When confronted with the unknown, observe what evidence is presented.

15 Types of Evidence

1. Analogical Evidence

While not a kind of evidence you’d use in court, this kind of evidence can be useful for increasing credibility by drawing parallels when there isn’t enough information to prove something in an investigation. Analogical evidence uses a comparison of things that are similar to draw an analogy.

2. Anecdotal Evidence

Anecdotal evidence isn’t used in court, but can sometimes help in an investigation to get a better picture of an issue. The biggest problem with this kind of evidence is that it is often “cherry picked” to present only anecdotes that support a particular conclusion. Consider it with skepticism, and in combination with other, more reliable, kinds of evidence.

3. Character Evidence

This is a testimony or document that is used to help prove that someone acted in a particular way based on the person’s character. While this can’t be used to prove that a person’s behavior at a certain time was consistent with his or her character, it can be used in some investigations to prove intent, motive, or opportunity.

4. Circumstantial Evidence

Also known as indirect evidence, this type of evidence is used to infer something based on a series of facts separate from the fact the argument is trying to prove. It requires a deduction of facts from other facts that can be proven and, is not considered to be strong evidence.

5. Demonstrative Evidence

An object or document is considered to be demonstrative evidence when it directly demonstrates a fact. It’s a common and reliable kind of evidence. Examples of this kind of evidence are photographs, video and audio recordings, charts, etc.

6. Digital Evidence

Digital evidence can be any sort of digital file from an electronic source. This includes email, text messages, instant messages, files and documents extracted from hard drives, electronic financial transactions, audio files, video files. Digital evidence can be found on any server or device that stores data, including some lesser-known sources such as home video game consoles, GPS sport watches and internet-enabled devices used in home automation. Digital evidence is often found through internet searches using open source intelligence (OSINT).

7. Direct Evidence

The most powerful type of evidence, direct evidence requires no inference. The evidence alone is the proof.

8. Documentary Evidence

Most commonly considered to be written forms of proof, such as letters or wills, documentary evidence can also include other types of media, such as images, video or audio recordings, etc.

9. Exculpatory Evidence

This type of evidence can exonerate a defendant in a – usually criminal – case. Prosecutors and police are required to disclose to the defendant any exculpatory evidence they find or risk having the case dismissed.

10. Forensic Evidence

Forensic Evidence is scientific evidence, such as DNA, trace evidence, fingerprints or ballistics reports, and can provide proof to establish a person’s guilt or innocence. Forensic evidence is generally considered to be strong and reliable evidence and alongside helping to convict criminals, its role in exonerating the innocent has been well documented. The term “forensic” means “for the courts”.

11. Hearsay Evidence

Hearsay evidence consists of statements made by witnesses who are not present. Hearsay evidence is not admissible in court.

12. Physical Evidence

As would be expected, evidence that is in the form of a tangible object, such as a firearm, fingerprints, rope purportedly used to strangle someone, or tire casts from a crime scene, is considered to be physical evidence. Physical evidence is also known as “real” or “material” evidence. It can be presented in court as an exhibit of a physical object, captured in still or moving images, described in text, audio or video or referred to in documents.

13. Prima Facie Evidence

Meaning “on its first appearance” this is evidence presented before a trial that is enough to prove something until it is successfully disproved or rebutted at trial. This is also called “presumptive evidence”.

14. Statistical Evidence

Evidence that uses numbers (or statistics) to support a position is called statistical evidence. This type of evidence is based on research or polls.

15. Testimonial Evidence

One of the most common forms of evidence, this is either spoken or written evidence given by a witness under oath. It can be gathered in court, at a deposition or through an affidavit.

Although Jacob Schiff’s personal agent, George Kennan, had regularly toured Russia during the latter part of the nineteenth century, bringing in money and arms for the Communist revolutionaries (his grandson said that Schiff had spent $20 million to bring about the Bolshevik Revolution) more concerted aid was called for to support an entire regime. Kennan also aided Schiff in financing the Japanese in the Russo-Japanese War of 1905; the Japanese decorated Kennan with the Gold War Medal and the Order of the Sacred Treasure.

In 1915, the American International Corporation was formed in New York. Its principal goal was the coordination of aid, particularly financial assistance, to the Bolsheviks which had previously been provided by Schiff and other bankers on an informal basis. The new firm was funded by J.P. Morgan, the Rockefellers, and the National City Bank. No one would seriously believe that bankers of this magnitude would finance an “anti-capitalist” revolution for the Communists, yet this is exactly what happened. These same men financed Woodrow Wilson’s political campaigns, and it was these same men to whom Wilson referred in his opening address to the Paris Peace Conference, when he said,

“There is moreover a voice calling for these definitions of principles and purposes which is, it seems to me, more thrilling and more compelling than any of the moving voices with which the troubled air of the world is filled. It is the voice of the Russian people. There are men in the United States of the finest temper who are in sympathy with Bolshevism because it appears to them to offer that regime of opportunity to the individual which they desire to bring about.”

Significant amounts of media have been deployed to erect in us an understanding that we didn't realize we could tap in to.

It's like I've been trying to disprove to myself.

I made it rain last year. Came home running and excited to tell my parents and they looked at me like I was the craziest person they had ever come across. I showed them the predicted weather for the day, it was a 0% chance of rain. .. That's been my biggest issue, not trusting myself. I seek the validation/confirmation of others. That's probably one of my biggest flaws.

I definitely cannot make it rain by a simple thought (yet), but when I really really put mind to it, it happened.

I close my eyes, and see electricity. I've dreamt about shooting lightning, and starting thunder storms, and commanding/controlling them…

My 36 yo daughter-in-law is one of those of the left that are losing it in this fake pandemic. She has put chairs around the couch where she sits with her computer. I asked her why. She told me it made a tunnel. I assume she is saying it makes her feels safe. Her pupils are huge too and she looks a bit crazy but seems to be talking ok.

I asked her if she was worried about the virus and she of course was. Among many things I said to calm her I told her what I thought was going on with the tents etc like maybe they were rescuing the kids and how I had my finger on this so wouldn't let anything happen to her or our family. Best I could do for now.

This is the first time I feel a bit scared. I hope she stays ok in the next couple of weeks.

People Need Weed, But Stores Can't Get Federal Funding in a Crisis

Cannabis businesses won’t be eligible for disaster relief loans, thanks to federal prohibition.

Despite the fact that pot is probably putting more than its share of the nation’s psychological wellbeing on its back, the federal government doesn’t seem to be willing to offer legal weed an equal measure of support. The Small Business Association stated last week via Twitter that cannabis businesses will remain ineligible to receive any of the $50 billion in low-interest disaster relief loans that the president promised the agency would distribute.

“Because federal law prohibits the sale and distribution of cannabis, the SBA does not provide financial assistance to businesses that are illegal under federal law,” SBA’s Carol Chastang told Cannabis Business Times. “Businesses that aren’t eligible include marijuana growers and dispensers, businesses that sell cannabis products, etc., even if the business is legal under local or state law.”

The problem boils down to the fact that while cannabis is recreationally legal in 11 states, D.C., and two territories, it remains federally illegal, which already inhibits basic business conduct like banking and interstate trade. Now, federal prohibition will also affect the business's ability to receive emergency aid from the government.

Beyond the fact that it’s easier to stay inside for, uh, an indefinite amount of time if you’re baked as much as possible, local governments have recognized that right now, access to weed is also about medical necessity. Dispensaries with medicinal licenses in states like California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Mexico, New York, and Washington have been designated as essential businesses. According to a report from CBS News, some doctors have even begun to prescribe medicinal cannabis via telemedicine.

For now, at least, many cannabis businesses are likely still in the green. Street dealers around the world have already reported an uptick in demand, according to MEL Magazine, and legal operations in the U.S. saw the same pre-sheltering boom, per the New York Times.

But while a lack of federal support won’t mean the death of legal cannabis everywhere (these ghouls wish!), cannabis businesses that aren’t bloated with venture capital and helmed by the likes of John Boehner would likely suffer disproportionately. That could have serious implications for diversity in the cannabis industry in the long term, with a higher bar of entry into the legal pot biz meaning fewer opportunities for potential businesses run by people who aren’t already independently wealthy.

Technocratic activists are full of solutions to the coronavirus crisis – the same panaceas they've been pushing for years. What problem wouldn't be solved by abolishing the family, privacy, and other things we take for granted?!

Under the time-honored rubric of "never let a good crisis go to waste," the usual suspects have come out of the woodwork to tout their favored "solutions" as answers to the coronavirus pandemic and the attendant economic crisis. Of course, they've been pushing these initiatives for years, and there's a reason (or three) that they haven't been terribly popular – they'd require completely upending current societal models, and few have the stomach for such fundamental change.

But desperate times call for desperate measures. Surely there's something of value in these revolutionary projects? Let's have a look, shall we…

Abolish cash

On the surface, doing away with physical currency in the middle of an epidemic would seem to make sense. Common wisdom holds that banknotes are dirty, and it's logical to think that they might spread disease. Reports that China was "quarantining" shipments of cash, coupled with a World Health Organization advisory to use contactless payments wherever possible in order to avoid spreading coronavirus, have gone a long way toward manufacturing consent for the concept of dropping cash altogether.

However, MIT Tech Review found no real evidence that cash has been a vector for coronavirus, having queried several microbiologists to get to the bottom of the matter. That won't stop proponents of the cashless society from pushing the theory, of course, but it does take the wind out of their sails (and perhaps their sales). There's a lot of energy behind the movement to take the economy off cash – technocratic heavyweights like the World Economic Forum, former Bank of England chief Mark Carney, and of course Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have all invested serious resources in such a project. The idea is already gaining mainstream currency (no pun intended): a "digital dollar" provision made its way into the US' must-pass coronavirus stimulus bill. While it was ultimately removed, cashless society proponents have continued championing it, reasoning that it's the quickest way of getting the stimulus money into Americans' hands. As the Federal Reserve pours trillions of dollars conjured out of thin air into the economy, it seems only fitting that Americans will increasingly embrace using imaginary money to represent imaginary value.

I'm seeing temporary hospitals being put up around the world, if these environments are for rescued children there are many simple things that could be done to enrich their environment that specifically cater to the therapeutic recovery of trauma victims. Construction workers / designers will probably not pay heed to color temperature of lights, they will just be thinking of standard design protocols for field hospital environments. I'm guessing the military personnel moving through the tunnels will be briefed on how to handle startled kids but the forethought of having a pre-made mini care package to give them at the moment of recovery would help no end in the overall therapeutic process. I would be happy for anyone who is designing these temporary hospitals to take any of these things into consideration, or even the people designing the overall care strategies, ie psychologists etc. so much more very simple inexpensive things could be done that could be integrated into an overall design of psychological treatment. In a mass rescue type of environment it will be hard to give personal attention at such a significant time.

Every day brings a drastic new set of restrictions by government bodies (most have been delivered by way of executive orders) at the local, state and federal level that are eager to flex their muscles for the so-called “good” of the populace.

This is where we run the risk of this whole fly-by-night operation going completely off the rails.

It’s one thing to attempt an experiment in social distancing in order to flatten the curve of this virus because we can’t afford to risk overwhelming the hospitals and exposing the most vulnerable in the nation to unavoidable loss of life scenarios. However, there’s a fine line between strongly worded suggestions for citizens to voluntarily stay at home and strong-armed house arrest orders with penalties in place for non-compliance.

More than three-quarters of all Americans have now been ordered to stay at home and that number is growing as more states fall in line.

Schools have cancelled physical classes, many for the remainder of the academic year.

Many of the states have banned gatherings of more than 10 people.

At least three states (Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania) have ordered non-essential businesses to close.

In Washington, DC, residents face 90 days in jail and a $5,000 fine if they leave their homes during the coronavirus outbreak. Residents of Maryland, Hawaii and Washington State also risk severe penalties of up to a year in prison and a $5,000 fine for violating the stay-at-home orders. Violators in Alaska could face jail time and up to $25,000 in fines.

Kentucky residents are prohibited from traveling outside the state, with a few exceptions.

New York City, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S., is offering its Rikers Island prisoners $6 an hour to help dig mass graves.

In San Francisco, cannabis dispensaries were included among the essential businesses allowed to keep operating during the city-wide lockdown.

New Jersey’s governor canceled gatherings of any number, including parties, weddings and religious ceremonies, and warned the restrictions could continue for weeks or months. One city actually threatened to prosecute residents who spread false information about the virus.

Oregon banned all nonessential social and recreational gatherings, regardless of size.

Rhode Island has given police the go-ahead to pull over anyone with New York license plates to record their contact information and order them to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Gun shop owners are not taking kindly to his demand that they close their doors during the coronavirus crisis after he labeled them "non-essential."

The media is bombarding Americans around the clock with updates on the death count, highlighting death maps and scaring people into staying home.

Governors are forcing small businesses to shut down and threatening to jail anyone who violates their authoritarian social distancing orders.

The media hysteria is based on a Bill Gates-funded IHME Coronavirus model that has been proven to be way off.

It gets worse…

The amount of Americans who are reported to have died from the Coronavirus is based on a CDC coding system that will “result in COVID-19 being the underlying cause more often than not.”

A new ICD code was established to keep track of Coronavirus deaths.

The U07.1 code will be used for death by Coronavirus infection.

However, there’s another secondary code, U07.2, “for clinical or epidemiological diagnosis of COVID-19 where a laboratory confirmation is inconclusive or not available,” the CDC guidelines read.

“Because laboratory test results are not typically reported on death certificates in the U.S., NCHS is not planning to implement U07.2 for mortality statistics.”

This is a huge problem.

“The underlying cause depends upon what and where conditions are reported on the death certificate. However, the rules for coding and selection of the underlying cause of death are expected to result in COVID- 19 being the underlying cause more often than not,” the guidelines read.

“COVID-19 should be reported on the death certificate for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death,” CDC guidelines issued March 24 read. “Certifiers should include as much detail as possible based on their knowledge of the case, medical records, laboratory testing, etc.,” the guidance continued.

“If the decedent had other chronic conditions such as COPD or asthma that may have also contributed, these conditions can be reported in Part II.”

Fired Commander of Aircraft Carrier Captain Crozier Tested Positive for Coronavirus

The ex-commander of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, Navy Capt. Brett Crozier, tested positive for coronavirus before he was removed from command, according to a report.

Crozier began exhibiting symptoms before he was removed from the ship on Thursday, the New York Times reported on Sunday morning, citing two of Crozier’s close friends.

Navy Secretary Thomas Modly fired Crozier on Thursday, after a memo he wrote urging Navy leaders to get sailors off the ship faster in Guam due to a coronavirus outbreak leaked to the San Francisco Chronicle, Crozier’s hometown paper.

Modly said Crozier was not fired for raising concerns, but for emailing the memo over an unsecured and unclassified system and cc’ing more than 20 people, including some outside the chain of command, and for not bringing his concerns to his direct superior, who lived on the ship down the hallway from him.

Videos emerged on Friday of Crozier exiting the ship, and hundreds of crew members gathered together cheering, “Captain Crozier!”

Until the Times‘ report on Sunday, there was no indication that Crozier himself had tested positive for coronavirus, or was exhibiting symptoms himself.

It is not clear whether he had those symptoms at the time of his writing the memo, which was dated Monday, March 30. The memo leaked to the Chronicle the next day, Tuesday, March 31. Crozier was fired on Thursday, April 2.

“It is unclear when he was first tested for Covid-19 or when he received his results,” according to the Times.

A Navy spokesman told the Times that Crozier has been reassigned to the headquarters of the Naval Air Forces Pacific command in San Diego, but that he must complete a quarantine period first in Guam.

Democrat leaders on the House Armed Services Committee criticized Crozier’s removal as an “overreaction,” although they conceded that he “clearly” went outside the chain of command and “did not handle the immense pressure appropriately.”

Joe Biden has called Crozier’s firing “close to criminal” and has blamed the “Trump admin” despite the decision being Modly’s own.

“I think he should have a commendation rather than be fired,” he said.

President Trump on Friday said he backed Modly’s decision, and said the ship should have never stopped on a port visit to Vietnam just several weeks ago.

Navy leaders have previously defended that decision, saying there were only 16 known cases of coronavirus further up north at the time.

Sweden: Illegal migrants with deportation orders released due to pandemic

Illegal migrants in Sweden waiting to be deported back to their homelands are being set free by Swedish authorities since flights across the globe have been halted and borders have been sealed off as a result of the Chinese COVID-19 virus outbreak.

UK: 53 Illegal Boat Migrants Brought Ashore Despite Pandemic

Obviously I can't do that. When I said nurses/doctors dropping like flies I meant getting sick not dying. Just spoke with a friend who's a Resident Doc and he got sick on Tuesday. He's young and will be fine but has had nonstop migraine and if he tries to do anything has shortness of breath. Hasn't had any breathing issues. Said today his headache is starting to ease up. Said he's been eating edibles and advil and thinks the edibles actually help- a couple of guys he works with have had fevers for 10 days straight. Said he didn't see much success with hydroxycloroquine. 99.9% of deaths are either old or people or pre-existing conditions. Everyone else who's getting it does recover but there is still a shortage of ventilators and I know that staff at St. Mary's Livonia are having to bring their own masks and have to wear one mask for the whole day. As thousands of businesses across the country close their doors to help slow the spread of the coronavirus across the country, Amazon, deemed an "essential business," is one of a few major multinational corporations that have continued to operate.

While the company's operations have largely carried on business as usual, the fear of catching the coronavirus at Amazon warehouses is now palpable, employees told Business Insider. A quiet cough or small sneeze would usually pass without much notice — but now they boom across the facility, flaring anxieties and prompting some employees to walk out in the middle of a shift.

While some Amazon workers can afford not to go to work, others feel that they are forced to choose between their health and their livelihood.

Business Insider spoke with eight Amazon workers in Pennsylvania, Texas, Kentucky, Arizona, and California who say they're afraid to go to work — and they claim that Amazon is not doing enough to prevent the novel coronavirus from spreading within their own facilities and to the larger communities they serve.

Kristen Kish, a spokesperson for Amazon told Business Insider told that the company is monitoring the situation in its facilities and are taking "proactive measures to protect employees and associates who have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed or becomes ill."

"Like most global companies, we've had employees affected by this, and we're doing all that we can to protect our employees and take the proper precautions as stated in WHO guidelines," Kish told Business Insider.

With hundreds or even thousands of workers packed into a warehouse at a time — rendering social distancing measures "impossible" — and a scarce supply of hand sanitizers and cleaning products, employees called Amazon facilities a "breeding ground" for coronavirus infection.

And, despite having confirmed COVID-19 cases at several warehouses, they claim that management refused to temporarily close down their locations to clean the entire facility despite employee requests.

"It's leaving us to choose our health or our finances," one Amazon worker from Houston who wished to remain anonymous told Business Insider. "Everybody looks scared, but we can't afford not to go to work."
