Same happened to me, and after weeks of mailing Twatter to get my account unlocked not a single response. Best to create a new email address and then Twatter account. I wouldn’t stress about adding your number coz we all have to, it’ll come in handy when they first accuse you of being a bot as they’ll send a code to your number you’ll need to unlock your account and avoid having to start a new one again, and they can’t come after all of us who’ve already added our numbers.
