Sen. Jim Risch meets with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on surprise weekend trip to Kyiv

 

As Ukraine enters its fifth month of war following Russia’s invasion in February, an Idaho senator made an unannounced visit to meet with the embattled country’s president in Kyiv over the weekend.

 

Sen. Jim Risch, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the capital Sunday, the same day a Russian missile struck the city — killing at least one person and wounding several others, according to Ukrainian officials — after weeks of relative calm as fighting has been concentrated in the country’s east.

 

“It was an honor to meet with President Zelenskyy this weekend to discuss the ongoing Russian assault against Ukraine,” Risch said in a statement. “I’ve been in many war zones, but I’ve never been to one where I’ve seen people rebuilding as the war continues. The Ukrainian people are incredibly resilient, endlessly adaptable, and courageously willing to fight. We cannot let them down.”

 

Risch voted along with 38 other GOP senators in May to send $40 billion in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. His fellow Idaho Sen. Mike Crapo was one of 11 Republicans who opposed the bill, citing its cost and a lack of budget offsets to avoid increasing the federal deficit. In his statement, Risch said he believes Ukraine can win the war if the United States supplies it with “what it needs, before it needs it.”

 

In a video Zelenskyy’s office posted on Instagram, Risch thanks the Ukrainian president for welcoming him and says, “I want to hear what you have to say.”

 

The senator also toured the Kyiv suburbs of Irpin and Hostomel, where journalists and human rights monitors found evidence of atrocities against civilians after Russian occupying forces were pushed back by Ukrainian troops.

 

“I was taken aback by the atrocities I saw firsthand in Irpin and Hostomel, and we cannot stand by and watch these happen again,” Risch said. “I will continue to do everything in my power to ensure the Biden Administration uses the authorities Congress has given to provide President Zelenskyy and Ukrainian defense forces exactly what they need to end this conflict. Ukraine must win this fight.”

 

Risch also stopped in Rzeszow, Poland, where he met with members of the 82nd Airborne Division from Idaho. While no U.S. troops are stationed in Ukraine, the Biden administration has increased their presence in countries that are NATO allies.

 

Risch’s visit came as leaders from the world’s seven wealthiest democracies, known as the G-7, met in Austria to negotiate a global price cap on Russian oil to further squeeze the Kremlin. The leaders announced Sunday they had reached an agreement to stop buying Russian gold, a major source of revenue that was not targeted by earlier sanctions.

Despite Morris’ outsize spending, “he’s very low-key,” said the Hollywood insider. “He’s certainly not one of those flashy Hollywood types, so this whole relationship with Hunter Biden is very strange.”

 

Morris was born Patrick Kevin Morris in Media, Pa., a town of just over 5,000 people about 13 miles outside Philadelphia. His mother worked as a school secretary and his father worked in a refinery. At about the same time, he met McConaughey, who was struggling to break into film, and forged a similar deal with the aspiring actor. “Kevin’s been a friend and consigliere of mine for over 20 years,” said McConaughey in 2015. “I’ve always enjoyed his outlook and authenticities of where he’s from and wants to go.”

 

Morris is a director of the Just Keep Livin Foundation, a charity started by McConaughey and his model wife, Camila Alves, in 2006 to help high school students improve their physical and mental health, according to public records.

 

Morris has been married to Hollywood agent Gaby Morgerman since 1991. Morgerman, who grew up on Long Island, is senior vice president at William Morris Endeavor in Beverly Hills, and the couple has two children.

 

Although he’s made millions as a successful attorney, Morris has said he wanted to be a writer since he was 12 years old. “I think it’s my calling to be a creative person, an artist,” Morris told a Cornell University alumni publication in 2017 when he made a visit to the school to mentor young writers. “Even with me being a lawyer, my artistic orientation allowed me to get along in the practice that I chose, because when you represent creative people, it helps to be creative yourself.”

 

Morris, who launched his boutique law firm in Los Angeles in 1996, later put together a $550 million landmark licensing deal for Parker and Stone’s “South Park” and shared in a Tony Award as a co-producer of their hit musical, “Book of Mormon.” Last year, Morris negotiated another lucrative deal with the “South Park” creators, who signed a $900 million contract with Viacom CBS, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

 

Now Morris is attempting to save Hunter Biden.

 

Morris has said he wants to publicly question the story behind The Post’s October 2020 exclusive revealing the contents of his infamous laptop — a situation that caused concern at the White House, according to the New York Times. In contrast to Morris, Biden’s defense lawyers want the president’s son to stay out of the spotlight and resolve a federal grand jury probe in Wilmington, Delaware, without going to trial if charges are filed, the Times said.

 

But Morris may have garnered even more unwanted attention after McAleer went public this week with his allegations that Morris spied on his production of “My Son Hunter.”

 

McAleer said Morris and his colleagues were given full access to the set and allowed to interview McAleer, co-producer McElhinney and the cast over several days, including over lengthy dinners.

 

But recent revelations about the relationship between Morris and Hunter Biden led McAleer to re-evaluate the visit, he said.

 

“They seemed to never switch the camera off — now I know why. This was an information-gathering exercise by a lawyer and his associates for their client,” said McAleer, whose film is set to be an unflattering portrait of the Biden family.

 

Morris did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Trump Scheduled to Testify in New York AG Witch Hunt Probe July 15

 

President Trump is scheduled to testify in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ witch hunt investigation into the former president’s business practices on July 15.

 

Trump and his two children Ivanka and Donald Jr. will sit for depositions on July 15, according to a court filing, The Hill reported.

 

President Trump has until Monday to appeal.

 

A couple weeks ago a federal judge tossed Trump’s lawsuit seeking to block New York Attorney General Letitia James’ witch hunt investigation into the former president’s business practices.

 

U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes for upstate New York, an Obama appointee, issued the ruling just one day after a state appeals court ruled Trump must testify under oath.

 

“While the New York proceeding has been ongoing since August 2020, Plaintiffs have submitted no evidence that the subpoena enforcement proceeding has been conducted in such a way as to constitute harassment,” Sannes wrote in a 43-page decision.

 

Letitia James has been harassing Trump and his family…just as she promised.

Uvalde Police Chief Placed on Administrative Leave

 

Uvalde Police Chief Pete Arredondo on Wednesday was placed on administrative leave effective immediately.

 

“The embattled police chief of the Texas school district where 19 children and two teachers were killed in a school shooting has been placed on administrative leave, the superintendent announced.” – ABC News reported.

 

Hal Harrell, superintendent of Uvalde CISD said Arredondo was placed on leave due to “lack of clarity that remains” in the probe into the police response to the deadly mass shooting at Robb Elementary School last month.

 

A few weeks ago it was reported the Uvalde Police Department and Uvalde School District were no longer cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Safety’s investigation into last month’s deadly mass shooting.

 

Last month 18-year-old Salvador Ramos fatally shot 19 children and 2 adults at Robb Elementary School.

 

According to multiple reports, the shooter, Salvador Ramos, spent more than 40 minutes inside as loved ones and onlookers begged the police to charge into the building.

 

Police arrived 4 minutes after the shooting began, but Ramos continued on with his killing spree virtually uninterrupted.

 

A report by the Austin American-Statesman shows Uvalde police were in the hallway of Robb Elementary School with rifles and at least one ballistic shield within ten minutes of the start of the mass shooting by Salvador Ramos.

 

On Tuesday, Texas of Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw admitted that the Uvalde Police and on-scene officers NEVER touched the door to see if it was locked UNTIL they breached!!

 

“We can never see anybody put their hand on the door of course up until the breached.”

BROCKTON — A 30-year-old Brockton man has been indicted on charges that he robbed and then stabbed a man to death at a city gas station earlier this year.

 

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said that on Tuesday, a grand jury indicted Manuel Gui Goncalves on one count each of murder and armed robbery in the killing of 54-year-old Brockton manRichard Russell.

 

At around 12:34 a.m. on March 19, Brockton police responded to a gas station at 81 Warren Ave. for a reported stabbing.

 

Emergency first responders arrived to find the male victim suffering from a stab wound and lying unresponsive on the ground in the parking lot at the Stop 'N Gas station, according to the D.A.'s office.

 

Later identified as Russell, the victim was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

 

Investigators conducted interviews at the scene and reviewed video footage that allegedly shows Goncalves engaged in a physical altercation with Russell, the D.A.'s office stated.

 

According to the office, police found Goncalves near the scene of the homicide immediately after the stabbing.

 

The D.A.'s office said the suspect allegedly had a knife on him that appeared to be covered in blood.

 

He was arrested that morning and is set to be arraigned on the charges in superior court at a later date, according to the office.

 

No further details were disclosed.

If you believe there an issue with the justice system in America, and there is, pay attention to the judges on your ballot. In my state you can vote yes or not to retain them. Just look up which governor appointed them and you can figure out pretty quickly if they're NWO puppets or not and vote accordingly. I'm not sure if this is how it works in your state, but figure it out and don't ignore it.

 

You may make the argument that it won't matter much because, like in my state, the governor who's a CCP fan as well as a NWO minion is just going to appoint another corrupt judge, but then just vote them out again.

 

Don't ignore the judges in your state. It matters. Almost every single one in my state was retained in 2020 and shouldn't have been.

 

Never forget that voting makes you at least 17% more attractive and getting rid of the corrupt justices in this country probably t least doubles that. It just science. Vote.

Credit union and banking trade groups have released a joint letter to the chair and ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee, warning of “devastating consequences” if the Federal Reserve moves forward with a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC). The letter was sent on May 25, one day before the Committee convened a hearing on “Digital Assets and the Future of Finance: Examining the Benefits and Risks of a U.S. Central Bank Digital Currency.” That hearing took testimony from only one witness, Lael Brainard, the Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve.

 

The fact that credit unions, which frequently serve unionized labor, joined with banking trade groups to sign off on the letter, lends credibility to the “devastating consequences” the letter enumerates of a Central Bank Digital Currency.

 

A CBDC would allow the Federal Reserve to compete for deposits with credit unions and banks. The letter correctly assesses the downside of such a move as follows:

 

“Private money is created through financial intermediation by banks and credit unions– the process in which financial institutions take deposits and lend out and invest those deposits. Private money is used by financial institutions to provide funding for businesses and consumers and thus supports economic growth. Introducing a CBDC would be a deliberate decision to shift some volume of private money to public money, with potentially devastating consequences for the cost and availability of credit for consumers and businesses. In sum, the savings of businesses and consumers would no longer fund the assets of banks – primarily, loans – but instead would fund the assets of the Federal Reserve – primarily securities issued by the Treasury Department, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac.”

 

In a similar vein, the letter warns:

 

“In effect, a CBDC will serve as an advantaged competitor to retail bank deposits that will move money away from banks and into accounts at the Federal Reserve where the funds cannot be lent back into the economy. These deposit accounts represent 71% of bank funding today. Losing this critical funding source would undermine the economics of the banking business model, severely restricting credit availability, increasing the cost of credit, and causing a slowdown of the economy. ABA estimates that even a CBDC where accounts were capped at $5,000 per ‘end user’ could result in $720 billion in deposits leaving the banking system.”

 

The joint letter also calls out the absurdity that the dollar is not already digitized. (Anyone who uses a “pay by phone” method to pay a monthly bill in seconds from their checking account or a debit card to pay for purchases fully appreciates how rapid and streamlined the digital dollar already is.) The credit unions and banking groups write as follows:

 

“Contrary to the assertions of some CBDC proponents, a U.S. CBDC is not necessary to ‘digitize the dollar,’ as the dollar functions primarily in digital form today. Commercial bank money is a digital dollar, and is currently accepted without question by businesses and consumers as a means of payment.”

The Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA) has sold the now-famous building at 60 Sloane Avenue in London for 186 million pounds sterling (roughly $224 million) to the American company Bain Capital, the Holy See Press Office announced on July 1, 2022. This property, acquired by the Secretariat of State in 2014, is at the heart of a financial scandal for which ten people, including a cardinal, Angelo Becciu, are currently being prosecuted by the Vatican justice.

 

The sale was announced on January 28, but the sum agreed between the two parties had remained secret and only 10% of it had been paid. The conclusion of the transaction had been announced previously for June.

 

The Holy See explains that the entire transaction was monitored by the Secretariat for the Economy, which now has a supervisory role over the entire economic apparatus of the small state.

 

Transparency and independence

To evaluate the transaction, the secretariat announced that it had launched a call for proposals in January 2021 to select the person in charge of ‘due diligence’, i.e. the organization of the sale. The process resulted in the choice, among 16 offers, of the British real estate broker Savills.

 

The Holy See presented this process as a guarantee of “transparency” and “independence” for the operation, a way of distinguishing itself from the secrecy and accusations of fraud that have plagued the previous transactions concluded by the Holy See to acquire the building. The trial currently underway focuses on the conditions in which the due diligence conducted by the Italian-British brokers Raffaele Mincione and Gianluigi Torzi were carried out in 2013 and 2019.

 

In its statement, the Holy See also takes care, as it has done since 2020, to emphasize that the losses incurred in the financial operation have not affected the funds for St. Peter’s Pence. The latter, called ‘Obolus’, collects the money paid each year by the faithful to help the pope in his mission.

 

Controlled until December 2020 by the Secretariat of State (subsequently transferred to APSA), the fund was used to purchase the Sloane Avenue building, the former headquarters of Harrod’s. The losses have been transferred to the Secretary of State’s reserve fund, APSA says.

 

Losses difficult to calculate at this time

The losses of the Holy See in the operation are difficult to assess, although it is known that the first investment of the Holy See made to acquire this property was 200 million dollars. It would have been followed by other investments later, not communicated at the moment by the Holy See, as well as by the payment of 15 million euros to finance a takeover operation led by the broker Gianluigi Torzi in 2019.

For his part, the businessman Raffaele Mincione, questioned on June 7 during the trial, stated that, according to his plans, the sale should have been carried out at around 350 million pounds sterling ($423 million USD) after an additional investment of 115 million euros to redevelop the building. The sale, under these conditions, would have allowed the Holy See to make a real capital gain.

Turkey accuses NATO members of supporting terrorism

 

Recep Tayyip Erdogan claims Germany and France are among states supporting terrorists

 

Finland and Sweden aren’t the only countries in Europe that support terrorists, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has claimed during an address to parliament on Wednesday.

 

The Turkish leader accused France, Germany and the Netherlands of aiding organizations that are deemed by Ankara to be terrorists, such as the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) and FETO, which is suspected of attempting a coup in Turkey in 2016.

 

Commenting on the possibility of Finland and Sweden joining NATO, Erdogan stated that the bloc is “a security organization, not a support for terrorist organizations,” adding that there are other NATO members guilty of aiding extremists.

 

“They protect these terrorist organizations together with the police of Sweden, Finland, Germany, France and the Netherlands,” said Erdogan, apparently referring to the recent PKK ‘Long March’ demonstrations that have been taking place in those countries.

 

Yesterday, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry officially summoned the ambassadors from Germany and France to hand them a note of protest for allowing the PKK’s unhindered activity in their countries.

 

“How can Turkey approve of Swedish, and Finnish NATO bids, given that terror affiliates freely roam, hold rallies there?” asked Erdogan, adding that Ankara has still not received any indication or any written guarantee from the two Nordic countries that they will fulfill any of Turkey’s demands.

 

He also accused the two countries of trying to manipulate public perception of the PKK group by changing the spelling of the organization and rebranding it as the PYD/YPG. Erdogan insisted that these countries were only fooling themselves.

 

Finland and Sweden both decided to break with their history of neutrality on May 15, citing Russia’s military offensive against Ukraine as motivation for them to join NATO. Their membership bids were welcomed by Washington and its European NATO allies, however, Turkey and Croatia have threatened to obstruct the applications unless their national security concerns are addressed.

 

Ankara has demanded that both Sweden and Finland immediately cease support for what it describes as an anti-Turkish terrorist organization, and extradite their members to face trial. It also demands the lifting of sanctions that the two Nordic countries have imposed on it.

 

President Erdogan has insisted that unless these conditions are fulfilled there is no way that Ankara will give the green light for the two countries to join the US-led military alliance. On Sunday, he even stated that as long as he is the president of Turkey, he will never allow a nation supporting terrorism to joint NATO.

I don’t know who’s making the decisions at TS, but you’re right, it doesn’t look good. They suspended Dr Sherri Tenpenny’s account a few weeks ago for speaking out against the vaccines. I was prepared then to delete my account (very small potatoes I am though), but then they went back and restored her account so I stayed on. The updated NATO strategic concept, which will be adopted at the upcoming summit in Madrid, will include some "strong" language on China, according to a White House official.

His killers threatened the police officers who arrived at the crime scene and then simply fled. In June of that year, Azov soldiers in Mariupol abducted a local newspaper editor and journalist named Sergey Dolgov, who sympathized with the idea of federalizing Ukraine. Nothing is known about this man’s whereabouts up to this day.

Arguably Azov's most twisted crime, as reported by the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, was the gang rape of a mentally ill man by about 10 members of the battalion in 2014. The victim was hospitalized with severe physical and psychological trauma. The incident wasn't investigated, and the perpetrators were never brought to justice.

The Azov Battalion has a long record of crimes and offenses of all kinds, from harassment of homosexuals and cases of looting in a war zone, to torture and murder. According to the testimonies of victims, the most common scenario usually involved a random person being kidnapped and taken to a location belonging to the regiment. There,the victim would be tortured and forced to confess to being a member of an insurgent group. After that, the person would be handed over to the SBU, Ukraine’s security service. Moreover, according to victims' reports, SBU officers were often present at the torture sessions.

For example, in May 2017 in Mariupol, Azov fighters used torture and threats to force a woman to sign an interrogation protocol they had written about her alleged involvement in an insurgent cell. The confession was filmed on camera, andthe woman was forcibly stripped naked. Later, she was handed over to the SBU. In another case, a man reported having been subjected to electric shock torture, with wires attached to his genitals.

In the Zaporozhye Region, Azov fighters abducted a woman, had her hands and feet bound with cable ties, kicked her, hit her with rifle stocks, shoved needles under her fingernails and threatened to rape her. A man detained in late January 2015 reported being tortured by oxygen deprivation and electric shocks. After an entire week of this ordeal, he was handed over to the SBU and 'formally' arrested. The UN has published records of numerous similar incidents, but it's safe to say these records amount to only a portion of what actually took place.

This peculiar connection between the neo-Nazis and the SBU is far from a coincidence. Thanks to the Azov Battalion, the Ukrainian security services found the perfect way of proving to their government that they had been successful in dealing with the pro-Russian 'insurgent cells' in Mariupol and Eastern Ukraine – even if such organizations were not actually there.

Most of the real insurgents and their sympathizers had fled to the territories held by the rebels, or at least kept their mouths shut about their allegiances. Yet, somehow, the nationalist regiment was always able to capture the proper number of 'traitors', so that their performance, on paper, looked good.

Even as the bulk of the Azov Battalion’s forces have been defeated and have surrendered in Mariupol, a significant group of nationalists remains at large. For example, the Kraken unit, which was formed in Kharkov, serves as a special forces unit under the Azov Battalion. In recent months, the fighters of this newly formed regiment have already gained infamy for shooting Russian prisoners of war in their legs and filming it on camera.

In short, the Azov Battalion is, despite all the Western and Ukrainian efforts to portray them as heroic defenders of freedom, the most odious group to have operated in the country since 2014.

Democrats who normally condemn the GOP for members who say the 2020 election was "rigged" are now spending millions to prop up one such candidate in Colorado.

 

Democrats in Colorado have reportedly bankrolled over $4 million worth of ads, mailers, and more to buttress Republican Senate contender Ron Hanks in a risky gambit so incumbent Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) can face a candidate perceived as weaker in the general election.

 

"Ron Hanks believes Pres. Biden’s election was a fraud. If elected, he’ll try to ban all abortions, and basically get rid of gun control laws," a text from Democratic Party volunteers to Republican voters said, the Denver Post reported.

 

Democratic Colorado, a liberal super PAC, has been accused of distributing mailers to voters falsely claiming that Hanks was endorsed by the Colorado Republican Party, attracting lawsuits from top rival Joe O’Dea and the state GOP.

 

Hanks, a state legislator running against O'Dea, a businessman, for the Republican nomination, attended former President Donald Trump's rally at the White House ellipse before the Jan. 6 riot, but he has denied participating in the riot at the Capitol. Hanks claimed there was "evidence of fraud in multiple states" to suggest that President Joe Biden was not fairly elected.

 

Several months ago, he cut an advertisement blowing up a faux voting machine from Dominion Voting Systems, which has faced allegations that it tampered with the election results to the benefit of Biden. The company has adamantly denied these claims and filed multiple defamation suits against high-profile backers in response.

 

Ron Hanks was the only Colorado GOP Senate nominee to qualify for the ballot via the assembly process.

O’Dea has maintained that "Biden’s our president. He’s lousy," per the Colorado Sun.

 

Democratic-linked groups have also worked to back other Republican primary candidates in the Centennial State perceived as being too extreme. In ads and other communications to voters, they have facetiously argued that Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Lopez and 8th Congressional District contender Lori Saine are "too conservative."

 

This primary cycle has seen scores of GOP candidates who back claims that the 2020 election was an illegitimate triumph in their respective races. At least 108 candidates who have cast doubt on the 2020 election clinched Republican nominations or advanced to runoffs, according to a June 14 analysis from the Washington Post.

 

Some Democrats caution the trend of choosing to help right-wing opponents could backfire, saying that not every case works and that the successful boosting of Republican Todd Akin by former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) in his 2012 primary race is not applicable across the country.

 

"This has to be done very carefully," McCaskill cautioned, according to NPR.

 

Bennet has served three terms as senator and has held a double-digit lead in recent polling from ProgressNow and others. But Republicans have been expected to surf a red wave in the midterm elections, leaving Democrats scrambling for ways to stave off a total wipeout by defending incumbents in states such as Colorado and Washington.

 

The primary election for Colorado is slated to take place Tuesday night.

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) made the claims in documents published by the National Gender Identity Clinical Network for Scotland (NGICNS).

 

 

The paper was then posted on an official NHS website.

 

 

The WPATH said that "eunuch-identified people" were the “least visible” transgender group, adding that they would benefit from "gender affirming medical care".

 

 

According to the papers, the definition of an eunuch is "an individual assigned male at birth whose testicles have been surgically removed or rendered non-functional, and who identifies as a eunuch (and) individuals who feel that their true self is best expressed by the term eunuch.”

 

 

It added that eunuchs should be offered “surgical intervention” if there is a risk that they person could try to carry out the procedure themselves.

 

 

The documents have since been deleted, with the Scottish Government, who said it was originally published by mistake, issuing an apology.

 

 

The papers have been slammed by many, including Susan Smith from the For Women Scotland campaign group.

 

 

Ms Smith said: "We are disgusted that NHS Scotland thinks that it is appropriate to align with any organisation pushing 'eunuch identity', let alone host a paper about it on their website.

It was at this hospital, in 2002, that a young woman called Svetlana Plusikova gave birth to a baby girl. The 26-year-old agreed to meet me in a derelict fairground nearby, set in a leafless forest. She was too scared for me to come to her workplace.

Svetlana told me that after a relatively straightforward pregnancy, she gave birth without any complication. "It happened very, very quickly - the doctors didn't say anything."

It was only much later that she was informed the child had been stillborn. "They told me my child had already been dead inside me for five months."

Svetlana was unconvinced. Surely if her baby had been dead for so long, she would have suffered a miscarriage. And why was the dead infant not shown to her? It had been whisked away so quickly she didn't even have a chance to hear if it cried.

She has her own theories as to what happened. "I think she was stolen. If she was dead I should have been allowed to see her. I think a lot of young mothers like me lost their children, but right now nobody turns to the police."

Certainly, Svetlana is not alone in her suspicions. I met Dimitry and Olena Stulnev in their two-room flat nearby. I arrived during a power cut and started to interview them by candlelight. There, with tears running down her face, Olena told me about her own experience in

Maternity Hospital Number Six.

"I gave birth to a healthy girl," Olena told me. "She was crying and moving her hands and legs. I was shown the baby. After that the girl was taken away. They told me everything was OK and I could see her the next day."

But that never happened. Olena was told the following day that her baby had died. But when she asked what had caused the death, the answers were inconsistent. "They told me three stories. One, she didn't have enough air to breathe; two, the lungs didn't open; and three, that her heart failed."

The couple tried in vain to find out what really happened, but the more they investigated, the firmer the doors were shut in their faces.

So she contacted a charity campaigner named Tatyana Zhakarova, from the Federation Of Families With Many Children, who took up the case on her behalf.

What Could Go Wrong? Biden’s Handlers Allow Members of a Foreign Terrorist Organization to Enter the U.S.

 

Fifty people on the terror watch list have been apprehended at the Southern border so far this year, and there is no telling how many got across without being caught. And now Old Joe Biden’s handlers have opened up a new way for terrorists to get into the United States: Iran International English reported late Friday that “the Biden admin has decided to lift a controversial ban on the entry into US of Iranian men who’d been conscripted into IRGC, a Foreign Terrorist Organization, as part of their compulsory military service, as they don’t ‘pose a national security or public safety risk.’” The IRGC is Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which the Trump administration designated a terrorist organization in 2019. In their avidity to roll back every last thing that Trump did, Biden’s handlers are once again actively endangering Americans.

 

This decision to allow certain IRGC members into the country is a compromise move designed to get the Iran nuclear deal negotiations moving again. Those negotiations were galloping forward, with the Biden team bent on appeasement and the Iranians getting all they wanted and then some. But then the Iranians, dizzy with success, got a little greedy and demanded that as a condition of the deal, the United States remove the Foreign Terrorist Organization designation from the IRGC. In a stunning and inexplicable development after an unbroken record of appeasement, the Biden team balked, and the negotiations stalled. Now, the United States is trying to get them going by allowing low-level IRGC members into the country while maintaining the terrorist designation.

 

This is, unsurprisingly, unwise. The IRGC was designated a terrorist organization with good reason. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid issued a joint statement on March 18, declaring that the IRGC is “a terrorist organization that has murdered thousands of people, including Americans. We refuse to believe that the United States would remove its designation as a terrorist organization.” You refuse to believe that the United States would do such a thing? Gentlemen, Joe Biden is in the Oval Office.

 

Lapid and Bennett also noted that the IRGC “directs and instructs Hezbollah in Lebanon, Islamic Jihad in Gaza, the Houthis in Yemen and militias in Iraq, and that the body is responsible for attacks against American civilians and American forces throughout the Middle East, including in the past year.” They added, “They kill Jews because they are Jews, Christians because they are Christians, and Muslims because they refuse to surrender to them.”

 

Iran International added that “Secretary of Homeland Security and Secretary of State, in consultation with US Attorney General, concluded that the ban shall not apply with respect to an individual who provided insignificant or limited material support to an FTO (like IRGC) under routine social transactions.” So you see, all is well. Biden’s handlers are only allowing in IRGC members who were “conscripted” into the organization, and who didn’t help it all that much. So what could possibly go wrong?

The January 6 Committee’s credibility has plummeted after claims by former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson that President Trump “lunged” for the steering wheel of his vehicle and demanded to be taken to the site of the riots were contradicted by the lead Secret Service agent.

 

Hutchinson testified that Tony Ornato, the then-White House deputy chief of staff, told her that Trump said something like, “I’m the f-ing president, take me up to the Capitol now,” and had “reached up towards the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel” before then using “his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel,” the the presidential driver.

 

Despite the legacy media breathlessly reporting Hutchinson’s claims without much skepticism, the term ‘Amber Heard 2.0’ subsequently trended on Twitter as Hutchinson’s assertions were demolished.

 

Within hours, Peter Alexander of NBC News revealed that Engel was prepared to testify “under oath that neither man was assaulted and that Mr. Trump never lunged for the steering wheel.”

Clarence Thomas: Court ‘should reconsider’ gay marriage, birth control

 

Justice Clarence Thomas called for potentially overturning Supreme Court rulings that protect gay marriage and access to birth control in an opinion concurrent to Friday’s landmark decision ending federal abortion rights.

 

The conservative judge wrote that the court should “reconsider” other cases that fall under the court’s previous “due process” precedents, which include rulings that establish LGBTQ and contraceptive rights.

 

“In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell,” he wrote.

 

The 74-year-old justice was referring to a 1965 ruling, Griswold v. Connecticut, that allows married couples to access birth control. He’s also referencing a 2003 ruling, Lawrence v. Texas, that forbids states from outlawing consensual gay sex, and Obergefell v. Hodges, a 2015 decision that established the right to same-sex marriage.

 

Substantive due process refers to the notion that people have fundamental rights that aren’t specifically established in the constitution.

 

The same legal argument was also used in Roe v. Wade and its sister case, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which in 1992 upheld the right to abortion.

 

In the opinion Friday, Thomas acknowledged that the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision does not directly affect any rights aside from federal abortion access.

 

But he urged the court to apply the same “Due Process Clause” logic to other substantive landmark cases.

 

“Because any substantive due process decision is ‘demonstrably erroneous,’ we have a duty to ‘correct the error’ established in those precedents,” he wrote.

 

On Friday, the Supreme Court ended nearly 50 years of federal abortion rights, with Justice Samuel Alito writing an opinion in favor of Mississippi in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.

 

In his opinion, Alito stressed that the ruling not be used to roll back any other constitutional right besides abortion.

 

“To ensure that our decision is not misunderstood or mischaracterized, we emphasize that our decision concerns the constitutional right to abortion and no other right,

 

Justice Brett Kavanaugh added,” Nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion.”

A new blood pressure monitoring device made from graphene could help people keep better track of their cardiovascular health. The array of stick-on graphene sensors, dubbed graphene electronic tattoos, can measure blood pressure continuously over the course of hours. Data from this device would give doctors a better overall picture of blood pressure than using measurements from a blood pressure cuff taken a few times a day.

 

“Blood pressure provides a holistic view of our cardiovascular system,” says Roozbeh Jafari, a biomedical engineer at Texas A&M University who led the development of the new device along with Deji Akinwande of the University of Texas at Austin. By monitoring blood pressure over the course of hours, rather than in once- or twice-daily measurements, healthcare professionals can eliminate noise in their data—like blood pressure spikes caused by the stress of a doctor’s visit. Also, Jafari says, the graphene device is thin and weightless. It doesn’t squeeze like a traditional blood pressure cuff; it’s simply worn on the forearm (Nat. Nanotechnol. 2022, DOI: 10.1038/s41565-022-01145-w).

 

The first sphygmomanometer—the device that is the basis for modern blood pressure cuffs—was invented in 1881. While there have been improvements to the device, the technology is essentially the same, Jafari says. The new graphene-based device uses an entirely different process for monitoring blood flow.

 

Graphene—a material that consists of one or a few sheets of carbon atoms strung together like chicken wire—has the perfect properties for a blood pressure monitor, Jafari says. It can make close contact with skin and has ideal electronic properties. The graphene sensors used in the device were first reported in 2017 (ACS Nano, DOI: 10.1021/acsnano.7b02182). In the new blood pressure monitor, the carbon tattoos inject small electrical currents into the arm and then measure voltage, which correlates with changes in blood volume. The team developed a computer algorithm that translates those changes in blood volume to the traditional systolic and diastolic blood pressure measurements.

Biden considers China tariffs rollback, plans talks with Xi

 

Biden said on Saturday he was in the process of making up his mind on tariffs and the potential call with Xi, though he hasn't made a final determination yet.

 

President Joe Biden is considering rolling back some of the tariffs that former president Donald J. Trump imposed on Chinese goods, in hopes of mitigating skyrocketing price hikes on goods, according to CNN.

 

US officials are also working to arrange a possible call this summer between President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to Bloomberg.

 

Biden said on Saturday he was in the process of making up his mind on tariffs and the potential call with Xi, according to an official familiar with the matter, though he hasn't made a final determination yet.

 

Biden and Xi last spoke in a nearly two-hour-long video call on March 18, their first following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The US president warned his counterpart at the time of “consequences” should Beijing provide support for President Vladimir Putin’s war, according to the White House readout of the chat.

 

Business groups and some outside economists have been pressuring the administration to relax at least a portion of the taxes on imports, saying it would be a significant step that the president could take to immediately cut costs for consumers.

 

“We want stability in the relationship, that takes connecting,” US Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns said Thursday at an event hosted by the Brookings Institution when asked about the state of play between the countries. “Of course, our ultimate channel is the channel between our two presidents. A king of 1980s nightlife, Mark Fleischman caroused with the likes of Ron Wood, Keith Richards, Rick James and John Belushi. He owned the last nightclub incarnation of Studio 54, and, by his own admission, enjoyed more than his fair share of illicit substances. Come July 13, however, Fleischman will drop his final drug: a lethal dose of barbiturates. With the assistance of the Swiss non-profit group Dignitas, Fleischman, 82, will commit legal suicide.

“I can’t walk, my speech is f–ked up and I can’t do anything for myself,” Fleischman, who is confined to a wheelchair, told The Post. “My wife helps me get into bed and I can’t dress or put on my shoes. I am taking a gentle way out. It is the easiest way out for me.”

Fleischman, who now resides near the beach in Marina Del Ray, Calif., said neurologists have been unable to diagnose his malady that began in 2016 when suddenly his left leg began dragging.

“It is worse than not being able to walk. Mark doesn’t have balance. He drops things and does not know where his body is in space,” Mimi Fleischman, his wife of 27 years, told The Post. “Doctors originally thought he had a form of Parkinson’s. But it is not that. Nobody knows what he has.”

His commitment to assisted suicide, Fleischman said, is not rash and has been percolating for at least two years. “I came to the decision slowly,” he said. “Two years ago, I decided that it wasn’t worth living. I took a lot of Xanax and ended up in the hospital.”

ER doctors brought him back from the brink of death, but, soon after, “I read a book about ending life. I read in there that the easiest way is to suffocate. But I did not want the pain. I was going to buy a gun. But my wife interceded. We started looking into a place where it would be legal to find someone to do it with.”

Initially, Mimi tried talking him out of the decision, but has decided to respect his wishes. “It’s going to be horrible,” she said. “He is my partner and we are devoted to each other. So it is the end of a part of me as well. I have to honor what he wants. [But] he is not giving me a choice. He wants to end his life and this is a dignified way to do it.”

Assisted suicide is illegal in California, and you need to be a resident in any of the 10 states where it is legal. Instead, Mimi found Dignitas for Mark.

Dignitas launched in 1998 and is devoted to helping people commit suicide when their health is failing. In the case of Fleischman, members of the organization reviewed his medical records and had a series of conversations with him.

“They want to be certain that I am making the decision for myself,” he said. “After reading my material, they asked me some questions to make sure I was serious. I had to provide a notarized affidavit, stating that I want to die. I had to go to a psychiatrist and he confirmed that I am of sound mind. I provided all that and they said they want me over there.”

The organization will provide Fleischman with his life-ending medication and a place in which to consume it.

“Then,” he continued, “they take care of the body. They will cremate me and forward the ashes to Mimi in California. The whole thing costs around $15,000.”
