Ex-federal prosecutor: 'Thank God' Whitaker is gone, Barr will bring 'integrity' back to DOJ

Former federal prosecutor Gene Rossi on Friday told Hill.TV that he is "embarrassed" by recent stories that have come out of the Justice Department, saying he is glad that former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker has been replaced by recently confirmed Attorney General William Barr.

 

"After 30 years, I'm almost at the point where I'm embarrassed by what is coming out of the Department of Justice," Rossi told hosts Krystal Ball and Mattie Dupler on "Rising."

 

"Thank God that Matt Whitaker is gone because Bill Barr is going to bring integrity, brilliance and some experience to that department," he continued. "I'm praying that he's going to right that ship, but for the last year and a half, with Sessions, with Whitaker, it's been embarrassing."

 

"I know a lot of the people there who still are working very hard for the department, and I'm laughing at them because they look like buffoons," he said.

 

Rossi's comments come after former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe revealed that he opened a federal probe into whether President Trump obstructed justice after FBI Director James Comey was fired in May 2017.

Usually for us posters and lurkers, we share our thoughts, or read them privately, and expect foul play, but the truth always seems to escape or go unnoticed. But now there's this obscure case, this Jussie Smollet story, and I'm questioning what the hell we are seeing.

 

All the outlets which we accuse of staging hoaxes like this, the same ones that very recently labeled people who questioned this case as "far right," are reporting what we initially expected. It's surprising seeing CNN go all in on this. On top of that, the posts in the "influenced" subreddits are reaching those seemingly high comment/upvote totals. The kind of numbers that make you suspect shills.

 

Maybe because we've grown to expect these things to get swept under the rug, that when a hoax (potentially) reveals itself it seems shocking. Here I am now suspecting that the revelation of the possibility of this attack being orchestrated, seems in itself orchestrated. It makes no sense, but now the conspiracy theorist inside me is looking for amother level of a Conspiracy within. Now I find myself asking a bizzare new set of questions.

 

  1. Is this a way for the MSM media to try to regain its credibility, staging an event to "cover honestly" so people begin to trust them again (heading into a major election cycle)

 

  1. is this now the right side of the spectrum firing back, staging an event to be revealed as false making the left look bad.

 

  1. if these new details are legit, and was not meant to be revealed as a hoax, will larger entities (media outlets/political figures) be revealed to have connections to it?

We The People need to have the whole election process overhauled to include background checks for all personnel at all levels of government in the U.S.A. The whole election debacle in the U.S.A. has degraded into a three-ring circus operated by Mafia-style political committees, both on the right and on the left, plus the waffler Independent candidates that jump the fence when it financially benefits them. All sides violate election laws. Huge money donations corrupt all candidates. The electorate is not uneducated on their own right; they are uneducated due to NON-DISCLOSURES and massive obfuscations of and by all of the candidates.

 

If the electorate is expected to make sound decisions on the political puke candidates, overhaul the election system as follows:

 

All Article I and Article II personnel must be limited to only one term of office, bar none. A Constitutional Amendment must be added to limit U.S. Supreme Court members’ term of office to one 5-year term, no exceptions.

 

Government individuals, including U.S. presidents should receive no retirement benefits nor Secret Service protection upon completion of service. All government salaries and raises should always be put to an electorate vote during the general election. Ban all foreign donations and if donated, disqualify candidate.

I wanted to comment on the 3D printed AR15 (ARmalite 15) lower. For those unaware, the ATF only views a specific part of a gun as a gun/AOW/rifle (it can be slightly different between firearms). The serialized piece, in this case an AR15 lower, is the firearm.

 

I don’t want to go into much detail, but there are a few perfectly legal ways firearms can be purchased or manufactured where federal law does not require a background check (though some states may).

 

I’ll leave it at this, a 3D printed AR15 is by far the worst option and is a massive KB (kaboom) waiting to happen. 3D printers are Much more expensive than an introductory level AR, and even that much more expensive than an AR built from.

 

TL;DR: the cost of a 3D printed far exceeds that of an AR, and anyone with enough knowledge to 3D print one and assemble a rifle from scratch knows this is a stupid idea.

 

This was 100% agenda driven to get rid of those scary possessed ghost gun and/or legal private sales.

Would not want to build gun out of 3D printed parts from home FDM printer.

Would use sintered metal laser printer instead.

or Lost PLA casting method.

Steel is hard to cast without proper equipment, and would need to be machined after anyway.

A source who was in the room during the meeting at which Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein reportedly talked about someone perhaps wearing "a wire" while meeting with President Trump tells Fox News the comment was "sarcastic."

The meeting in question took place at Main DOJ on May 16, 2017. This was one week after FBI Director James Comey was fired by the president, and one day before Special Counsel Mueller investigation was brought in to oversee an inquiry into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

Fox News has learned that the meeting in question included Rosenstein, Andrew McCabe, then the acting director of the FBI, and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, among several others.

Fox News' source said: "I remember this meeting and remember the wire comment. The statement was sarcastic and was never discussed with any intention of recording a conversation with the president."

"Andy [McCabe] and the DAG didn't really know each other," said the source, referring to the abbreviation for Rosenstein's post. "They were new to each other."

Rosenstein was sworn in as the deputy attorney general on April 26, 2017, just weeks before the meeting. McCabe has referred to Comey as his mentor and was meeting with Rosenstein, who had penned a memo Trump used, in part, to fire Comey. "Maybe Andy misread the room," said the source. "It was not a serious suggestion."

However, Fox News has also been told by a separate source familiar with McCabe's memos that a New York Times story on Friday about Rosenstein was "accurate," and that it was McCabe's thinking that Rosenstein's words were not made in jest.

The Times' bombshell report said Rosenstein had suggested recording Trump to expose chaos in the White House, enlisting Cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove the president.

Some DOJ insiders pointed to McCabe as the source of the Times story, saying these were the "desperate actions" of a man under federal investigation.

Fox News has reported that McCabe is under investigation by the U,S, Attorney's Office. Federal prosecutors have impaneled a grand jury to investigate former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe following the Department of Justice inspector general’s report alleging that McCabe approved a media disclosure to advance his personal interests.

I've been doing some digging into what Space Force might look like. Here are my thoughts:

 

Outer Space

Outer Space begins at 100k or 62 miles. This is the lowest altitude at which orbit is achieved. This is known as the Kármán line (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outer_space). The Outer Space Treaty (established in 1967) represents the basic legal framework of international space law. Among its principles, it bars States party to the treaty from placing weapons of mass destruction in Earth orbit, installing them on the Moon or any other celestial body, or otherwise stationing them in outer space. It exclusively limits the use of the Moon and other celestial bodies to peaceful purposes and expressly prohibits their use for testing weapons of any kind, conducting military manoeuvres, or establishing military bases, installations, and fortifications (Article IV). However, the treaty does not prohibit the placement of conventional weapons in orbit and thus some highly destructive attack strategies such as kinetic bombardment are still potentially allowable (satellite killers, for instance, have been tested). Outer space is considered to be above national boundaries and hence open to all.

 

For an airplane flying higher and higher, the increasingly thin air provides less and less lift, requiring increasingly higher speed to create enough lift to hold the airplane up. It eventually reaches an altitude where it must fly so fast to generate lift that it reaches orbital velocity. The Kármán line is therefore the highest altitude at which orbital speed provides sufficient aerodynamic lift to fly in a straight line that doesn't follow the curvature of the Earth's surface.

 

FYI: the United States designates people who travel above an altitude of 50 miles (80 km) as astronauts.

 

Mesosphere (also known as 'near space')

Near space was first explored in the 1930s. Later exploration was mainly carried out by unmanned craft.

 

The exact upper and lower boundaries of the mesosphere vary with latitude and with season (higher in winter and at the tropics, lower in summer and at the poles), but the lower boundary is usually located at heights from 50 to 65k (164,000 to 213,000 ft; 31 to 40 mi) above the Earth's surface and the upper boundary (mesopause) is usually around 85 to 100k (53 to 62 mi).

 

For military purposes, the mesosphere is the area of the earth's atmosphere which is of most interest, and this area is where test vehicles are believed to be under development. This is the area of space in which the U2 spy plane operates.

 

Low Earth Orbit (LEO)

Low earth orbit is between 160k or 90 mi and 2,000k or 1,200 mi.

 

Most satellites and all manned space stations are stationed in Leo.

 

FYI: the re-entry interface is at 122k or 76 miles.

 

Geostationary orbit is 35,800k or 22,236 mi above the equator. Geo orbit is a very special belt and the speed of a vehicle which is stationed in this orbit equates to an orbital velocity of 3.07 km/s (1.91 mi/s) and an orbital period of 1,436 minutes. This ensures that the satellite will match the Earth's rotational period and has a stationary footprint on the ground. All geostationary satellites have to be located on this ring. There are only a limited number of slots available in this orbit for new satellites.

 

Space Force

Based on the above, I'd say that the first objective of any Space Force is to operate at altitudes of between 40 - 62mi. Technically speaking, anyone flying a craft above 50mi is designated an astronaut - so on this basis, Space Force doesn't actually have to go into space. The second objective will be to operate above 62mi, as this area of space is free from national boundaries, and below 76mi, to avoid the complications of re-entry. Any (conventional) craft operating in this area of space must be travelling pretty fast.

Seconded, largely.

There are a lot of projects out there aimed at making FDM prints stronger - from better materials to inert/vacuum atmospheres, fiber injection, and various annealing processes….

 

But there are a lot of things you just wouldn't want to do with a 3d printer - or would do only as a novelty. Dimensional tolerances with FDM get kind of hard to maintain. In my own destructive testing of my 3d printed parts, they tend to be vulnerable to shattering under sudden shock. I can stand on a part or put a few hundred pounds on it more - and it will survive. But a good little smack with a hammer and pieces go flying.

 

So my experience is to not use them in things like a gun.

There again, we are getting much closer to desktop metal sintering or metal based FDM processes which could give us much better parts. Still - the barrel would likely need to be machined and given some variety of lining to be able to compare it. Although, most barrels aren't serialized, so if you work from a barrel back to an upper receiver and bolt/carrier - a 3d printed gun becomes more practical, but only just.

 

Not much reason to 3d print a firearm, and even then - a practical FDM print would probably look much different from existing firearms because the materials have such different properties from steel.

9 LSU fraternity members arrested for shocking hazing incidents

 

Nine fraternity members at Louisiana State University were arrested on Thursday for charges connected to shocking hazing incidents that took place last fall, according to reports.

 

The Delta Kappa Epsilon members, all aged between 19 and 23, stand accused of kicking pledges with steel-toed boots, beating them with a metal pipe and urinating on them, among other horrific offenses, Buzzfeed News reports.

Duckworth has been charged with the most serious crimes of the group: three felonies for battery and false imprisonment and three charges of criminal hazing. Eymard, McNiece and Gilotra are all facing felony battery charges, and the rest of the students have been hit with misdemeanor charges for criminal hazing.

 

Duckworth and McNiece are reportedly not enrolled in LSU this semester, the school said. The Delta Kappa Epsilon chapter was officially shut down at LSU last month in response to the shocking allegations of hazing.
