coverage.”

Luke notes that Joe Biden made a false statement during a 2020 campaign debate when he claimed, “My son has not made money” in China. “The only guy who made money from China is this guy,” Biden continued, referring to Donald Trump. (Amazingly, Biden was correct about the Trump part: The Trumps received money from the same Chinese company.)

These details are not pretty. The current president’s son made substantial sums of money from the perception of his proximity to top government officials, and the president has claimed otherwise. That story is notably different from past Republican lies about Obama’s birthplace or Kerry’s war record.

 

Unsupported claims

The problem for Biden’s Republican critics is that they are making their own untruthful statements — or at least statements lacking any support. House Republicans have claimed that the elder Biden himself received money as part of Hunter’s business dealings; they have produced no evidence to support the claim, Luke notes. There is also no evidence that Joe Biden altered policy to benefit Hunter’s clients.

Sometimes, the Republican claims have turned farcical. House Republicans portrayed Gal Luft, a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, as a truth teller who would expose the Bidens. Luft has not done so. Instead, a grand jury indicted him last month for acting as an unregistered agent of the Chinese government and helping Iran evade sanctions. Luft denies any wrongdoing.

For anybody who wants to dig deeper into the Hunter Biden saga, I recommend this detailed article by my colleagues Adam Entous, Michael Schmidt and Katie Benner. Here’s the key sentence: “The real Hunter Biden story is complex and very different in important ways from the narrative promoted by Republicans — but troubling in its own way.” As Michael said to me: “Should the vice president’s son be selling the perception of access to his father even if that son isn’t delivering anything for that money?”

Jonathan Chait of New York magazine has compared Hunter Biden to the Supreme Court justices who have accepted large gifts from private citizens. “In American politics, the worst abuses by powerful people usually involve clever ways to exploit the law without committing crimes,” Chait wrote.

Yes, Trump and his family have profited much more from their government service than Hunter Biden has. But that isn’t a fully satisfying explanation to many Americans. Perhaps, Chait argues, it’s time for stricter ethics rules for the highest officials and their close relatives:

“It’s unsavory, but it’s not a crime” is a good argument for a defense lawyer. It’s not a great argument for people who are in a position to write new laws and whose survival depends on refuting the cynicism of a pseudo-populist whose appeal is rooted in the corrosive assumption that every politician is on the take.

All of the white vans were working for the ostensible moving company Urban Moving Systems under direction of Dominic Suter, an Israeli Spy who immediately fled to Israel after the attacks.

It was confirmed by two former CIA officers that this Israeli moving company was a front operation for the Mossad. The two CIA sources noted that movers vans are a common intelligence cover.

Humans since childhood have been conditioned to depend on the approval or guidance of the "elders" or "people who know more than them" as authorities. I am working on a hypothesis about vaccine injury. I've seen people, usually very well informed, getting critical of regular people who very obviously might be suffering from vaccine injury and yet in social media they never own or admit that possibility.

 

What I am thinking is this: If you are a regular person who needs to get well enough to go to work, you may not really think it important to be declaring what you think the shot may have done to you. Instead, you seek care however you can get it.

 

In the last few weeks I've seen a couple of things that make me think regular people are just trying to get along with life. No doubt Big Pharma drugs like Ozempic can have bad effects. However, the major symptoms of vaccine injury don't look that different to me, from the complaints following Ozempic and other weight loss drug use. Going back years, Andrew Wakefield saw gut issues in children who may have been injured by MMR vaccines. Also, it seems that gastric paralysis could be related to Gardasil injections.

 

I have now heard of "autoimmune" diseases being related to tick bites. That makes sense also, especially given the plausible Plum Island research center and Lyme disease connection. However, when considering people's typical exposures I would guess many people, especially in cities have had more vaccine injections in the last two years than tick bites. If I was ill however and could get help in some fashion just by avoiding the vaccine-illness connection I might just go along with the "tick" explanation whether or not it ended up being true.

 

Where it gets dicey is if we hope to prevent future harms to people. In that case it is 100% necessary to have a literal come to Jesus moment over vaccine injury.

Beijing said Monday that a US citizen jailed for life for espionage lured Chinese officials into bugged hotels and used “honey traps” to blackmail them into spying for Washington.

 

Hong Kong-born John Shing-wan Leung, 78, was sentenced in May to life in prison for spying.

 

In a post on social media, Beijing’s Ministry of State Security — one of the country’s top intelligence gathering bodies — claimed he had been recruited by the United States in the 1980s, kicking off a ''“30-year career in spying”.''

 

The ministry said US officials constructed an elaborate backstory for him, framing him as a philanthropist and pushing him to spy on the Chinese diaspora and entrap Chinese officials visiting the United States.

 

“Leung carried out espionage activities against our country on a large scale,” the ministry said on Weibo.

 

“If (he) learned about Chinese personnel’s plan to go to the United States to carry out official business, he would report them to the US intelligence agencies,” it said.

 

“He would, following the US side’s order, bring them to restaurants or hotels where the US intelligence agencies have installed monitoring equipment in advance,” it added.

 

''He would then work “to extract information and even set up honey traps in an attempt to coerce and recruit our personnel”, the ministry said — referring to the use of sexual blackmail in espionage.''

 

Spy crackdown

Chinese law metes out harsh punishment for those it accuses of spying, from life in prison to execution in extreme cases.

 

President Xi Jinping has stepped up a campaign against alleged undercover activities in recent months, with a new law passed in July dramatically expanding the definition of spying.

 

China has long faced accusations that it is involved in espionage against Western powers. Beijing has denied the claims.

 

FBI Director Christopher Wray said in 2020 that Chinese spying poses “the greatest long-term threat to our nation’s information and intellectual property, and to our economic vitality”.

 

And over the weekend, police in the UK said that they had arrested a man in his twenties at his home in Edinburgh for spying, with the Sunday Times reporting he was a researcher in Britain’s parliament.

Prime Minister Modi criticized Canada for allowing Sikh secessionist groups to operate in the country.

The RCMP are investigating the discovery of box cutters on an Air Canada plane that was to fly from Toronto to New York on Sept. 11, The Globe and Mail has learned.

Flight 704, which was scheduled to leave at 9 a.m., never took off from Pearson International Airport. It was grounded minutes after two hijacked airliners slammed into the World Trade Center in New York.

The Air Canada passengers left the plane and went home.

The Globe has learned that over the past few weeks, RCMP investigators have visited most of the passengers on Flight 704.

One passenger who was on board the aircraft confirmed yesterday that the Mounties had come to his home. "They asked me if I had noticed anything suspicious . . . if I remember anyone who looked suspicious."

The passenger, who asked not to be identified, said he was instructed by police not to speak to anyone about the investigation.

"I asked them why they were asking questions and they told me box cutters were found under some of the seats. It's pretty scary to know that I was on a flight to New York on Sept. 11 and box cutters were under some seats."

The terrorists who hijacked the four U.S. airplanes on that day used box cutters in their attacks on the crews and passengers.

The four airplanes they commandeered left three different airports – in Boston, New York and Washington. The first, American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston, crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center at 8:48 a.m. The last plane, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed into a Pennsylvania field at 10:10 a.m.

RCMP spokesman Jack Bellerose refused to confirm or deny the discovery, saying that "even if we had information to that effect, we would not be able to give it to you because it would be part of an investigation."

However, a police source said once the discovery was made, the aircraft was secured and thoroughly combed for possible leads.

Laura Cooke, a spokeswoman for Air Canada, said "if your information is correct, then this is a police matter and I can't comment."

She confirmed, however, that on Sept. 14, Peel Regional Police had been called in to investigate the discovery of two X-Acto knives in overhead bins of an Air Canada Airbus 320 that had been grounded at Pearson International Airport on Sept. 11.

X-Acto knives have razor-sharp retractable blades and can used as box cutters.

The knives were found by a passenger as Flight 792, from Toronto to Calgary, was boarding.

That aircraft was the same one that was to have been used for Flight 704 to New York on Sept. 11, The Globe and Mail has learned.

Peel Regional Police and the RCMP were called in and the aircraft was impounded for a thorough search using dogs trained to sniff out explosives and weapons. All the passengers were taken off the flight and put on another plane bound for Calgary.

Mysterious moonquake traced to Apollo 17 lunar lander base

When they went to the moon, Apollo astronauts placed seismometers on the surface. Those instruments strikingly revealed that the moon experiences moonquakes, just as the Earth experiences earthquakes. In fact, scientists have since determined there are four types of moonquakes: Deep, shallow, thermal and the kind stemming from meteorite impacts.

 

But a new look at thermal earthquake data recorded by instruments from the Apollo 17 mission has unveiled a fifth and unexpected type of moonquake — one that emanates from the Apollo 17 lunar lander base itself.

 

During the Apollo 17 mission, scientists calibrated three seismometers to record thermal earthquakes on the moon. Placed on the lunar surface, these devices recorded data from October 1976 to May 1977. Such thermal quakes are caused by intense temperature changes that occur on the moon as it transitions from the lunar day to lunar night, which can swing from 250 degrees Fahrenheit (121 degrees Celsius) to -208 degrees Fahrenheit (-133 degrees Celsius).

 

Using modern techniques, including machine learning, researchers from the California Institute of Technology reanalyzed the data, determining that thermal quakes occur with very precise regularity the day. But, they also found new tremors in the data that weren't linked to the thermal quakes — ones that only occurred in the morning.

 

Triangulating the origin of the mystery quakes, researchers surprisingly realized they came from the Apollo 17 lunar lander base, which expands and vibrates each morning as it becomes heated by the sun.

 

"Every lunar morning when the sun hits the lander, it starts popping off," Allen Husker, a Caltech research professor of geophysics who worked on the project, said in a statement. "Every five to six minutes another one, over a period of five to seven Earth hours. They were incredibly regular and repeating."

 

So while these new moonquakes might not be moon-generated quakes, they're still contributing to our seismic knowledge of the celestial body — and that's particularly important for future lunar development.

 

"It's important to know as much as we can from the existing data so we can design experiments and missions to answer the right questions," said Husker. "The Moon is the only planetary body other than the Earth to have had more than one seismometer on it at a time. It gives us the only opportunity to thoroughly study another body."

 

A new seismic instrument just landed on the moon last month with India's Chandrayaan 3 Lander, and it managed to record its own evidence of moonquakes. The Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA), comprising six high-sensitivity accelerometers, recorded a seemingly natural moonquake on August 26, 2023 — though the source is being investigated. Chandrayaan-3 entered sleep mode on Sept. 2 in preparation for the lunar night.

 

Through further lunar seismic research, "[w]e will hopefully be able to map out the subsurface cratering and to look for deposits," said Husker. "There are also certain regions in craters at the Moon's South Pole that never see sunlight; they are permanently shadowed. If we could put up a few seismometers there, we could look for water ice that may be trapped in the subsurface; seismic waves travel slower through water."

 

The team's research was published in the Journal of Geophysical Research - Planets on September 5.

Yet she was told her children would not only be denied treatment without the wearing of face coverings, but the doctor’s office also threatened to call Child Protective Services on the mother.

If we want to push back effectively against medical tyranny, let’s start by passing a law that specifically identifies and supersedes those Obama-era rules in the Federal Register (and any related following rules), declaring them null and void.

 

Then let’s amend Section 361 of the Public Health Services Act to further limit the scope of any detention authority.

 

With those two mistakes corrected, the legislature should then remove the ability for the HHS director to declare public health emergencies and instead require that the director present that recommendation to the president.

As God is my witness and I am His, this is the truth about 911 coming from a ground zero worker and a previous top tier Wall street information technologist.

The 911 attacks were planned in advance by a combination of foreign and domestic criminals working together in orchestration. Cantor Fitzgerald was the target, as it was in the first failed attempt to take down the Towers; with the van bombings. I was warned not to work in Manhattan in the first two weeks of September the following year, back in 1999. I was told sternly, just do it, and the person warning me said something to the affect "All I can tell you is there is a lot of noise and chatter". Nothing transpired in 2000 and thank God I wasn't able to take a lucrative unsolicited offer, to work there the following year from a manager who worked for Salomon Brothers (Citicorp owned); starting September 10th as I was delayed by construction work that I could not leave unfinished knowing confidently I could join at a later date. They knew computers could be off by a fractional of a percent, but that was enough to trade billions daily and then to swindle foreign currency difference. Cantor was faster than all and was taking over ForEx which impacted all the banks but Citi in particular. After 911 all stocks tanked but whereas banks like JP Morgan and others lost about 25% valuation, down from $110 a share to about $75, Citi took a bath. Their stock went down from $120 to less than $2 a share, I think $1.57. Cantor had to go because unlike Jane Street, they did not feed Israel kickbacks. Never let a crisis go to waste. Citi was owned by the Saudi Prince Alaweed and the Saudis were BFF with the Bushes who took over control of security for the Towers beforehand. I interviewed in those buildings after the first attempt. I counted 22 Id checks and rope maze navigation's to get to an interview. Nothing got in or out without extreme security checks, opening laptop bags, turn on, empty pockets conveyors, pictures, fingerprints, licenses, etc… They obviously knew about the gold in the basement as it was already retrieved before anyone could search for it. They even killed the employees at the Pentagon that helped them steal the 2.3 trillion dollars from the Pentagon. The only thing more disgusting then collecting the remains of innocent American citizens is the authorities that covered it all up. Two planes cannot take down 3 buildings, we do not even have missiles that can do that. That was the smoking gun of an inside job because there are over 1 million buildings in NYC and there has never been 1 in it's history that has ever collapsed for no reason at all, more less predicted 20 minutes too early.

TERRIFYING footage has emerged of a plane cabin filling up with smoke after its engine burst into flames mid-air.

 

Nine people sustained "minor injuries" after the Air China flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Singapore, authorities said.

 

Flight CA403 from the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu "encountered smoke in the forward cargo hold and lavatory" while on its way to the city-state, Changi Airport said in a statement on Facebook.

 

The plane, which held 146 passengers and nine crew, landed safely at around 4:15pm local time.

 

A statement reported that "all passengers and crew have evacuated safely".

 

It also confirmed that "The fire in the left engine has been put out.

 

"Nine passengers sustained minor injuries related to smoke inhalation and abrasions during the evacuation process.

 

"They have since been attended to."

 

A video clip posted on X showed passengers exiting what appeared to be the damaged aircraft down an emergency slide as the blaze relented.

 

The runway was closed briefly and one aircraft was diverted to the nearby island of Batam in Indonesia, The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said.

 

It said the Transport Safety Investigation Bureau was investigating the incident and has contacted its Chinese counterpart to help.

 

Air China did not respond to an AFP query.

 

It comes after passengers frantically pleaded for oxygen masks to descend as smoke began to fill the cabin mid-air.

 

Travellers on the Gol Airlines flight across Brazil were left gasping for air as pilots were forced to make a dramatic emergency landing.

Multicellular biofilms found in kombucha, have shown promise in surviving harsh environments on Earth, prompting scientists to investigate their potential to endure space’s extreme conditions. The microorganisms are even being considered as bio-factories for self-sustaining life support systems for space settlements.

ESA's Expose facility held experiments on the International Space Station to investigate if and how bacteria survive in space and in simulated martian conditions.

 

Samples flew on the outside of the Space Station. The results show that a microorganism, cyanobacterium, was able to repair its DNA and resume cell division even after being exposed to cosmic radiation, even resisting the destructive iron ions that cause extensive cell damage.

 

In many living beings, tissues regenerate like human skin or bacterial biofilms by consistently multiplying through a process of cell division. The way these cells stop dividing until they've fixed their DNA damage is still a mystery, but researchers suspect a specific gene – the sulA gene – could play a part in it. The sulA gene acts like a traffic signal for cells. It stops cells from dividing until they've repaired their DNA, like a red light stops cars from moving. It's a crucial part of a cell's safety system, ensuring that any damages are fixed before the cells continue to multiply.

 

Another experiment revealed that cell clusters provided a microhabitat for smaller species, showing that some cells can ‘hitchhike’ through space within larger groups of cells that protect the hitchhikers.

 

Planetary protection is a set of protocols to prevent harmful biological and chemical contamination from Earth reaching other planets, moons, or celestial bodies, and vice-versa. Experiments like these can help understand how cell clusters and biofilms protect against the extremes of space, preventing contamination and preventing the contamination of space missions. They could also be used to shield organisms on longer journeys through space.

 

Microbes can also be a valuable ‘radiation model’. By understanding how these microorganisms respond, researchers can gain insights to comprehend and enhance human health and well-being. This includes developing radiation-protection strategies for astronauts in space.

Future Artemis missions to the lunar Gateway could involve cultivating microorganisms on the Moon.

 

"The cultures show great potential in supporting long-term human presence on the Moon and on Mars,” says Petra Rettberg, Head of the German Aerospace Center’s (DLR) astrobiology group.

 

“Due to their ability to produce oxygen and function as bio-factories, this biotechnology could significantly enhance future space missions and human space exploration efforts," adds ESA deep space exploration scientist Nicol Caplin.

 

“I hope to see our samples attached to the lunar Gateway in the future or perhaps utilised on the surface of the Moon and beyond. Until then, we will continue to explore the possibilities our bio-cultures offer.”

Without going into specific detail. Yes… They see what the average person is going through every day.

 

Something as simple as giving someone a warning for a broken tail light instead of a defective equipment citation that carries a $100 plus dollar fine…

 

In fact… These people in the right places are so aware of what the average person is going through every single day… that it hurts for them to see it, but realize they due to the bigger picture, they can't do as much as they would like.

Congress backed AT&T's proposal and passed legislation allowing use of only the numbers 9-1-1 when creating a single emergency calling service, thereby making 9-1-1 a standard emergency number nationwide. A Bell System policy was established to absorb the cost of central office modifications and any additions necessary to accommodate the 9-1-1 code as part of the general rate base.

With Enhanced 9-1-1, or E9-1-1, local PSAPs are responsible for paying network trunking costs according to tariffed rates, and for purchasing telephone answering equipment from the vendor of their choice.

On February 16, 1968, Senator Rankin Fite completed the first 9-1-1 call made in the United States in Haleyville, Alabama. The serving telephone company was then Alabama Telephone Company. This Haleyville 9-1-1 system is still in operation today.

On February 22, 1968, Nome, Alaska implemented 9-1-1 service.

In March 1973, the White House's Office of Telecommunications issued a national policy statement which recognized the benefits of 9-1-1, encouraged the nationwide adoption of 9-1-1, and provided for the establishment of a Federal Information Center to assist units of government in planning and implementation.

The intense interest in the concept of 9-1-1 can be attributed primarily to the recognition of characteristics of modern society, i.e., increased incidences of crimes, accidents, and medical emergencies, inadequacy of existing emergency reporting methods, and the continued growth and mobility of the population.
