Appalachia Anon here. I'm from Virginia, and while I'm pulling other duty keeping my compatriots and local community sane right now, I figured I'd pop in to report on things.

 

SWVA is deeply Red as a product of the fact the area was so devastated by Democrats controlling the entire South for many, many decades. So the people who escaped the yoke of poverty by working their butts off as farmers, then coal miners, all vote Red. Despite this, there's quite a few VERY vocal "liberals" who are nothing more than unmedicated people who need serious psychiatric help. I'm not saying that being Liberal makes them crazy, but I am saying that being crazy is what makes them liberal. Every single one of them, without fail, comes from a red-voting, Trump loving patriotic family but they were always the "black sheep" of the family. When everyone else was working in the garden, they were talking shit on tumblr. Or whatever the equivalent of "tumblr" was for the handful of GenZ and Boomer "liberals" who did so many drugs in the 60s they became lifelong burnouts. Even the opioid addicts tend to vote Red, even the ones drawing food stamps or state medicaid/medicare. Why? Because despite it, they all "work for a living" in one way or another. Even those who are physically disabled or their body has broken down from 10-15 years in the coal mines, they still see themselves as "working" class people.

 

I'm saying all this to give context to the psychology of the region in both SWVA and Virginia as a whole outside of Fairfax counties where "the rig" happens.

 

Virginia itself has ALWAYS been a deeply, deeply red-voting state full of patriots. However, due to the fact it's literally CIA HQ, Virginia is basically the California of the East Coast. All that money and power, and the voices of the citizens gets overrun by illegals in a handful of key locations completely rigged and controlled by the Deep State.

 

 

Virginia's people were very willing to go vote Youngkin but I know for many (and I have talked to VERY many), regardless of age demographic, they feel it was almost pointless. Even the ones who did go vote did it because "I have to do what I can." Like I said, they believe that if you want something in life you need to work to get it.

 

The people in VA are cautiously optimistic but after the 2020 election, whether they vote Republican, Democrat, or go back and forth, NO ONE believes the elections are fair. Even the Republicans and conservatives who are cautiously optimistic about Youngkin winning feel like they're getting their hopes up for nothing.

That great big "slap a wake-up call in the mouth of everyone" is working. The Deep State went from being able to destroy the Twin Towers and start a multi-decade Forever War to steal $20 trillion of your grandkids' money to not even being able to rig an election in their own backyard without several MILLION people knowing they're running operations. Even the people who "agree" with them know they're doing it and, whether strategically or not, Youngkin lightly distancing himself from Trump (not forcefully, but passively) has helped sway very many "life-long Democrats" to vote Youngkin this time.

 

 

Anons, say a prayer for Virginia, especially Southwest Virginia and the Coalfields. I know that if "the fix is in" for another Swamp creature as Governor, they'll retaliate against working-class parents like Newsom did in California.

Supreme Court Rejects Bid for Public Access to Rulings From Secretive FISA Court

 

An attempt to gain access to decisions made by a secretive court has been denied by the Supreme Court.

 

The American Civil Liberties Union and a coalition of other groups had argued that the Constitution’s First Amendment requires the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) to make available all “novel or significant interpretations” of law issued between Sept. 11, 2001, and mid-2015.

 

The court was required by Congress with the passage of the USA Freedom Act to release significant opinions for public dissemination, but the government has refused to release any such opinions issued prior to June 2015.

On the government’s view, literally no court in this country has the power to decide whether citizens possess a First Amendment right of access to the work of our national security courts,” Gorsuch, a Trump appointee, wrote in a dissenting opinion (pdf), joined by Obama appointee Sotomayor.

 

Gorsuch said he feels that the case presents questions about the right of the public to access judicial proceedings “of grave national importance.”

 

“Maybe even more fundamentally, this case involves a governmental challenge to the power of this Court to review the work of Article III judges in a subordinate court. If these matters are not worthy of our time, what is?” he said.

 

Patrick Toomey, senior staff attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union’s National Security Project, also expressed disappointment regarding the high court’s decision.

 

“By turning away this case, the Supreme Court has failed to bring badly needed transparency to the surveillance court and to rulings that impact millions of Americans. Secret court decisions are corrosive in a democracy, especially when they so often hand the government the power to peer into our digital lives,” Toomey said in a statement.

 

The ruling highlights the need to end laws that enable the government to operate in secret, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) added.

US Army Announces It Now Identifies As Winner Of Afghan War

 

America’s most embarrassing military failure is no more. In fact, it never existed at all. Early Friday morning, the United States Department of Defense announced that henceforth, it identifies as the winner of the 20-year war in Afghanistan.

 

The change means that once again, America’s troops are undefeated in all wars stretching back to the nation’s founding. Americans previously believed to have gone missing following America’s sudden defeat are now understood to have gone missing after America’s wild victory parade through the streets of Kabul.

In their place, YouTube has put up computer-generated “victory confirmation footage,” which shows a squad of all-female SEALs mowing down Taliban leader Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, then making out atop his bullet-riddled body as a rainbow flag waves in the background.

 

A Pentagon spokesperson was cagey about whether the DOD was questioning its identity in relation to other major conflicts, saying only that the “Iraq has always felt like Normandy trapped in Vietnam’s body.”

The claim of an "intelligence failure" obscures the truth that the government lied by making evidenceless claims to manufacture consent for the war on Iraq.

 

The George Washington University National Security Archive recently published a newly released CIA document from January 2006 titled “Misreading Intentions: Iraq’s Reaction to Inspection Created Picture of Deception”. The document, the Archive notes, “blames ‘analyst liabilities’ such as neglecting to examine Iraq’s deceptive behavior ‘through an Iraqi prism,’ for the failure to correctly assess the country’s virtually non-existent WMD capabilities.” Foreign Policy magazine describes it as a “remarkable CIA mea culpa”. But nothing could be further from the truth. Far from acknowledging the CIA’s true role, the document does not present any kind of serious analysis, but only politicized statements rehashing well-worn official claims designed to further the myth that there was an “intelligence failure” leading up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq in March of 2003.

 

There was no such “intelligence failure”. On the contrary, there was an extremely successful disinformation campaign coordinated by the CIA in furtherance of the government’s policy of seeking regime change in Iraq. The language of the document itself reveals a persistent dishonesty. It speaks of “deepened suspicions” that Iraq “had ongoing WMD programs” and “suspicions that Iraq continued to hide WMD.” Needless to say, however, the Iraq war was not sold to the public on the grounds that government officials and intelligence agencies had “suspicions” that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (WMD). It was sold to the public with declarations that it was a known fact that Iraq had ongoing programs and stockpiles of WMD. The tacit acknowledgment that the actual evidence only supported “suspicions” that this was so by itself is proof of that the narrative of an “intelligence failure” is a fiction.

Apple gets hit with chip shortage, starts cannibalizing iPads – reports

 

US tech giant Apple has cut its iPad output by half in order to use semiconductor chips, which are currently in short supply, for its iPhone 13 production, media reports state, citing company sources.

 

Production of iPads was down 50% from the company’s initial plans for September-October, Nikkei Asia reported. The iPad parts were reallocated for the production of the new iPhone 13, along with chips intended for older versions of the smartphone. Both iPad and iPhone lines share a number of components, including core and peripheral chips.

 

According to sources, Apple is betting on stronger demand for the smartphone than for the iPad. The company is also known to prioritize its new releases, and the new iPhone 13 is just out of the box, so to speak, having been released on September 24.

 

It’s not the first time Apple has placed iPhones ahead of iPads in the pecking order. Last year, the firm moved some iPad parts to the iPhone 12 to support the product amid supply-chain troubles during the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

However, global demand for the iPad has also recently been on the rise as more people started working and studying from home during lockdowns. According to International Data Corporation (IDC) market research company, Apple has already shipped 40.3 million iPads this year, a 17.83% increase from the same period 12 months ago. On the down side, and presumably due to parts reallocation, consumers currently have to wait for up to six weeks to get a new iPad, according to Apple’s website.

 

Earlier reports stated that Apple also plans to slash its iPhone 13 production by as many as 10 million units during the upcoming holiday season from the previous target of 90 million, in order to deal with the growing shortage of semiconductors.

 

Acknowledging the impact of supply setbacks, Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said that the company’s revenue for July-September came up $6 billion short of expectations due to the “industry-wide silicon shortages and Covid-related manufacturing disruptions.” He added that the impact for the fourth quarter could be even worse.

The Conspiracy Theory That Says Trump Is a Genius

Last week Roseanne Barr — who, with the hit reboot of her show, has become one of the most prominent Donald Trump supporters in the country — tweeted that the president has freed hundreds of children a month from sexual bondage. “He has broken up trafficking rings in high places everywhere,” she wrote. (The tweet has since been deleted.)

Barr’s tweet, puzzling to the casual observer, was a reference to QAnon, an expansive, complicated pro-Trump conspiracy theory. The theory is fascinating as an artifact of our current political derangement, but more than that, it’s profoundly revealing about the lengths to which some Trump supporters will go to convince themselves that his presidency is going well.

As Paris Martineau explained in New York Magazine, QAnon was born last October, when someone claiming to have “Q” level security clearance started a cryptic thread on 4chan, the online message board and troll playground. It was titled, “The Calm Before the Storm,” a phrase Trump had recently used. Q posted hints, some in the form of questions, ostensibly meant to help clued-in Trump supporters understand what was really going on in Washington beneath the facade of chaos and incompetence. (“What is military intelligence? Why go around the 3 letter agencies?”)

From these clues, a sprawling community on message boards, YouTube videos and Twitter accounts has elaborated an enormous, ever-mutating fantasy narrative about the Trump presidency. In the QAnon reality, Trump only pretended to collude with Russia in order to create a pretext for the hiring of Robert Mueller, the special counsel, who is actually working with Trump to take down an inconceivably evil and powerful network of coup-plotters and child sex traffickers that includes Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and George Soros.

“QAnon points out that this is the beginning of the end for the Clintons,” said Jerome Corsi — a prominent proponent of the lie that Obama was born in Kenya — on a YouTube broadcast in January. He warned that the world would be forced to contend with “films of innocent children pleading for their lives while people are butchering them.” Once that happens, presumably, Trump will be revealed as a master of 12-dimensional chess who successfully distracted smirking elites with his buffoonery while he was quietly saving the world.

Posts on other websites, as well as YouTube videos, Twitter accounts and even a book, have taken the theory in countless directions, encompassing characters from the model Chrissy Teigen to disgraced politician Anthony Weiner. The creativity poured into QAnon is striking; it’s like something between a sprawling work of crowdsourced postmodern fiction and an immersive role-playing game.

But for many people, QAnon is very real. Barr has tried to make contact with Q on Twitter. InfoWars, the website run by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones — who has a close relationship with Trump confidant Roger Stone — has consistently promoted it. Last month, Cheryl Sullenger, senior vice president of the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue, posted an article on the group’s website about an “intel drop” from Q revealing a White House plan to end Planned Parenthood. Sean Hannity retweeted a post with the #QAnon hashtag.

Some elements of the QAnon conspiracy theory — secret elites, kidnapped children — are classic, even archetypical. “In all Western culture, you can argue that all conspiracy theories, no matter how diverse, come from the idea of the Jews abducting children,” Chip Berlet, the co-author of “Right-Wing Populism in America: Too Close for Comfort,” told me. Stories about globalists stealing children for sex aren’t that far removed from stories about Jews stealing children to use their blood making matzo.

One twist, however, makes QAnon unusual. Conspiracy theories are usually about evil cabals manipulating world events. In releasing funds to the military, it said, the bill would set off a climactic series of events: “Swamp drain begins, military seizes TRILLIONS in cabal assets, returning them to the people.” An inspector general report would then reveal the establishment’s unspeakable crimes, after which “the strings will be cut from the propaganda machine and people will stop falling for the garbage MSM,” or mainstream media. Trump, and those who believe in him, would be vindicated.

You don’t create a wild fantasy about your leader being a covert genius unless you understand that to most people, he looks like something quite different. You don’t need an occult story about how your side is secretly winning if it’s actually winning. Publicly, many right-wing politicians and pundits disdain the Mueller investigation and pretend to believe that Trump’s ties to Russia are negligible. But among part of the Trump base, the effort to explain them away appears to be creating psychic strain.

“You cannot possibly imagine the size of this,” said a Q dispatch last month. “Trust the plan. Trust there are more good than bad.” Q almost certainly doesn’t know any state secrets, but he, she, or they understand that some fervent Trump supporters require more reassurance than they’re willing to admit. Their desperate conviction that they will be proven right about Trump betrays a secret fear that they will be proven wrong.

To my Knowledge President Trump has been in the White House 3 times previously.

 

Tomorrow Wednesday, I am told he may well visit to make some calls in the morning.

 

I don't know if he would arrive by marine 1 or by car, or indeed when he might arrive.

 

But there is more excitement than usual around the Florida team.
