If that's the case, then the the statute of limitations goes out the door, and that's why I believe. It's important for them to go forward on a RICO case because as they link all of these individuals and they can show whether the statute of limitations for those particular crimes have gone, right? Let's say they've passed, but they can show that 2 or more people were involved in these crimes for the purpose of furthering their criminal enterprise. That's a RICO charge.

And so when you can show all these people were doing this and the purpose for which they were doing it, if that leads to things like treason, insurrection, subversion, then, then we are in territory we've never been before and the statute of limitations, I don't believe will apply because it's it it supersedes what the actual crime was and it goes over to the furtherance of a criminal enterprise for the purpose of subversion. Or treason or so on and so forth.

-They want to move conversations to private messaging channels like Signal or WeChat.

-At first, they might only ask for publicly available information, but gradually insist on more sensitive or classified information.

-Offer to pay you MORE money for NON-PUBLIC information.

-Want you to recruit others with more or different access than you have.

-You try to cut off contact, but they keep messaging you.

-They ask you to sign a receipt for payment.

The disclosure of national defense information could place the national security of the United States at risk. It can reveal our country’s security posture against foreign invasion, endanger our military personnel, erode our economic security, undermine U.S. intelligence operations, and take away our negotiating advantage.

Report suspicious behaviors and contacts you suspect could be from a foreign adversary.

FDA Warns Public Over Potentially Radioactive Walmart Shrimp

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday told the U.S. public not to eat, sell, or serve certain imported Walmart frozen shrimp produced by an Indonesian company because it may have been exposed to a radioactive material.

Health officials said in a statement that it is investigating reports of Cesium-137 contamination in shipping containers as well as shrimp products that were processed by Indonesia-based PT. Bahari Makmur Sejati, also known as BMS Food.

The shrimp was sold in Walmart locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia, according to a notice from the FDA.

“If you recently purchased one of the impacted lots of Great Value raw frozen shrimp from Walmart, throw it away,” the FDA said in the notice. “Do not eat or serve this product.”

Retailers and distributors in the United States are also advised to dispose of the frozen shrimp product and should not serve it, the agency added.

The FDA also advised people who believe they may have been exposed to Cesium-137, a radioactive isotope of the element cesium that can increase the risk of cancer in people, that they should speak with a health care provider.

Cesium-137 is a byproduct of nuclear reactions, including nuclear bombs, testing, reactor operations, and accidents. It’s widespread around the world, with trace amounts found in the environment, including soil, food, and air.

Ukrainian Man Arrested Over Nord Stream Pipeline Attacks

BERLIN, Aug 21 (Reuters) – A Ukrainian man has been arrested in Italy on suspicion of coordinating the 2022 attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, German prosecutors said on Thursday, marking a breakthrough in an episode that sharpened tensions between Russia and the West.

Seen by both Moscow and the West as an act of sabotage, the explosions severely damaged three pipelines carrying gas from Russia to Europe, prompting a major escalation in the Ukraine conflict and squeezing energy supplies on the continent. No one has ever taken responsibility for the blasts.

The arrest comes just as Kyiv is engaged in fraught diplomatic discussions with the United States over how to end the war in Ukraine without giving away major concessions and swathes of its own territory to Russia.

Successive Ukrainian governments had seen the pipelines as a symbol of, and vehicle for, Russia’s hold over European energy supplies that Kyiv argued made it hard to act against Moscow ever since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014.

Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, triggering Europe’s deadliest conflict in 80 years, in which analysts say more than 1 million people have been killed or injured.

“The bombing of the pipelines must be investigated, including through criminal prosecution. Therefore, it is good that we are making progress in this regard,” said German Justice Minister Stefanie Hubig in a statement.

An official in the Ukrainian president’s office said he could not comment as it was not clear who had been arrested. The official reiterated Ukraine’s denial of any role in the blasts.

The suspect, identified only as Serhii K. under German privacy laws, was part of a group of people who planted devices on the pipelines near the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea, a statement from the prosecutor’s office said.

He and his accomplices had set off from Rostock on Germany’s northeastern coast in a sailing yacht to carry out the attack, it said. The vessel had been rented from a German company with the help of forged identity documents via middlemen, it added.

Authorities acted on a European arrest warrant for the suspect, who faces charges of collusion to cause an explosion, anti-constitutional sabotage and destruction of important structures.

Carabinieri officers arrested him overnight in the province of Rimini on Italy’s Adriatic coast, the German prosecutors’ statement said.

The Italian Carabinieri confirmed the arrest and said the suspect was aged 49 but gave no further details.

MYSTERIOUS BLASTS

In September 2022, one of the two lines of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline was damaged by mysterious blasts, along with both lines of Nord Stream 1 that carried Russian gas to Europe.

Both the U.S. and Ukraine have denied having anything to do with the attacks, as has Russia. Moscow, without providing evidence, blamed Western sabotage for the blasts, which largely severed Russian gas supplies to the lucrative European market.

Denmark and Sweden closed their investigations in February 2024, leaving Germany as the only country continuing to pursue the case.

Danish authorities concluded there was “deliberate sabotage of the gas pipelines” but found “insufficient grounds to pursue a criminal case,” while Sweden closed its investigation citing a lack of jurisdiction.

The Washington Post and Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine have previously said the team that carried out the attack was put together by a former Ukrainian intelligence officer, who has denied involvement.

In January 2023, Germany raided a ship that it said may have been used to transport explosives and told the United Nations it believed trained divers could have attached devices to the pipelines at about 70 to 80 meters deep.

The boat, leased in Germany via a Poland-registered company, contained traces of octogen, the same explosive that was found at the underwater blast sites, according to the investigations by Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

German media reported last year that Germany had issued a European arrest warrant against a Ukrainian diving instructor who allegedly was part of the team that blew up the pipelines.

Citing unnamed sources, several outlets reported that German investigators believed the man, last known to have lived in Poland, was one of the divers who planted explosive devices on the pipelines.

Military attorneys are being sent to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District as prosecutors look to add some extra legal muscle amid President Trump’s federal crackdown on crime in the nation’s capital.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office confirmed Thursday that 20 Judge Advocate Generals from the Department of Defense will join the prosecutor’s office next week.

It’s unclear how long the assignment will last, but the JAG lawyers are expected to handle misdemeanor civilian cases in the District.

“The assignment of 20 JAGs to my office is further proof of President Trump’s commitment to fighting and reducing crime in the District,” U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said in a statement.

The JAGs will begin training next week, according to NBC News, which first reported the development.

A Defense Department spokesperson said that the U.S. Attorney’s Office submitted a request for assistance to the Pentagon.

“Updates will be shared at the appropriate time, after decisions have been made,” the spokesperson said.

JAGs usually ensure military procedures comply with the law and offer legal advice to soldiers, but are now being used to help fill gaps in the District’s short-staffed U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Ms. Pirro told Fox News this month that her office is down 90 prosecutors as well as 60 investigators and paralegals. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District is the largest in the nation, and has the unique role of handling both federal and major local cases.

The JAGs provide some much-needed help amid hundreds of arrests made during Mr. Trump’s surge of federal agents throughout the city.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Thursday that authorities have tallied 630 arrests and seized close to 90 illegal guns in the 10 days since Mr. Trump commandeered the Metropolitan Police Department.

The range of charges for those who have been arrested includes homicide, robbery and drug trafficking.

A large portion of the federal arrests have been immigration-related.

On Wednesday, D.C. police and immigration agents tackled and handcuffed a man on the National Mall during a traffic stop. Social media videos showed the man yelling, in Spanish, that he’s “not a criminal, I work here, I want to be with my family.”

The footage went viral among liberal social media accounts until the Trump administration published the man’s criminal history.

The White House identified the man as Mexican national David Perez-Teofani, who had entered the country illegally three times, already had a final deportation order against him, and was charged in Fairfax County with sexually assaulting a minor under 13.

While D.C. leaders have disputed Mr. Trump’s federal intervention by citing police statistics showing a 30-year low in violence, the president has called into question the reliability of the data.

He also argued the District still has one of the highest murder and car theft rates in the nation.

Mr. Trump’s crime emergency can only last for another 20 days. Extending it would require Congressional approval, which is unlikely because that would need Democratic support.

The US Navy is Building a Drone Fleet to Take on China. It’s Not Going Well.

NEW YORK, Aug 20 (Reuters) – During a U.S. naval test off the California coast last month, which was designed to showcase the Pentagon’s top autonomous drone boats, one vessel stalled unexpectedly.

As officials scrambled to fix a software glitch, another drone vessel smashed into the idling boat’s starboard side, vaulted over the deck, and crashed back into the water – an incident captured in videos obtained by Reuters.

The previously unreported episode, which involved two vessels built by U.S. defense tech rivals Saronic and BlackSea Technologies, is one of a series of recent setbacks in the Pentagon’s push to build a fleet of autonomous vessels, according to a dozen people familiar with the program.

Weeks earlier, during a separate Navy test, the captain of a support boat was thrown into the water after another autonomous BlackSea vessel it was towing suddenly accelerated, capsizing the support boat, according to four people familiar with the matter. The captain was rescued and declined medical attention. The incident was first reported by Defense Scoop.

Both incidents stemmed from a combination of software failures and human error, including breakdowns in communication between onboard systems and external autonomous software, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter, who requested anonymity to share sensitive information.

The Navy, Saronic and BlackSea declined to comment on the incidents.

U.S. military leaders, seeing the outsized impact of maritime drones in the Ukraine war, have repeatedly said they need autonomous swarms of aerial and maritime drones to hinder a potential advance by China across the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan itself has begun acquiring its own maritime drones.

The drones being developed in Ukraine, which often look like speedboats without seats, and are capable of carrying weapons, explosives and surveillance equipment, are primarily remote-controlled and cost close to $250,000 – making them optimal for kamikaze missions that have effectively neutralized Russia’s Black Sea Fleet.

The U.S., meanwhile, is aiming to build an autonomous naval fleet that can move in swarms and without human command – a more ambitious task at a higher price point; as much as a few million dollars per speedboat.

The recent test failures highlight the challenges facing the Navy’s effort to deploy the nascent technologies, said Bryan Clark, an autonomous warfare expert at the Hudson Institute. It will need to adapt its “tactics as it better understands what the systems can do and what they can’t do.”

But the Navy’s problems go beyond getting the boats to work: its autonomous maritime drone acquisition unit has also been rocked by the firing of its top admiral, and a top Pentagon official voiced concerns about the program in a candid meeting with Navy brass last month, Reuters found.

Since the most recent incident, the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), which had acquired technology for the tests, has indefinitely paused a contract – valued close to $20 million – with L3Harris LHX.N, one of the companies providing autonomous software used to control some of the vessels, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The Pentagon did not respond to questions about the cause of the accidents or the L3Harris contract being paused, which has not been previously reported.

A Pentagon spokesperson said it conducted drone tests as part of a “competitive and iterative approach, between operators and industry.”

L3Harris declined to comment on the contract and directed questions to the DIU. The DIU declined to comment.

“L3Harris stands behind the safety, integrity and capability of our autonomy command-and-control product,” said Toby Magsig, who oversees L3Harris’ autonomous software products.

The U.S. Court of International Trade incredibly ruled against the United States of America on desperately needed Tariffs but, fortunately, the full 11 Judge Panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Court has just stayed the order by the Manhattan-based Court of International Trade.

Where do these initial three Judges come from? How is it possible for them to have potentially done such damage to the United States of America?

Madonna begs Pope Leo to visit Gaza 'before it’s too late'

Madonna has called on Pope Leo XIV to visit Gaza in order to "bring your light to the children before it's too late".

The US pop star, considered one of the most successful female solo acts of all time and who was born and raised as a Catholic, shared her plea on Instagram.

"Most Holy Father, please go to Gaza and bring your light to the children before it's too late. As a mother, I cannot bear to watch their suffering. The children of the world belong to everyone."

She added: "You are the only one of us who cannot be denied entry. We need the humanitarian gates to be fully opened to save these innocent children.

"There is no more time. Please say you will go. Love, Madonna."

Her comments come after an Italian Catholic priest who has been harshly critical of Israel’s war in Gaza was denied entry to Israel and placed on a flight from Tel Aviv to Greece, reports The Times of Israel.

Father Nandino Capovilla, 63, a priest in Marghera, near Venice, landed at Ben Gurion Airport on 11 August to take part in a “Pilgrimage of Justice” organised by the Catholic peace movement Pax Christi.

Capovilla was reportedly stopped at border control and eventually given a form to sign, which stated that he could not enter Israel for reasons related to security or public order.

Israel has faced mounting pressure over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, with experts last month warning that "the worst-case scenario of famine" was playing out in the conflict zone, the BBC reports.

It notes that Madonna's plea comes as the UK, EU, Australia, Canada and Japan issued a statement saying "famine is unfolding in front of our eyes", while the nations urged action to "reverse starvation".

Last week, the BBC notes, the UN's humanitarian agency said the amount of aid entering Gaza continued to be "far below the minimum required". The agency said it continued to experience impediments and delays as it tries to collect aid from Israeli-controlled border zones.

In July, Pope Leo said that he is following the humanitarian crisis in Gaza with “great concern” while also renewing his “heartfelt appeal for a ceasefire”.

The Pope described how the civilian population in Gaza is being “crushed by hunger and continues to be exposed to violence and death”.

In a subsequent comment to her original Instagram post calling on the Pope, Madonna said: "Politics Cannot affect Change. Only consciousness can. Therefore I am Reaching out to a Man of God."

She went on to say: "I am not pointing fingers, placing blame or taking sides. Everyone is suffering. Including the mothers of the hostages. I pray that they are released as well."
