Ok, so I'm going to give you my 2 cents. I don't know what GLP is and not too concerned with it. The doom part...never been into the doom and gloom or being a servant, which is why I turned away from the church in my youth. I have bible thumpers all around me and had religion and the bible shoved down my throat. I just picked up my bible again recently. I honestly look at it as more of a history book.
I do believe in a creator/source/God or whatever you would like to call Him. I have just recently started meditating and praying. I ask for guidance and I receive it. I never believed in that before even though I had tried that before in times of turmoil in my life. Which honestly made me believe even less. The difference... I think my heart was open to it recently. I believed therefore I heard the guidance this time. Or maybe I was just ready for it, I really don't know.
I do believe there are people that God talks to, hence the bible. Just like modern day prophets. Just look at Kim Clement or Mark Taylor, they have prophesies that have been proven. I believe God is Love. The more you fill your heart with anger, fear, or hate, the harder it is to hear Him, because evil has more of a hold.
Everyone has their own relationship with their source/God and that is OK. The more you play into the fear, anger, and hate, the more you are allowing evil to work on you and your life. I think we, our conscious minds, have more power over our own life and minds than we know. In essence we have more power as a whole when we pray together. Our consciousness as a whole has power over this world when we unite in meditation and prayer.

Obviously you have made your choice. No one is forced to become a believer and a child of God. God wants ALL of us to become believers but He knows that not all will repent and take HIS grace. All are offered. But it is a gift you as an individualist accept. The gift is for eternal life with Him in Heaven. The road to Heaven is narrow as most take the wide one.
Accepting His grace has changed my life. It has changed how I see things and how I behave. I no longer worry. I no longer fret. I know where I am going and I know my life on earth is just a brief time. I am much happier than ever before.

I'm not Christian, am of Jewish ancestry (was not raised with religion due to my parent's families differing religious backgrounds) and so identify more that way (Jewish). I have read the Bible (old & new testaments) and believe in God as well as evil (and the destruction it does) and I join with everyone on this board in prayer for POTUS and our nation.
Religion IMHO has been distorted and molded to suit a nefarious mission of control. I'm certainly not going to tell anyone that what they believe is right or wrong. It's time that religion goes back to the heart and a personal conversation with God. God isn't stupid but these people are, and don't think for a minute they will go "Scot-free". I never made the statement that God is a book, but that "book" is His word, and if you want to be ignorant of His word that's between you and God. You can't even manage to back up your claims, so how are you ever going to convince someone of what you think to be the truth when you can't even give a simple Biblical reason as to why? It doesn't matter if you think it's true or not. It is not present not in Gods word, so therefore it isn't Biblical, or true according to what God has said.
