If you’re concerned about the biases and bigotry of AI models, you’re gonna love the latest addition to the ranks: a text generator trained on 4chan’s /pol/ board.

Short for “Politically Incorrect,” /pol/ is a bastion of hate speech, conspiracy theories, and far-right extremism. It’s also 4chan’s most active board, accumulating around 150,000 daily posts.

These attributes attracted Yannick Kilcher, an AI whizz and YouTuber, to use /pol/ as a testing ground for bots.

GrKilcher first fine-tuned the GPT-J language model on over 134.5 million posts made on /pol/ across three and a half years.

He then incorporated the board’s thread structure into the system. The result: an AI that could post in the style of a real /pol/ user.

The model was good — in a terrible sense.

Kilcher named his monstrous creation GPT-4chan.

“The model was good — in a terrible sense,” he said on YouTube. “It perfectly encapsulated the mix of offensiveness, nihilism, trolling, and deep distrust of any information whatsoever that permeates most posts on /pol/.

“It could respond to context and coherently talk about things and events that happened a long time after the last training data was collected. I was quite happy.”

Kilcher further assessed GPT-4chan on the Language Model Evaluation Harness, which tests AI systems on various tasks.

Three Democrat St. Louis City Leaders Indicted by Federal Grand Jury For Taking Cash Bribes

Three top Democrat St. Louis city leaders were indicted by a federal grand jury for taking cash bribes.

Lewis Reed, Alderman President, John Collins-Muhammad, recently resigned 21st Ward Alderman and Jeffrey Boyd, 22nd Ward Alderman, were all accused of taking cash in exchange for political favors and land deals, KMOV reported.

The crimes happened from January 1, 2020 to March 31, 2022.

KMOV reported:

Three people, including the St. Louis Board of Alderman President, have been indicted by a federal grand jury on corruption charges.

The indictment was unsealed Thursday against Board of Alderman President Lewis Reed, 22nd Ward Alderman Jeffrey Boyd and recently resigned 21st Ward Alderman John Collins-Muhammad. They are all accused of getting substantial and numerous cash payments in exchange for political favors and land deals.

Collins-Muhammad is accused of accepting and agreeing to accept cash, campaign contributions, a car and other things of value in relation to two of John Doe’s projects and his trucking/hauling company. He also is accused of using a cellular phone with the intent of the criminal activity. He was also indicted for knowingly participating in a scheme to “defraud and deprive” the citizens in his ward, and of wire fraud. He was indicted on two bribery-related charges and one charge of honest services bribery/wire fraud.

Reed allegedly took a stream of cash payments and campaign donations “intending to be influenced and rewarded in connection with a business, transaction and series of transactions” related to one of John Doe’s projects and his company. He also is accused of using his cellular phone for criminal activity. He was indicted on two bribery-related charges.

Boyd is accused of knowing accepting things of value, including cash and car repairs with the intent of being “influenced and rewarded.” He also allegedly used a cellular phone to commit criminal activity. He was indicted on two bribery-related charges and a separate two counts of wire fraud for allegedly fraudulently seeking $22,000 from his insurance company.

Iran’s Nuclear Agency Turns Off IAEA Cameras It Says Aren't Included in March NPT Safeguards Deal

Following accusations it had refused to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA), the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) decided to turn off several monitoring cameras at an unnamed nuclear site, saying they were not part of its monitoring deal with the UN-affiliated watchdog.

In a Wednesday statement, the AEOI said the IAEA has “unfortunately ignored the fact that such cooperation signifies Iran’s goodwill, has been ungrateful for the cooperation and has considered it as a duty of Iran,” according to Tasnim News Agency.

As a result, the agency turned off two of the ultra-Safeguards Agreement cameras that monitor the country’s enrichment of uranium-235, a radioactive isotope useful in lower purities for nuclear power and at extremely high purities for producing nuclear warheads. It can also be used as the base from which to refine plutonium, a much more powerful nuclear warhead fuel.

The AEOI said the cameras went beyond the scope of Tehran’s nonproliferation treaty (NPT) safeguards agreement made with the IAEA. It added that more than 80% of the IAEA’s cameras in Iran are covered by the agreement and have remained on.

Speaking before the IAEA’s board of governors on Monday, agency director-general Rafael Grossi said the IAEA had lived up to its end of the March bargain, but that the AEOI had “not provided explanations that are technically credible in relation to the Agency’s findings at three undeclared locations in Iran,” referring to a report the week prior claiming to have found traces of nuclear material there. He demanded Tehran reveal “the current location, or locations, of the nuclear material and/or of the equipment contaminated with nuclear material, that was moved from Turquzabad in 2018.”

Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, blasted the report as “neither fair nor balanced,” saying Tehran had in fact provided the IAEA with written answers to its question.

Iran has also accused Grossi of “colluding” with Israel after he traveled to Tel Aviv on Friday and met with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett ahead of the IAEA meeting. The visit was especially dubious as Israel is not only staunchly opposed to a nuclear deal with Iran, but also possesses nuclear weapons and is not a signatory to the NPT.

Colorado Democrat Governor Jared Polis signed a bill into law on Monday that legalizes the murder of babies in the womb until birth, citing that “a fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus does not have independent or derivative rights under the laws of the state.”

Governor Polis signed the Reproductive Health Equity Act (HB22-1279) as preparation for the possibility that the U.S. Supreme Court could overturn the Roe v. Wade precedent in the coming weeks, Colorado Sun reported.

“No matter what the Supreme Court does in the future, people in Colorado will be able to choose when and if they have children,” the pro-abortion Governor said during the bill signing.

The daughter of a British geologist jailed in Iraq says she "just wants him home", adding "he is not a criminal".

Jim Fitton's family said they were terrified about how he would be treated in prison after being sentenced to 15 years for attempting to smuggle artefacts out of the country.

Mr Fitton, from Bath, insisted he had no idea he was breaking Iraqi laws.

His son-in-law, Sam Tasker, added: "He's an old white British man, there's a lot of ill feeling towards the west."

The 66-year-old had collected 12 stones and shards of broken pottery during a recent geology and archaeology tour.

His daughter, Leila Fitton, said: "We just want my dad home. He's so undeserving. He's not a criminal."

Mr Fitton has been held in detention at Baghdad airport since his arrest on 20 March, but following his conviction is due to be transferred to a general population jail.

Mr Tasker criticised the UK Government for the level of support provided by the Foreign Office.

He added that they were "desperately asking" the government to publicly come out against the verdict and endorse an appeal they would be raising.

"I think there's a huge disconnect between what people assume the Foreign Office will do for British citizens when they're in trouble abroad and what they actually see as their role in reality," he said.

If one baby dies just after birth, and another baby lives to be 80 then the average life expectancy is around 40 years.

Better drinking water, better sewage facilities, better housing and better food mean that today it is uncommon for babies to die. The infant mortality rate has improved dramatically.

And this has had a dramatic effect on average life expectancy.

If one baby in 100 dies just after birth, and the other 99 live to be 80 then the average life expectancy is close to 80 years.

This statistical anomaly enables drug companies, and the medical establishment, to claim that they are responsible for improving life expectancy – and deserve massive amounts of applause.

The truth is that the change in life expectancy is almost entirely due, as I said earlier, to cleaner drinking water, better sewage facilities, better housing and better food.

Very few major improvements have been made by medical science.

The biggest development was the serendipitous discovery of antibiotics nearly a century ago.

And the advantage antibiotics gave us over infections has been squandered by absurd overprescribing and by allowing farmers to give antibiotics to most or all of their cattle. These disastrous errors have led to the development of antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Drug companies and doctors have had virtually no impact on life expectation. Indeed, it is possible to argue that, on balance, they have done more harm than good. Certainly, thirty years ago I produced clear evidence that doctors are one of the three biggest killers – alongside cancer and circulatory disease.

But the medical establishment, and journalists bought by the pharmaceutical industry, continue with their favourite and most powerful lie, suggesting that they and they alone are responsible for improving life expectation.

Naturally, they refuse to debate the myth because they know they will lose the debate.
