The withdrawal agreement bill has been given Royal Assent, meaning it has become law and the UK will officially leave the EU on January 31st, 2020.

Deputy speaker Nigel Evans read out in the House of Commons on Thursday: “I have to announce to the House in accordance with the Royal Assent Act 1967 that Her Majesty has signified her Royal Assent to the following act: European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020,” meaning the bill has officially been signed into law.

The government’s bill implementing the withdrawal deal has passed through both Houses of Parliament, meaning the UK will finally be leaving the EU on January 31st, 2020.

On Wednesday evening, MPs in the House of Commons rejected the amendments to the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill proposed by the House of Lords.

The upper house could have continued to push for their amendments to be passed, but agreed to end the “ping-pong” phase of passing the legislation, given the Conservatives’ 87-seat working majority would result in the amendments being defeated at every vote.

UKansas professor indicted for working for Communist Party of China

A professor at the University of Kansas has been charged wth fraud for surreptitious collaboration with the Chinese government.

Feng Tao allegedly ran a "scheme" wherein he allegedly planned to transfer "intellectual property."

Associate professor and researcher at the University of Kansas, Feng Tao, has been charged with two counts of wire fraud and one count of program fraud for not disclosing his work with China. He was allegedly involved in a "scheme" to transfer "intellectual property" from American universities to Chinese universities.

The 16-page superseding indictment filed by the U.S. District Court explains that Tao joined the Changjang Professorship in 2018 which is a “talent program sponsored by the PRC Government and the CPC” or Communist Party of China. The People’s Republic of China is offering these “talent plans” to students and professors in the United States to “encourage the transfer of original ideas and intellectual property from U.S. universities to PRC Government institutions.

Although Tao was selected for the Changjang Scholarship and a full-time appointment to Fuzhou University in China, he did not inform KU of this commitment regardless of the Kansas Board of Regents’ policy that the University must be notified of outside employment. The indictment states that Tao “did not disclose any financial award accompanying his selection for the Changjiang Scholarship or salary for his appointment to FZU."

Ingraham did not state the name of the alleged whistleblower — Fox News hosts are banned from doing so until the identity is confirmed — and blacked out the name when showing excerpts of documents. In an interview on Fox last night Jay Seculow (sp?) left open the door to concluding the President’s defense in less than 24 hours of endless drivel if they had made their points.

He inferred (not giving details) that they would be rebutting most, if not all, of the House Managers’ claims, then attack the impeachment process in the House. They plan to use audio/visual clips to back up their claims and to break up the monotony of listening to their people speak for hours on end.

Certain this is not all they have up their sleeve, but look for them to have a tight plan to smear Schiff and his team out of the Senate Chambers and scurrying back to the basement of the Capital with their collective tails between their legs.
