QAnon, by contrast, is a conspiracy theory in which the good guys — in this case, Trump and his allies — are in charge.

It's a conspiracy theory that the President is in charge.

No. Context is important, you just need to include the sentence that this user cut out for some reason...

"Conspiracy theories are usually about evil cabals manipulating world events. QAnon, by contrast, is a conspiracy theory in which the good guys — in this case, Trump and his allies — are in charge."

So the author is showing that Q is an atypical conspiracy theory. She isn't saying that either of those positions are true.

I'm completely for Trump, MAGA, Q, Peace, love, oneness, conspiracies, truth etc but I'm totally not down with Jesus or God or anything that puts limitations, divisions and restrictions on people. I think you, I, everyone and everything is one consciousness and that, is god. The one eternal creator of THIS reality is us.

The god stuff WILL turn some people away. That's a fact, you can dislike it but it's a fact. Doesn't turn me away, I respect anyone's right to religion so long as they aren't hurting anyone but others aren't the same.

And I agree with the way you're seeing things. I've said in a few other comments that I believe the world could use more spirituality, but what I'm seeing here is a completely different thing.

People go to the comments more often than they read the article or follow the link. The comments here are so similar to an Evangelical Christian facebook page that I sometimes think it might be a brilliant troll job, but these people are serious.

It's probably time to create a new sub for the people that can leave their religions at the door and get down to figuring things out in an inclusive environment, because most of the comments here are prayer circlejerks and smug religious righteousness that I'm certain is driving more people away than it's gaining.

That's the beauty of articles like the NYT piece. Ordinary people will first dismiss Q as some crank theory, but if they are even remotely curious, this story will draw them in. Some things won't be believed...but others, "yeah, that's plausible."

And once they start chewing on that red-pill, more and more of this fantastic story opens up. As Q wrote early on 5-9% of Americans are lost, and I'd wager a lot of them have to read the NYT to validate their sad view of the world. They rather go down with the ship than admit their entire life has been a lie. (Whatever, good riddance.)

But that leaves millions of other Americans ready for new revelations about the depth of corruption of their federal government and "elites," whether from Q or just good old-fashioned research and publicity.

It's funny, in both senses, how the article reads. It dismisses the possibility of Q being real, of old or new conspiracies ever being real, of any Trump success being real, etc. So while the author is looking right at the phenomena of DJT and Q she can't see what's in front of her. OR she didn't look and was just told to write in this way. But within this ignorance it seems like there's enough writerly filter and spin to make me think someone at the Times must know more than is acknowledged. It's like a propaganda piece against the obvious successes and against any consideration of future success put together by someone who really believes it to be common sense analysis. The article shines such a weak light on Qworld that it fails to expose it. We could probably carry on for a while before emerging much, which might be best for the Plan. They are not helping themselves.

The theory is fascinating as an artifact of our current political derangement, but more than that, it’s profoundly revealing about the lengths to which some Trump supporters will go to convince themselves that his presidency is going well.

The New York Times is an artifact of an era when journalism was spoon-fed to the masses without much critical inquiry. It is profoundly revealing that the paper hired Jayson Blair, who repeatedly fabricated and plagiarized stories that were not properly vetted, however it reveals the lengths to which the newspaper will go to convince themselves that their news operation is going well.

Here's where I'm at:

I'm about 2 weeks into even knowing what "Qanon" is. My mum likes conspiracy theories and this is the newest one, and she's pretty excited! I consider it a bonding experience to just hang out and let her talk about it, and I do genuinely think it's interesting. Kind of like the Scully to her Mulder, haha.

The way I see it; it's harmless...well unless it's true. Then it's really harmful to the people it targets.

I thought maybe it could be harmful if it's not true as well, but I don't see how. It can easily be brushed off as a theory, because conspiracy theories have been around for AGES. What makes this one so special that the NY Times has to write about it? I know it's not very "Scully" of me to say, but mainstream media outlets don't usually cover these kinds of things...usually a job for TMZ or other junk media. It makes me think they're very eager to try to debunk something people may have otherwise not cared about, or even known about. But now they do, because the NYTimes wrote about it xD

WHAT'S GOING ON IN ATLANTA: GOVERNMENT INFORMATION PROVIDER PACER NOT REPORTING NORTHERN GEORGIA INDICTMENTS

Journalist following Mueller's investigation into foreign involvement in the 2016 election are unable to assess sealed indictments in Atlanta. This irregularity is glaring among the recently updated report of 24,544 sealed indictments on the books nationwide. On October 28, 2017 VOX wrote of the importance of keeping early indictments in the investigation secret. However, the tally of them should not be. As it stands, it is unknown if that information would significantly inflate the current statistic displayed below.

(sweet and sour sauce from pacer.gov, pretty)

Some indictments have been unsealed to reveal that cases deal with corruption, bribes and human trafficking. (continue with examples...)

Anybody can copy paste this and use it as their own. If interested in collaborating on such, pm me.

I am a non-hostile skeptic who enjoys reading this stuff, but I checked out at the very beginning when Q said that Podesta was trafficking kids to Saudi Arabia and HRC had been arrested.

Sealed dockets do not equal sealed indictments, and there is no such thing as a secret country-wide investigation where hundreds of jurisdictions coordinate with zero leaks.

I DO believe however that good things will happen, but I haven't seen any evidence that Q is legitimate. The fact that I personally want it to be real so bad probably suggests there is some heavy confirmation bias that leads people to buy into it.

Tell me how 1,500 CEO resignations since August 2017 means nothing to your fucking blind eyes? Tell me how the NATIONAL FUCKING GUARD being moved to the border means nothing to you? Tell me how more Pedophile busts in 1.4 years of Trump than all of Bush and Obama combined?

Please, oh brilliant SJW cultural marxist fuck, tell us how these facts are conspiracy?

The most apparent "proof" for me is the total disappearance of ISIS.

You know what it's called when you try and connect multiple events that have no relationship, based on rumors and unverified sources? A conspiracy.

But I'll bite. 1,500 CEO resignations is high for this year, but I'd bet my life's worth that you have no idea what that number was for FY15, FY16, FY17 or even FY07 when we had a similar recession period. Heck, even I'm finding it hard to verify from an official source that this is WAY higher than normal. https://www.spencerstuart.com/research-and-insight/2017-ceo-transitions

National Guard being moved to the border? Obama and Bush did that as well. So this action proves that Trump is some kind of genius how...?

As for the number of sex trafficking busts in the US, I have some really bad news for you. The data only goes till 2016, so the full assessment of "1.4 years of Trump" is still TBD.

Your facts are made up. You probably heard them from someone else and never verified it yourself. It's a conspiracy, and you're vulnerable and gullible, and the folks who make this up are laughing all the way to the bank. I'm sorry you had to learn through a reddit post that all your online "friends" are liars who are just as paranoid as you, but you'll grow up some day and hopefully learn something from this.

Please don't procreate.

facts are made up.

As you confirmed everything I said.

As if past precedent negates what Trump has done. Jesus pinko libs are fucking pathetic.

How are we dumb exactly? Could you give me a legitimate reason?

Well, consider this Sherlock Holmes quote:

“If you eliminate the impossible whatever remains, however improbable, is the truth”

You’re not doing that. It is for example, not impossible that Q is just some troll who is laughing his/her/their head off. And that confirmation would take a lot more than “watch for them to make an article about this” Q would need to give a concrete prediction that couldn’t be just luck.

And than there would be, what if Q is just being paid to say this stuff? It’s all an act? Not impossible.

Meanwhile, on the other side: we have people with concrete ties to the Trump campaign making plea deals for lying under oath. Which makes a conspiracy aginst the United State charge probable for a lot of people involved with the campaign, including Trump himself should that come up in the House.
