President Trump:

 

I did this work a while ago, the POTUS is the "sole" organizer in all foreign affairs, embargos, and contracts of which a tariff is a contract and an international agreement. This is already a precedent and if they rule against tariffs then they should all be tried in a Military court for sedition and as a form of insurrection. Even if that doesn't happen, they still will have to deal with a promise. This is not a game, and our Country has been ripped off to the point of collapse. For God and Country, at all costs!!!

Justice George Sutherland, writing for the majority, emphasized that the President has the exclusive authority to conduct foreign relations due to the need for secrecy, dispatch, and unity in international matters, which Congress and the courts cannot effectively provide.

This principle was further reinforced in subsequent cases, such as United States v. Belmont (1937), where the Court upheld the President's power to enter international compacts without Senate approval, reinforcing the idea that the President's role in foreign affairs is both unique and constitutionally grounded.

The Court's reasoning in Curtiss-Wright has been cited repeatedly to support broad executive authority in foreign policy, including the power to enforce embargoes and manage international agreements.

He said that farmers are reducing land where crops are grown due to commodities prices that have gone in the tank. Fertilizer, chemical, and machinery costs have risen 300% over a short period of time. A Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew rescued a stranded surfer, Friday, following an extensive multi-agency search effort near Surfer’s Beach in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

The 68-year-old male was in stable condition and safely transported to awaiting emergency medical service personnel at the air station.

“What a terrific outcome!” said Capt. Robert Stiles, the deputy sector commander of Coast Guard Sector San Juan and search and rescue mission coordinator for this case. “We activated the inter-agency search and rescue effort as soon as we received the information, especially after realizing that it had been more than 24 hours. It was truly a team effort and I appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism of Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen, the Sector San Juan Command Center and our local emergency responders. This case could have easily had a different outcome. We urge all mariners and anyone entering the water to have a plan, communicate your intentions with someone and wear all proper life saving equipment.”

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Juan received notification on the evening of 09 January of a person reported missing from an Airbnb host after not returning to the home for more than 24 hours. Information later provided by his daughter confirmed that the 68-year-old male had gone surfing in the vicinity of Surfer’s Beach, Aguadilla at noon on 08 January and had not been heard from since, prompting the Coast Guard to enter the distress phase and issue an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast.

Coast Guard watchstanders coordinated with the Puerto Rico Police Department, Joint Forces of Rapid Action (FURA), U.S. Border Patrol, and local emergency responders while launching a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Borinquen to conduct shoreline and offshore searches north of Aguadilla. FURA maritime assets and local authorities simultaneously conducted shoreline and offshore searches in the area.

During their shoreline search, the helicopter crew spotted an individual matching the description of the missing surfer stranded on rocks outside Surfer’s Beach, next to a surfboard and attempting to signal the aircraft. Due to surrounding rocks, reefs, and sea conditions, the location was inaccessible by foot or boat. The aircrew conducted a flawless hoist operation and safely recovered the individual aboard the aircraft despite difficult nighttime conditions and low visibility.

Most US Debanking Cases Stem From Government Pressure, Report Says

 

Cato Institute analyst Nicholas Anthony argues the US Congress needs to reform the Bank Secrecy Act, repeal confidentiality laws and end reputational risk regulation to address debanking.

 

The majority of debanking cases in the US are a result of government pressure, rather than individual banks’ policies, according to a new report from the American think tank the Cato Institute.

 

Cato Institute analyst Nicholas Anthony explained in a report on Thursday that debanking could take several forms: religious or political, the idea that a financial institution closes accounts solely due to political or religious belief or affiliation; operational, when a bank chooses to close a customer’s account as it’s no longer in the bank’s interest; or government, when a government pressures a financial institution to close a customer’s account.

 

“While media and political narratives often attribute these closures to political or religious discrimination, this study finds that the majority of debanking cases stem from governmental pressure,” he said.

“Based on public evidence, governmental debanking appears to be the most significant issue majority of cases over time can be found where government officials have intervened in the market by either directly or indirectly telling banks how to run their business.”

Crypto firms have been facing account closures and denials of banking services for years, and many in the industry have speculated these actions are part of a policy-driven effort to suppress the digital assets sector, particularly by the Biden administration.

 

Two forms of government debanking

Anthony said government debanking can take two forms: direct, when it uses a letter or court order to order an account closure, or indirect, when lawmakers use regulations and legislation to force an account closure.

 

He cites the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation sending letters to financial institutions ordering them to halt crypto-related activity as an example of direct action.

 

“Furthermore, the agency failed to provide a timeline or follow up with those financial institutions. So, in practice, these letters were effectively termination orders,” Anthony added.

 

In December, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon denied debanking customers based on their religious or political affiliation during an interview with Fox News. He also claimed both sides of politics in the US, Democrats and Republicans, were equal offenders when it came to leaning on banks to debank people.

 

In November, Jack Mallers, the CEO of the Bitcoin Lightning Network payments company Strike, accused JPMorgan of closing his personal accounts without explanation, and Houston Morgan, the head of marketing at non-custodial crypto trading platform ShapeShift, shared a similar story the same month.
