Anyone have any thoughts about what the etiquette is regarding posting memes on TS? Since it seems that there are many anons posting there, I wasn't sure about posting something from here on TS without being able to give credit.

 

Also, if you are posting on TS, are you posting things you've done here, or just new stuff. I'm really not very anonymous on TS, so if I posted anything I've done here, I'm sure it would be pretty easy to link it up. I don't know if it matters.

Wenn man an die eigene Bevölkerung denkt, gibt es nur eine Lösung: Öffnet Nord Stream 2, um das Schlimmste zu verhindern. De Gaulle wusste noch, Staaten haben keine Freunde, sondern Interessen. So wie die Amis seit 100 Jahren versuchen, das Zusammengehen deutscher Technik mit russischen Rohstoffen zu verhindern (George Friedman), so sollte die Bundesregierung endlich einsehen, dass die Sanktionen nicht Russland und den USA schaden, sondern in erster Linie Deutschland und Europa.

 

Bundesregierung und deutsche Medien können nicht länger leugnen, was ihnen der renommierte US-Ökonom Jeffrey Sachs kürzlich wieder ins Stammbuch geschrieben hat: „Der Krieg in der Ukraine ist der Höhepunkt eines 30-jährigen Projekts der amerikanischen neokonservativen Bewegung (Neocons). In der Regierung Biden sitzen dieselben Neokonservativen, die sich für die Kriege der USA in Serbien (1999), Afghanistan (2001), Irak (2003), Syrien (2011) und Libyen (2011) starkgemacht und die den Einmarsch Russlands in die Ukraine erst provoziert haben.“

Die Vereinigten Staaten schulden der Weltgemeinschaft eine Entschädigung für die durch die Coronavirus-Pandemie entstandenen Verluste, weil Washington für die Ausbreitung des Virus verantwortlich sei, sagte der Sprecher der russischen Staatsduma (Unterhaus des Parlaments), Wjatscheslaw Wolodin, am Mittwoch.

 

„Millionen Fälle und Todesfälle, eine globale Wirtschaftskrise und ein sinkender Lebensstandard sind die Folgen der COVID-19-Pandemie, für die Washington zur Rechenschaft gezogen werden muss“, schrieb er auf Telegram und kommentierte die Äußerungen des amerikanischen Forschers Jeffrey Sachs, für die er die USA verantwortlich machte die Ausbreitung des Coronavirus. „Die USA müssen die Verluste aller Länder kompensieren, die unter der Pandemie gelitten haben“, betonte Wolodin.

 

Er wies darauf hin, dass COVID-19 laut Sachs nach zwei Jahren intensiver Forschung in US-amerikanischen biotechnologischen Labors entstanden sei.

 

„Heute, wenn solche Anschuldigungen erhoben werden, schweigt [US-Präsident Joe] Biden. Er befürchtet, dass die Welt die Wahrheit über den wahren Schuldigen hinter der Pandemie herausfinden wird“, behauptete Volodin.

 

Der Sprecher der Staatsduma fügte hinzu, dass "die biologische Forschung des US-Militärs, die sie auf der ganzen Welt durchführen, gestoppt und veröffentlicht werden muss".

"Millionen von Fällen und Todesfällen, eine weltweite Wirtschaftskrise und ein sinkender Lebensstandard sind die Folgen der COVID-19-Pandemie, für die Washington zur Verantwortung gezogen werden muss", schrieb er auf Telegram und kommentierte die Äußerungen des amerikanischen Forschers Jeffrey Sachs, der die USA für die Verbreitung des Coronavirus verantwortlich machte. "Die USA müssen die Verluste aller Länder, die unter der Pandemie gelitten haben, ausgleichen", betonte Wolodin.

 

Er wies darauf hin, dass COVID-19 laut Sachs in amerikanischen biotechnologischen Labors nach zwei Jahren intensiver Forschung entwickelt worden sei.

 

"Heute, wenn solche Anschuldigungen erhoben werden, schweigt [US-Präsident Joe] Biden. Er befürchtet, dass die Welt die Wahrheit über den wahren Schuldigen an der Pandemie herausfinden wird", so Wolodin.

Britain is to supply long-range rocket artillery to Ukraine, despite a threat on Sunday from Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, to bomb fresh targets if similar weapons from the US were delivered to Kyiv.

The UK will send a handful of tracked M270 multiple launch rocket systems, which can hit targets up to 50 miles away, in the hope they can disrupt the concentrated Russian artillery that has been pounding cities in eastern Ukraine.

Ben Wallace, the UK defenuce secretary, argued the decision to ship the rocket launchers was justified because “as Russia’s tactics change, so must our support to Ukraine”. The move risks further provoking an already irritated Kremlin.

Before the British announcement, Putin told Rossiya state television that Russia would retaliate further if the US went through with the delivery of Himars rocket artillery that the White House promised last week.

“We will strike at those targets which we have not yet been hitting,” said the Russian leader, who has been closely involved with operational military decisions throughout the three months-plus of the war. He did not specify what those targets were.

In the small hours of Sunday morning, Russian cruise missiles struck a railway depot in the eastern Dniprovsky suburb of Kyiv. Ukraine said the strike hit a rail car repair works; Moscow said it had destroyed tanks sent by eastern European countries to Ukraine.

It was the first time anywhere in the capital has been hit for over five weeks. One person was hospitalised, and a plume of smoke rose and was visible from high points in the capital.

Five cruise missiles were launched from Tu-95 bombers, one of which was intercepted, Ukraine’s air force said, in an attack that represented a change of approach on the part of Russian forces. Kyiv was last hit on 28 April.

Russia’s ministry of defence claimed it was targeting an arsenal of T-72 tanks that had been delivered from eastern European countries, suggesting it now wants to target the supply of western arms. But Ukrainian officials said the statement was false.

Oleksandr Kamyshin, the chairman of the board of Ukrainian Railways, said: “There are no such tanks at the plant, as well as no military equipment. There are only cars that we repair. These carriages we need for export – these are, in particular, grain carriages.”

The UK, in conjunction with the US and other western nations, began the war by promising only to supply “defensive weaponry” to help Ukraine repel the Russian invasion. But as Russia has made gains in the east and the south of the country, western countries have gradually sent more lethal arms.

London said it had been cooperating closely with Washington. The British announcement comes a few days after the US said it would send four similar truck-mounted Himars systems. The US and UK systems are intended to be complementary. The ranges of both are far greater than any land weapons Ukraine currently has.

Like the US, the UK has sought assurances from Kyiv that the M270s would not be used to strike targets within Russia. A British defence source said the weapons will be used “to defend Ukraine, in Ukraine”. They added: “We have confidence that the weapons will be used appropriately.”

Britain did not say how many M270s it was sending, although the number is small and will be comparable to the US decision to send four Himars. Ukrainian troops will be trained on how to use the launchers in the UK, the MoD added, and Kyiv’s forces will be supplied with the appropriate rockets “at scale”.

However, Putin said he believed the west’s goal was to prolong the war in Ukraine, which has now gone on for over three months, after the Russian president launched an unprovoked invasion on 24 February.

Russian laser scientist dies two days after arrest for state treason

LONDON, July 3 (Reuters) - A Russian scientist who was arrested in Siberia last week on suspicion of state treason and flown to Moscow despite suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer has died, lawyers and a family member said on Sunday.

 

Physicist Dmitry Kolker, 54, had been taken from his hospital bed, where he was being fed through a tube, and bundled onto a flight of more than four hours to Moscow, where the lawyers said he was taken to Lefortovo prison and later died in a nearby hospital.

His cousin Anton Dianov told Reuters from the United States that the accusation against the laser specialist - that he had betrayed state secrets to China - was preposterous.

 

"He was a scientist, he loved his country, he was working in his country despite many invitations from leading universities and labs to go work abroad. He wanted to work in Russia, he wanted to teach students there," he said.

 

"These charges are absolutely ridiculous and extremely cruel and unusual to be levied on such a sick man. They knew that he was on his deathbed and they chose to arrest him."

The family and lawyers said Kolker was detained, and his house searched, by the FSB security service. They said the treason charges - which carry a sentence of up to 20 years - were based on lectures Kolker had delivered in China, even though the content had been approved by the FSB.

 

Reuters did not receive a reply to an emailed request for comment from the FSB.

 

Lawyer Alexander Fedulov told Reuters he had attempted to contact the authorities on behalf of Kolker but been turned away from the FSB investigative department and from the prison.

He said he would file a legal complaint on Monday over the circumstances of Kolker's detention.

 

On Saturday, state news agency TASS said Russia had detained a second scientist in Novosibirsk on suspicion of state treason. It was not clear if the two cases were connected. read more

 

A number of Russian scientists have been arrested and charged with treason in recent years for allegedly passing sensitive material to foreigners. Critics of the Kremlin say the arrests often stem from unfounded paranoia.

 

Dianov, the cousin, said Kolker was also a highly accomplished concert pianist and organist who performed in both Russia and Europe.

 

"To me, somebody who was producing such beautiful things could not have done what they accuse him of. And that's for ever how I'm going to remember him," he said, fighting back tears. "That's who Dima is to me and the rest of the family."

On Thursday, Senator Rand Paul asked Fauci, “From 2010 to 2016, 27,000 royalty payments were paid to 1,800 NIH employees. We know that not because you told us but because we forced you to tell us through the Freedom of Information Act. Over $119 million dollars was given to these 18 employees. Can you tell me that you have not received a royalty from any entity that you ever oversaw in the distribution of money in research grants?… Have any of them ever received money from people who make vaccines?”

 

Fauci refused to answer the question and then responded by citing convenient government regulations that protect scientists from disclosing royalties.

 

Dr. Paul cut him off, “No, that’s the question. Have you ever received a royalty payment from a company that you later oversaw money going to that company?… Why won’t you let us know?… It’s not just you! Everybody from the vaccine committee, have any of them received money from those who make vaccines?”

US can’t replace Russian coal supplies to Europe – industry

 

EU scrambles to find new suppliers as ban looms

 

The US coal mining industry is unable to expand production to replace Russian coal on the European market, the country’s biggest exporter said on Tuesday.

 

The comment follows a proposal by the European Commission to impose a ban on coal imports from Russia as part of a wider package of sanctions on Moscow over the conflict in Ukraine.

 

“I don’t see any ability for the industry to expand production. It’s like looking at a sweet dessert that you just can’t reach,” Ernie Thrasher, chief executive officer of Xcoal Energy & Resources LLC., the US’ biggest exporter, told Bloomberg.

 

The US is among the world’s top five coal exporters, and sells most of its coal to India, Brazil and South Korea.

 

According to Thrasher, most of the US coal output has already been sold under long-term contracts and there are few spare tons to deliver to Europe. With coal being the dirtiest fossil fuel, there has been little investment in new capacity, he explained, adding that tight labor markets and supply-chain bottlenecks caused by the coronavirus pandemic would also make it difficult to deliver extra tons for export.

 

According to media reports, potential buyers from some EU countries have already approached Indonesia and Australia, the world’s largest thermal coal exporters. But those countries have limited capacity as well. The EU wants to move away from Russian supplies, which meet 70% of Europe’s demand for thermal coal.

 

Shares of US coal miners surged after the European Union announced its sanctions plan against Russia on Tuesday. Coal prices in the US have been on the rise, surpassing $100 a ton last week for the first time since 2008.

A six-year cold-case investigation into the betrayal of Anne Frank has identified a surprising suspect in the mystery of how the Nazis found the hiding place of the famous diarist in 1944.

Timmer tweeted the threat just after DePerno criticized Nessel's refusal to enforce the state's 1931 abortion ban following the Supreme Court's overturn of Roe v. Wade.

Nessel, who is best known for her drunken exit on a wheelchair at a college football game, as well as her call for "drag queens for every school," has a history of threatening political opponents with jail time. As attorney general, she brought charges against former Republican Michigan governor Rick Snyder in relation to the Flint water crisis, but the state's Supreme Court dropped the charges. Emails obtained in a public information request also show Nessel attempted to have restaurant owner Marlena Hackney arrested before she appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss why she defied the state's pandemic lockdown order.

 

"Do we know her whereabouts?" Nessel wrote in an email. "We should just have her picked up before she goes on. This is outrageous."

 

Hackney was arrested seven days later.

 

DePerno rose to national fame after he challenged the 2020 election results in Michigan’s Antrim County. He is not under investigation but has faced criticism for withholding information about how he spends funds raised in support of an election audit.

 

DePerno said Nessel uses her power in office as a political weapon.

 

"It just shows she is getting more and more drunk on power and reckless with each passing day," DePerno told the Washington Free Beacon. "She has no shame in her actions and that is now very clear to the public."

 

Timmer reportedly joined Nessel’s campaign in October after years of experience working for the Michigan Republican Party. He is also a senior adviser to the Lincoln Project, whose cofounder John Weaver left the organization in disgrace amid accusations of sexual misconduct toward young men. The group reached a $375,000 legal settlement in February with an official who accused the super PAC of ignoring the misconduct allegations.

 

Gustavo Portela, the deputy chief of staff of the Michigan GOP, said Nessel should focus on actual crime, which has spiked under her rule.

 

"Dana Nessel is more consumed with jailing Michiganders who oppose her ideology than going after actual criminals making our streets and neighborhoods less safe," Portela told the Free Beacon. "It's no wonder crime has gone up under her watch. We're going to end her drunk-on-power tirades this fall when we defeat her in November."

 

Neither Nessel's campaign nor her office responded to requests for comment.

Well Q team had another incident yesterday in broad daylight of which I believe was paid DS cronies. Was crossing a 5 lane turnpike at the intersection with my wife. I know those street cameras are operated by either a human or AI to harass some and protect others but that is another story. We never have enough time to cross, so as we traveled from N to S, somewhere between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm, at the red light in front of 3 rows of stopped cars we waited for N to S traffic turning E to pass us as we waited in the middle lane to get ahead start. As soon as the stop hand turned to a walking pedestrian I had my wife walk in front as a precaution, like I always do. A late straggler came rushing in blaring his horn at us and instead of stopping he floored it towards us. I urgently told my wife to move quickly as I stood ground with two stop hands up waving him to slow down but he wouldn't until he was within 5 feet. He then tried to side swipe me, but I instead thrusted backwards as I slammed his back window and pillar trying to make a thud. He went about an 1/8th of a mile full speed and quickly turned into another driveway to come back for us. We walked into the stores parking lot where we spoke with a witness that was assuring us he saw the whole thing, couldn't believe it, and stated we were in the right 100%. The guy came back full boat threading his way through the lot. He shouted at the top of his lungs as his woman came around within 6 feet of me giving her best vulgar profanities and gestures as to start a physical confrontation. He, the driver, remained in the car with his face towards me yet his body had turned away as if he had a weapon in hand.

 

I know this was a setup for a few reasons. All driver know it's a Federal law to give pedestrians the right of way at all crossroads whether marked or not. Second, a vehicle is considered a deadly weapon when used to cause sever bodily injury or death and is considered a Class C Felony. To turn around and come back for more knowing you will definitely be identified is not sane. This is what they do, knowing the police will cover for them. He tried to get me to attack his wife so he could shoot me justifiably. He had no fear of cops even though I stated his crimes (15 years), that we are just about seniors, and that my wife is handicap with a neck brace to a big FU I don't give a F.

 

After speaking with the witness for some time, he asked for my number, but I told him I have a new number and don't remember it yet and asked him if he could give me his number and tell the cops what he witnessed. He wasn't interested in that, and that conversation ended quickly. They play both sides, and have the backings of the cops and courts. Hope you can look into this as we are targeted individuals by all of these people. Remember how they tried to entrap me with a discombobulated young black woman that had just got out of a hospital and had no clue of where she was? She came to me, I fed her, and called the police to help her. When they got there, they tried instigating a situation with me because it was all planned.

"With the maritime borders and the vast riches in the [Mediterranean] sea, Lebanon today is before an issue that must become a major national cause," Sayyed Nasrallah added.

 

A "neighboring treasure" is how the Hezbollah leader referenced the riches in the Mediterranean, stressing that all of the wealth lying within and beneath the waters of the sea belongs to all of the Lebanese people, and it is "the last remaining hope to rescue Lebanon from collapse."

 

He underlined the importance of protecting the national energy resources and wealth, extracting them, and making use of them after their extraction, stressing that this should be a goal for Beirut. "On the regional level, only Syria and Lebanon are not allowed to dig for oil and gas under the threat of sanctions," he highlighted.

 

"The first threat emitting from the violation of Lebanon's maritime borders is Lebanon being robbed of a large area and all the treasures and [gas] fields it contains," he explained after saying there were three threats facing Lebanon.

 

The second threat is that "Lebanon is prohibited from extracting its oil, and this is a problem the Lebanese people must find a solution for," he said.

 

The third one, he underscored, was Lebanon's gas fields being emptied. "In this case, the element of time becomes highly important, i.e., when the time comes that we are allowed to extract [gas], we might not find anything."

 

"The issues of water, oil, and gas extraction are no less important than the issue of liberating the occupied Lebanese borders [with Palestine]. This issue has many key aspects that must work as a motive to push everyone to act responsibly."

 

"The main goal should be preventing the enemy from extracting oil and gas from Karish and impeding the activity that will start or that might have already started," Sayyed Nasrallah noted. "Every day we are [not extracting oil], the Lebanese people will be losing wealth and money."

The Karish gas field is a red line; therefore, all that is extracted from it is contested, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed.

An aide to Mark Meadow when he was Trump White House chief of staff will testify Tuesday before the Democrat-led House Jan. 6 committee.

 

The aide, Meadows' "special assistant" Cassidy Hutchinson has previously told committee she saw her boss burn documents in his office after a meeting with Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry.

 

Hutchinson has already met with committee investigators on three separate occasions. However, her scheduled testimony Tuesday will be her first time officially talking about such matters in public.

 

The committee had initially rescheduled all of this week’s hearings until after the House’s July 4th break, but suddenly changed course on Monday, announcing Hutchinson’s testimony.

 

Hutchinson has also previously testified that several GOP lawmakers sought pardons from Trump, including Reps. Perry, Andy Biggs, Louie Gohmert, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz.

Authorities Refuse Request to Release Bodycam Footage of Paul Pelosi DUI Arrest

 

The Napa County DA's office will now decide whether to bring charges against Pelosi, 82

 

Law enforcement officials in California are refusing to release bodycam footage that details the DUI arrest of Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi. Authorities have said that a release could “jeopardize” the investigation and went on to cite standard operating procedure.

 

The California High Patrol denied on Thursday a public records request seeking to release police bodycam and dashboard footage of Pelosi’s arrest.

 

Paul Pelosi was arrested last month on suspicion of drunk driving. Pelosi, 82, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. local time and charged with driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher, according to TMZ, who first reported on the arrest.

 

Bail was set at $5,000, according to the booking report, and the House Speaker’s husband was released early Sunday morning.

 

Pelosi was driving his 2021 Porsche before being involved in a collision with another vehicle, according to a collision report from the California Highway Patrol. Officers were soon dispatched to the scene and ruled that neither driver was at fault for the crash.

 

No injuries were reported, and the other driver was not detained, officials said.

 

In the days following Pelosi’s arrest, the Napa County DA’s office has refused to release police bodycam footage, according to a statement obtained by Fox Digital.

 

“The Public Records Unit (PRU) has determined the Department possesses records responsive to your request,” CHP told Fox News Digital in a letter in a response to a California Public Records Act request last week, confirming the existence of the footage.

 

“However, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office has advised the release of records would jeopardize an ongoing investigation. As such, records are being withheld pursuant to Government Code section 6254 (f).”

 

The Napa County DA’s office will now decide whether to pursue criminal charges against Paul Pelosi, who was cited and released with two misdemeanors. “This is standard protocol in any DUI case that is referred by a law enforcement agency in Napa County,” prosecutors stated. “No decision has been made at this time. Any speculation to the contrary is incorrect.”

 

House Speaker Pelosi has yet to publicly comment on the arrest and does not plan to, according to a spokesman.

 

“The Speaker will not be commenting on this private matter which occurred while she was on the East Coast,” said Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Nancy Pelosi, shortly after the incident. The speaker was in Rhode Island to deliver a commencement speech at Brown University at the time of the arrest.
