FOX News legal expert and author Gregg Jarrett told Lou Dobbs Tonight that the Supreme Court needs to get involved to prevent abuse of the FISA Court.

 

This comes after Judicial Watch reported on Friday that the Justice Department admitted in a court filing this week that the FISA court never held hearings on the FISA applications for former Trump advisor Carter Page.

 

Gregg Jarrett: He (Supreme Court Justice) appointed all 11 FISA judges and he is in charge of them. He should direct Rosemary Collyer, the presiding judge to hold a hearing, a show-cause hearing, why people shouldnโ€™t be held in contempt, haul the Department of Justice, the FBI in front of them and have them explain themselves. And if they donโ€™t to the satisfaction of the court, if the court believes there was a fraud on the court and surely there was here, then they should make a criminal referral to the Department of Justice against the DOJ officials and the FBI.

I'd add that "hearing" in the context of an ex parte procedure doesn't even make sense. The structure of FISA for particular warrants (not the bulk warrants) uses the phrase that the judges shall "hear" the applications (1801(a)(1)). Yet the applications must be submitted in writing (1804(a)).

 

The determination by the judge follows a formula, stated in 1805, that mirrors the contents specification in 1804. I imagine there might be occasions for objection or rejection of an application (see parallel in patent application, another ex parte process) where the applicant desires to advance his argument in person. But by this time, the formula for getting the "shall issue" formula correct is clear as a bell.

 

There is NOTHING in the statute for a hearing, other than hearing of the court sitting en banc. Those would be novel issues of law, I would think, and Carter Page application is not novel.

California Governor Jerry Brown is considering granting rights usually reserved to U.S. citizens to illegal aliens โ€“ after heโ€™s already extended some rights to illegal alien students.

Medinaโ€™s statement indicated that the bill included an โ€œurgency clauseโ€ which meant that it would go into effect immediately.

 

Hereโ€™s what Brown wants to do to California

 

Brown is considering signing a law passed by the California legislature that would grant illegal aliens the right to serve on planning commissions and state boards.

 

The bill is called the California Inclusion Act.

 

Brown has been a combative critic of the president and his policies, especially those having to do with illegal immigration. In April, Brown accused the president of waging a โ€œwar on Californiaโ€ through his immigration policies.

 

โ€œWe didnโ€™t get built on just the indigenous people, far from it, we destroyed the indigenous people and had nothing but immigration,โ€ Brown claimed at the time. โ€œThatโ€™s the story of California, I think we oughta remember that.โ€

 

Trump has specifically targeted California and its governor for his scorn.

The Center for American Progress has launched a crusade against the corroding influence of dark money in politics and so โ€ฆ CAP invited the biggest dark-money Democrat to an anticorruption, pro-voter summit. It was billed as a discussion with the โ€œkey congresspersons who are leading the fight to restructure the rules of democracy in order to rebalance power for the people.โ€ But Pelosi is more than happy with the current balance of power. Go check the Federal Election Commission reports. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Pelosi absolutely loves that PAC money. Between 1989 and 2019, the Democratic leader has racked up more than $7 million from the political action committees.

 

Donโ€™t hate the partisan player, some might respond, hate the current political incentives. And they would be right. The system rewards this kind of fundraising these days. Legislation alone isnโ€™t enough to leave a legacy. That requires a bundle of cash, and Pelosi has shown she is good for the money. This was a serious topic of discussion by many traders when we first got wind of this being built. It was around the same time that the hedge-funds figured out how truly screwed they were holding massive blocks of stock that were essentially illiquid pieces of paper if attempted to be traded in any size.

That was in 2006 right as the machines took all the humans out of the flow. The options markets were targeted first as the algos were tested on small markets. If you were stupid and used a market order you were never alerted to this game.

 

If any of you traded options in starting in 2006 with limit orders you saw this. It was the test phase of unleashing it upon the entire market.

That has been something I've thought about long and hard. I'll get 50K late Nov/early Dec and have thought about investing at LEAST $10K into silver as long as the prices are still under $20 an oz.

 

I saw the other day that someone said that we could no longer use silver for money because it's in such high demand for other uses now.

 

Thank you for confirming what I've already been thinking. I used to have $10K of silver from relatives who hoarded it and I sold it when prices approached $35 to 40 per oz but there are times I wish I hadn't sold it. Right now it's a huge bargain.

HONOLULU (KHON2) - A school project gone wrong that forced a 90-minute delay wasn't the only trouble for a Hawaii bound flight from Oakland.

Hawaiian Airlines has confirmed a second incident involving what passengers described as some type of pepper spray. We're told about half way into the flight people started coughing. Video sent to us by a witness shows a fire truck on the tarmac and emergency crews helping to get people off the plane safely and calmly.

 

As for the initial incident, Hawaiian Airlines says a teenage passenger inadvertently sent a photo of a school science project to passengers sitting nearby. The picture showed a fake crime scene and included a child-sized mannequin. Hawaiian Air says the teenager and the family were rebooked on a later flight while the incident was investigated.

 

KRON reports the project was for a biomed class, and that the student attempted to AirDrop a picture from the class project to her mom.

Anon, I'm starting to think that under the guise of 'preserving the Republic' and 'national security', most of what we know will never be exposed. I've been watching the springfield MO craigslist for over 5 years now because that's the area that I'd like to be in. I've seen 10 acres with a decent house LISTED for $40k and I've seen 40 acres listed for $55K. Listed being the key word. I am out of that area so have only taken a couple vacations there in 10 years. Spent 3 months there in 2010. Beautiful area just hard to find farmable land for permaculture. A good friend of mine bought 8 acres with a cabin for $25k which we found by visiting about 20 realtors around Bull Shoals.

 

I don't keep spreadsheets because I'm not looking in a specific area but that's part of what I'll probably do once I drill down better.

 

Right now it's depressing because I've seen some really good deals go by and right now the market is high. But I have noticed that from about Nov-March the market just drops like a rock and April-August the market is sky high.

 

I just hope the cycle keeps repeating itself. Thank you anon for your suggestions.
