Threatening to Report Certain Undocumented People Now a Crime in NY

New York State has made it a crime to threaten to report certain undocumented immigrants to the authorities. The state's first woman Governor, Kathy Hochul, signed the bill (S.343-A/A.3412-A) into law. It gives protections to undocumented people in cases of labor trafficking and sex trafficking. Threatening to tell authorities about their immigration status can now be considered potential extortion or coercion offenses. Prosecutors do have the discretion to use the legal protection in cases that don't involve sex or labor trafficking also.

Gov. Hochul spoke about the importance of the new legislation to protect immigrants in New York,

"New York is built on the hard work and determination of generations of immigrants, and we need to support people who are trying to build better lives for themselves and their families. This legislation will protect New Yorkers from bad actors who use extortion or coercion due to their immigration status, and make our state safer against vile threats and intimidation."

Similar legislation has been passed in states like California and Colorado. New York's law is based on a model provided by The Public Leadership Institute titled "Prevent Extortion of Immigrants Act."

New York Senator Anna M. Kaplan spoke about how threatening to report an undocumented immigrant's status have have life or death consequences,

"For an undocumented immigrant who fled danger in their home country, being reported to ICE can be a death sentence, yet sadly, far too many people are willing to take advantage of our more vulnerable neighbors by threatening to reveal their immigration status in order to exploit them in some way. By enacting this long-overdue measure, we're updating the laws on extortion and coercion to ensure that immigrant New Yorkers aren't left vulnerable to such vile threats. I'm extremely grateful for Assemblymember Solages and her partnership in addressing this issue, and for Governor Hochul for ensuring that our communities are safe and protected."

"Final Straw": Erdogan Signals New Turkish Military Operation In Syria, Sending Lira Plunging

On Monday Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that he's preparing "necessary steps" in Syria to eliminate the "YPG threat", Turkish media reported.

The pledge of what appears to be a coming military operation along the Syrian border area comes after reports of two Turkish police officers killed and multiple more wounded in Azaz in northern Syria, according to an Interior Ministry press release Sunday. "We have run out of patience," Erdogan told reporters. "Turkey is determined to eliminate threats arising from northern Syria, either together with forces active there, or with our own means."

"The latest attack on our police and the harassment that targets our soil are the final straw," Erdogan said. Turkey considers Syria's Kurdish YPG an offshoot of the PKK - long dubbed a "terrorist" group that Ankara has for decades attempted to eradicate.

According Al Jazeera, citing Turkish officials, the police deaths were accompanied by rocket fire from Syrian Kurdish positions onto towns inside Turkey:

Separately, projectiles that landed in two separate areas caused explosions in Turkey’s southern Gaziantep province, across the border from Syria’s Jarablus city, the governor’s office said.

A third landed in Jarablus and was believed launched from a region controlled by the YPG…

Turkey is being fought in Syria's north by both the US-backed Syrian Kurds and the Assad government, given Turkish national forces as well as anti-Assad jihadist groups supported by Turkey have annexed broad swathes of northern Syria territory along the border. Pro-Turkish forces have also over the years come under attack by Russian warplanes, creating lasting tensions between Ankara and the Kremlin.

Dead Body Found Near Fort Hood, Authorities Say

TEXAS – Authorities said Monday they had recovered a dead body just outside Fort Hood.

The person, a male, was located around 10:30 a.m. local time “after a Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) train reported observing a body lying next to the tracks three-quarters-of-a-mile west of South Fort Hood Street along U.S. 190,” according to KWTX.

Arizona Attorney General Fires Off Letter to Secretary of State — Demands Documents Based on Forensic Audit Results

The Gateway Pundit determined last week that following the AZ Senate Audit nearly 700,000 ballots in Maricopa County had issues as identified in the audit and canvassing of the county.

These issues are not likely mutually exclusive but give a very good indication that the 2020 Election in Arizona was full of tenss of thousands of invalid ballots.

We’ve put together our updated list of issues identified over the past few weeks related to the 2020 Election in Arizona. After the canvassing and the audit reports were finalized, we’ve identified nearly 700,000 ballots at issue (which may not be mutually exclusive).

The largest issue reported was related to early voting files which do not include early votes included in the final voted file.

The second-largest issue we noted in the Cyber Ninja report included 86,000 ballots where the insureds have no related fingerprints at all, which in this day and age seems very unlikely.

Cyber Ninja’s in their report also listed more than 57,000 issues in ballots in various areas.

On Monday Jennifer Wright the Arizona Assistant Attorney General fired off a letter to the Arizona Secretary of State’s office requesting information related to registration list maintenance in the State of Arizona.

Raiders Coach Resigns After Leaked Emails Show He Called Joe Biden a “Nervous Clueless Pus*y”

Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden resigned Monday evening after leaked private emails revealed he called Joe Biden a “nervous clueless pussy.”

The New York Times obtained a trove of emails showing Jon Gruden made so-called “misogynistic and homophobic” comments over the years.

Gruden lashed out at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and called him a “faggot” and a “clueless anti football pussy” according to emails reviewed by the New York Times.

Jon Gruden also exercised his First Amendment right and criticized Barack Obama and Joe Biden (gasp).

The New York Times reported:

When the vaunted N.F.L. coach Jon Gruden was confronted with a racist email he had sent in 2011 to insult the head of the players’ union, he said he went too far but didn’t have “a blade of racism” in him.

But league officials as part of a separate workplace misconduct investigation that did not directly involve him have found that Gruden, now the coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, casually and frequently unleashed misogynistic and homophobic language over several years to denigrate people around the game and to mock some of the league’s momentous changes.

Gruden’s messages were sent to Bruce Allen, the former president of the Washington Football Team, and others, while he was working for ESPN as a color analyst during “Monday Night Football,” the sports network’s weekly prime-time telecast of N.F.L. games. In the emails, Gruden called the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, a “faggot” and a “clueless anti football pussy” and said that Goodell should not have pressured Jeff Fisher, then the coach of the Rams, to draft “queers,” a reference to Michael Sam, a gay player chosen by the team in 2014.

Gruden also criticized President Obama during his re-election campaign in 2012, as well as then-vice president Joe Biden, whom Gruden called a “nervous clueless pussy.” He used similar words to describe Goodell and DeMaurice Smith, the executive director of the N.F.L. Players Association.

The league is already investigating Gruden as a result of another email he wrote to Allen in 2011 in which he used racist terms to describe Smith, who is Black.

In that email, Gruden, who is white and was working for ESPN at the time, criticized Smith’s intelligence and used a racist trope to describe his face. The correspondence was first reported by The Wall Street Journal and confirmed by The New York Times.

I can confirm that a ruger 10\22 with standard cheap .22LR rimfire ammo is much quieter than some of my heaviest .177 spring piston airguns.
