Autism enhances characteristics such as loyalty and focus which help those with the condition at work and in their relationships with others, experts have found.

A study examining the lives of autistic adults shows the traits which come with having the condition can be useful, but also a burden.

Those who took part in the research said they are able to hyperfocus, show attention to detail, had good memory, and were creative. They also said having autism made them more honest, loyal, and increased their empathy for animals and other autistic people.

Researchers from the University of Exeter conducted 28 interviews with autistic adults to explore the impact the condition has had on their life.

All of those who took part in the Wellcome Trust-funded research survey had received a clinical diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder. Around over a quarter lived independently and were receiving low-level support, a quarter had mid-level support such as a live-in carer and a quarter were receiving high-level support, in full-time residential care.

Overall, most participants talked about autism as a set of qualities they possessed rather than an "illness" they had. Many said they perceived the world differently and had different mental abilities. Some described their exceptional memory in graphic detail, with one saying it was like a "small tape recorder in my head". Another participant said they would "remember conversations word-for-word". Some participants said they had hyper perception of colour and shape.

The ability to focus was mentioned by almost all participants, variously described as "like zooming in", and "unwavering focus". Participants who were employed or at university described their ability to "concentrate" or "hyperfocus" on one task to the exclusion of all else as a huge benefit. This skill was described as tenacity or perseverance, but it could also cause anxiety or exhaustion.

Participants described themselves as compassionate and empathetic towards animals or "for others on the spectrum". Participants said they were open and this was beneficial, but this became a problem when taken too far. Other autistic traits were reliability, integrity and a hatred of lies, as well as an "extreme sense of justice".

Dr. Ginny Russell, who led the research, said: "People told us autistic traits can be advantageous or disadvantageous, dependent on the context, including circumstance, perspective, and the extent to which they were under their control. Trying to separate traits as if they were either problematic or advantageous may be misguided.

"Talking more about the positive impact of autism may help to foster a more rounded vocabulary in autism discourse for clinicians, autistic individuals, and their families."

First off, no one should be using Windows 10. If you like Windows get an older one like Windows 2000, Vista or XP and make sure you turn OFF all automatic updates in the settings. Make sure you do not leave it online 24/7 either (leaving the OS online when not in use makes it much more vulnerable). There are also programs out there you can install that will completely remove all auto-updates for Windows if you are too lazy to change the settings.

If you want to switch to Linux you can install "Wine" and run Windows executives right from your Linux OS. Depending on which OS you partition (such as Q4OS) this will mimick an older version of Windows. Q4OS is what I recommend because you can install Wine and the OS replicates Windows XP, looking almost exactly the same!

Second, which is VERY important, users should be using a private VPN service in this day and age. No reason not to. Get off your lazy ass, buy a cheap private VPN (these can cost as low as $30 PER YEAR), and shield yourself by encrypting your communications and spoofing your IPs. Its easy and even us boomers can learn how to do it, I did.

Third: always have physical offline backups of any of your important files (this includes ISOs of the OS you use, software you may use and any media or other files you deem valuable).

Make sure you have access to several P2P clients and a Bit Torrent client in order to share media if websites start going down.

After the verdict, Lauer said he was “deeply disappointed.” Teganya is scheduled to be sentenced on July 1.

Prosecutors said at the time of the violence, Teganya was a medical student at a hospital in the southern Rwandan city of Butare and was active in the political party that helped perpetrate the genocide. The genocide, carried out by Hutus from the ruling MRND party, followed the shooting down by unknown gunmen of a plane carrying the then-presidents of Rwanda and neighboring Burundi. Prosecutors, citing witnesses, alleged that during the course of the genocide, Teganya led Hutu soldiers through the hospital to identify Tutsi patients who were then killed. He also personally participated in the killing and raping of Tutsis, prosecutors said. He left Rwanda in mid-July 1994 and traveled through Congo, Kenya and India before arriving in Canada in 1999, prosecutors said.

Anons, my father is a quaker pastor. As I was visiting my parents tonight, he told me about a website that was just taken down. He said I came right in time. His dream was about a great authoritative teacher that was an old and great bible scholar. Something set him off and he went after my dad. My dad is very outspoken about what is going on and I keep him filled in on the Q boards so he shares a water downed version with his church while he is in the pulpit. In his dream, the great teacher transformed into a demon and started to go after my dad. He had a wife that was asking for help to get her husband under control but no one would help her. The demon grabbed him by the arm and my dad was trying to scream. This is what I was hearing when my mom and I were in the kitchen. He said that is the closest he ever came to losing his faith because he was trying to call out to Jesus and couldn't. His last words before he woke up were "all is lost". Just thought I would share. PARIS (Reuters) - President Emmanuel Macron has appointed researchers to carry out a two-year investigation into the role of the French army in the Rwandan genocide that is still a source of tension between Paris and Kigali 25 years later. The nine-member commission will have access to presidential, diplomatic, military and intelligence archives, the French presidency said on Friday, after Macron met members of an association supporting survivors of the genocide. “The goal is to deliver a report which will be published in two years time … and will be accessible to all. It will scientifically evaluate, on the basis of archives, the role that France played in Rwanda from 1990 to 1994,” the presidency said.

Macron’s predecessor François Hollande declassified presidential archives on the subject in 2015, but researchers have complained that only a fraction of the classified documents have surfaced and say a conclusive account on the role played by France is yet to be produced.

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has accused Paris of being complicit in the bloodshed in which Hutu militias killed around 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus. While Paris has acknowledged mistakes in its dealings with Rwanda, it has repeatedly dismissed accusations that it trained militias to take part in the massacre.

However, during a visit to Rwanda in 2010, then president Nicolas Sarkozy, did acknowledge France made “a serious error of judgment, a sort of blindness when we didn’t foresee the genocidal dimensions of the government”. The two countries broke off diplomatic ties in 2006 after a Paris judge accused Kagame and nine aides of shooting down former president Juvenal Habyarimana’s plane in April 1994 — the catalyst for the massacre. Rwanda rejected the charges. During that 2010 trip, Sarkozy also said a French rescue mission in under a U.N. mandate to provide safe zones, had been too little and too late. The killing started in April 1994, and the French arrived in June.

The two countries eventually restored diplomatic ties in November 2009, but Rwanda has long called on Paris to pursue genocide fugitives living on French soil. The presidential statement said the French court dealing with Rwandan genocide cases would receive additional resources to speed up the judicial process.

The announcement of commission comes against the backdrop of commemorations marking 25 years since the genocide. The French president will not attend official commemorations of the massacre on Sunday. Michigan government to create “thought criminal” database to flag those who contradict all official lies

(Natural News) Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel – who, for all intents and purposes, looks suspiciously like a transgender – has decided to launch a full-scale crusade against the First Amendment.

According to reports, Nessel is planning to create a “hate crime unit” as part of Michigan’s government, the purpose of which won’t necessarily be to prosecute “hate crimes” – which aren’t a real thing anyway, by the way – but to actually police the speech and thoughts of Michigan residents to make sure they align with official government ideology.

The United States has decided not to send warships or senior military officers to celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of China’s People’s Liberation Army Navy later this month, a snub by Washington even as U.S. allies Japan and South Korea are expected to send their own vessels and officials.

Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Dave Eastburn told The Japan Times on Friday that the U.S. Embassy in Beijing’s defense attache office would instead represent the United States at the fleet review and a symposium in the eastern port city of Qingdao from April 22 to 25.

“The U.S. government seeks a bilateral relationship that is results-oriented and focused on risk reduction,” Eastburn said. “The U.S. Navy will continue to pursue its primary goal of constructive, risk-reduction focused, discourse with the PLAN.”

Eastburn added that this would include continued engagement with the Chinese Navy “through established military-to-military dialogues, such as the Military Maritime Consultative Agreement working groups and Rules of Behavior discussions.”

China’s Defense Ministry announced last week that more than 60 countries will send naval delegations to participate in a multinational event on April 23. This will include a fleet review inspection featuring naval vessels from a number of countries such as South Korea, the Philippines and Japan.

Japanese Defense Minister Takeshi Iwakya said last month that the Maritime Self-Defense Force would send a destroyer to visit from April 21 to 26, the first visit to the country by an MSDF vessel in seven years amid thawing Sino-Japanese ties. Tokyo is also considering participation by the MSDF chief of staff in the event.

Media reports have also said that France and Russia could even send aircraft carriers, though this has not been confirmed by Paris or Moscow.

The fleet review parade is expected to be larger than last year’s, the country’s largest since 1949. Last year’s parade was overseen by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The system’s failure to “live up” to its rule book can then be used to discredit it altogether, and to replace the capitalist “rule book” with a socialist one.

The authors noted that the number of Americans subsisting on welfare — about 8 million, at the time — probably represented less than half the number who were technically eligible for full benefits. They proposed a “massive drive to recruit the poor onto the welfare rolls.” Cloward and Piven calculated that persuading even a fraction of potential welfare recipients to demand their entitlements would bankrupt the system. The result, they predicted, would be “a profound financial and political crisis” that would unleash “powerful forces … for major economic reform at the national level.”

Their article called for “cadres of aggressive organizers” to use “demonstrations to create a climate of militancy.” Intimidated by threats of black violence, politicians would appeal to the federal government for help. Carefully orchestrated media campaigns, carried out by friendly, leftwing journalists, would float the idea of “a federal program of income redistribution,” in the form of a guaranteed living income for all — working and non-working people alike. Local officials would clutch at this idea like drowning men to a lifeline. They would apply pressure on Washington to implement it. With every major city erupting into chaos, Washington would have to act.

This was an example of what are commonly called Trojan Horse movements — mass movements whose outward purpose seems to be providing material help to the downtrodden, but whose real objective is to draft poor people into service as revolutionary foot soldiers; to mobilize poor people en masse to overwhelm government agencies with a flood of demands beyond the capacity of those agencies to meet. The flood of demands was calculated to break the budget, jam the bureaucratic gears into gridlock, and bring the system crashing down. Fear, turmoil, violence and economic collapse would accompany such a breakdown — providing perfect conditions for fostering radical change. That was the theory.
