I just inspected the construction on The Kennedy Center. It is really looking good! The exterior columns, which were in serious danger of corrosion if something weren’t done, are completed, and look magnificent in White Enamel — Like a different place! Marble is being done, stages are being renovated, new seats, new chairs, and new fabrics will soon be installed, and magnificent high end carpeting throughout the building. It is happening faster than anticipated, one of my trademarks. My people are doing a really great job! We are bringing this building back to life. Mm. I have mixed thoughts. It’s our job, under the Constitution, to give them term limits by voting them out. Our job. We’ve failed at that egregiously over the years, until they could stay in long enough to guarantee they would always win. Rigging gerrymandering, illegals whatever.

The next course of action is a constitutional amendment BUT. no matter how an amendment is introduced, (Convention of states ) the process passes into the control of Congress for editing. A very corrupt Congress that we have, too.

This makes a real possibility for what legal scholars term a ‘runaway convention’ where Congress just does what the fuck they want with the constitution once you open the door for them to get their hands on it.

Authorities in Russia’s southern Republic of Dagestan have honored 34 local hunters who helped repel Ukrainian drone attacks.

Dagestan’s interior minister, General Abdurashid Magomedov, met with the hunters on Thursday to personally thank them for their efforts, according to footage shared by his spokesman online.

The Russian Defense Ministry last reported a Ukrainian drone raid on Dagestan on October 22, when it said 13 aircraft were intercepted. At the time, a viral video showed a group of hunters shooting down a low-flying unmanned aircraft.

Magomedov said the Dagestani government’s volunteer defense initiative found public support all across the region and said the hunters were acting with honor by participating.

Dagestan’s mountainous terrain and its culture of gun ownership have long made it a stronghold of local self-defense. The region’s militias famously played a key role in repelling a jihadist incursion from neighboring Chechnya in August 1999.

So here are a couple of thoughts that have been rattling around in my head re: 3i/Atlas.

Assuming it is not of natural origin:

1) There has been lots of speculation about why an alien race would bother to send a vessel here given the time involved. What if it was a mistake? What if someone just forgot to set the parking brake?

2) Maybe it is a "catch me if you can" scenario? It is sent out and if a civilization is advanced enough to physically intercept it then they are of interest to whoever sent it. If they can't then they aren't important enough to matter.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is misleading the public about a drone threat allegedly posed by Russia, Sahra Wagenknecht, the leader of the left-wing BSW party, has said.

The chancellor did not hesitate to link recent unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sightings across Germany to Moscow even though he had no evidence, she told the broadcaster ZDF on Thursday.

According to Wagenknecht, Merz was blowing the issue out of proportion, with the German media unquestioningly adopting his point of view, even though evidence pointed in the other direction.

“Mr. Merz goes on TV… and lies,” she said, adding that the chancellor made his statements after some of the incidents had either been proven to have no connection to Russia or turned out to have never happened at all.

“It’s simply a vague suspicion, which has been largely refuted, and then discussed by the chancellor on public television.”

She was referring to the chancellor’s interview with the German broadcaster ARD earlier this month, when he said that “our suspicion is that Russia is behind most of these drone launches” and called the UAVs a “serious threat to our security.”

The interview came just days after the German police said that a drone incident at Frankfurt airport was caused by a local UAV enthusiast.

Claims of drone sightings near a military base in northern Germany in early October were also refuted by the Bundeswehr, which stated that “there were no registered drone overflights” in the area, “contrary to the media reports.”

Several drone sightings were reported over critical German infrastructure earlier this month. One such incident led to dozens of canceled flights at Munich airport.

The developments prompted some officials, including Merz, to claim the drone flights had been orchestrated by Moscow.

Moscow has repeatedly denied any connection to the incidents. Berlin has “no reasons” to blame Moscow for the recent drone sightings, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in early October, commenting on Merz’s interview with ARD.

So when my wife asked how did our phone number change when she called the # on the back of the card, the operator told her, that she probably typed in the wrong phone number when setting up the account. Could you believe this? Kiev trying to hide ‘catastrophe’ of encircled troops – Moscow

Ukraine has effectively acknowledged the “catastrophic situation” faced by its troops in a Russian encirclement by banning journalists from reaching them, the Russian Defense Ministry has said.

On Thursday, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tikhy warned media workers against accepting Russian President Vladimir Putin’s offer of safe passage to the front line in Donbass to report on thousands of Kiev’s troops surrounded by Russian forces.

Traveling to the area without permission from Kiev would be “a violation of our legislation” that would have “long-term reputational and legal consequences,” Tikhy said.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement on Friday that Ukraine had banned local and foreign journalists from accessing the “cauldrons” in order to “conceal the real state of affairs on the front line and deceive the international community and the Ukrainian people.”

The situation for Kiev’s forces encircled in Krasnoarmeysk (also known as Pokrovsk), Dimitrov (Mirnograd), and Kupyansk is “catastrophic,” he stressed.

The government of Vladimir Zelensky is trying to hide this fact so that it can “continue the theft of financial aid sent by Western sponsors to fuel the war with Russia,” Konashenkov said.

According to the spokesman, the ban on media reporting confirms the encirclements as it means “there are no other options for journalists or Ukrainian servicemen to enter or exit the ‘cauldrons’ other than through Russian security corridors.”

Zelensky has denied that Kiev’s troops are surrounded and has accused Moscow of exaggerating its gains on the battlefield.

A Maryland Democrat State Senator was charged with extortion for threatening to release a sexually explicit video of a former political consultant.

According to charging documents, State Senator Dalya Attar, her brother Joseph Attar, and Baltimore police officer Kalman Finkelstein conspired to release a video of a former campaign consultant in bed with a married man.

The purpose of the threat was to silence the campaign consultant and stop her from making any negative remarks about Dalya Attar that could harm her political ambitions after the two had a falling out.

Recording devices that looked like smoke detectors captured the victim’s affair. The unnamed consultant was staying in an apartment owned by Officer Finkelstein’s family.

Dalya Attar, an Orthodox Jew, sought to harm the political consultant’s effort to marry off her daughter. The smear campaign could damage the political consultant’s reputation because she is also a member of the tight-knit Jewish community.

Dalya Attar did not want the Orthodox Jewish community to be aware of her liberal voting record.

“She wants her daughters to get married more than she wants to screw me,” Dalya Attar wrote in a WhatsApp message, NBC News reported.

Dalya Attar was charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, extortion via interstate communications, aiding and abetting, and interception and disclosure of a wire, oral, or electronic communication.

Joseph Attar allegedly threatened the married man and told him that he commented on Dalya Attar’s voting record he would release the video.

“I’ll share this video with everybody you know, everyone she knows, every Rabbi in town, your kids, your wife, her daughters,” Joseph Attar allegedly told the consultant’s paramour.

A Democratic state senator from Maryland is accused of orchestrating a scheme to secretly record two critics — including a former campaign consultant — in bed together and then using the footage to threaten and silence them, according to a newly unsealed federal indictment.

Federal prosecutors say Maryland State Sen. Dalya Attar, her brother Joseph “Yossi” Attar and Baltimore Police Officer Kalman Finkelstein secretly filmed the pair during an intimate encounter, then used the recording to intimidate them into silence.

The 20-page indictment, unsealed Thursday, charges the trio with conspiracy, extortion, illegal wiretapping and violations of the Travel Act.

These revelations follow a troubling NBC4 report that obtained a police document detailing how scammers posing as HVAC repairmen defrauded Norton of $4,400 for services never performed. The report also noted that Norton has a caretaker with power of attorney who reported the fraud.

Norton, once a prominent civil rights leader who participated in the 1963 March on Washington, now appears to have outdated information on her ethics forms, suggesting her staff may be resubmitting portions automatically without updates.

Goldstein and Boguslaw observed that the boards Norton lists include the executive committee of the Yale Law School Association, the board of trustees for Antioch College, the lawyers committee for civil rights, and advisory boards at Georgetown’s Women’s Law & Public Policy Fellowship Program, American University’s Women and Politics Institute, and the Sewall Belmont House.

Repeated inquiries to these organizations yielded concerning responses. Norton was a founding member of Georgetown’s Women’s Law & Public Policy Fellowship Program and regularly hosted fellows for Capitol Hill lunches. However, according to a spokesperson, she hasn’t done so since 2019.

American University’s response was even more revealing: “The Women & Politics Institute no longer has an advisory board,” they wrote, per Goldstein and Boguslaw’s report.

In the latest antisemitic incident to rock a community, threatened attacks on synagogues in Alabama and surrounding stateswere thwarted when a person was arrested with a suitcase full of ammunition, body armor and other items, officials said Tuesday.

The FBI and other agencies were notified of “credible threats of violence” against the places of worship and asuspect was eventually identified and arrested Tuesday, according to a Facebook postfrom the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.

A search of the suspect’s home yielded weapons, the suitcase filled with ammunition, body armor and “other items related to the plans of violence,” the office said.

The arrest comes as antisemitic sentiment and attacks have surged globally. A car ramming and stabbing attack outside a synagogue left two dead in Manchester, England, earlier this month, less than two weeks after a late-night fire was set at a synagogue in Florida.

Antisemitic incidents in the US rose in 2024 for the fourth year in a row, reaching their highest level since the Anti-Defamation League started tracking them, according to an annual audit from the organization.

It is unclear how the latest threats were made. The suspect wasidentified as Jeremy Wayne Shoemaker, the Facebook post said. He is 33, according to Choctaw County Sheriff Scott Lolley.

Authorities in several regions of Russia on Friday reported drone attacks, including strikes on a combined heat and power plant in the city of Oryol and an electrical substation in the Vladimir region.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Russian service of the BBC.

The Governor of the Oryol region, Andrei Klychkov, said that “drone debris fell” on the territory of the heat and power plant. As a result, electricity supply in Oryol was disrupted, though backup lines were activated.

The Temporary Acting Governor of the Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeev, also reported an attack on infrastructure near the city of Vladimir but did not provide further details.

According to the Astra Telegram channel, during the night of October 30–31, the Vladimir electrical substation in the Energetik settlement near the city of Vladimir was attacked.

The report notes that the Vladimir substation is a major regional energy facility with an installed capacity of about 4,010 MVA.

The substation, which services the region’s power grid, is a key hub, with numerous power lines branching from it at voltages between 110 and 750 kV.

Following the drone strike, a fire broke out at the Vladimir substation. Videos posted by the Astra Telegram channel show tall flames at the site.

It was reported that after the drone attack, public transport routes in Vladimir were suspended, and educational institutions in the Energetik settlement were closed.

The Telegram channel also posted surveillance footage showing the moment a drone struck the combined heat and power plant in Oryol.

The Oryol combined heat and power plant is part of RSU Energy JSC and has an installed electric capacity of 330 MW and a thermal capacity of 725 Gcal/h.

Open-source analysis by Astra suggests that one of the strikes hit the open switchgear area of the Oryol combined heat and power plant, after which residents lost electricity.

Before the attack, the regional governor had reported a missile threat alert. Residents also claimed that “these were not drones” on social media.

Later, the governor of the Oryol region announced that, following the attack, heating and water supply would be restricted in three districts of the city.

Meanwhile, explosions were heard in the Russian city of Yaroslavl near the Slavneft-YANOS PJSC oil refinery. According to residents, the blasts occurred several kilometers from the refinery.

Additionally, the airport in Yaroslavl was closed, according to the Federal Air Transport Agency.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that 130 fixed-wing drones had allegedly been shot down over 14 regions of the aggressor state.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, during the night of Wednesday, October 29, a group of drones attacked oil refining and petrochemical plants in Russia.

Deep State Turns Blind Eye To Trump’s Ban On Gain-Of-Function Research

The Trump administration has whiffed its deadline to ban lab-made pandemic viruses by more than eight weeks, worrying biosafety hawks and undercutting assurances from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that the policy remains on track.

A May executive order required a handful of multi-agency leaders to oversee producing new federal policies on gain-of-function (GOF) research by Sept. 2.

“The atom has been split in biology with COVID, but nobody seems to be talking about it with urgency,” said Sean Kaufman, CEO and founding partner of biosafety consulting firm Safer Behaviors.

The issue pits Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has for years argued that an NIH-Wuhan Institute of Virology collaboration caused COVID-19, against NIH staff who adamantly oppose that view. In the middle stands NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya, whose promotion and protection of a member of Anthony Fauci’s inner circle and waffling statements have left some observers with a sense of déjà vu.

Even discounting weekends and holidays the 120-day deadline has passed by several days. About a month elapsed after the deadline before Democrats’ budget disputes on Capitol Hill shut down the government, inhibiting work on the policy.

Bhattacharya said at the May White House signing ceremony for the GOF executive order that the new rules would “make it go away forever.” But in an August podcast he made less strident comments, calling instead for “a calculation” in conversation with a top aide who described GOF as “sometimes really important.”

In 2016, NIH officials used internal bureaucratic manipulation to wrest control of GOF regulation from the White House and advanced a policy that scrutinized very few projects. Two officials involved in writing the pre-COVID policy that allowed funds to flow to Wuhan are directly involved in writing Trump’s policy now, according to emails described to the Daily Caller News Foundation by two former government insiders.

Some experts worry that the language of Trump’s EO is too ambiguous. It cedes much of the decision-making power to the heads of individual agencies like NIH and states that enforcement could include a 5-year ban from grants, half the maximum 10-year debarment period at HHS.

A spokesperson for HHS referred questions to the White House when reached for comment. The White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) did not respond to requests for comment.

Multiple law enforcement officers have been indicted in a yearlong conspiracy to traffic drugs across the state in exchange for money.

The FBI, including the head of the Jackson branch, joined the United States Attorney's Northern District of Mississippi in Oxford Thursday afternoon.

The military’s top lawyer, Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, announced her resignation from the Israel Defense Forces on Friday, acknowledging that she had approved the leaking of a surveillance video from the Sde Teiman detention facility, which purported to show soldiers severely abusing a Palestinian detainee last year.

Military Advocate General Tomer-Yerushalmi had been on leave from the IDF since a criminal investigation was launched by police earlier this week into the leaking of the surveillance video. She is expected to be questioned under caution in the coming days.

Tomer-Yerushalmi had prepared a resignation letter on Thursday, which she delivered to IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir during a meeting on Friday morning.

During their meeting, Tomer-Yerushalmi told Zamir that she was personally responsible for leaking the video to the media.

In her resignation letter, Tomer-Yerushalmi wrote: “I approved the release of material to the media in an attempt to counter the false propaganda directed against the military law enforcement authorities.”

“I bear full responsibility for any material that was released to the media from within the unit,” she said, adding that “from this responsibility also stems my decision to conclude my tenure as military advocate general.”

Before the announcement of her resignation, Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Tomer-Yerushalmi would be dismissed, although it is unclear if Katz has the authority to dismiss military officers.

“The military advocate general resigned, and rightly so,” Katz said in a later statement. “Anyone who spreads blood libels against IDF soldiers is not worthy of wearing the IDF uniform,” he added.

During their meeting with Zamir on Friday morning, Tomer-Yerushalmi asked to step down, the military said, adding that the chief of staff “accepted her request to end her position immediately and will act to stabilize the Military Advocate General and to protect IDF soldiers.”

“The chief of staff is confident that a thorough investigation will be conducted to uncover the truth,” the military added.

As co-owner of a chain of area furniture stores, Kalman Finkelstein became successful enough to sprinkle tens of thousands of dollars on state and local political campaigns in recent years.

Then he took an unusual turn: In his late 40s, the father of five became a Baltimore City police officer — and the first Orthodox Jew to join the ranks in a half-century.

For the past three years, however, Finkelstein has been suspended with pay after a search warrant was executed at his home. And on Thursday, the reason became clear: The 54-year-old was indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly being part of a blackmail scheme involving a Democratic state senator and former city prosecutor, Dalya Attar.

He’s now suspended without pay from the police force.

Finkelstein was just months into his time on the police force when federal authorities allege that he and Attar’s brother went into an apartment belonging to one of Finkelstein’s family members and installed cameras disguised as smoke detectors to spy on a rival political consultant. They also placed a tracking device on the car the consultant was using.

The alleged blackmail scheme involved illicitly tracking the consultant’s whereabouts, secretly filming her in bed with a married man and threatening to expose the video and interfere with matchmaking to find spouses for the consultant’s daughters, according to the case outlined in the indictment.

His attorney, Ty Kelly, declined to comment at Finkelstein’s initial appearance Thursday in U.S. District Court, when he was released on pre-trial supervision. Attar said in a statement that she hadn’t seen “tangible evidence” to support claims that she knew of the alleged blackmail scheme and that her attorney planned to fight the charges.

More than 20 years ago, Finkelstein teamed up with two others to take a family furniture store in Baltimore and create what would grow to operate under the Price Busters umbrella with nine stores in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. metro areas. Today it has 14 locations and has expanded to Pennsylvania and Delaware.

It’s unclear whether Finkelstein still has a role with the company, but a woman who answered the phone at its Owings Mills location directed an inquiry to a store email address that she said Finkelstein would receive. No one responded.

In an interview with Baltimore Jewish Life in 2017, which featured a picture of Finkelstein with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Finkelstein said the company in its early days operated on “such a shoestring budget that every day, even the smallest financial problem had potential to shut us down.”

“We didn’t get our MBAs from Wharton Business School; we got our ‘MBAs’ from the School of Hard Knocks,” Finkelstein told Jewish magazine WhereWhatWhen, also in 2017. “Everything we did, we learned by trial and error. Our advice? Work hard. Nothing comes free.”

The IDF and Mossad are preparing for a developing threat against Israel from Iranian-backed militias in Iraq, sources in the Northern Command told Walla on Friday.

The Iranians have been investing significant resources in pro-Iranian militias and terrorist infrastructure in Iraq, so that, on the day of command, they can attack Israel from the air and by land.

It was further reported that recently, Esmail Qaani, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF), visited Iraq and met with senior militia leaders.

The main method of attack would likely involve launching missiles and drones from Iraqi territory, following a pattern similar to the one used during the Israel-Hamas war against Israel’s home front.

A secondary option could be a ground maneuver beginning in Iraq, moving through Syria, and potentially reaching the Israel-Jordan border.

IRGC-QF supports the powerful and influential militia Kataib Hezbollah, one of several groups operating under the umbrella of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

Kataib Hezbollah is considered the most prominent of these militias due to its political influence and extensive arsenal, which includes long-range drones. In the past, it has targeted US forces in the region.

The group also controls key smuggling routes from Iraq to Syria, and, according to assessments, its operatives are responsible for smuggling weapons.

Israel Air Force previously struck militia-affiliated sites on Iraq's border

During Operation Rising Lion, the Israel Air Force struck logistical centers in Iran on the Iraq border that serve the militias in Iraq with Iranian funding.

The newly established 96th "Gilad" Division, under the command of Brig.-Gen. Oren Simcha, later rehearsed this scenario along the Jordan Valley border.

The Iranians have also succeeded in carrying out attacks against Israel, similar to the Houthis in Yemen, using several Iraqi militias that operated under a generic name to conceal their identities.

According to foreign reports, the IAF, with assistance from Mossad, conducted strikes in the area to deter both the militias and the Iraqi government.

Israeli sources add that clear and threatening messages were conveyed from Israel to the Iraqi government through the United States and other channels.

According to open sources, one of the militias that has become an additional source of concern is Harakat al-Nujaba.

This militia maintains close ties with Hezbollah in Lebanon and has previously claimed responsibility for several missile launches.

New footage shows settlers slaughtering sheep during attack on Palestinian village

The Times of Israel has obtained new footage of a settler attack earlier this week on a Palestinian hamlet in the South Hebron Hills of the West Bank, with the clip showing the brutal slaughter of sheep belonging to one of the residents.

The livestock belonged to Mahmoud Drameen, who identified the masked men as local settlers in a complaint filed to Israel Police on Wednesday. The complaint also included graphic security camera footage documenting the attack, which also caught the masked men smashing the windows of his car.

Drameen said a total of 10 sheep were killed or seriously injured, and some had their eyes gouged out.

No suspects have been arrested to date.

While livestock have been targeted in such attacks before, the gruesome nature of the footage points to an apparent escalation in settler violence, which has been taking place on a near-daily basis with overwhelming impunity from Israeli prosecution.

Hundreds of religious figures from diverse faiths convened in the Vatican this week to mark the 60th anniversary of the Catholic Church’s landmark document Nostra Aetate.

The edict launched an ongoing process that seeks to do away with centuries-old stereotypes in the Church in which Jews were depicted as Christ-killers and rootless wanderers.

“There have been so many amazing moments over those sixty years, moments our grandparents and great-grandparents could never have imagined,” Murray Watson, an expert on Catholic-Jewish relations, told The Times of Israel.

“Nostra Aetate was, in many ways, a modest, tentative beginning, but it has yielded amazing fruits,” he continued.

“It is easy to forget that 60 years ago, Catholics and Jews had little experience of talking to one another,” noted Saint Joseph’s University professor Philip Cunningham.

“We are definitely in a more positive moment,” said Rabbi Noam Marans, director of interreligious affairs at the American Jewish Committee.

A golden age

Meaning “In our time,” Nostra Aetate revolutionized the Church’s relationship with other faiths. Though it addresses Hinduism and Buddhism, saying it “rejects nothing that is true and holy” in other religions, and regards Islam “with esteem,” the multi-year, multi-pope process that culminated in Nostra Aetate had the Vatican’s relationship with Jews at its core.

A classified report by the US State Department’s Office of Inspector General has identified “many hundreds” of potential violations of American human rights law by Israeli military units operating in Gaza, the Washington Post reported Thursday.

According to two US officials who spoke with the newspaper, the scale of the findings would take the State Department “multiple years” to review.

This marks the first time a US government watchdog has acknowledged the extent of Israeli actions in Gaza that fall under the Leahy Laws, named after former Vermont Democratic Senator Patrick Leahy, which prohibit US security assistance to foreign military units credibly accused of gross human rights abuses.

The report outlines a unique vetting protocol for Israel, known as the Israel Leahy Vetting Forum, which involves senior US officials and a consensus-based process.

Unlike standard vetting - where a single objection can halt aid - Israel’s review requires agreement among a working group that includes the US Embassy in Jerusalem and the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.

The Israeli government is consulted before any recommendation to withhold aid is made.

While the Leahy Laws have not been used to deny Israel US funds in the past, in 2016, Senator Leahy and 10 other Democratic lawmakers urged the State Department to probe the IDF for possible “gross violations of human rights”.

The latest report was finalized just days before the October 10 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which included the release of Israeli hostages, a partial IDF withdrawal, and limited humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The inspector general’s office confirmed the report’s existence but declined to comment, citing its classified status. Neither the State Department nor the IDF responded to inquiries.

The Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region denied on Friday the veracity of reports circulating in some media outlets and on social media regarding a drone attack in Pirmam district, Erbil Governorate.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Service stated that "some media outlets and social media platforms published false news, claiming that a drone attack was carried out on Pirmam district and that an explosion was heard there."

Florida Firm Conducts ‘World’s First’ Non-Lethal Human Takedown With Drone

Florida-based Wrap Technologies has achieved a world first: conducting a non-lethal human takedown using a drone platform in a series of trials.

At the center of the demonstration was the Merlin-Interdictor drone, which deployed a “BolaWrap” device that entangled a human target from the air.

The engagement was repeated several times, confirming the drone’s ability to subdue hostile individuals safely and consistently.

Wrap Technologies conducted the trials in partnership with Mithril Defense, which hosted the demonstration in Texas.

“This testing validates our vision for what responsible, non-lethal aerial response and interdiction should look like,” Wrap Technologies Chief Commercial Officer Branden Frame said.

“We believe [drone-first-responder interdiction] is more than innovation – it’s a new capability for agencies, officers, and stakeholders to deliver faster, safer, and smarter intervention when lives are on the line.”

The Merlin-Interdictor is envisioned for use in school safety and public security scenarios, designed to intercept armed suspects while minimizing collateral damage.

He then told Zelensky behind closed doors that the US would not be providing them — at least not yet.

Trump’s decision came one day after he spoke by phone to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who told Trump that Tomahawks could hit major Russian cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg – would have no significant impact on the battlefield but would damage the US-Russia relationship, CNN has reported.

The White House and Pentagon did not return requests for comment.

Trump has not taken the missiles off the table altogether, sources previously told CNN, and the administration has drawn up plans to provide them to Ukraine quickly should Trump give the order. Trump has also grown so frustrated in recent weeks with Putin’s unwillingness to seriously consider peace talks that he approved new US sanctions on Russian oil firms last week and scrapped — for now — a planned meeting with Putin in Budapest to discuss Ukraine.

While the Pentagon doesn’t have concerns about stockpiles, US defense officials are still grappling with how Ukraine would train on and deploy the missiles, officials said. There are still several operational issues that would need to be resolved for Ukraine to be able to use the missiles effectively, the sources added.

Prison drugs crisis hits ‘endemic’ levels as drone sightings soar 1,140 per cent

Safety in prisons is being “critically undermined” by a drugs crisis which has reached “endemic levels”, MPs have warned, as drone sightings soar by 1,140 per cent.

The cross-party justice committee has called for urgent action after finding almost four in 10 inmates admit it’s easy to get drugs, with many prisons having a “menu” of illicit substances on offer.

A major report published by the committee on Friday warned of the “unacceptable” human cost of the crisis, with 136 drug-related deaths in jails in England and Wales between December 2022 and 2024.

MPs heard that inmates in debt were being forced to test new drugs, sometimes for the entertainment of other prisoners, while staff becoming desensitised to daily suffering was a sign of a “failed system”.

The report found 11 per cent of men and 19 per cent of women said they had developed a problem with drugs, alcohol or non-prescription medication since arriving in prison.

The committee called for the Ministry of Justice to ramp up drug testing, including speeding up plans to introduce waste-water surveillance systems, and invest in electronic drone countermeasures known as “Sky Fence” systems.

It comes as Ministry of Justice figures show drone sightings in prisons have soared more than ten-fold in the past five years.

A total of 1,712 drones were spotted in the year to March 2025 – almost five sightings per day – up from just 138 in the same period to March 2021.

MPs fear drones pose an “extremely serious threat” to prison safety amid fears they could be used to deliver weapons, and potentially guns and explosives, as well as drugs and mobile phones.

They also heard evidence about drones that could lift a “moderate-sized person”. Despite the rising threat of drones, the committee found other traditional ways of getting drugs into prison via visits or throwovers were more common.

The committee called for the prison service to toughen up its vetting procedures for staff to bring them in line with other law enforcement agencies like the police.

Chair of the committee Andy Slaughter said: “The committee’s findings during this inquiry were sobering: put simply the drugs crisis across the prison system has reached ‘endemic’ levels, fostering a ‘dangerous culture of acceptance that must be broken’.

“Fuelled by inflated profits, the supply of drugs by organised criminal gangs into prisons is a constant pressure.

“This is compounded by failure to address and reduce the underlying demand for drugs and combat the alarming rise in the use of sophisticated drone technology.”

The government announced a £900,000 cash boost in July to tackle drones bringing drugs and weapons into prisons, on top of £40m already used to boost security such as by reinforcing windows and putting up netting.

Meanwhile, MPs heard that once a prisoner is exposed to the “menu of drugs” available in jails, the pressure of the established culture made it “exceptionally difficult to resist drug use”.

They also found drugs selling for up to 100 times their street value in the prison market, which is dominated by organised crime groups.

Strong synthetic opioids such as Nitazenes were highlighted as a “volatile threat”.

The dangerous drugs, which can be hundreds of times more potent than morphine, have already been linked to 750 fatalities in the UK between 1 June 2023 and 28 August 2025 – including four at HMP Parc, in Wales, in 2024.

Mr Slaughter said: “Highly potent New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) are driving increases in violence, debt, and fatal overdoses, with the current testing regime failing to keep pace.”

It is also feared the new substances pose a wider danger to prison staff at risk of unwittingly inhaling drugs after four officers at one prison became ill.

MPs said that keeping prisoners locked up in their cells for 22 hours a day is driving them to use drugs to escape from boredom and they called on ministers to expand access to education, work programmes and other activities to curb the demand.

Mr Slaughter added: “Without urgent reform and investment that tackles the profitable supply networks, the discrepancies in treatment provision and purposeful activity, plus the poor physical condition of the estate, prisons will remain unstable, unsafe and incapable of gaining control over the drugs crisis.”

Former government drugs tsar Mike Trace, now CEO of the Forward Trust, urged ministers to “recognise the scale of the challenge and accept the justice committee’s recommendation to take decisive action to turn things around”.

Lord James Timpson, prisons minister, said the “sobering” report lays bare the crisis they inherited from the last government, with prisons also facing an “unprecedented threat from drones”.

"You cannot deliver meaningful rehabilitation when jails are flooded with drugs,” he said.

“That is why we’re already investing £40 million this year to bolster security and stop contraband entering prisons, including counter-drone measures such as exterior netting and reinforced windows. This is alongside 85 specialist wings to help prisoners live drug-free.

“We’re also building 14,000 additional prison places and reforming sentencing to ensure our jails create better citizens, not better criminals.”

FBI Uses Secret Threat Category for Israeli Criminals Operating in U.S.

The agency has never publicly disclosed that it monitors organized crime syndicates based in Israel.

The FBI’s growing list of domestic threats has mutated in recent years to include every conceivable affiliation of Americans across the political spectrum: right-wing violent extremists, left-wing violent extremists, black identity extremists, and animal rights extremists. The current administration has even added nihilistic violent extremists—those who “believe in nothing”—to the laundry list. The Biden administration, for its part, aided in this exercise by vastly overstating the threat posed by Trump-aligned conservatives in the wake of January 6th. But neither Democratic nor Republican administrations have ever grandstanded about another significant threat group that the FBI secretly monitors on U.S. soil: Israeli Based Organized Crime Syndicates, or “IBOCS”.

Leaked FBI records and court filings detail widespread money laundering, taxpayer theft, and drug smuggling enterprises operated in the U.S. by Israeli citizens connected or belonging to Israeli crime groups. Despite the trickle of prosecutions over the past 25 years, the FBI has never publicly disclosed the fact that it has designated resources allocated to investigating these criminal organizations.

A 2020 FBI intelligence report from the “Blue Leaks” hack conducted by the hacker group Anonymous and archived by the nonprofit DDoSecrets describes IBOCS operating in Nevada and Florida embezzling money from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). IBOCS “have defrauded US Government relief programs and manipulated tax documents since at least 2015 to reduce tax liability and conceal money laundering activities, as well as have access to companies and agents, which are necessary to process PPP loan applications,” the report found.

The report also lists instances of IBOCS committing both disaster relief and tax fraud, and notes that IBOCS are involved in money laundering, extortion, illegal gambling, fraud, and narcotics trafficking in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York, according to FBI investigations.

As far back as 2009, leaked State Department cables obtained by WikiLeaks detail one of the reasons why criminals belonging to or associated with Israeli crime families and syndicates have been able to operate inside America with ease: The State Department is not authorized to block their visas. The cables warn of the Israeli mafia taking on a growing role in the American trade of ecstasy, and of the loophole which prevents U.S. embassies from automatically denying Israeli crime figures travel documents.

Senate confirms Wilsbach as Air Force Chief

The former head of Air Combat Command will now lead the Air Force as its next top uniformed officer, following the surprise retirement of Gen. David Allvin.

The US Senate today confirmed Gen. Kenneth Wilsbach as the next Air Force chief of staff, paving the way for the fighter pilot to take the reins of his service following the abrupt retirement of Gen. David Allvin.

After a relatively uncontroversial hearing for Wilsbach before the Senate Armed Services Committee — though one where he would not commit to upholding congressional intent for billions of dollars in reconciliation spending — the general’s nomination cleared the upper chamber by unanimous consent alongside several other nominees.

It’s not immediately clear when Wilsbach will be sworn in as service chief. Allvin previously announced he would step down “on or about” Nov. 1, and held his retirement ceremony Oct. 10.

In a statement on X, Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said, “I want to welcome General Kenneth Wilsbach as the 24th Chief of Staff of the Air Force! With his vast experience in the Pacific and as a commander at all levels, he is the right leader for the” service.

Wilsbach is a fighter pilot by background, having flown aircraft like the F-22 Raptor, F-15 and F-16. He is now poised to guide the service during a critical window, as fears mount that China could invade Taiwan and invoke a US response. While heading Pacific Air Forces, Wilsbach commanded forces amid what he called “completely unprofessional and totally unsafe” intercepts by Chinese pilots.

Europol’s Core International Crimes Team supported Moldova and Ukraine in a second phase of war crimes investigation against members of Wagner and Redut mercenary groups

Europol supported the second phase of an investigation by the Moldovan Police and Ukrainian Police against Russian mercenaries. Europol’s Core International Crimes Team assisted national authorities in identifying suspects allegedly involved in war crimes. Europol’s EU Internet Referral Unit also supported the action day, which focused individuals involved in war crimes committed during Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

Overall, the investigation led to the identification of a total of 654 members of the Russian private military companies Wagner and Redut involved in combat operations against Ukraine. These suspects include citizens of Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. These individuals are believed to have committed war crimes such as acts of sexual violence, executions of prisoners of war and executions of civilians.

The action day on 29 October 2025 resulted in:

During the investigation, Ukrainian authorities shared with concerned countries, via Europol’s secure channels, 280 names of foreign nationals suspected of involvement in combat operations. Since the beginning of the investigation, national authorities uncovered recruitment and training sites, mapped command structures, and documented war crimes including the executions of civilians, the use of banned weapons, and attacks on Ukrainian cities. To date, 11 Ukrainian citizens have been indicted for high treason for joining the Wagner and Redut formations.

Europol's support

Europol supported the investigation by facilitating information exchange and providing specialised analytical support focused on the potential involvement of these individuals in war crimes committed in Ukraine. During the action days, Europol set up a virtual command post to facilitate communication among the involved authorities. It also strengthened intelligence gathering by comparing real-time operational data with its databases, including OSINT research.

Striding through the halls of the Maryland House of Delegates,29-year-old Dalya Attar is an anomaly: the highest-ranking elected Shabbat-observant female in U.S. history.

As a candidate last year in Baltimore’s District 41 – 65% African-American, and 5% Jewish – Dalya defeated 12 other candidates, including the incumbent. She now spends 90 days each winter in Annapolis, bringing her deeply-engrained Jewish values to the machinations of legislative politics.

Dalya is also a devoted wife and mother. On the day of our conversation, she texts with a request to push back our meeting by 30 minutes. Snow was falling in Baltimore and, with a delayed school start, she needed to drive her young children to school.

It is this reality of motherhood colliding with career – and the Jewish values that underpin her life – that makes Dalya Attar a refreshing voice of balance and sanity in today’s often-turbulent political waters.

Dalya’s conversation with Aish.com has been edited for clarity.

Aish.com: People say that you bring a fresh voice and perspective to the world of politics.

Dalya Attar: I am new to politics, not from a political family, and not part of a political machine. I want to do what's right. If I see something that should be done, I tell people how it is. As a prosecutor, I’m used to standing up and speaking out. I won't beat around the bush just to please people.

Aish.com: When it comes to straight-talk, politicians don’t always have the best reputation.

“’Don't lie, cheat or steal’ has always been basic in my book.”

Dalya: There is a perception that corruption is part of the political game, and there are many examples where that’s true. Unfortunately in recent years, many Marylanders in positions of authority have faced serious ethical violations or abused power – including the prior state senator in my district who is currently sitting in jail.

Aish.com: How has your Jewish upbringing influenced how you navigate the political swamp?

Dalya: Growing up in my family and attending Bais Yaakov (network of Jewish schools), morals and ethics always came first. “Don't lie, cheat or steal” has always been basic in my book. I will not deviate from these beliefs. If I have a doubt whether something is right or wrong, I tell myself the answer is “no.” When it comes to integrity, I err on the safe side.

I look at my religion and my beliefs, not as something that hinders my career and desire to help people, but enhances that ability. Jewish values are a huge asset in politics, guiding me and making it so much easier to represent the people. I train prosecutors and tell them, “Don’t ever lie about a case. It's not the right thing to do, and nothing is worth taking a chance on your reputation.

Aish.com: Take us back to the beginning. What is your family background?

Dalya: My father came to the U.S. from Iran in search of a better future. My mother did the same coming from Morocco. They wanted to raise a family in a democracy, with freedom of religion and better economic opportunities. They met in Baltimore and – despite a new language, culture, and lifestyle – they worked hard, overcame many obstacles, and raised a family of six children.

Aish.com: What sparked your interest in politics?

Dalya: As a teenager, I’d pay close attention to the news. If there was a problem in the city or in the world, I passionately wanted to do something about it. I’ve always been an independent thinker, unwilling to accept the status quo. I wanted to be a lawyer, but knew it would tend in the direction of politics.

Aish.com: You speak about wanting to put the “more” back in Baltimore. Why?

Dalya: I've spent my entire life in Baltimore. I studied criminal justice at the University of Baltimore, and earned my law degree at the University of Maryland. When I graduated law school in 2014, I became a prosecutor in Baltimore State’s Attorney.

My parents live two blocks from my house. I work for the city, and I’m a wife and mother raising my family here. I’ve had a front row seat to the best of Baltimore, but also to the challenges we face. The desire to give back to my community motivated my decision to run for office.

Aish.com: Tell us about the moment you decided to run.

“An 11-year-old boy was pleading with me to help him. As a mother of two young kids, I was in tears. ”

Dalya: In 2016, I was working as a prosecutor in a juvenile detention center in Baltimore. I was coming to work every day, in the courtroom with these kids. An 11-year-old boy was pleading with me to help him, to not send him away. As a mother of two young kids, I was in tears.

Around this time I was approached by members of the Jewish community in Baltimore to run for office. I realized that as a prosecutor, there are limits to the impact I can make. A lot happens at the legislative level. So I decided to run.

Aish.com: You are the first Orthodox Jew elected to the Maryland legislature. What inspired you to break that barrier?

Dalya: I have a bold personality. I learned to think for myself and believe in my abilities. I'm not afraid to take chances. Otherwise I never would have run for office.

Initially, people were skeptical if I could win such a competitive race. I had no political connections. So I campaigned in all 50 communities in the district. My husband, siblings, friends and members of the community were out there every day, putting up signs and helping to organize. It was a true grassroots campaign.

Aish.com: What are the ways you help the 5% of your district that is Jewish?

Dalya: For many years the Jewish community felt that we had inadequate representation. Time and again, we saw legislators voting for an agenda that doesn’t meet the needs of our community.

On one hand, I’m a passionate advocate for improving public schools. On the other hand, as an alumnus of Bais Yaakov, I see the need for publicly-funded scholarships for private schools. Tuition creates huge financial pressures, which may mean it’s not possible for every child to attend Jewish school and receive those values that are so important to our Jewish community.

Aish.com: How do you juggle professional and personal responsibilities?

Dalya: In 2012, at age 21, I married my brothers’ friend, and we had two children while I pursued my law degree. It’s always been about juggling my family and career, and I’m blessed to have a supportive family. It's about balance and priorities. If there's a school event for my kids, I'll go there instead of to a professional event

Aish.com: Any instances where the practicalities of Jewish observance affect your career?

Dalya: During the campaign there were many events that I would not attend on Shabbos. So I reframed the situation as a healthy break from the rigors of an election campaign. After I won the election, I saw my Jewish beliefs taking me to where I want to be. I won’t ever turn away from them.

Sometimes I get home right before Shabbos starts – but I get home on time, every time. During my first legislative session in 2019, I was required to attend one Saturday session. After consultation with a rabbi, I spent the entire Shabbat at the capital, and attended the session with no devices and no active participation.

Aish.com: Did any Jewish individual inspire you to enter politics?

Dalya: Growing up, I’d frequently visit an aunt and uncle in Connecticut who attend the same shul as Senator Joe Lieberman. As a 10-year-old, seeing a Shabbat-observant Jew run for vice-president seemed normal to me.

Later, as a prosecutor, I was several times in the courtroom of Karen (Chaya) Friedman, an Orthodox judge on Baltimore’s 8th Judicial Circuit. Also, a year prior to my campaign, Isaac Yitzy Schleifer became the first Orthodox city councilman elected in Baltimore. Like me, he was in his 20s, and that inspired me to the possibilities.

Aish.com: Which historical figure do you view as a role model?

Dalya: Sarah Schenirer, the founder of Bais Yaakov a century ago in Poland, was someone who stepped out of the box and did something very great to help our community. She is a model of how to successfully balance Jewish tradition while pushing for innovation and creativity.

Her story also demonstrates that change happens on the ground. One woman, with little fanfare, simply did what needed to be done. She didn’t wait for big organizations to get involved, or let herself get mired in politics. She started her school, its success spoke for itself, and the organized community followed suit. In this respect, Bais Yaakov is a model grassroots movement.

Aish.com: It’s interesting that you say this. Rabbi Noah Weinberg zt"l, the founder of Aish HaTorah, also drew deep inspiration from Sarah Schenirer, often saying that she influenced the Jewish people more than any other person in the 20th century. (Rabbi Weinberg’s sister, Chavah Pincus, was sent to Poland to study with Sarah Schenirer before helping establish the first Bais Yaakov in America.)

Aish.com: Baltimore is known as one of the crime capitals of America. Tell us about the opioid epidemic, which is a full-blown crisis in your city.

Dalya: The opioid epidemic is a non-partisan issue; it does not discriminate. My friend in school died from this and I have personally seen the effects this epidemic has on families. Drugs are almost as easy to buy as bread and milk. But we aren’t going to get anywhere with fears and complaints. We need action. When I became a prosecutor, I joined the narcotics unit – prosecuting drug dealers, reducing the amount of drugs on the street, and arranging treatment for drug users.

Aish.com: Have you carried this fight against drugs into the legislative chamber?

Dalya: I was appointed to Maryland ’s House Opioid Workgroup. We worked to pass legislation regarding lawsuits against opioid manufacturers – mandating that money received be placed into a dedicated fund for drug treatment and recovery programs. I also partnered with Chayeinu, a Baltimore organization working to prevent addictions. We train local school administrators in the use of NARCAN, the nasal spray that counteracts the life-threatening effects of an opioid overdose.

Aish.com: How are your relations with the 65% of your constituency that is African-American?

“Some people don’t like me because I’m Jewish, and others are even blatantly anti-Semitic. ”

During Black History Month, I co-sponsored Hate Crimes legislation to include “the attempt or threat of committing a hate crime,” as one way to help to reduce rampant violence in Baltimore. I aspire to be like Elijah Cummings in standing up for human rights, and making clear that hate is never allowed.

Aish.com: Maryland is a heavily Democratic state. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won Maryland with over 60% of the vote, and the Maryland House of Delegates is 70% Democrat. Given the reality of partisan politics, are you pressured to vote the party line?

Dalya: My parents were Democrats, and I’m a Democrat. But I will break from the Democratic line when it contradicts my beliefs. For example, I voted against the party line on the “end-of-life bill,” granting people the right to suicide. The bill left too much room for abuse, too much room for the disabled communities and minority communities to be harmed by it. Just because I have a “D” for Democrat doesn't dictate who I am or what I believe in.

Aish.com: Your term in the Maryland House of Delegates is four years, and in January 2020 you’ll be starting a 90-day session. Will you be introducing any new legislation?

Dalya: Yes, one that addresses the issue of Jewish marriage and divorce. New York and a few other states have passed a law stating that civil divorce is contingent on “nothing else impeding a full divorce.” This prevents someone from enjoying the benefits of civil divorce, while still complicating their ex-spouse’s life from a Jewish perspective. In consultation with a rabbi, I’m sponsoring similar legislation during the coming session.

Aish.com: I imagine you have higher political aspirations.

Dalya: I’m inspired by the example of Ben Cardin, who started out in the Maryland House of Delegates and is now a popular U.S. Senator. He is very pro-Israel, and vocally against anti-Semitism. I respect that.

Attar: Initially designed to protect law enforcement, today many believe that it overprotects them, at the expense of the public. For example, Maryland has had several scandals involving prison guards and staff, but the Law Enforcement Officer Bill of Rights impeded the investigations. And with continuing problems and scandals developing in police departments, the public needs confidence that they are not overlooked in these matters. The LEOBR should be adjusted to ensure that police and other law enforcement are not receiving special treatment, and at the same time ensure that those who violate the LEOBR are penalized, not rewarded as it may be perceived now.

Unknown object crash near Area 51 fuels cover-up claims

A mysterious object of unknown origin fell from the sky and crashed just outside of Nevada’s secretive Area 51 military base, and five weeks later, the public is still in the dark.

The crash was quickly covered up, both literally and figuratively. 8 News Now Chief Investigator George Knapp thinks the official story as told by the military is demonstrably false.

How quickly might the government respond to the crash of an unknown object?

What happened back on Sept. 23 on public land outside the boundary of Area 51 is a textbook example of how crash retrievals work, and to no one’s surprise, pretty much everything told to the public since then is pure fiction.

Scanners and computers at Dreamland Resort listen to and record radio traffic inside Area 51 around the clock. On the morning of Sept. 23, Joerg Arnu heard some astonishing news.

“I had my cup of coffee, and I am listening to Area 51 security, and all of the sudden they got very serious, and locked down the base,” Arnu told 8 News Now.

He learned there had been a large, but totally secret air operation in the middle of the night and that something had gone wrong.

“‘We just had an asset go down. We had an asset go down,'” Arnu recalled. “This is not Creech security. This is Area 51 security, and they had an asset go down. Then the next thing you hear, UAV, unmanned aircraft, unmanned aircraft with ordnance.”

He picked up details that strict security measures were implemented almost immediately. Not only was Area 51 itself locked down, but within a very short time, so too was a large swath of the Tiikaboo Valley.

It became clear that some kind of craft had crashed, miles outside Area 51’s boundaries, on public land, adjacent to highway 375, also known as the E.T. Highway.

Arnu jumped in his truck and headed south from his home in Rachel. But while driving on what’s known as mailbox road, he ran into an armed patrol.

“They had guns in front of them, not pointed at me, but very visibly in front of them, and it was clear they meant business,” Arnu said.

He backtracked and headed south on the E.T. Highway to Groom Lake Road, the main entrance to the base. It too was blocked off by sheriff’s deputies and military security.

A military helicopter with an attached basket was sitting there, presumably ready to haul out the wreckage of something. A pair of porta-potties suggested the team planned to be there for a while.

“Almost the entire valley was shut down,” Arnu explained.

At The Little A’le’inn in Rachel, employees were in the dark about a crash, but saw the beefed-up security at closed-off roads and knew something big was unfolding.

Crashes are not an everyday occurrence, but locals have seen plenty of them over the decades. “If this thing would have crashed anywhere in restricted airspace, we wouldn’t have known about it,” Arnu said.

After being turned away from the presumed crash site, Arnu and the aerospace sleuths on his website, DreamlandResort.com, began gathering and sharing bits and pieces of information.

The FAA had ordered the closure of airspace over a particular spot in the valley. That was a big clue.

Then, four days after the crash, the security teams vanished. Arnu went back out for a look. The air force had used heavy equipment to plow a dirt road across a section of desert.

Arnu followed it and found what he thought was the crash site, then shared it online. That’s when things got strange, even by Area 51 standards.

A second wave of cleanup crews descended on the site, presumably to pick up any remaining debris, but they also used graders to cover the entire area with a thick layer of dirt, making this literally a cover-up.

Creech Air Force Base, which is home to a fleet of Reaper drones and other UAVs, issued a statement explaining that the quote “unmanned aircraft” was one of theirs.

The same statement claimed someone had been tampering with the crash site and had scattered assorted pieces from other craft, along with an inert training bomb.

The Air Force said the FBI was investigating this alleged tampering at the site.

Arnu was amused but not convinced.

“The only thing that could get that person is for littering on public land.”

“That’s the story. It came from Creech and now the FBI is investigating,” Knapp said during an interview with Arnu. “You think that’s bogus?”

“That’s absolutely bogus,” Arnu responded. “I think that was designed to make people not go there, discourage people from going there.”

Arnu drove back out and realized the site he had first videotaped was a staging area, not the crash site. Two hundred yards away, the telltale burn marks on Joshua trees indicated this was where the object slammed into the earth.

Both he and another aerospace explorer found pieces of who knows what, debris that came from something other than a drone, seemingly planted to confuse anyone who came looking, but they also found pieces under the dirt that are likely the real thing.

Arnu, who was at the site of a genuine Reaper crash years earlier, said there is no way the Air Force could ever recover every piece of a crashed aircraft, so they added some dirt and sprinkled in some misdirection instead.

“If I was them, I would probably do just that.”

Is there a good guess about what crashed? On the Dreamland Resort website, members, including former military and retired defense contractors, chimed in.

The leading theory is that the drone was one of the latest generation of AI-controlled craft that accompany advanced fighter planes and can act independently to get the job done.

Mr Newson added that for all Mr Trump’s bluster he doubted he would never press the nuclear button.

That’s despite Mr Trump’s plan to resume nuclear tests.

“Look, this is weakness masquerading as strength. This is classic Trump and Trumpism. This guy is historically weak, and these are acts of a weak person that is trying to appear strong,” Mr Newsom told NBC News’ Meet the Press.

2028 Presidential-Hopeful Gavin Newsom Tied to Secretive Billion Dollar Taxpayer-Funded Expansion of California State Capitol

The White House East Wing is currently undergoing a major facelift as President Trump’s July 2025 proposal to build a ballroom began earlier this month. The addition is expected to hold approximately 1,000 guests in the proposed 90,000 square-foot facility.

The new structure has met fierce scrutiny from the Mockingbird media and political opponents of President Trump given the timing of the development during a federal shutdown. Democrats in the Senate continue to withhold the necessary votes to pass yet another continuing resolution.

Meanwhile, the entirety of the $200-300 million project being funded not by the taxpayer but rather by donors and the President himself.

Failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris, who slid into that “nomination” without receiving a single Democrat vote in the primary, invoked starving babies in a vulgar rant on the Jon Stewart podcast when comparing it to Trump’s construction project.

Again: the continuing resolution is being held up by Democrats in the Senate, not Republicans. President Trump has no legal authority until the bill reaches the Resolute Desk.

Newsom, however, has his own problems with renovations and exorbitant costs in California’s state capitol. These issues, in fact, are funded by the taxpayers of California, in contrast to the “knock-off Versailles” funding at the White House.

As reported by KCRA 3’s Ashley Zavala, the California Capitol Annex project is coming under tremendous scrutiny in the Golden State. The years-long project that is estimated to cost taxpayers $1.1 billion has been less than transparent. In fact, according to Zavala, it has been “at least three years” since the California Legislature has provided any updates on the Capitol’s additions.

This week during a press conference, Newsom promised to “add a topic [to the] next conversation” with legislatures “around the annex.” Newsom proceeded to apologize for the lack of transparency from the Legislature and claimed he “didn’t know they weren’t talking” about the project.

During the off-topic question, Newsom called the White House construction a “desecration” and said the funding came under “curious circumstances” while claiming he had no knowledge of the lack of transparency regarding the annex project.

But Zavala had previously uncovered the creation of a three-member executive committee that meets “behind closed doors” to make decisions on the project. One member is directly tied to Newsom’s administration.

The Scott administration agreed to pay just under $400,000 to three teenagers who were seriously injured when a police officerprominent in northwest Baltimore political circles ran a lightwithout deploying his siren and struck their vehicle.

The settlement was approved yesterday after a 70-second presentation to the Board of Estimates in which the officer involved,Kalman G. Finkelstein,was not publicly identified. His name appears in a lawsuit filed on behalf of the teenagers and in city records reviewed by The Brew.

A former member of the Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee and an avid campaign contributor, Finkelstein was tailing a car he believed was stolen along East Baltimore Street when he ran a red light at Caroline Street shortly after 1 a.m. on October 24, 2021, according to Matthew Bradford, chief of staff for City Solicitor Ebony Thompson.

“He proceeded through the intersection with his lights activated but not his siren,” Bradford told the spending board, and plowed into a car holding six teenagers, injuring everyone and totaling the vehicles.

The city will pay $117,000, $122,500 and $157,500 to cover “past, present and future medical expenses” for the three teenagers “particularly badly hurt,” according to the settlement sheet.

In 2022, the teens filed a lawsuit in Baltimore Circuit Court against Finkelstein and the mayor and City Council. Included in yesterday’s settlement is the dismissal of all legal liabilities and admission of guilt by the defendants.

Bradford said that “BPD conducted an investigation related to this incident and ultimately the officer was disciplined.”

He did not say – nor was he asked by the board’s elected members, Mayor Brandon Scott, Council President Zeke Cohen and Comptroller Bill Henry – how the officer was disciplined. Or why he was chasing a suspected stolen vehicle several miles away from his assigned district.

(NewsNation) — A division within the FBI is asking defense contractors to report incursions by “unmanned systems” — including unidentified anomalous phenomena — that could pose a threat to U.S. national security.

NewsNation special investigative correspondent Ross Coulthart has obtained a flyer produced by the FBI’s Office of the Private Sector announcing a new initiative to report unmanned systems such as drones and underwater vehicles that could pose a threat to defense facilities and “critical infrastructure” sites.

The document notes an increase in “incursions over recent months” and says the unmanned systems “may be intended to disrupt operations or gauge U.S. response capabilities and policies.”

Respondents are directed to use eGuardian, the FBI platform that documents suspicious activity and criminal incidents.

The head of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), Paul Brereton, will step away from all defence-related corruption referrals following questions over his handling of perceived conflicts of interest.

The backdown, announced quietly on Friday evening, comes amid increasing pressure on the commissioner to address concerns about his military ties and their potential impact on corruption investigations involving Defence.

"The recent attention the Commissioner's Defence service and connections have attracted in some quarters has become a distraction from the Commission's work," the NACC statement said.

"As a result, the Commissioner has decided that he will not participate in consideration of any referrals which involve the interests of any Defence or ADF individual or unit that is or comes before the Commission, regardless of whether it might reasonably be perceived to involve a conflict. Last month the ABC revealed Mr Brereton had twice been given special permission to stay on in the reserves past retirement age so he could continue to provide high-level support to ministers and government agencies in relation to the Afghanistan war crimes inquiry.

This was despite previous assurances given by both Mr Brereton and Labor politicians he had stepped away from the body.

One Senate Estimates hearing in October was told Mr Brereton had "consulted" for the Inspector-General of the Australian Defence Force (IGADF) on 11 occasions since becoming head of the federal integrity watchdog.

While another was told neither the NACC CEO Philip Reed nor the NACC Inspector Gail Furness had been aware of the arrangement.

Prior to Friday's announcement, a spokeswoman for the NACC Inspector confirmed to the ABC that the integrity watchdog's oversight body had sought more details from the commissioner.

"The Inspector is requesting information from the NACC about matters that have been the subject of recent media reporting and the evidence of the NACC CEO before the Supplementary Budget Estimates 2025–2026 Hearing on 7 October 2025," she said.
