The study, released Jan. 27 by a team of U.S. and U.K researchers, found, โ€œIt is possible that some patients treated with molnupiravir might not fully clear SARS-CoV-2 infections, with the potential for onward transmission of molnupiravir-mutated viruses.โ€

 

Merck received significant taxpayer funding from the Biden administration to develop and distribute molnupiravir, and the U.S. government bought nearly 2 million courses of the drug on the taxpayerโ€™s dime.

 

The study, which is pending peer review, followed the discovery by a middle school science and math teacher in Indiana who found numerous variants of COVID-19 emerged after molnupiravir began to be widely distributed.

 

Scientists had long warned that the development of such mutations from the use of molnupiravir was possible.

 

โ€œItโ€™s not a surprise that molnupiravir could cause [the] escape of mutant virus strains or substrains into the population,โ€ said Dr. Harvey Risch. โ€œIts main function is to get the virus to mutate faster.โ€

 

Risch, professor emeritus and senior research scientist in epidemiology (chronic diseases) at the Yale School of Public Health, told The Defender:

 

โ€œThe idea is that it will mutate itself to death. But some live mutants could get out, and this paper gives evidence that they have.โ€

 

Brian Hooker, Ph.D., P.E., chief scientific officer for Childrenโ€™s Health Defense, said the studyโ€™s authors scanned global SARS-CoV-2 sequence databases looking for mutations characteristic of those by molnupiravir (G-to-A and C-to-U) and found an uptick of those mutants starting in 2022 โ€” after molnupiravir was put on the market and specifically in countries where molnupiravir was distributed.

 

โ€œAlthough this isnโ€™t โ€˜direct proofโ€™ that the mutations came directly from molnupiravir use,โ€ Hooker told The Defender, โ€œthe evidence is very compelling, confirming the fears of many who warned of this prior to FDA [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] approval of the drug in late 2021.โ€

 

The FDA granted molnupiravir Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) on Dec. 23, 2021, for use in mild-to-moderate COVID-19 infections in patients 18 and over.

 

The EUA came just one day after the FDA authorized Pfizerโ€™s COVID-19 antiviral treatment Paxlovid.

 

Merck this week announced massive revenues from sales of molnupiravir in 2022, but projected a significant decrease in those sales in 2023.

 

The FDA on Wednesday removed the requirement that a person has to test positive for COVID-19 in order to get a prescription for molnupiravir or Paxlovid.

 

โ€˜I think we are courting disasterโ€™

 

Molnupiravir โ€œworks by creating mutations in the COVID-19 genome that prevent the virus from replicating in the body, reducing the chances it will cause severe illness,โ€ according to Bloomberg.

 

However, according to Science, the findings of the preprint study suggest โ€œsome people treated with the drug generate novel viruses that not only remain viable, but spread.โ€

 

This finding โ€œunderscores the risk of trying to intentionally alter the pathogenโ€™s genetic code,โ€ leading some researchers to โ€œworry the drug may create more contagious or health-threatening variations of COVID,โ€ Bloomberg reported.

 

Virologist William Haseltine, Ph.D., chair and president of ACCESS Health International, has repeatedly raised such concerns about molnupiravir.

 

โ€œItโ€™s very clear that viable mutant viruses can survive [molnupiravir treatment] and compete [with existing variants],โ€ Haseltine told Science. โ€œI think we are courting disaster.โ€

Mayo Clinic was founded by Masons.

 

In 1889 the Sisters of St. Francis founded St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., with a medical staff of just three men: British-born physician William Worrall Mayo (1819-1911) and his two sons, William James (born 1861 and trained in medicine at the University of Michigan) and Charles Horace (born 1865 and trained at the Chicago Medical College). They were among the first to insist on sterile conditions in the operating rooma practice their father disparaged as uselessand to adopt the use of X rays as a diagnostic tool. In 1915, with an initial endowment of $1.5 million, they established the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, later part of the University of Minnesota. KAIT reports that 26-year-old Candice Elizabeth Johnson was arrested on Wednesday after police found evidence that she was having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student at her place of work.

 

According to the Kennett Police Department, it recently received information that Johnson, who was working as a nurse at Kennett High School, had been involved sexually with a student at the school.

 

Officers said the student told them that the relationship was happening since October 2022.

I had to settle for Eggland's Best eggs @3.99 because the generica HyVee eggs were 7.99

 

Read that right, the store either goofed or wanted to move old stock. The eggs are fine. I can't recall another time I paid less for the name brand, it was always substantially higher and it's like Turkey. Turkey don't know it's a Butterball until they slap that sticker on it.

Lidl is overall a good store for what it is but it is more generic and canned than a fresh foods grocer. They do get somethings right that are better than brand names (20%) and some things extremely wrong (80%) compared to brand names. Little of anything in between. They are just about as expensive now as fresh, so in reality it is a detriment to society without the price vantage.

People in medical make way too much for what they offer due to pharma keeping everyone sick. Not much engineering left in the US as most factories and IT work has been outsourced not so much because it is profitable but because it is an attack on America itself. I just legit bought Le Creuset ceramic cast iron skillets specifically to fry chicken. Nothing else makes it taste as good as Grandma's chicken. Those store bought already cooked chickens aren't bad, add the veg and it's cheap easy and you're right, healthier than McD- I went there for the first time in 3 years and it was awful. Anon is old enough to remember when McD was really good. Burger King was delicious, Dairy Queen's burgers were great. Even Taco Bell before they changed the meat, it was good. 3/$1. too.

 

Our McD looked like this and they built the modern looking building around it and never stopped selling burgers during the construction. Anon got to eat McD as a kid exactly once, when family came to visit. We never ate out.

As far as the boiled egg, if your eggs are fresh you will have a harder time peeling them. You will tear off chunks of white and leave blobby craters. Also, if you boil them for thirty or forty minutes, the yolks would be like rubber, would be my guess.

Here is a trick to combat hunger for those that have to deal with it for one reason or another. Try concentrating on the back of your throat / esophagus area in the neck keeping it closed. It also works even if you have acid reflux due to hunger. Then breath through your nose, let it fill your belly/stomach, then open and let the hot air from the acid out. The APโ€™s style guide was updated to direct journalists to put the term โ€œcrisis pregnancy centerโ€ in quotation marks and to refer to them as โ€œanti-abortionโ€ centers.

The Daily Signal reported:

The AP added this entry between Nov. 20 and Nov. 27, 2022, according to The Daily Signalโ€™s search of the Wayback Machine. The guide describes the centers as โ€œset up to divert or discourage women from having abortionsโ€ and warns writers against โ€œpotentially misleading termsโ€ like โ€œpregnancy resource centers or pregnancy counseling centers.โ€

โ€œIf using the term anti-abortion center, explain later that these often are known as โ€˜crisis pregnancy centersโ€™ (with quotation marks) and that their aim is to dissuade people from getting an abortion,โ€ the style guide entry states.

Thomas Glessner, president of the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, told the news outlet that journalists adhering to these guidelines are โ€œdisgracefulโ€ and argued that โ€œif they actually cared about integrity, they would know that pregnancy centers seek to help women who are facing unplanned pregnancies with material and emotional support.โ€

The Associated Pressโ€™ stylebook is the most commonly used among journalists and news outlets. Its guidance tends to be followed across the board, with some exceptions.

Naturally, the pro-abortion lobby was ecstatic by the new guidance. Planned Parenthood advocates of Nebraska celebrated the style change.

โ€œPlease see a recent update in AP style, which avoids the use of โ€˜fetal heartbeatโ€™ bill since this legislation addresses neither a fetus (itโ€™s still an embryo) nor a heartbeat (it hasnโ€™t yet developed a heart),โ€ the organization said in a blog post on Thursday.

The Daily Signal continued, noting that the AP also prohibits use of the term โ€œpro-lifeโ€ and advises writers to use โ€œanti-abortion or abortion-rightsโ€ instead.

The report continued:

The โ€œAbortion Topical Guideโ€ instructs journalists to refer to fetal heartbeats as โ€œcardiac activity,โ€ avoid crediting the โ€œabortion pill reversal process,โ€ and never use the term โ€œlate-termโ€ abortion or refer to unborn babies as โ€œpain-capableโ€ until after 24 weeks, despite evidence that the unborn can feel pain at 15 weeks or earlier.

This is only one of several attacks pro-abortion organizations and politicians have launched against crisis pregnancy centers. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has been on a years-long crusade to minimize the impact these organizations have on decreasing abortions. Indeed, the spate of firebombings and other acts of vandalism perpetrated against these groups shows that those who support abortion are terrified at the idea that more mothers would choose to give birth instead of killing their babies.

Biohackers Encoded Malware in a Strand of DNA

Researchers planted a working hacker exploit in a physical strand of DNA.

 

When biologists synthesize DNA, they take pains not to create or spread a dangerous stretch of genetic code that could be used to create a toxin or, worse, an infectious disease. But one group of biohackers has demonstrated how DNA can carry a less expected threatโ€”one designed to infect not humans nor animals but computers.

 

In new research they plan to present at the USENIX Security conference on Thursday, a group of researchers from the University of Washington has shown for the first time that itโ€™s possible to encode malicious software into physical strands of DNA, so that when a gene sequencer analyzes it the resulting data becomes a program that corrupts gene-sequencing software and takes control of the underlying computer. While that attack is far from practical for any real spy or criminal, it's one the researchers argue could become more likely over time, as DNA sequencing becomes more commonplace, powerful, and performed by third-party services on sensitive computer systems. And, perhaps more to the point for the cybersecurity community, it also represents an impressive, sci-fi feat of sheer hacker ingenuity.

 

โ€œWe know that if an adversary has control over the data a computer is processing, it can potentially take over that computer,โ€ says Tadayoshi Kohno, the University of Washington computer science professor who led the project, comparing the technique to traditional hacker attacks that package malicious code in web pages or an email attachment. โ€œThat means when youโ€™re looking at the security of computational biology systems, youโ€™re not only thinking about the network connectivity and the USB drive and the user at the keyboard but also the information stored in the DNA theyโ€™re sequencing. Itโ€™s about considering a different class of threat.โ€

 

A Sci-Fi Hack

For now, that threat remains more of a plot point in a Michael Crichton novel than one that should concern computational biologists. But as genetic sequencing is increasingly handled by centralized servicesโ€”often run by university labs that own the expensive gene sequencing equipmentโ€”that DNA-borne malware trick becomes ever so slightly more realistic. Especially given that the DNA samples come from outside sources, which may be difficult to properly vet.

 

If hackers did pull off the trick, the researchers say they could potentially gain access to valuable intellectual property, or possibly taint genetic analysis like criminal DNA testing. Companies could even potentially place malicious code in the DNA of genetically modified products, as a way to protect trade secrets, the researchers suggest. "There are a lot of interestingโ€”or threatening may be a better wordโ€”applications of this coming in the future," says Peter Ney, a researcher on the project.

 

Regardless of any practical reason for the research, however, the notion of building a computer attackโ€”known as an "exploit"โ€”with nothing but the information stored in a strand of DNA represented an epic hacker challenge for the University of Washington team. The researchers started by writing a well-known exploit called a "buffer overflow," designed to fill the space in a computer's memory meant for a certain piece of data and then spill out into another part of the memory to plant its own malicious commands.

 

But encoding that attack in actual DNA proved harder than they first imagined. DNA sequencers work by mixing DNA with chemicals that bind differently to DNA's basic units of codeโ€”the chemical bases A, T, G, and Cโ€”and each emit a different color of light, captured in a photo of the DNA molecules. To speed up the processing, the images of millions of bases are split up into thousands of chunks and analyzed in parallel. So all the data that comprised their attack had to fit into just a few hundred of those bases, to increase the likelihood it would remain intact throughout the sequencer's parallel processing.

 

The result, finally, was a piece of attack software that could survive the translation from physical DNA to the digital format, known as FASTQ,

I wish to bring forth an understanding that is emerging as rays of energy, light and wisdom, continuously extending from the Creator. These create phases of Ascension, times of focus, subjects that are focused upon, and so, it means that if you flow with the Ascension energies it is almost like you are partaking in a spiritual school. As we recognise the energies coming forth at this time, they are focused upon power and there is an area within the Ascension shift that is focused upon accessing wisdom and knowledge from either past or simultaneous lifetimes. When you work with simultaneous or past lifetimes, it is often that you are discovering areas that require healing or to be released. The blockage or limitation, the tension or whatever is stored within that space can be released, overcome and you can step forward in your Ascension. You may see their points sticking out from above the soil. Gradually these crystals will emerge especially when you focus upon them. You can achieve this in meditation and you can bring your attention to one crystal or jewel and invite it to emerge from the soil within your soul ashram. Allow yourself to pick it up and hold it. To recognise that this is a jewel/crystal holds energy from a past or simultaneous lifetime. This is something that you have been waiting to acknowledge. It might be a skill, a tool, an understanding, or a source of inspiration you have been waiting to receive, because it is something that will impact your reality. Allow yourself to sit with this jewel and let its energy melt into your being. Imagine it is like an ice cube, as you hold it, it melts into a liquid light that flows into your palms, your arms and into your entire being. Then meditate in the colour of the light, the sensation or simply acknowledge its presence allowing it to integrate into your being.

 

These are time capsules from past or simultaneous lifetimes and your soul will make sure that you receive the ones that are most appropriate for now. These time capsules are not about healing the past or simultaneous lifetimes or letting something go. They encourage you to accept, absorb the truth and your power. What do you discover that will encourage you to be in your power?

 

There may be many or just one jewel to discover in the garden of your soul. Take time to explore and to absorb what is necessary. If you are unable to understand consciously, or with your mind, what is held within these time capsules, it is okay, you can simply absorb and accept. You may notice in the coming days or weeks something new, a new energy or inspiration. You might find yourself being drawn to a new activity. This will be you awakening your time capsule. And as we have said, it is all about you being in your power. Everything you receive is sacred and will support you in accessing your own divine power.

Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf dies at 79

The ex-leader has passed away in a hospital in the UAE

 

Former Pakistani president and military leader, Pervez Musharraf, passed away at the age of 79 in Dubai on Sunday, where he had been living in self-imposed exile. His family announced in June that Musharraf was hospitalized with amyloidosis, a rare disease involving the build-up of proteins in organs.

 

Pakistanโ€™s political and military officials expressed condolences over Musharrafโ€™s death. โ€œMay Allah bless the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family,โ€ the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, said in a statement.

 

Musharraf joined the army at 18 and fought in the 1965 Indo-Pakistani war. He rose through the ranks and was appointed Chief of Army Staff in 1998. The next year, Musharraf overthrew the government in a bloodless coup.

 

Musharraf closely allied the country with the US during Washingtonโ€™s global โ€œwar on terrorโ€that was launched in the wake of the 9/11 attacks on American soil. As a result, the he became a target of Al-Qaeda and other extremists and had survived at least three assassination attempts. Pakistan, meanwhile, grew increasingly reliant on military and security aid from the US.

 

At home, Musharraf enacted several liberal reforms that sought to expand the rights of women and modernize the country. At the same time, opponents accused him of authoritarianism when he suspended the constitution in 2007 and imposed a state of emergency across Pakistan. Musharraf eventually resigned in August 2008 amid an effort to impeach him.

 

In 2014, Pakistanโ€™s top court indicted Musharraf for high treason in connection with his 2007 emergency rule. The former president left for the UAE for medical treatment in 2016 and had not returned since.

 

In 2019, the court sentenced Musharraf to death. The ex-president appealed the verdict, which was then overturned in 2020.

 

Musharraf denied the accusations of treason. In 2010, he apologized for past mistakes. โ€œI take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to the whole nation for those wrong decisions,โ€he told supporters at the time. โ€œI have learned my lessons and I am very sure I will not repeat them again.โ€

In this study we have attempted to answer what happens to a H 2 O-CO 2 (C-O-H) mixture subjected to high pressure and temperature in contact with rocks.

 

Several studies point to the possibility of CH 4 formation in the upper mantle. Indeed, flow of methane of abiotic origin is well documented.

 

Experiments have demonstrated the transition of CH4 (Methane) into heavy hydrocarbons in the absence of oxygen .

 

Whether the C-C bond characteristic to heavy hydrocarbons will emerge in a H 2 O-CO 2 mixture under the conditions of deep Earth interior remains unknown.

 

Such a bond, if formed, would indicate a possibility of endogenic oil synthesis.

 

The mixture of H2O and CO2 subjected to high pressure (130 GPa) and temperature (4000 to 4500 K) alone does not lead to synthesis of complex hydrocarbons.

 

However, when Fe is added to the system, C-C bonds emerge.

 

While formation of abiotic methane in nature is known, for the first time we demonstrate the synthesis of hydrocarbons with a C-C bond

 

under conditions that are typical of the Earth core-mantle boundary.

Many fires went out but the lava was burning non stop. That is actually how I got a fire chief to disconnect hoses so we could bring in heavy equipment around Liberty plaze cause I told him we are going to be fighting some of these fires for days that's lava. He agreed and sent his quickest hose changers.

What I heard is that the helicopter pilots were afraid of being overwhelmed by the numbers of people that had to be saved. There wasn't proper deployments as far as I am concerned and that has to be investigated.

I honestly think, there was a deliberate attempt to have as many people killed as possible. This was an organized crime. For example, there are stories of some security at ground level were telling people to go back and wait for help? We have 911 operators telling people to stay put and wait for help to arrive as we have the audio recordings.
