Other legal challenges against the rule were filed at the Second, Sixth, Eighth, Eleventh, and D.C. Circuit courts. All the lawsuits, including the Fifth Circuit one, were consolidated into a single case, with the Eight Circuit set to hear the challenge.

 

On March 26, the Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America, the Texas Association of Business, and the Longview Chamber of Commerce filed a motion in the Eighth Circuit, seeking a stay of the SEC rules pending judicial review.

 

Challenging SEC

Lawsuits from Republican states claim that the SEC breached their rule-making authority by asking public firms to disclose climate risks while such regulations have not received approval from Congress.

 

SEC’s rules create costly, unnecessary “red tape” for businesses. They accused the climate rules of being part of the Biden administration’s push to make sure investment decisions in the country are driven by climate considerations rather than financial returns.

‘Outrageous’ Climate Mandate

Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, one of the Republican AGs that led 25 states to file lawsuits against the climate rules, called the SEC’s April 4 stay a “victory” that “shuts down the most outrageous climate mandate for businesses since Biden took office.”

 

“The SEC’s job is to protect people from fraud. It has no business slapping companies with extremist climate mandates. We are making it clear that Biden has to follow the law like everyone else,” she said.

 

“By halting this mandate, we are protecting businesses from costly red tape, securing our supply chain, and defending family farms. Next, we are going to make this win permanent!”

Biden may have trouble getting on Ohio’s general election ballot, state’s top election official warns

In a letter to Ohio’s Democratic Party chair, Secretary of State Frank LaRose warns that the Democratic National Convention will take place after a state deadline to declare a candidate.

 

Ohio’s secretary of state on Friday signaled that the Democratic National Convention may take place too late for President Joe Biden to appear on the general election ballot in the state, according to a letter obtained by NBC News.

 

“The Democratic National Convention is scheduled to convene on August 19, 2024, which occurs more than a week after the August 7 deadline to certify a presidential candidate to the office,” Secretary of State Frank LaRose wrote to Ohio Democratic Party Chairwoman Liz Walters.

 

ABC News first reported about the existence and content of this letter.

 

In the note, LaRose goes on to say that the oversight can be rectified in two ways: either by the Democratic Party moving up its nominating convention or by getting the Ohio state legislature to “create an exemption to this statutory requirement” by May 9 in accordance with state law.

Ohio state Rep. Allison Russo, the state House minority leader, and state Sen. Nickie Antonio, the state Senate minority leader, were also copied on LaRose’s letter.

 

A spokesperson for the Biden campaign told NBC News that the campaign is “monitoring the situation in Ohio and we’re confident that Joe Biden will be on the ballot in all 50 states.”

LITTLETON, Colo. — Many Coloradans found themselves frustrated and rushing to search for alternatives after Xcel Energy shut down power on Saturday to tens of thousands of homes in areas prone to wildfires due to high winds.

This marks the first preemptive power shutdown ever conducted by Xcel in Colorado. Power lines were deactivated in six counties including Boulder, Gilpin, Jefferson, Larimer, Douglas, and Broomfield starting Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m., affecting over 55,000 customers. The shutdown is expected to last into Sunday.

Antifa Battered In Coolock, Their Phones Seized By Nationalists Apparently Revealing Seedy Links Between Media, NGOs, and Far Left

Earlier today, locals protesting against a refugee centre in Coolock, Dublin were confronted by leftist journalists and other antifa types.

 

Here are the facts as we understand them from local first-hand sources in Coolock. We will be updating this article as more details are established:

 

A small group of men arrived in the afternoon of Saturday April 6th to the old Crown Paints Factory in Coolock which is being picketed by locals opposing the plantation of up to 1000 asylum seekers there.

 

They arrived to counterprotest and take footage

According to video and our sources, the men were told to leave as they allegedly posed a risk to the women and children at the protest

When they wouldn’t move on, they were apprehended by the locals, had their flags seized, and forced to vacate the area

 

Some of the protestors dropped their mobile phones, unlocked, at the scene, along with other belongings such as driver’s licenses and UK identification

 

The protestors reviewed the content of the phones to delete any invasive content that had been recorded

 

On one phone, which seems to belong to a mainstream journalist, would appear to show a concerning level of cooperation between various media sources, NGO workers, and prominent antifa operatives in both Ireland and the UK

 

Our sources explained, and this appears to be corroborated by messages on the phone, that the antifa group had planned to oppose an anti-immigration protest in the city centre.

 

They ultimately went to Coolock as they thought there would only be women and children there

The videos of the phone’s content, widely circulating on social media, seem possibly to hold a vast quantity of insider info on the Far Left in Ireland

 

The contents are certain to be studied in detail by nationalists. Already it seems the phone numbers of maybe a majority of prominent pro-plantation activists have been revealed

 

This embarrassing physical humiliation for the Left, along with the trove of info revealed, is the final nail in the coffin of street-level leftist organising in the 26 counties. The time of “No Pasaran” has passed

On Saturday, X owner Elon Musk called out the Brazilian government for blocking access to popular X accounts in the country and censoring them.

 

At the time of publication, it was not immediately clear how many and which accounts have been affected. However, the official X account said that the owners of the accounts have been notified.

 

 

"X Corp. has been forced by court decisions to block certain popular accounts in Brazil. We have informed those accounts that we have taken this action. We do not know the reasons these blocking orders have been issued. We do not know which posts are alleged to violate the law. We are prohibited from saying which court or judge issued the order, or on what grounds," the company said.

 

"We are prohibited from saying which accounts are impacted. We are threatened with daily fines if we fail to comply. We believe that such orders are not in accordance with the Marco Civil da Internet or the Brazilian Federal Constitution, and we challenge the orders legally where possible. The people of Brazil, regardless of their political beliefs, are entitled to freedom of speech, due process, and transparency from their own authorities," it added.

 

Elon Musk asked Minister of the Supreme Federal Court of Brazil Alexandre de Moraes why it would be happening.

 

 

Musk then followed up and wrote, "Censorship is not the right wayu2026 Freedom of speech is," in response.

 

 

This past week, journalist Michael Shellenberger posted on the platform about the u201cTwitter Filesu201d in the country of Brazil where censorship was also noted.

 

u201cBrazil is engaged in a sweeping crackdown on free speech led by a Supreme Court justice named Alexandre de Moraes,u201d Schellenberger wrote.

 

 

"De Moraes has thrown people in jail without trial for things they posted on social media. He has demanded the removal of users from social media platforms. And he has required the censorship of specific posts, without giving users any right of appeal or even the right to see the evidence presented against them," he added.

 

Shellenbergeru2019s reporting revealed that de Moraes and the Superior Electoral Court demanded that then Twitter u201creveal personal details about Twitter users who used hashtags he did not likeu201d as well as u201caccess to Twitteru2019s internal data, in violation of Twitter policy.u201d

Additionally, the Brazilian official u201csought to censor, unilaterally, Twitter posts by sitting members of Brazilu2019s Congressu201d as well as u201cweaponize Twitteru2019s content moderation policies against supporters of then-president Bolsonaro.u201d

BRAZIL IS ON THE BRINK

 

I’m reporting to you from Brazil, where a dramatic series of events are underway.

 

At 5:52 pm Eastern Time, today, April 6, 2024, X corporation, formerly known as Twitter, announced that a Brazilian court had forced it to “block certain popular accounts in Brazil.”

 

Then, less than one hour later, the owner of X, @ElonMusk announced that X would defy the court’s order, and lift all restrictions.

 

“As a result,” said Musk, “we will probably lose all revenue in Brazil and have to shut down our office there. But principles matter more than profit.”

 

At any moment, Brazil’s Supreme Court could shut off all access to X/Twitter for the people of Brazil.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Brazil is on the brink of dictatorship at the hands of a totalitarian Supreme Court Justice named Alexandre de Moraes.

 

President Lula da Silva is participating in the push toward totalitarianism. Since taking office, Lula has massively increased government funding of the mainstream news media, most of which are encouraging increased censorship.

 

What Lula and de Moraes are doing is an outrageous violation of Brazil’s constitution and the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.

 

At this moment, Brazil is not yet a dictatorship. It still has elections and the Brazilian people have other means at their disposal to confront authoritarianism.

 

But the Federal Supreme Court and the Superior Electoral Court are directly interfere in those elections through censorship.

 

Three days ago I published the Twitter Files for Brazil. They show that Moraes has violated the Brazilian Constitution. Moraes illegally demanded that Twitter reveal private information about Twitter users who used hashtags he considered inappropriate. He demanded access to Twitter's internal data, violating the platform's policy. He censored, on his own initiative and without any respect for due process, posts on Twitter by parliamentarians from the Brazilian Congress. And Moraes tried to turn Twitter's content moderation policies into a weapon against supporters of then-president Jair Bolsonaro.

 

I say this as an independent and non-partisan journalist. I'm not a fan of either Bolsonaro or Trump. My political views are very moderate. But I know censorship when I see it.

 

The Twitter Files also revealed that Google, Facebook, Uber, WhatsApp and Instagram betrayed the people of Brazil. If such evidence is proven, the executives of these companies behaved like cowards: they provided the Brazilian government with personal registration data and telephone numbers without a court order and, therefore, violating the law.

When Twitter refused to provide Brazilian authorities with private user information, including direct messages, the government attempted to sue Twitter's top Brazilian lawyer.

 

When I lived in Brazil in 1992, I was very left-wing. At the time, Lula and the PT's slogans were “Without fear of being happy”.

 

In recent days, I have spoken to dozens of Brazilians, including professors, journalists and respected lawyers. Everyone tells me they are shocked by what is happening. They told me that they are afraid to speak their mind and that the Lula government is complicit in creating this climate of fear.

 

Brazil belongs to the Brazilians. It is not my country. As such, there are limits to what I am capable of doing.

 

But I can say things that many Brazilians do not feel safe saying: Alexandre de Moraes is a tyrant. And the only way to deal with tyrants is to confront them. It is up to Brazil’s senators to confront the tyrant. And it is up to the people of Brazil to demand that their senators do so.

Went to see the Gen Flynn’s movie last night. Met many super cool ppl there. Couple of things stood out to me.

1) Gen Flynn served in several of the most critical intel positions in the military and thru out his career. It is super obvious the warfighters, selecting him as their intel officer thought very highly of him. They had their pick of all services intel superstars and consistently picked him.

2)He published a report that identified many if not most of the intel community failures while deployed. His brother, was deployed to the same theater as a war fighter and was able to provide a direct feedback loop illustrating many failures within our intelligence structure. All Gen Flynn did was document the obvious. Why would an administration not want to win a war and optimize the intel to do so?

3)the military publishes worthless after action reports no one ever reads but Gen Flynn’s was a how to fix it report that desperately needed to be implemented IF you were interested in winning

4) We don’t fight to win, we sacrifice our military on the alter of MIC.

5)Clapper recommended Gen Flynn to Obama for DIA which was a promotion AFTER publishing the report.

6)Two things happen while at DIA. He creates a team to follow the money of DIA clandestine activities. He also is asked to provide congressional testimony. When on active duty you must submit the testimony to DoD prior to testifying. He was testifying about DIA’s intel assessment. All senior intel (CIA chief, NSA, etc were asked to do the same). It was DIA’s assessment, meaning those who worked at DIA during that period of time. It was NOT DoD’s assessment bc they could provide their own. It wasn’t the JCS assessment they have their own Chf of intel. Etc. He owed his staff at DIA an adequate representation of their assessment. Among those in the intel community and most importantly he owed it to the country. The ppl who reviewed the testimony edited it and wanted him to agree with the others on the panel, in other words lie. He refused. He was fired as a result.

7)Dec 15, 2015 Retired Gen Flynn was asked to travel to Russia to an event by U.S. Gov. He was brought in and briefed on what they need led to know and he was debriefed upon his return. This trip was a set up to dirty him up just in case Trump didn’t take BHO advice and steer clear of Flynn. They leaked the info on the trip excluding the part where he was directed to go and was used as a collector.

Finally and most significantly, from my perspective: when sworn in as Nat Sec Advisor he asked the CIA’s in briefing ppl, when given a briefing on a program he did not name, what had been achieved with all the money they had spent on the program. What did they have to show for it? The briefer could not answer the question. The CIA sent a briefing team over to try to explain. They weren’t able to and in the immediate aftermath of that the attacks were ramped up.

My premium TV feeds are filled with shows where I manage to last five minutes before they prove so revolting, violent or dishonest (by which I mean woke) that I have to turn them off. We’re talking twenty or thirty or forty shows in my ‘continue watching feeds’ while I’m searching for somewhere to park my tired brain.

I’ve given up. I watch videos made by actual non-lizard humans, they are playful and fun, and informative and exciting. They are positive. They are the future. I can watch a deep dive on the Vatican Library, or a specific period of history without the drawn out self-importance of ‘a prize-winning documentary’. It is a huge trend, vis below chart. “Young people” spend three minutes a day on Netflix, like me searching for something to watch and not finding it. They spend two hours on tiktok, 20 minutes on Youtube, 1 minute on Facebook.

 

I do not know what has happened to Hollywood. Or rather I do. Cultural Marxism happened. The woman who got me my first job in journalism for the LA Weekly; was the daughter of communists and made a fine living writing scripts that were never greenlit, also two books about the fabulosity of Castro. I’m sure even she thinks the current mess is appalling; she has retreated to Santa Barbara where she no doubt volunteers at the local food bank (not).

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on March 18 invited Chinese automakers to build plants in the United States, offering China the same deal that Ronald Reagan extended to Japan in the 1980s.

Over the past week, I've discovered a new passion for local history and geography, and really feel that with all I've learned, that I'm really looking at the place - and the whole world, with new eyes.

It's really amazing how just a tiny shift in perception can make you see places that you've lived in your whole life in a totally different way, and it makes me wonder what else there is to see!

Can anyone suggest what sort of features I should look for so that I can find more interesting places to look at? I'm especially interested in old buildings, bridges, and railways. I'm in NE England. Note that I'm a fairly unconfident person and don't want to get TOO close to any dangerous areas like high drops or places where there might be unpleasant locals.

Neo-Nazi and far-right agitators are exploiting Scotland’s new hate crime law to make vexatious complaints en masse in an attempt to “overwhelm” police systems.

A prominent figure in England’s white nationalist movement is among those urging followers to spam Police Scotland with anonymous online reports, the Observer has found.

The leader of a far-right group – one of several fringe organisations being assessed by the UK government under its new extremism definition – promoted a private channel on the encrypted messaging app Telegram that includes a “call to action” urging members to “mass report”.

Posts in the channel instruct members to log cases of supposed “anti-white” hate, which they say includes a statement on the police force’s website that “young men aged 18-30 are most likely to commit hate crime”.

“This public targeting of a group deeply offended us and thus we will report it as a racially motivated hate crime,” the channel administrator wrote.

Messages have also been posted directing the group’s 284 members to mass report tweets from members of the public, including one from a former local councillor who said that those most impacted by hate crime were “people of colour, disabled people, LGBT+ people, because it’s probably happened to them”. The administrator of the “hate crime reporting” group said the message was “offensive” and “singled out white men as evil”.

What's funny is that the routes look like they might have been much wider back when they were used by wooden waggons, and as though when modern workmen improved them, they just dug down and heaped the spoil along the sides, accidentally covering walls and giant curbstones as they went.

Army Corps of Engineers Unveils Plan to Raise the Embarcadero as Much as 7 Feet for Rising Sea Levels

 

Since we as a society are basically giving up and letting climate change happen, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Port of SF have released their plan to raise SF’s shoreline by as much as seven feet in response to the inevitable climate floods.

 

In a city where it took seven years and about $350 million just to put some red-painted bus lanes on Van Ness Avenue, the notion that we could physically raise eight miles of our shoreline by as much as seven feet to prepare for climate-related sea-level rise seems simply undoable. But it helps when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is in on the planning, and the United States Congress is footing most of the bill.

 

And that is the case, as the city confronts its need to raise the city’s downtown shoreline to prepare for rising sea levels. The Army Corps of Engineers and the Port of San Francisco unveiled their draft plan today to raise SF’s shoreline levels. It’s 252 pages long, and you can read the whole thing here. Or for some lighter reading, the Chronicle has summarized the highlights.

The plan breaks the city’s eastern shoreline down into four parts. The most challenging section is the Embarcadero and Ferry Building area (little red arrows), where the shoreline would have to be raised by as much as seven feet, otherwise we’d see cataclysmic flooding damage in major downtown areas. Various floodproofing efforts would also be necessary in Fisherman’s Wharf, Potrero Point, and Islais Creek areas.

 

The Embarcadero and Ferry Building components are obviously the most disruptive, and would entail basically rebuilding the entire Embarcadero roadway, moving all utilities underneath it, and closing the Ferry Building (plus possibly other nearby buildings) for extensive periods of time.

 

 

“The (Embarcadero) waterfront will inevitably shut down for a period of time. That’s going to happen,” Port of San Francisco Water Resilience Program director Brad Benson told the Chronicle. Though he added,“We’re thrilled that the Army Corps has embraced a plan that will protect the Ferry Building for future generations.”

 

Under this draft plan, the shoreline would also be raised by lesser amounts at several spots south of the Bay Bridge. There is also talk of temporary berms to use as water barriers in extreme flooding situations.

 

The summary of the draft plan notes that the plan “has an initial approximate cost of $13 billion,” but that “If the project is approved by Congress after this period of input and further development, the federal government would pay 65% of the cost.” Okay, red flags! “If” approved by Congress? Sounds like this depends on the Republicans not being in control on Congress for an extended period. And factor in also that nothing in this town is ever done on schedule or close to budget.

 

Even locally, there may not be the political will to shut the Ferry Building or parts of downtown for lengthy periods. This draft plan assumes everyone is on board with taking sea-level rise seriously enough to make sacrifices, which right now seems unlikely to be the case.

 

Unless maybe some sea-level disasters hit close enough to home first. And in that scenario, there will already be a massive human and financial toll.

So its hardly surprising that the events of Sept 11 2001 have spawned their fair share of these ludicrous fairy tales. And as always, there is—sadly—a small but gullible percentage of the population eager to lap up these tall tales, regardless of facts or rational analysis.

 

One of the wilder stories circulating about Sept 11, and one that has attracted something of a cult following amongst conspiracy buffs is that it was carried out by 19 fanatical Arab hijackers, masterminded by an evil genius named Osama bin Laden, with no apparent motivation other than that they “hate our freedoms.”

Normally I don’t even bother debunking this kind of junk, but the effect that this paranoid myth is beginning to have requires a little rational analysis, in order to consign it to the same rubbish bin as all such silly conspiracy theories.

 

These crackpots even contend that the extremist Bush regime was caught unawares by the attacks, had no hand in organizing them, and actually would have stopped them if it had been able. Blindly ignoring the stand down of the US air-force, the insider trading on airline stocks—linked to the CIA, the complicit behavior of Bush on the morning of the attacks, the controlled demolition of the WTC, the firing of a missile into the Pentagon and a host of other documented proofs that the Bush regime was behind the attacks, the conspiracy theorists stick doggedly to a silly story about 19 Arab hijackers somehow managing to commandeer 4 planes simultaneously and fly them around US airspace for nearly 2 hours ,crashing them into important buildings, without the US intelligence services having any idea that it was coming, and without the Air Force knowing what to do.

 

The huge difficulties with such a stupid story force them to invent even more preposturous stories to distract from its core silliness, and thus the tale has escalated into a mythic fantasy of truly gargantuan proportions.

 

It’s difficult to apply rational analysis to such unmitigated stupidity, but that is the task which I take on in this article. However, it should be noted that one of the curious characteristics of conspiracy theorists is that they effortlessly change their so called evidence in response to each aspect which is debunked. As soon as one delusion is unmasked, they simply invent another to replace it, and deny that the first ever existed.

 

Eventually, when they have turned full circle through this endlessly changing fantasy fog , they then re-invent the original delusion and deny that you ever debunked it, thus beginning the circle once more. This technique is known as “the fruit loop” and saves the conspiracy theorist from ever having to see any of their ideas through to their (ill)logical conclusions.

 

According to the practitioners of the fruit loop, 19 Arabs took over the 4 planes by subduing the passengers and crew through the use of guns,knives,box cutters and gas, and then used electronic guidance systems which they had smuggled on board to fly the planes to their targets.

 

The suspension of disbelief required for this outrageous concoction is only for the hard core conspiracy theorist. For a start, they conveniently skip over the awkward fact that there weren’t any Arabs on the planes. If there were, one must speculate that they somehow got on board without being filmed by any of the security cameras and without being registered on the passenger lists. But the curly question of how they are supposed to have got on board is all too mundane for the exciting world of the conspiracy theorist.

Asking any of these basic questions to a conspiracy theorist is likely to cause a sudden leap to the claim that we know that they were on board because they left a credit card trail for the tickets they had purchased and cars they had rented. So if they used credit cards that identified them, how does that reconcile with the claim that they used false IDs to get on to the plane? But by this time ,the fruit loop is in full swing, as the conspiracy theorist tries to stay one jump ahead of this annoying and awkward rational analysis.They will allege that the hijackers’ passports were found at the crash scenes. “So there!” they exalt triumphantly, their fanatical faces lighting up with that deranged look of one who has just a revelation of questionable sanity.

 

Hmm? So they got on board with false IDs but took their real passports with them? However, by this time the fruit loop has been completely circumnavigated,and the conspiracy theorist exclaims impatiently, “Who said anything about false IDs? We know what seats they were sitting in! Their presence is well documented!” And so the whole loop starts again. “Well, why aren’t they on the passenger lists?”

 

“You numbskull! They assumed the identities of other passengers!” And so on…

 

Finally, out of sheer fascination with this circular method of creative delusion , the rational sceptic will allow them to get away with this loop, in order to move on to the next question, and see what further delights await us in the unraveling of this marvelously stupid story.

 

“Uh, how come their passports survived fiery crashes that completely incinerated the planes and all the passengers?” The answer of course is that its just one of those strange co-incidences, those little quirks of fate that do happen from time to time. You know, like the same person winning the lottery four weeks in a row. The odds are astronomical, but these things do happen…

The “improbability drive,” in which they decide upon a conclusion without any evidence whatsoever to support it, and then continually speculate a series of wildly improbable events and unbelievable co-incidences to support it, shrugging off the implausibility of each event with the vague assertion that sometimes the impossible happens (just about all the time in their world).

Hijacking a plane is not an easy thing to do. Hijacking it without the pilot being able to alert ground control is near impossible. The pilot has only to punch in a four digit code to alert ground control to a hijacking.

 

Unconcerned with the awkward question of plausibility, the conspiracy buffs maintain that on that Sept 11, the invisible hijackers took over the plane by the rather crude method of threatening people with boxcutters and knives, and spraying gas (after they had attached their masks, obviously), but somehow took control of the plane without the crew first getting a chance to punch in the hijacking code. Not just on one plane, but on all four. At this point in the tale, the conspiracy theorist is again forced to call upon the services of the improbability drive.

This also requires us to believe that they were even clear headed enough to learn how to fly the huge planes by reading flight manuals in Arabic in the car on the way to the airport. We know this because they supposedly left the flight manuals there for us to find.

 

It gets better. Their practical training had allegedly been limited to Cessnas and flight simulators, but this was no barrier to the unflinching certainty with which they took over the planes and skillfully guided them to their doom. If they are supposed to have done their flight training with these tools, which would be available just about anywhere in the world, its not clear why they would have decided to risk blowing their cover to US intelligence services by doing the training in Florida, rather than somewhere in the Middle East, but such reasoning is foreign to the foggy world of the conspiracy theorist , too trapped in the constant rotation of the mental fruit loop to make their unsubstantiated fabrications seem even semi-believable.

 

Having triumphantly established a circular delusion in support of the mythical Arabs, the conspiracy theorist now confronts the difficult question of why there’s nothing left of the planes. Anybody who has seen the endlessly replayed footage of the second plane going into the WTC will realize that the plane was packed with explosives. Planes do not and cannot blow up into nothing in that manner when they crash.

 

Did the mythical Arabs also haul a huge heap of explosives on board, and mange to deploy them in such a manner that they went off in the exact instant of the crash, completely vapourizing the plane? This is a little difficult even for the conspiracy theorist, who at this point decides that its easier to invent new laws of physics in order to keep the delusion rolling along.

 

There weren’t any explosives. It wasn’t an inside job. The plane blew up into nothing from its exploding fuel load! Remarkable! Sluggishly combustible jet fuel which is basically kerosine,and which burns at a maximum temperature of around 800 C has suddenly taken on the qualities of a ferociously explosive demolition agent, vapourizing 65 tons of aircraft into a puff of smoke. Never mind that a plane of that size contains around 15 tons of steel and titanium, of which even the melting points are about double that of the maximum combustion temperature of kerosine—let alone the boiling point—which is what would be required to vapourize a plane.

 

And then there’s about 50 tons of aluminium to be accounted for. In excess of 15lbs of metal for each gallon of kerosine.

 

For the conspiracy theorist, such inconvenient facts are vaguely dismissed as “mumbo jumbo”. This convenient little phrase is their answer to just about anything factual or logical. Like a conjurer pulling a rabbit out of a hat, they suddenly become fanatically insistent about the devastating explosive qualities of kerosine, something hitherto completely unknown to science, but just discovered by them, this very minute. Blissfully ignoring the fact that never before or since in aviation history has a plane vapourized into nothing from an exploding fuel load, the conspiracy theorist relies upon Hollywood images, where the effects are are always larger than life, and certainly larger than the intellects of these cretins.

 

“Its a well known fact that planes blow up into nothing on impact.” they state with pompous certainty. “Watch any Bruce Willis movie.”

He promoted the article in a tweet, concluding, “The Vatican endangers its moral authority, should it renew the deal.”

 

An indignant Vatican took the article more as a calculated affront than a diplomatic gesture. The friction broke into the open on Wednesday as Mr. Pompeo arrived in Rome and met with prelates and others who are hostile to Pope Francis, while the Vatican denied him a meeting with the pontiff and rebuffed his efforts to derail the deal with China.

 

“Pompeo asked to meet” the pope, who turned him down because Francis had “clearly said that he does not receive political figures ahead of the elections,” Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who, as secretary of state, is the Vatican’s second-ranking official, told reporters.

 

But to some observers on both sides of the tensions between the Roman Catholic Church and the Trump administration, Mr. Pompeo’s visit is as much about the coming presidential election as about China policy. Mr. Pompeo dismissed that suggestion as absurd, but intended or not, his trip signals that President Trump is on the side of those conservative American Catholics who worry about the church’s direction under Francis and think he is soft on China.

 

Francis and Mr. Trump, who have exchanged sharp words in the past, present starkly different visions on issues ranging from the environment to immigration to the threat of populism. China's 'Shock' Statement: Palestinians Have Right To Use 'Armed Force' Against Israel

China has backed the right of the Palestinian people to use armed force to combat Israel's occupation of their land, calling it an "an inalienable right well founded in international law".

The comments on Thursday were made by the Chinese ambassador to the UN, Zhang Jun, during the fourth day of public hearings held by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Representatives of 52 countries are addressing the ICJ on Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land.

Beijing’s envoy said there were "various people (who) freed themselves from colonial rule" and they could use "all available means, including armed struggle".

He described the Palestinian use of armed resistance as legitimate and not an act of terrorism.

 

"The struggle waged by peoples for their liberation, right to self-determination, including armed struggle against colonialism, occupation, aggression, domination against foreign forces should not be considered terror acts," Zhang Jun told the court.

 

In his speech, Jun criticized Israeli policies, characterizing them as “oppression that has severely undermined and impeded the exercises and full realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination".

The ICJ’s public hearings, which will be held until February 26, come after a UN General Assembly resolution requesting an ICJ advisory opinion.

The number of states participating in the oral proceedings is the highest of any case since the ICJ's establishment in 1945 and is separate to the more publicized genocide case brought by South Africa. A panel of 15 judges are expected to take about six months to deliberate before issuing an advisory opinion.

Besides China, other countries scheduled to participate in the hearings include Hungary, France, South Africa and Egypt.

International bodies, including the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union will also take part. Israel will not participate but has sent written observations to the court.

But the hurdles which confront the conspiracy theorist are many, and they are now forced to implement even more creative uses for the newly discovered shockingly destructive qualities of kerosine. They have to explain how the Arabs also engineered the elegant veritcal collapse of both the WTC towers, and for this awkward fact the easiest counter is to simply deny that it was a controlled demolition, and claim that the buildings collapsed from fire caused by the burning kerosine.

 

For this, its necessary to sweep aside the second law of thermodynamics and propose kerosine which is not only impossibly destructive, but also recycles itself for a second burning in violation of the law of degradation of energy. This kerosine really is remarkable stuff! How chilling to realize that those kerosine heaters we had in the house when I was a kid were deadly bombs, just waiting to go off. One false move and the entire street might have been vapourized. And never again will I take kerosine lamps out camping. One moment you’re there innocently holding the lamp—the next—kapow!

 

Vapourized into nothing along with with the rest of the camp site, and still leaving enough of the deadly stuff to start a massive forest fire.

 

These whackos are actually claiming that the raging inferno allegedly created by the miraculously recycling, and impossibly hot burning kerosine melted or at least softened the steel supports of the skyscraper.

 

Oblivious to the fact that the smoke coming from the WTC was black, which indicates an oxygen starved fire -therefore, not particularly hot, they trumpet an alleged temperature in the building of 2000 C , without a shred of evidence to support this curious suspension of the laws of physics.

 

Not content with this ludicrous garbage, they then contend that as the steel frames softened, they came straight down instead of buckling and twisting and falling sideways.

 

Since they’re already re-engineered the combustion qualities of jet fuel, violated the second law of thermodynamics, and re-defined the structural properties of steel, why let a little thing like the laws of gravity get in the way?

 

The tower fell in a time almost identical to that of a free falling object, dropped from that height, meaning that its physically impossible for it to have collapsed by the method of the top floors smashing through the lower floors. But according to the conspiracy theorists, the laws of gravity were temporarily suspended on the morning of Sept 11. It appears that the evil psychic power of those dreadful Arabs knew no bounds. Even after they were dead, they were able, by the power of their evil spirits, to force down the tower at a speed physically impossible under the laws of gravity, had it been meeting any resistance from fireproofed steel structures originally designed to resist many tons of hurricane force wind as well as the impact of a Boeing passenger jet straying off course.

 

Clearly, these conspiracy nuts never did their science homework at school, but did become extremely adept at inventing tall tales for why.
