Ben Shapiro's media company sues Biden administration over vaccine mandate

 

Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro's media company, The Daily Wire, announced on Thursday that it had filed a lawsuit challenging the Biden administration's COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

 

In September, President Biden announced a new rule that required companies with more than 100 employees to mandate coronavirus vaccinations or enforce weekly testing. The Daily Wire is alleging that the administration lacks the constitutional authority to do so.

 

Jeremy Boreing, co-founder of the The Daily Wire, said his company would refuse to comply with Biden's "tyrannical vaccine mandate."

Tax credit to pay the salaries of local journalists finds its way back into budget bill

 

Congressional Democrat have reinserted a measure to include a tax credit for Washington, D.C.-area journalists into the House's version of President Biden's $1.75 trillion domestic spending bill.

 

To be included in any version that would go to Biden for his signature, the measure will also need to gain the support from Senate Democrats and survive any cuts before passage.

 

The recently cut measure was reportedly added back in after publishers and owners of local newspapers communicated the seriousness of the financial crisis in local news to their congressional representatives.

 

If passed, the credit would supply half the salary of local journalists up to $50,000 a year, and add 30% for four years after that. The measure would run a bill of roughly $1 billion in its first year.

 

"This is a huge step forward for a strong, local press – and for the communities they serve," said Steven Waldman, president and co-founder of Report for America, a national service that places up-and-coming journalists in newsrooms across the country.

Today I’d like to introduce you to someone so important, she may change your life. She has been a highly revered VIP for years, and is a household name in Japan, China and India. Although she is relatively unknown to the Western world, her accolades abound. She is Kannon, the goddess of mercy. I’d like to introduce you to her because she has some real estate I think you might be interested in.

 

If you live in Japan, you’ve seen Kannon many, many times. You may not have even realized who she was. Just in case you’re interested, I’d like to offer a formal introduction.

 

Kannon presides over her Pure Land in the South called Fudaraku, an island-mountain paradise. You can catch a glimpse of this magnificent place in paintings that depict the goddess descending the mountain to welcome those who seek her salvation. She is also prominent in sculpture, and her icons grace Buddhist temples all over Japan. Many of these icons have been designated national treasures.

 

Kannon is a Bodhisattva, which means she has prolonged her own eternal enlightenment to stay behind and help everyone who suffers in this world. Now that’s compassion!

 

Twenty-nine of the temples on the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage are dedicated to Kannon. Here are just a few of the legends surrounding them:

 

Temple No. 10, Kirihataji, is famous for the story of a beautiful young woman who wove cloth for the priest Kobo Daishi during his seven-day ascetic practice there. Upon completion, the woman told him of her loyalty to Kannon and the Daishi carved a statue of Kannon, β€œbowing three times before each cut of the blade into the sacred wood.” When he finished, the girl asked the Daishi to ordain her a Buddhist nun, and as he did, she was transformed into Kannon herself.

 

At temple No. 27, Konomineji, the image of Kannon is hibutsu, meaning it is so sacred it cannot be shown to the public.

 

At the southern tip of Shikoku on Cape Ashizuri, temple No. 38, Kongofukuji, sits on a cliff. Kannon worshippers would set out in boats from this coast, never to be heard from again. They left in pursuit of Kannon’s Pure Land of Fudaraku.

 

In the 6th century a man from Kyushu, named Mano, was saved by Kannon from a shipwreck while en route to Osaka. He thanked Kannon for her supreme intervention by building temple No. 52, Taisanji, for her.

 

Kannon is also the symbol of the divine mother. At temple No. 62, Hojuji, a Lord Ouchi’s wife prayed to Kannon for an easy childbirth. When her wish was granted, she returned the favor by writing a goeika chant in Kannon’s honor, which remains a part of this temple.

 

The goddess of mercy even has entire pilgrimages dedicated to her, the most famous being the Saikoku Kannon Pilgrimage in Kansai. Kannon pilgrimages have 33 sites of worship, symbolizing the goddess’s 33 different appearances she can take on to save people. Followers who visit 100 sites on combined Kannon pilgrimages can gain everlasting life. Even the founder of Zen Buddhism, Daruma (of Daruma doll fame) is considered to be an incarnation of Kannon.

NIH Officials Allowed EcoHealth Alliance To Self-Police Risky Gain-Of-Function Experiments In Wuhan

 

A cache of newly released communications reveals that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) allowed nonprofit genetic engineering firm EcoHealth Alliance to police its own risky research on bat coronaviruses in Wuhan, China.

 

According to FOIA documents obtained by WhiteCoatWaste, The Intercept, and the House Energy & Commerce Committee, NIH officials were concerned about risky research being done at the Wuhan Institute of Virology on a US grant.

 

As The Intercept notes:

 

Detailed notes on NIH communications obtained by The Intercept show that beginning in May 2016, agency staff had an unusual exchange with Peter Daszak, the head of EcoHealth Alliance, about experiments his group was planning to conduct on coronaviruses under an NIH grant called β€œUnderstanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.” The notes were taken by congressional staff who transcribed the emails.

 

EcoHealth was entering the third year of the five-year, $3.1 million grant that included research with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and other partners. In a 2016 progress report, the group described to NIH its plans to carry out two planned experiments infecting humanized mice with hybrid viruses, known as β€œchimeras.”

 

NIH staff members Jenny Greer - a grants management specialist, and Erik Stemmy - a program officer in charge of COVID research, both expressed concern over the risky experiments - telling EcoHealth that their experiments "appear to involve research covered under the pause," referring to an Obama-era moratorium on gain-of-function research that could be reasonably assumed to make MERS and SARS viruses more transmissible in mammals.

 

One of EcoHealth's experiments involved using genetic engineering to create chimeric MERS viruses, while another experiment used bat-virus-derived chimears related to SARS. According to the report, the researchers infected humanized mice with the altered viruses.

 

Disturbingly, after the two NIH staff members voiced concerns over Gain-of-Function research, the agency allowed EcoHealth to dictate its own definition of GoF, exonerating itself of doing 'risky' research. The NIH inserted several obscure reporting requirements suggested by EcoHealth that moved the goalposts of what constitutes GoF.

 

Of note, The Intercept writes that while the experiments demonstrate a lack of oversight and present dangers to public health, "none of the viruses involved in the work are related closely enough to SARS-CoV-2 to have sparked the pandemic," according to several scientists contacted by the outlet.

Despite uncovering Clearview AI's intrusive practices, Australia's Information Commissioner conceded that the number of Australians who have had their biometric information scraped by the company was unknown.

 

Australia's Information Commissioner has found that Clearview AI breached Australia's privacy laws on numerous fronts, after a bilateral investigation uncovered that the company's facial recognition tool collected Australians' sensitive information without consent and by unfair means.

 

The investigation, conducted by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), found that Clearview AI's facial recognition tool scraped biometric information from the web indiscriminately and has collected data on at least 3 billion people.

 

The OAIC also found that some Australian police agency users, who were Australian residents and trialled the tool, searched for and identified images of themselves as well as images of unknown Australian persons of interest in Clearview AI's database.

 

By considering these factors together, Australia's Information Commissioner Angelene Falk concluded that Clearview AI breached Australia's privacy laws by collecting Australians' sensitive information without consent and by unfair means. In her determination [PDF], Falk explained that consent was not provided, even though facial images of affected Australians are already available online, as Clearview AI's intent in collecting this biometric data was ambiguous.

 

"I consider that the act of uploading an image to a social media site does not unambiguously indicate agreement to collection of that image by an unknown third party for commercial purposes," the Information Commissioner wrote.

 

"Consent also cannot be implied if individuals are not adequately informed about the implications of providing or withholding consent. This includes ensuring that an individual is properly and clearly informed about how their personal information will be handled, so they can decide whether to give consent."

New Dog Experiment Funded By Fauci’s NIAID Revealed To Have Killed 10 Beagles

 

A newly-uncovered experiment funded by Dr. Anthony Fauci’s agency, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), involved intentionally infecting beagles with heartworm larvae before euthanizing them six months later.

 

The experiment, conducted by researchers affiliated with Iowa State University, TRS Labs in Athens, Georgia and Bayer Animal Health in Germany, was funded with a grant to which the NIAID contributed $6.1 million since 2001 and $382,500 in 2021. Two other NIAID grants, to Iowa State University and the University of Georgia, were also acknowledged by the researchers.

 

In the study, 10 beagles were infected with 200 heartworm larvae. Six months after the injection of the larvae, the beagles were euthanized and the larvae were extracted to be used in other experiments. The larvae were exposed to various compounds to test their reaction, including ivermectin and nicotine.

 

The link between the study and NIAID was unearthed by White Coat Waste Project (WCW), a taxpayer watchdog group which has been reporting on the activities of Fauci’s agency regarding animal testing.

Last nite my old acer netbook /w Linux Mint got brick'd while streaming on utoobe.

I managed to boot a Linux lite usb and am now creating a disc-image of 31gb on an usb stick same size, all /w mouse only (as the kbd either won't respond at all or only give me cryptic output). This seems to take extremly long.

Then I will install a win8 to the comp to get the bios/booting fixed again and replace it wit a fresh installation of the Linux Mint. I always thought computers were to make things easier …

Tommorow I'll maybe meet Mary Jane again after a good year w/o.

And early next year I might finally be having a new gaming rig I've been saving for the last one and a half years.

 

And after all the euphoria of upcoming big changes in the world I have kinda settled with the idea that this movie will last til about 2026, - done in 30 (years).

Just had to get these thoughts of my chest.
