Putin pressed Trump for talks on arms control: report

Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly pressed President Trump to agree to bilateral talks on arms control during their two-hour private meeting in Helsinki last month.

Politico reported that a leaked Russian document it obtained contains a list of topics for negotiation that a source said Putin brought to his one-on-one meeting with Trump.

The proposals include cooperation on nuclear arms and weapons limits, two topics that Russia and the U.S. have frequently discussed during diplomatic interactions.

“This is, ‘We want to get out of the dog house and engage with the U.S. on a broad range of security issues,’ ” the unidentified source told Politico.

Trump's meeting with the Russian president has been shrouded in mystery, with top Trump administration officials admitting they do not know what was discussed. In the weeks after the controversial Helsinki summit, multiple lawmakers called for the only other American in the room, the interpreter, to testify about what she had heard.

Trump faced intense bipartisan backlash after his joint press conference with Putin after their meeting, during which he downplayed Russian interference in U.S. elections and appeared to cast doubt on the U.S. intelligence community's conclusions. He said he didn't see any reason why Russia "would" have hacked the 2016 election.

Though he partially walked back the comments several days later, insisting he meant to say "wouldn't," lawmakers have continued to express concern over what he might have promised Putin during the meeting.

The proposal obtained by Politico reportedly does not mention cooperation between the two countries in Syria, a topic Putin introduced during the press conference as a starting point for bilateral agreements.

Russia's ambassador to the United States last month said Trump made "important verbal agreements" with Putin during their private conversation, and a Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman told reporters that the Kremlin has already started to implement undefined agreements from the summit.

Top Trump administration officials, including press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert, have remained vague when answering questions about what Trump and Putin talked about.

Though the White House declined to comment on the document obtained by Politico, National Security Council spokesman Garrett Marquis said Trump and Putin did not exchange written proposals.

“During the historic meeting between President Trump and President Putin, the two leaders discussed a range of subjects, including our nuclear arsenals, which when combined account for roughly 90 percent of all nuclear weapons," Marquis told Politico.

"There were no commitments to undertake any action, beyond agreement that both sides should continue discussions," Marquis said. "The President did not receive any written proposals from President Putin, and the President did not provide any written proposals to President Putin."

Sorry in last bread but it didn’t last…repeating re ham radio.

Someone asked earlier today about ham radio or more officially amateur radio and why the bad guys are using it.

Ham radio uses radio frequencies or RF.

Ham radio is in no way tied to text message, or internet, or phones, or blog sites or anything like that.

It is or would be difficult to trace.

Ham radio has available a huge range of frequencies on which to put a transmit signal.

Ham radio is basically a broadcast mechanism, one transmit to virtually any number of receivers…

The transmitter doesn’t need to be identified other than call letters; and none of the receivers need to be identified at all.

Ham radio is also basically analog signaling (versus the digital signaling or VOIP that is used in our internet)

Ham radio transmitter can be in virtually any of the allowed frequencies, which are many; there is a lot of bandwidth available.

A receiver does not need to be identified.

Anyone can have a receiver; anyone can listen; a receiver doesn’t need a license, only a transmitter needs a license.

When you transmit, if you didn’t have a license, no one would really know; it is an honor system.

Ham radio also can use FM, AM, SSB, or CW to transmit the signal. The receiver/s has to be capable of receiving that type of signal.

To communicate, the transmitter and receiver for the most part are tuned to the same exact frequency and use the same signaling.

So to communicate with someone specific or a group, you would have to know the exact frequencies and the exact time. That would require coordination.

You would not be likely to “overhear” a communication unless you were tuned exactly to that frequency with the same signaling. Overhearing would be random.

Ham radio for the most part doesn’t have channels on the LF HF frequencies…so you can’t really apply a scanner to it like you could CB radio.

Ham radio CW (continuous wave) signaling basically uses Morse code … the old dot dot dash from a telegraph key…most people no longer know it; and it’s is virtually impossible to tune over a CW signal and pickup what’s being broadcast with listening for a while.

So ham radio is broadcast and not publisher subscriber and is one transmit to many receive (unlimited, like old broadcast TV) and the many don’t need any registration or ID or license or anything. You have no idea how many are receiving.

And obviously with any of it you can have coded messages or different language that make it very difficult to decipher, especially if you are trying to hide something.

FYI … the very basics…a lot more to it but that’s a basic description.

South Carolina Teen Convicted of Supporting ISIS

A 19-year-old South Carolina resident pleaded guilty on Wednesday to attempting to provide material support to ISIS. Zakaryia Abdin, 19, of Ladson, purchased weapons and created a social media account attempting to join ISIS. He also sought a handler to get him overseas to Syria or Egypt to make contact with the terrorist organization, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. "Abdin's attempt to provide material support to ISIS by traveling overseas put American lives at risk," said Assistant Attorney General Demers. "That is unacceptable, and I applaud the dedicated agents and prosecutors who stopped him and have achieved this successful outcome."

Abdin was arrested by the FBI at Charleston International Airport in March of last year when he attempted to board a plane to travel overseas to support ISIS. The DOJ said Abdin began his efforts to join the terrorist organization in January 2017 when he created a social media account. He visited the FBI in Mount Pleasant to meet with a special agent from the Joint Terrorism Task Force, who advised him about the FBI's counterterrorism investigations and the illegality of providing support to foreign terrorist organizations. According to the DOJ, after that date Abdin began to seek a handler to get him overseas to make contact with ISIS. He had extensive communications with someone he believed was affiliated with ISIS but who was an undercover FBI employee.

Abdin said he wished to join the Caliphate, serve in combat and talked about joining jihad. He also purchased numerous weapons including an SKS rifle which he modified from a 10-round to a 30-round magazine. He practiced at shooting ranges and a local gun store with an AK, SKS, and a 9mm. After receiving a passport, Abdin sent a message to the undercover FBI employee stating, "let the brothers know I am coming very soon."

"Once again, the Joint Terrorism Task Force has uncovered, investigated, and prevented terrorist activity with roots in South Carolina," said Special Agent in Charge Norris. "These results are made possible by the coordinated efforts of our federal, state and local partners, who are committed to sharing information and resources to protect our communities."

Abdin faces 20 years in prison when sentenced. Over 160 individuals in the United States have been charged with offenses related to ISIS since March 2014, according to the latest report released last week of the George Washington Extremist Tracker.

The declaration also includes public assistance to help state, tribal and local governments with ongoing emergency response and recovery costs, including repairs and replacement of disaster-damaged facilities and infrastructure such as roads, bridges and utilities. The declaration also includes hazard mitigation, which helps state and local governments reduce the risks and impacts of future disasters.”

What the CA.gov website doesn’t say is that this declaration gives the Military and the NSA legality to fully operate inside the borders of California under dodd 5525.5. Department of Defense Directive goes on to state the military will support local law enforcement agencies. Directive 5 speaks of the responsibilities of the military operation during major disaster declarations. Section 5.5 of Directive 5 states: “The Director, National Security Agency/Chief, Central Security Service

(DIRNSA/CHCSS) shall establish appropriate guidance for the National Security

Agency/Central Security Service (NSA/CSS)”

In short, The military and NSA are required to operate in major disaster declarations. Enclosure 2 goes on to state that all intel gathered that may be criminal in nature must be turned over to local authorities for prosecution of the criminal activities.

In short, the two memoranda Kennedy issued on November 12, 1963 would ensure that access to classified UFO files would be extended to more government agencies, ultimately resulting in direct Presidential access.

Such direct access had been denied to President Kennedy by McCone’s predecessor, Allen Dulles, who retired as CIA Director in November 1961, but likely continued on in his other position as head of the MJ-12 Committee as suggested in the eight MJ-12 Policy Directives.

It’s feasible that the MJ-12 Directives drafted by Dulles and approved by the MJ-12 Committee were used not only for the 1963 assassination of President Kennedy, but also for the removal of his son, 36 years later.

What is judicial impeachment?

Impeachment is a process by which the political branches of government – usually the legislature – can remove judges from office. Because the impeachment power lies primarily in the hands of politicians, it is at times threatened for partisan reasons, but the impeachment and removal of judges is in fact rare and usually limited to grave ethical or criminal misconduct such as perjury, fraud, or conflicts of interest.

How does the impeachment process work?

Federal and state constitutions provide different mechanisms for impeachment of judges, but impeachment is generally a two-step process.

With respect to federal judges, under Article I of the United States Constitution, the House of Representatives has the power to impeach, and the Senate the power to hold a trial to determine whether removal is appropriate. The House can impeach a judge with a simple majority vote. However, a judge may only be removed from office following a trial and a vote to convict by a two-thirds majority of the Senate.

Most states’ procedures for the impeachment and removal of judges are similar to the federal approach (see Pennsylvania, for example), requiring a majority vote of the lower house in the legislature and a two-thirds vote of the upper house. But in some states (including New York and Nebraska), the trial following impeachment is conducted by a court comprised of state officials and/or state judges. And in others the number of votes required to impeach or convict differs.

How common is it to impeach judges?

Impeachment of judges is rare, and removal is rarer still. With respect to federal judges, since 1803, the House of Representatives has impeached only 15 judges – an average of one every 14 years – and only 8 of those impeachments were followed by convictions in the Senate. Justice Samuel Chase is the only Supreme Court Justice the House has impeached, and in 1805 the Senate acquitted Chase.

Impeachment in the states has been similarly rare. A review of studies by the American Judicature Society and the National Center for State Courts, as well as news articles, reveals just two instances of a state judge being impeached in the last 25 years. In 1993-94, Pennsylvania impeached and removed the first and only judge in its history, Supreme Court Justice Rolf Larsen, and in 2000 New Hampshire impeached, but the state senate declined to remove, Supreme Court Justice David Brock.

What conduct constitutes grounds for impeachment?

The United States Constitution provides little guidance as to what offenses constitute grounds for the impeachment of federal judges: as with other government officials, judges may be removed following impeachment and conviction for “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors,” otherwise, under Article III, Section 1, judges “shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour.”

However, the impeachment power has historically been limited to cases of serious ethical or criminal misconduct. For example, in 2009, the House impeached U.S. District Court Judge Samuel B. Kent on charges of sexual assault, obstructing an official proceeding, and making false statements. Kent resigned before the Senate tried the charges. in the 70s my grandfather in texas talked to german ham operators that talked to my boyfriend in the hospital there, and that is how we got messages back and forth to avoid 40 dollar fone calls.

they did some sort of message relay when the boyfriend ended up in the hospital from a car wreck in west germany and i had already moved back to texas.

so conceivably these 'relays' could daisy chain messages all over the place and involve a number of countries and operators.
